San Jose Giants Unveil 2017 Military Trading Cards Presented by Operation: Care and Comfort

San Jose, CA– The San Jose Giants unveiled at FanFest, the 2017 Military Trading Card Set, presented by Operation: Care and Comfort. This incredible 40 card set is complete with honorees from each military branch. Furthermore, the pack includes current personnel and veterans who have served in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the War in Afghanistan and Iraq. The set is filled with men and women from our town and from across the globe who have honorably defended the principles on which the United States is founded upon. Below is the complete list of these distinguished individuals.

Cline, Timothy Dameron, James Garland Dommert, Monica Flores, Robert James Gettemy, Dennis Dale Greer, Phillip D. Hatfield, Marcuss Hernandez, Tianna C. Herrera, Christopher K. Hill, Daniel “Doc” Jacobs, Brian Jergens, Cynthia B. Kepple, Nicholas Kimmel, Jim Mackie, Benjamin McIntosh, Francis Edmund Motch, Sam Nichols, Robert Nishnic, Pasquale Oliverio, Joseph A. Pereira, James Phillips, Louis Redondo, Angelica Reyes, Douglas P. Rodrigues, Frank P. Rodrigues, Gerald Ryan, Anthony J. Smith, Patrick Smith, Katherine “Kit” Tatro, David B. Tripiano, Richard Williams, Dave Wilson and George Youabb.

“Our team is humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to honor these men and women in an Operation: Care and Comfort Military Trading Card Set,” said Juliana Paoli, San Jose Giants VP of Communications and Chief Marketing Officer. “Thank you to everyone who generously shared their story with us. This set is truly a representation of our gratitude towards the honorees along with all military personnel across the world who so selflessly serve and protect our country.”

On April 15, as a part of Salute to the Military Night, the first 1,000 fans will be the fortunate recipients of this remarkable trading card set. The special day, which is dedicated to honoring our military, will feature a variety of festivities including a first pitch ceremony, color guard presentation and on-field recognition of the honorees chosen to be a part of the card pack. All-new camouflage themed jerseys will be worn and an exciting Operation Care and Comfort Military Jersey Auction will take place. Many of the selected individuals and their families will also be in attendance, adding to the special nature of the evening. All other servicemen and servicewomen are encouraged to come out to the ballpark as the night is a salute to all who serve our country.

“It is a privilege for Operation: Care and Comfort to be a part of this promotion, honoring the men and women who have and continue to fight for our freedoms,” said Julie DeMaria, Operation: Care and Comfort President and Co-Founder. “The individuals who make up this set span generations and epitomize what it means to be a hero.”

First pitch for the Salute to the Military Night will take place at 5:00 PM and gates will open at 3:30 PM. The game will be the conclusion of a competitive, early-season, Northern Division matchup against the Stockton Ports. Our Giants 2017 season gets underway on Thursday, April 6 with our home-opener Thursday, April 13.
