Here is a link to the original story on the team's website.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – The BlueClaws and RWJBarnabas Health will partner on an Emergency Blood & Platelet Drive at FirstEnergy Park on Tuesday, January 17th from 11:30 am until 5:30 pm. The current blood supply is at critical levels and the need for donors is extremely high.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended and can be made by clicking here or calling 732-235-8100 ext 221 or 248. There is limited availability within each 15-minute time slot to ensure social distancing protocols will be followed. All donors are instructed to eat and drink prior to the donation and to bring a photo ID. Those that have been exposed to or cared for a positive COVID-19 patient within 28 days prior to the drive are not eligible to donate.

A screening will take place on the ground level before donors enter the lobby outside the ballpark.

All donors will receive two FREE BlueClaws tickets for the 2023 season and be a BlueClaws VIP experience for 20 people that includes a Luxury Suite and 20 Boardwalk and Mini Golf passes.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment.

BlueClaws Baseball Is For Everyone – Team to Host Third Pride Night on June 3rd

May 18, 2022

Here is a link to the original story on the team's website.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – BlueClaws baseball is for everyone! That continues to be the team’s message as the BlueClaws prepare for their third Pride Night, to be held on Friday, June 3rd. Pride Night at ShoreTown Ballpark is presented by Coca-Cola.

The BlueClaws held their first Pride Night, presented by Coca-Cola, in 2019 in front of a capacity, sold-out crowd, and despite pandemic-restrictions, held another successful event in 2021.

“We consider ourselves to be a very open and inclusive organization and proud member of the community,” said BlueClaws Team President Joe Ricciutti. “We want to show the LGBT community that they are, and always will be, welcome at BlueClaws games!”

“It seems so simple–players should be judged on their athletic ability–not by who they love or how they identify. Unfortunately, the sports world can often be the deepest, darkest place in the closet. That’s why Garden State Equality is proud to partner with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws on their annual Pride Night–an evening that sends a message of positivity to LGBTQ people and their families,” said Christian Fuscarino, executive director of Garden State Equality. You have to imagine how inspiring it is for all those young kids sitting in the stands—who might be gay or transgender—when they look up and see their home team saying: ‘It’s okay to be who you are. We support you.’ That’s life changing.”

Pride Night includes a BlueClaws Pride Night cap giveaway for the first 1,500 fans that will be handed out beginning when the gates open at 6:00 pm. Fans are encouraged to stay for post-game fireworks.

Order Tickets: Order tickets online by clicking here.

The BlueClaws will also be wearing special jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game.

“BlueClaws games are about a fun night out with your friends, family, and colleagues. It’s about relaxing, laughing, and having a great time together. This notion has nothing to do with sexual orientation, race, gender, or economic status. It’s a universal notion of affordable, wholesome entertainment. It’s nice to be able to celebrate that with the community.”

Food specials that night include Rainbow Layer Cake in ShoreTown Soft Serve with drink specials available in the Sand Bar and Blue Wave Bar.

Additional resources will be made available for fans at the game. Those interested in attending the night or partnering with the BlueClaws are encouraged to email [email protected].

“This is an event were are most excited to bring back after being unable to host camp over the last few years,” said Kayla Reilly, BlueClaws Director of Events & Operations. “We have four great sessions and the young players will learn in a professional environment right on the same field on which the BlueClaws play!”

Below, find the schedule for the BlueClaws Youth Baseball Camp:

  • Session 1: July 7th – July 8th (two days), $114.49
  • Session 2: August 4th – August 5th (two days), $114.49
  • Session 3: August 16th – August 19th (four days), $197.38
  • Session 4: August 23rd – August 25th (three days), $155.93

All registration is done online and can be made by clicking here.

Instruction will include pitching, fielding, and hitting. Campers will use the field as well as the batting cage inside the ballpark. All players should bring their own glove.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment. Over two decades at the Shore, the BlueClaws have drawn over 7.9 million fans. In 2018, the team added the nine hole Manasquan Bank Mini Golf Course, the Boardwalk, and Sand Bar to enhance the Jersey Shore experience within the stadium. This year, the BlueClaws opened the Blue Wave Bar, a full service bar/restaurant on the Luxury Suite level that is open to every fan at every game.

BlueClaws Collecting Diapers at May 5th Game

April 26, 2022

Here is a link to the original story on the team's website.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – The BlueClaws are partnering with Child Care Resources on a Diaper Drive at the 6:35 pm game on Thursday, May 5th.

