WooSox Foundation “Care-A-Van” to Debut Throughout Worcester This Weekend, Presented by Bank of America

New, large vehicle will provide free COVID-19 tests as well as gifts at Gates Lane Elementary School, Net of Compassion, and Worcester Public Library.



WORCESTER, MA — This upcoming weekend, the WooSox Foundation will debut its “Care-A-Van,” presented by Bank of America, while providing gifts and performing acts of goodwill at locations throughout the Heart of the Commonwealth.

This afternoon from 12:45 – 1:30 p.m., the Foundation will visit students at Gates Lane Elementary School at 1238 Main Street, where last week the Worcester Red Sox launched the “WooSox Mentors” program in partnership with Worcester Public Schools and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Massachusetts. The Foundation will bring small gifts for students and staff at the school, who will also be invited to tour the inside of the Care-A-Van.

Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., the Foundation will drive the Care-A-Van to Net of Compassion at 674 Main Street to donate blankets and other supplies. Net of Compassion is a nonprofit organization that directly provides food, clothing, shelter, showers, and recovery support to individuals on the streets of Worcester.

Afterward, the Care-A-Van will hand out 180 free COVID-19 tests (90 boxes) throughout the community, in partnership with the City’s Health and Human Services Department. Then, the Foundation will pass out small gifts at the Vaccine Equity Clinic taking place at Worcester Public Library, located at 3 Salem Square.

The inside of the Care-A-Van features a shower, toilet, sink, fridge, and couch. Books and clothing items will be stored inside as well.

The RV fits eight people while in motion but can accommodate up to 15 when stationary. The outside of the vehicle is wrapped by WooSox Foundation artwork, as well as the Bank of America logo, and the logo of Camping Word, where the RV was purchased.

Established on January 28, 2020, the WooSox Foundation comprises four pillars: education, social justice, conquering cancer, and diamond sports. The Care-A-Van will become a staple of the social justice pillar by expanding the Foundation’s presence within neighborhoods, groups, and communities in the City of Worcester and throughout Central Massachusetts. It will be used to deliver food, clothing, and other supplies, as well as a space to provide job readiness support, medical services, and other forms of aid.

The Care-A-Van’s ribbon cutting ceremony with members of the WooSox and Bank of America will be held in the coming weeks.

Hillsboro Hops and OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center Team Up to Provide Youth Vaccine Clinics

 

Hillsboro, OR. (December 8, 2021) – The Hillsboro Hops (@HillsboroHops) and OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center (@HillsboroMedCtr) today announced that they will be teaming up to provide the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to youth ages 5-18 this Sunday, December 12, at Ron Tonkin Field. Second doses will be given at a follow-up event on January 9, 2022. Both events will be held from 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

200 doses will be available at each vaccine clinic and appointments are required.

As part of the trip to Ron Tonkin Field, youth receiving the vaccine will get to visit the Hillsboro Hops clubhouse and they will also be treated to ice cream and a goodie bag once they have received the vaccine.

Bob Ross Night 4.0, Vaccine Drive, Fireworks part of ‘Tugas season-ending homestand

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Tortugas open their final homestand of the 2021 regular season on Tuesday, August 31, against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, the Single-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Among the highlights are a Bob Ross Night 4.0 extravaganza on Saturday, a Vaccination Drive on Wednesday, and the final Postgame Fireworks show of the campaign on Friday.

The Tortugas open up the set on Tuesday, August 31, with a Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Radiology Associates Imaging. Daytona players and coaches will don special pink-tinted uniforms to mark the occasion, as the organization raises money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Silver Sluggers Night — the best club in baseball for fans 60-and-over — presented by Conviva Cares Solutions will also be a part of the festivities. Drive, Prisma Partner on Next COVID-19 Vaccination Event September 1

 

The Greenville Drive, in partnership with Prisma Health, are set to host the latest COVID-19 vaccination event at Fluor Field Wednesday, September 1st as part of the Drive’s game against the Asheville Tourists. This will be the 5th vaccination event hosted at Fluor Field this season as the Drive, together with their long-time partner Prisma Health, set out to educate and protect the community from the ongoing challenges brought about by COVID-19.

Prisma will be administering the now FDA approved Pfizer vaccine.

With virus variants emerging and COVID once again surging in the community, getting vaccinated is more important than ever for the health & safety of our community.

The latest vaccination event at Fluor Field will take place from 6-8pm in the Power Alley hospitality area of the ballpark, directly inside the Main Street entrance to the stadium. No appointments are needed; vaccinations will be offered on a walk-up basis and administered by officials with Prisma Health. The Pfizer vaccine, which is now fully approved by the FDA, will be administered free of charge; those 12 years of age or older, needing their first or second dose, will be eligible. Wichita, KS – The Wichita Wind Surge announced that they will again partner with the Sedgwick County Health Department to host a series of COVID-19 vaccinations at their home games on August 6, August 28, and September 18. Vaccinations are free, with no proof of insurance required, and will be available to anyone age 12 or older attending the game on any of the respective dates.

