You’re Hired: RailRiders holding two job fairs

 

MOOSIC, PA (December 19, 2019) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are holding two job fairs in January to hire seasonal employees for the upcoming 2020 season at PNC Field. The RailRiders will host the Keystone Mid Summer Classic next summer, featuring the 2020 Triple-A All-Star Game presented by the Lackawanna County Visitor’s Bureau, and are seeking energetic and dedicated personnel for the upcoming season.

The first job fair is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 10 A.M until noon. A second will be held on Wednesday, January 22, from 6 to 8 P.M. Those interested in seasonal employment only need to attend one of the two events to be considered. Potential employees will fill out applications and the front office staff will do interviews on the spot during the job fair. Both job fairs will be held in the Geisinger Champions Club at PNC Field.

“The game day staff is a key part of our fan experience at PNC Field,” said Katie Beekman, the RailRiders General Manager. “From the moment you arrive until the time you leave this great ballpark, it is the responsibility of our game day employees to make sure our fans are enjoying the game. We need individuals who will take pride in what we do every game.”

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is looking for game day employees to fill a variety of roles within the organization. The game day staff includes bat boys/ girls, club level attendants, custodians, grounds crew, parking attendants, security staff, ticket sales representatives, ticket takers, ushers and video/ production assistants. The team is also looking for members of the Pinstripe Patrol, the on-field promotions crew, as well as fun zone employees and performers to serve as the team’s mascot during games. Potential RailRiders employees must be aged 16 or older.

Legends, the official catering, concessions and merchandise provider of the RailRiders, will also conduct interviews on January 18 and 22. Legends is seeking concession stand managers, workers and cashiers. In addition, Legends will hire prep cooks, grill cooks, food vendors, general kitchen help, suite attendants, retail associates and interns. Most Legends positions start at $10 per hour and candidates must be 18 or older.

Learning Curve: RailRiders seeking interns

 

MOOSIC, PA (December 10, 2019) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, are accepting resumes for their 2020 internship program. The team is seeking interns in a variety of areas and will offer both paid and for-credit positions.

The RailRiders are offering internships in the following areas/ fields: Client/Corporate Services, Community Relations, Game/ Business Operations, Media Relations, Ticket Sales and Video/ Promotions.

Gift of Baseball Program Commences Monday To Benefit Local Non-Profits

The Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance, are pleased to announce the return of the Gift of Baseball Program for the holidays. The Gift of Baseball program provides tickets to underprivileged families for the chance to share the fun of Thunder Baseball .

For each ticket purchased before January 2, the Thunder will provide tickets to 2020 games through various non-profit partners and the Grand Slam We Care’s Tickets for Kids program.

“Attending the family-friendly and fun environment that we have cultivated at ARM & HAMMER Park over the years is a privilege that not every family in Mercer, Bucks and Burlington County has,” said Thunder GM/COO Jeff Hurley. “I am thrilled to partner with so many great local organizations that allow some of those families to enjoy the experience of Thunder Baseball.”

In the 14 years of the Gift of Baseball Program, the Thunder have donated 10,684 tickets to area non-profits.

Ticket purchases made between Monday, November 25 and January 2 of any Thunder Makes Membership Plan will trigger a matching donation to Thunder non-profit partners. Giving Thanks: Student luncheon a success

 

MOOSIC, PA (November 21, 2019) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and their charitable arm, the SWB Pinstripes Foundation, hosted the first of two holiday luncheons on Wednesday, November 20, at PNC Field in the Geisinger Champions Club. Over 230 middle and high school-aged Life Skills and Special Education students from across Northeastern Pennsylvania were in attendance along with their teachers and class aides.

“We were absolutely thrilled with the turnout,” said Jordan Maydole, the RailRiders Director of Community Relations. “We had a great group from nine different local schools. After a delicious lunch prepared by Legends, students made Thanksgiving-themed crafts, met with our mascot CHAMP and received a gift card to the team store. The day was free of charge to these students and their teachers thanks to donations to the SWB Pinstripes Foundation.”

“Many of the students we met today and even several of the teachers,” Maydole continued, “had never been on a class field trip before or had ever visited PNC Field. I can’t tell you how special it was to see them all enjoying a good meal, getting their CHAMP dolls and RailRiders hats in the team store, taking pics with CHAMP, and getting to escape from the classroom for an afternoon!”