Fans can drop off diapers at the ballpark that night at a trailer along the third base concourse behind Section 110. The diapers will then be distributed throughout the Jersey Shore by Child Care Resources.

“There is indeed a strong need for diapers around the Jersey Shore and we’re happy to help collect diapers and raise awareness for the need,” said Jim McNamara, executive director of BlueClaws Charities. “We’re fortunate enough to work with a great organization in Child Care Resources and help them with their year-round efforts.”

Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers, to remain clean, dry, and healthy. Unlike other basic needs such as food and heat, there are no government ‘safety net’ programs that help families obtain diapers. Kim Perrelli, Executive Director of Child Care Resources explains that providing diapers to a family in need can lead to outcomes like “an increase in parental happiness and a reduction in stress. It also helps with the ability to spend income on other basic needs.”

Click here to order tickets for the May 5th game.

May 5th is also a Thirsty Thursday, presented by 95.9 WRAT. Fans can enjoy $2 Coors & Coors Light cans both in the Sand Bar and ballpark wide. The Thirsty Thursday Club provides fans with 10 undated tickets. These can be used in any denomination. Click here for additional information on the Thirsty Thursday Club or call 732-901-7000 option 3.

Home Runs For Heroes Reaches Half-Million in Donations

April 11, 2022

Here is a link to the original story on the team's website.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – When DJ Stewart homered on Saturday onto the grass berm above the left field wall at ShoreTown Ballpark, it meant far more than the first BlueClaws home run of the year, and Stewart’s 16th professional home run. This particular blast brought OceanFirst Foundation’s donations to $500,000 in the history of the Home Runs for Heroes Program.

Home Runs for Heroes, which began in 2009, pairs military-based non-profit charities and charitable programs with each of the nine innings in a game. Each BlueClaws home run hit at ShoreTown Ballpark means a $1,000 donation for the corresponding organization(s). Since select innings have multiple organizations tied in, some home runs, including Stewart’s on Saturday, generate $2,000 in donations.

“OceanFirst Foundation is excited to be back for a 14th season of Home Runs for Heroes alongside our long-time partners – the Jersey Shore BlueClaws and Townsquare Media. This year, we have 14 amazing charity partners that serve our nation’s military heroes and veterans in times of need,” said Katherine Durante, Executive Director of the OceanFirst Foundation. “We are honored to be able to give back to our heroes through this program and wish the BlueClaws another record-breaking season!”

Stewart’s home run came in the fourth inning, raising $1,000 each for both Chariot Riders and the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Fund.

“On behalf of Townsquare Media and its shore radio stations (92.7 WOBM, 94.3 The Point, 105.7 The Hawk, Cat Country 96.7/104.1) as well as our Shore Sports Network we are honored to be part of this program again,” said Kevin Williams, Director of the Shore Sports Network. “Home Runs for Heroes not only provides financial support for these amazing organizations but it allows them to have a greater presence in the community so the public is aware of what they do for former and active duty military members and their families.”

Entering this year, OceanFirst Foundation had donated $499,000, including over $90,000 last year alone when the BlueClaws hit a franchise record 52 longballs at home

This year’s participating charities are as follows:

  • 1st Inning – American National Red Cross
  • 2nd Inning – Army Emergency Relief
  • 3rd Inning – Catholic Charities (Diocese of Trenton), Ma Deuce Deuce
  • 4th Inning – Chariot Riders, Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Fund
  • 5th Inning – Vetwork, Navy-Marine Corps Relief
  • 6th Inning – National Guard State Family Readiness Council, GI Go Fund
  • 7th Inning – Cape May Coast Guard Foundation, Jewish Federation of Southern Ocean County
  • 8th Inning – Deborah Hospital Foundation
  • 9th Inning (and Extras) – Homes for All

“Military organizations and programs are of such high importance to the BlueClaws, and we’re proud to be a part of this program,” said BlueClaws Team President Joe Ricciutti. “When the BlueClaws hit home runs here at ShoreTown Ballpark, they don’t just help our team win, but they provide material support to our military heroes. Here’s to a summer of home runs!”

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment. Since their 2001 inception, they have drawn over 7.8 million fans. In 2018, the team added the Manasquan Bank Mini Golf course and boardwalk games to the offerings. They re-branded to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws heading into the 2021 season.

Welcome to clubphilanthropy.com!

Minor League Baseball clubs have been actively involved in their communities for many years. For the first time, their activities and contributions will be chronicled on this site.

Clubs don’t publicize all of their activity, so these stories represent a mere fraction of the contributions MiLB clubs make to their communities every year.
