First of just two visits this year by Phanatic
LAKEWOOD, NJ – The BlueClaws welcome the Phillie Phanatic to FirstEnergy Park on Thursday, June 27th, and at the game, they will hold their annual Troop Supply and Care Package Drive.
The Phanatic, the world’s most famous mascot, makes the first of two trips to the ballpark this summer and between innings, he will entertain fans like only he can. The Phanatic’s appearance is presented by OceanFirst Bank.

Boxes will be set up for the Troop Supply and Care Package Drive in the front of the ballpark and fans are encouraged to donate razors, snacks, baby wipes, shampoo, soap, non-chocolate candies and sweets, sun block with SPF 40+, lip balm, writing utensils, silly string, deodorant, tissues, q-tips, white socks, batteries, insect repellent, and flashlights.
The BlueClaws will also be collecting, as always, gently used cell phones at the NJNG Information Booth to benefit Cell Phones for Soldiers.
This supply and care package drive is in conjunction with the Monmouth-Ocean Central Labor Council Military Committee, Monmouth-Ocean Building Trade Council, National Guard, Toms River Armory, A.R.M.S, and IBEW Local 400 Military Committee.
“Military Appreciation Night here in Lakewood has been a great event these last eight years,” said Pat O’Keefe of the IBEW Local 400 Military Committee. “It’s great to see the local community come out and support the event and our Troops overseas.”
The Troop Supply and Care Package Drive takes place on Military Appreciation Night, where military groups will take in the game and there will be various pre-game ceremonies honoring military members.

RICHMOND, VA – The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, are asking their fans to step forward and help the Oklahoma Tornado Relief Efforts on Sunday, June 2nd at The Diamond. The Squirrels will have a Better Box mobile storage unit in front of the main gate for items to be donated and shipped to a relief distribution center in Oklahoma. The items needed are specific and are listed below. The storage unit is scheduled to be ready outside of the main gate beginning at 11:00AM and will remain there throughout the Squirrels game vs. the Erie SeaWolves. Gates for the game open at 12:30PM with first pitch scheduled for 2:05PM. Fans who donate items to the effort will receive a raffle ticket to win one of several prizes. Winners will be drawn during the game.
MIDLAND, Mich. – As part of their Memorial Day Celebration, presented by Central Michigan University, on Monday, May 27, the Great Lakes Loons and CMU will be partnering to collect items that are needed by members of the United States military.

Fort Wayne, IN – This Saturday, Sunday, and Monday fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items to Parkview Field with them to help feed their hungry neighbors. On Saturday, August 27th at 7:05pm Comfort Keepers is sponsoring “Slugging for Seniors” a senior hunger food drive to collect non-perishable food items specifically for Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana to use for their SeniorPak program. SeniorPak is a program that delivers groceries every two weeks for over 1,200 needy, homebound Seniors. Post-Game Fireworks and an appearance by Birdzerk! will also be featured that evening at the park along with a silent auction for two autographed TinCaps jerseys! All proceeds benefit Community Harvest Food Bank.