A second holiday luncheon will be held on December 12 for elementary and early middle school-aged children and will feature appearances by Santa and CHAMP.

SWB Pinstripes Foundation hosting holiday luncheons at PNC Field

 

MOOSIC, PA (November 19, 2019) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and their charitable arm, the SWB Pinstripes Foundation, will host two luncheons this holiday season. The first, a Thanksgiving meal, is slated for Wednesday, November 20, at 11:30 AM in the Geisinger Champions Club at PNC Field and will serve 200 middle and high school-aged Life Skills and Special Education students from across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

“We are pleased to welcome these students, their teachers and aides to PNC Field for a Thanksgiving lunch,” said Jordan Maydole, the RailRiders Director of Community Relations. “After lunch, the children will create a Thankgiving-themed craft to prepare for the upcoming holiday and get pictures with our mascot, CHAMP. We expect a great crowd and hope to create impactful meaning and memories along the way.”

These luncheons are free for the students and staff in attendance and made possible through donations to the SWB Pinstripes Foundation over the last year. A second holiday lunch will be held on December 12 for elementary and early middle school-aged children and will feature appearances by Santa and CHAMP. Students in attendance at either luncheon will also receive a $25 gift card to the RailRiders team store.

Grand Slam We Care Foundation Makes Donation To Support American Red Cross – Puerto Rico

The Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance, are pleased to announce that The Grand Slam We Care Foundation, the Thunder’s 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, has made a $2,000 donation in support of on-going relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

As part of the Thunder’s participation in MiLB’s Copa de la Diversion campaign, the franchise raised money through ticket fundraisers, 50-50 donations and special experiences in the ballpark to support the American Red Cross’ Puerto Rico chapter in their on-going relief efforts.

“One of the most rewarding parts of my time here at the Thunder has been the impact our organization can make on communities not only right here in Mercer County, but, in communities that are important to our fans,” said Thunder GM/COO Jeff Hurley. “Once we started to engage with our local Latino community we found that a program of this nature would be paramount to them and I am thrilled that our Grand Slam We Care Foundation could find a way to support the American Red Cross’ Puerto Rico chapter in their continued relief efforts for those affected in their community.”

Tampa Tarpons and ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment to Refurbish Local Playing Fields

TAMPA, Fla. – On August 28, the Tampa Tarpons will be participating in MiLB Charities’ new field refurbishment initiative, MiLB Project: Refresh powered by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment. Through the initiative, the Tarpons and the Yellow Jackets Little League will renovate Calvin Taylor Park by leveling and aligning the clay infield.

Minor League Baseball Charities is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to giving back to and enhancing the communities our teams call home. In conjunction with ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment, Minor League Baseball™ (MiLB™) and its teams are working to enhance local baseball and softball communities in MiLB cities across the country. Staten Island Yankees Announce 2019 Pride Night Promotion

STATEN ISLAND – Pride Night returns to Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Friday, August 30th as the Staten Island Yankees host the Hudson Valley Renegades at 7:00 p.m. Gates to the ballpark open at 6:00 p.m.

Tarpons to Host Back to School Splash on Saturday, August 10th

 

TAMPA Fla. – The Tampa Tarpons will host their second-annual Back to School Splash on Saturday, August 10th at George M. Steinbrenner Field, presented by BayCare. Gates will open at 5:15 p.m. and the first 1,000 kids ages 14-and-under will receive a Tarpons backpack.

The Tarpons will battle the Charlotte Stone Crabs at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the game, kids will can run the bases from 5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Select Tarpons players will sign autographs on the concourse from 5:40 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In addition, there will be BayCare mascots in attendance, and a Kids Zone set up on the concourse, including a dunk tank, face painter and obstacle course. After the game, fans are invited to stick around for a fireworks extravaganza, presented by Spectrum.

F.I.E.L.D. Program Returns to Renovate West End Little League

The Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance, are pleased to announce the return of their F.I.E.L.D. Program. F.I.E.L.D. is a Thunder initiative that stands for Focused Initiative for Enhanced Learning and Development.

