Tampa, Fla. – The Tampa Yankees will host their annual Pepsi Cola Little League Day at Steinbrenner Filed on Sunday, May 3rd when they take on the Lakeland Flying Tigers at 1:00 PM.

The first 250 fans to enter the stadium will receive a Collector’s Pepsi Cola Yankees Pin. All guests wearing their Little League uniforms will receive free admission from the Box Office (players and coaches).

There will be Food Trucks that will be serving food outside of the stadium beginning at 11:00AM. Food Trucks participating will be Tasty Stacy, Sarge’s BBQ, Disco Donuts, Kona Ice, Enjoi Sweets & Company, Hott Mess, and Street Surfer. After the game, the Tampa Yankees invite kids, ages 14 and under, to run the bases on Steinbrenner Field.

Palma Ceia Little League Challenger Teams will play a game on Steinbrenner Field after the Tampa Yankees game concludes. The Tampa Yankees Actively assist youth baseball and softball programs in the Tampa area to promote the Little League Mission, developing qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being.

Tickets are $4 for general admission, $6 for reserved seating. Fan can also purchase the Sonny’s BBQ 2-Pack for $20. It includes 2 reserved ticket, 2 Sonny’s BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, 2 sides of mac & cheese, 2 drinks and 2 passes to The Florida Aquarium and can only be purchased at the George M. Steinbrenner Field Box Office.

MBF Announces 2015 Grant Recipients

22 organizations are part of 2015 grant class

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Michigan Baseball Foundation (MBF) is pleased to announce that 22 organizations are part of its 2015 grant class. The 2015 grant total is $108,477.

At Olson Park in Saginaw County, Heritage High School Athletics will install two scoreboards with an $8,000 grant. The Mt. Pleasant School District in Isabella County received $6,900 for construction of a press box at their athletic complex. Improvements to the horse arena at the Bay County Fair and Youth Expo received 6,858 this year. In Tuscola County, the Reese High School softball program received $5,000 to build batting cages for their teams to use.

Since 2008, the Michigan Baseball Foundation has awarded 231 grants to deserving non-profit organizations across 14 counties, bringing the grant program’s total to $829,491 since its inception.

The Foundation began its eighth annual grant process in April 2014 and solicited grant applications from non-profit organizations throughout the region. All applicants were required to meet one or more of the following guidelines, which reflected the purposes for which the Michigan Baseball Foundation was organized:

•   The organization contributes to regional economic development.
•   The organization is based in Mid-Michigan and serves young people.
•   The organization promotes amateur sports and fitness

The Michigan Baseball Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and public charity, which was formed in 2006 to generate regional economic development and to enhance the efforts of regional organizations that serve young people through creative partnerships and grants. The Michigan Baseball Foundation owns and operates Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons, a Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Foundation received its initial funding from The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, The Dow Corning Corporation, The Rollin M. Grants Were Awarded during Thursday’s Phillies Winter Banquet

Lehigh-Valley-IronPigsIronPigs Charities, presented by The Air Production Foundation, a non-profit organization striving to provide educational and recreational opportunities for children in the Greater Lehigh Valley area, awarded a record-breaking 101,897.45 in cash grants to 22 non-profit organizations during Thursday’s Phillies Winter Banquet at the Sands Events Center. Since debuting in 2008, IronPigs Charities has contributed a total in excess of $750,000 in cash grants to dozens of local non-profit entities. Between the IronPigs Charities organization and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the total all-time cash distribution is nearing $1.1-million.

“The Phillies Winter Banquet, coupled with the opportunity to make meaningful donations to so many deserving local organizations, is truly the highlight of our year,” remarked IronPigs Charities President Kurt Landes. “It’s genuinely humbling to be in such a position to be able to impact our community in such a significant manner. And, the best is yet to come.”

Other Phillies dignitaries included broadcaster Tom McCarthy, Assistant General Manager Scott Proefrock and Assistant Director of Player Develoment Steve Noworyta.

The Phillies Winter Banquet beneficiary, IronPigs Charities, is a recognized 501(c) (3) non-profit organization on the state and federal level. The annual Phillies Winter Banquet is IronPigs Charities’ flagship event and all of the money raised at the event directly benefits IronPigs Charities.

Chiefs to hold Little League Appreciation Night

All Little Leaguers in attendance can enter June 14th game for free

Syracuse-ChiefsThe Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce the details of this year’s Little League Appreciation Night, presented by Hofmann Sausage Company. Little League Appreciation Night will be held on Saturday, June 14th, when the Chiefs play the Norfolk Tides at 7:00 PM.

All Little Leaguers wearing their team jersey or uniform to the Chiefs’ game on June 14th will receive free admission. Little Leaguers in attendance will be able to walk with their team banners in a pregame, on-field parade, where each team’s name will be read over the stadium’s public address system. In addition, the first 1,000 kids to enter the stadium will receive a replica Chiefs jersey as part of Giveaway Saturday, courtesy of Hofmann.

“We want to honor the kids playing the greatest game in the world and can’t wait to have them show up on Little League Night”, said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. “Maybe we’ll even have some future Syracuse Chiefs in uniform!”

The Chiefs will contact Little League coaches and league presidents directly to ensure that Little League players receive their free ticket for June 14th’s game. Upon arrival to the stadium that night, coaches can pick up their team’s tickets by checking in with our ticket office representatives outside the main gate.

Stockton Ports contribute to local Little League renovation

The Stockton Ports teamed up with the California District 8 Little League to help enrich the lives of Stockton youth through the gift of baseball. The Ports and District 8 Little League announced that Eastern Little League had been selected as the recipient of a grant that helped with field renovation.

“The 12 Little Leagues within California District 8 are extremely fortunate to have the ongoing support of the Stockton Ports,” said Dee Dee Martinez, a CA District 8 Little League Administrator. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Stockton Ports as we work together to provide a program of service to the youth of our community through our baseball and softball programs.”

The grant, worth $1,146, went to the renovation of the East Side Community Park in Stockton where the Eastern Little League plays. The Ports have worked with California District 8 Little Leagues in the past, with the League being active participants in the Ports Little League days. The grant, which was from the Player Fine Money distributed by the California League, marks the first time the Ports have partnered with the League to renovate a field. In addition to the Ports grant, We Paint donated all painting supplies and a free power washing to the renovation efforts.

“We are proud of the relationship we have established with our area little leagues and are looking forward to being able to give back to the league by improving their field for the upcoming season.” said Tim Pasisz, the Ports Director of Business Development and coordinator of the team’s youth baseball programs.

The Ports front office staff donated their time to help with the renovation on March 5. The Ports spent the morning tearing down the worn and broken fence surrounding the little league field.

“Believe it or not, tearing down this fence was a lot of work,” said Community Relations Manager Margaret Sacchet. “We are just happy that we have the opportunity to help out with projects like this. This is where it all starts for these kids. We want them to have a nice, safe field to play on. We may see them play at Banner Island Ballpark one day!”
