Wind Surge to Host COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

Wichita, KS – The Wichita Wind Surge announced that they will be partnering with the Sedgwick County Health Department to host COVID-19 vaccinations at their Healthcare Heroes game on Friday, July 9th. Vaccinations are free and will be available to any fan attending the game.

“Vaccinations are a huge reason that our community is able to gather again, and that Riverfront Stadium can finally host fans this season,” said Wind Surge CEO Jordan Kobritz, “We’re happy to partner with Sedgwick County Health Department in their efforts to keep our community healthy, safe, and open.”

Vaccinations will be administered by SCHD staff in the Wind Surge administrative building, located in right-field, from the time gates open at 5:30pm on Friday, until 8:00pm. Those who receive their vaccination will also receive a voucher good for two tickets to a future Wind Surge game.

Responses to Frequently Asked Questions

  • Anyone aged 12 and older is eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine
  • Individuals can receive their first or second shot of the Pfizer vaccine (for people aged 12 or older), or one-dose Johnson and Johnson (for people aged 18 or older)
  • No ID is required
  • Minors wishing to get the shot will need parent or guardian consent
  • After receiving your dose, there is a 15-minute observation period
  • Vaccinations are free

Hooks, Circle K Partner for Tuesday Food Drives

CORPUS CHRISTI – The Hooks and Circle K have teamed up to fight hunger in the Coastal Bend.

At each remaining Tuesday home game, fans can donate non-perishable food items that will directly benefit the Coastal Bend Food Bank.

Those who donate to the Circle K Food Drive at the Whataburger Field gates will receive a voucher for $2 off any Reserved or Field Reserved ticket, which can be redeemed at the Box Office for any Sunday through Thursday game during the 2021 season.

The Tuesday dates are July 6, July 13, July 27, August 17 and September 7.

Individual game tickets and season memberships are on sale now at the Whataburger Field Box Office. Purchases can be made online at cchooks.com/tickets, at the Box Office or by phone at 361-561-HOOK (4665).

Beloit Snappers to Host Three Jobs Fairs July 6-8

BELOIT, Wisconsin – The Beloit Snappers need your help! As the Snappers move into ABC Supply Stadium later this summer, they are looking to add to their staff by hosting not one, not two, but THREE job fairs July 6-8 at three different locations in the Stateline region. As the region’s only professional baseball team, if you have ever dreamed of working in baseball, we have a job for you!

We want you to be part of the most fun atmosphere in MILB! The first job fair on July 6, will be located at the Bodacious Shops in Janesville, WI. The second fair on July 7, will take at the Beloit Transfer Station (Downtown Bust Stop) at 225 Shirland Avenue. Finally, the July 8 job fair will be located at the CherryVale Mall in Rockford, IL. The job fair on July 7 will run from 6-8 pm, while the job fairs on July 6 & 8 will run from 4-7 pm.

Interested applicants are encouraged to fill out an application form prior to the job fair, bring their resume, dress in business professional attire, and come prepared to interview on-site. We’ll be grilling up burgers and hot dogs during the first two job fairs, so bring your appetite, too.

Available game day staff positions include concessions supervisors, line cooks, cashiers, and food runners, security, ushers, cleaning attendants, grounds crew, ticketing, and retail. Candidates will be expected to work all Snappers home games at ABC Supply Stadium during the 2021 season, including nights, weekends, and holiday dates, and should view the team’s schedule in advance at SnappersBaseball.com to ensure their availability.

BlueClaws Donate Tickets at Joint Base For Military Appreciation Night; Fans Can Support Program Through Donations

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – In advance of Military Appreciation Night, set for July 8th at FirstEnergy Park, the BlueClaws, through their Host a Hero program, donated tickets and caps to military members on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst on Wednesday morning. This program is made possible by donations from fans through the special program.

BlueClaws manager Tank Adamson stood next to an M47 Medium Tank on the base Wednesday and made the donation to military members and representatives of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Through the Host a Hero Program, the BlueClaws collect ticket donations for Vets Night Out from fans to bring military heroes and first responders to the ballpark. These tickets are used for Military Appreciation Night on July 8th and First Responders Night on September 11th. Fans can donate tickets online by clicking here. Donation rates are as follows:

  • $50 – host 5 heroes
  • $100 – host 12 heroes
  • $250 – host 30 heroes
  • $500 – host 75 heroes

At Military Appreciation Night, presented by OceanFirst Bank, the BlueClaws will host a Troop Supply Drive in conjunction with the IBEW Local 400 Military Committee. Items that will be collected include: soap, razors, toiletries, socks, non-perishable snacks, sunblock, flashlights, sports equipment, batteries, tissues, and baby wipes.