The program supports youth baseball in the area. Members of the Thunder front office, The Grand Slam We Care Foundation, Aetna Better Health of New Jersey, the City of Trenton, Isles Youth Institute and the Mercer County Improvement Authority will come together to renovate the field, paint the bleachers and dugouts, and devote efforts toward the overall beautification of the facility at West End Little League located in Trenton, NJ on Thursday, April 18 at 9 a.m.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to see our community work together and provide an opportunity for the kids at West End Little League to play on a brand new playing surface,” said Thunder GM/COO Jeff Hurley. “We at the Thunder are huge supporters of youth baseball in the Capital City and I thank the folks at Aetna Better Health of New Jersey, the Mercer County Improvement Authority, Isles Youth Inc., and DuraEdge for their contributions to this program.”

Pride Night Set For June 10 at ARM & HAMMER Park

The Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance, in partnership with the New Jersey LGBT Chamber of Commerce are pleased to present their first-ever Pride Night at ARM & HAMMER Park on Monday, June 10.

Pulaski Yankees introduce Community Organization of the Night program

PULASKI, Va. – The Pulaski Yankees are excited to introduce the Community Organization of the Night presented by the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce for the 2019 season. Through this program, the Yankees will highlight one area non-profit organization at each home game during the season. The organization will have the opportunity to set up a table on the concourse at Motor Mile Field at Calfee Park, be shown on the jumbotron during the game, and welcomed with a PA announcement.

RiverDogs, Boeing Announce Joint Partnership to Recognize Military Members and Families

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Boeing has been named a 20/20 Partner of the Charleston RiverDogs, making the world’s largest aerospace company one of a group of partners committed to the vision of RiverDogs baseball and Joe Riley Park for the future.

RiverDogs Host 14th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Just like a night out at The Joe promises more than just a baseball game, the RiverDogs’ annual charity golf tournament will be no different, while raising money for a good cause. Under the theme of “Día de los Perros,” the RiverDogs will host their 14th annual charity golf tournament, benefitting MUSC Children’s Health, at the Wild Dunes Harbor Course on Monday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m.

Presented by Container Maintenance, this year’s course theme, teasing the RiverDogs’ upcoming identity in the 2019 “Copa de Diversión,” will feature 18 holes and provide a fun afternoon of golfing and networking.

“We’re excited to host our annual golf tournament once again. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon while benefitting a great cause,” said RiverDogs Director of Special Events Lisa Dingman.

Also presented by Michelob Ultra and Estrella, the event begins with an 11 a.m. shotgun start, and limited space is available. Hole sponsorship is $400. Foursomes can reserve a spot for $650 and individuals may register for $175. The afternoon will feature costume contests, potential celebrity appearances, and lots of chances to win prizes with lunch and dinner provided by The Kickin’ Chicken and Mex 1.

Help Wanted: Two job fairs set in January

MOOSIC, PA (December 19, 2018) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will host two job fairs in January to hire seasonal employees for the upcoming 2019 season at PNC Field. The club is celebrating 30 years of professional baseball in Northeast Pennsylvania and is looking for energetic and dedicated personnel for 70 home games plus additional events during the new calendar year.

The first job fair is on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 10 A.M until noon. A second will be held on Wednesday, January 16, from 6 to 8 P.M. Those interested in seasonal employment only need to attend one of the two events to be considered. Potential employees will fill out applications and the front office staff will do interviews on the spot during the job fair.

“Our game day staff is vital to what we accomplish at PNC Field,” stated Josh Olerud, the RailRiders President and General Manager. “We are working on bringing a ‘Fan First Philosophy’ to one of Northeast Pennsylvania’s premier experiences. We need individuals who will take pride in what we do every game.”

The RailRiders are looking for game day employees to fill a variety of roles within the organization. The game day staff includes bat boys/ girls, club level attendants, EMTs, grounds crew, parking attendants, porters, security staff, ticket sales representatives, ticket takers, ushers and video/ production assistants. The team is also looking for members of the Pinstripe Patrol, the on-field promotions crew, as well as fun zone employees and performers to serve as the team’s mascot during games.

Legends, the official catering, concessions and merchandise provider of the RailRiders, will also conduct interviews during each job fair. Legends is seeking concession stand managers, workers and cashiers. In addition, Legends will hire prep and grill cooks, food vendors, general kitchen help, suite attendants and retail associates.

Interviews for internships will not be conducted during the two RailRiders job fairs. More information regarding internships will be available in January.