Partnership Encourages Student Vaccinations August 3 & 5

 

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Hammons Field will be the host of the “Knock COVID Out of the Park” Vaccination Drives, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, during the Tuesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 5 games. This is a partnership between Springfield Public Schools (SPS), Springfield Cardinals, Springfield-Greene County Health Department, Mercy and Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.

The events are available for area students, ages 12 and up, and each student vaccinated at these drives will receive two free tickets to that night’s game, courtesy of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. All students receiving the vaccine must have a parent or legal guardian with them.

Any fan who would like more information about the COVID-19 vaccines will be able to learn more during the events from representatives with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Mercy and Springfield Greene-County Health Department.

Check-in for the vaccinations will be located on the Main Plaza, right outside of Gate 3 at Hammons Field, with vaccines available for two hours starting when gates open each night. In addition to the two free tickets, eligible students who get the vaccine during these drives will receive a free backpack or duffel bag while supplies last, courtesy of Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.

WooSox Bring Back Free Vaccines on Remaining Los Wepas de Worcester Nights

Club teams up with City of Worcester;

J&J vaccines will be available, along with Pfizer vaccines for ages 12-17

WORCESTER, MA – After partnering with the City of Worcester to successfully administer 275 vaccines at Polar Park earlier this season, the Worcester Red Sox will again make more vaccines available for fans at Polar Park during six of their remaining home games this season—all of which are “Los Wepas de Worcester” dates, when the WooSox change their uniforms and identity to enhance outreach to the Latino and Hispanic communities.

The games are this coming Tuesday, July 27 at 6:35 pm vs. Buffalo, Sunday, August 1 at 1:05 pm vs. Buffalo, Friday, August 13 at 6:35 pm vs. Syracuse, Saturday, August 14 at 4:05 pm vs. Syracuse, Wednesday, August 18 at 6:35 pm vs. Scranton/WB, and Tuesday, September 7 at 6:35 pm vs. Lehigh Valley.

Anyone who wishes to receive a vaccine during these select home games will be given a complimentary General Admission ticket to that day’s game at the Ticket Office, along with a free WooSox cap, and they’ll be guided by a WooSox ambassador to the concourse at Polar Park where the vaccines will be administered by City of Worcester health officials. Fans who already have tickets to these games and would like a vaccine can simply check in with any WooSox staff member when gates open.

“Roughly 35% of Worcester’s Hispanic and Latino population have been fully vaccinated here in the city, and we must continue to do everything we can to get our community vaccinated,” said Dr. Matilde Castiel, Commissioner of Health & Human Services for the City of Worcester. “We are grateful that the WooSox continue to open their doors at Polar Park for members of our community, and we also look forward to providing a vaccine for anyone who still needs to get a vaccine.”

The WooSox and the City of Worcester will now be offering a Pfizer vaccine for anyone ages 12 and older. When vaccines were administered at Polar Park during the club’s first homestand in June, only a one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine was available for those 18 and older, and the WooSox and City of Worcester look forward to using the Pfizer vaccine to reach a broader age group.

FREE VACCINE CLINIC: During Thursday’s Game

 

The Fort Wayne TinCaps are partnering with Parkview Health to offer free COVID-19 vaccines during the TinCaps game on Thursday, July 1, at Parkview Field.

A pop-up vaccination clinic will be open from 6:05 to 8:30 p.m. inside the Lincoln Financial Event Center, located on the right-field concourse of Parkview Field. Two hundred doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be available to ticketholders on a first-come, first-served basis. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is currently approved for individuals 18 and older.

Everyone who gets a vaccine during the game will receive a gift card from the TinCaps in appreciation.

“The health and well-being of our fans is our top priority,” said Michael Limmer, TinCaps vice president of marketing. “After losing our 2020 season, we know that getting vaccination rates up and infection rates down in our community are the keys to a return to normalcy. We are excited to host Parkview Health’s pop-up vaccination clinic on Thursday, and we hope the 200 doses go fast!”

Cardinals offering free tickets in Match Program for Healthcare Workers

I LOVE the Springfield area. It’s home to my family, my parents, my in-laws and my friends. It’s where I graduated high school, where I’ve worked for the Cardinals for 16 years and where my wife and I choose to raise our two awesome sons. So I want to do everything I can to help our community increase their vaccination numbers for three reasons: For the health of our citizens. To support our healthcare heroes. And, because the Ozarks are only the Ozarks because of the people who live here.

For those reasons, the Springfield Cardinals will be pledging 1,000 pairs of tickets to a COVID-19 vaccination program run through the Springfield-Greene County Health Department to encourage people to vaccinate, where each vaccinated individual will leave with two tickets in hand to a 2021 Cardinals game at Hammons Field. Starting Monday, the next 1,000 people to be vaccinated at a Springfield-Greene County Health Department clinic are eligible. For every person vaccinated through the program, the Cardinals will also donate a pair of tickets to a local healthcare worker, because they deserve the downtime to relax at a ballgame.

If any of you are like the Springfield Cardinals staff and me, sometimes you feel overwhelmed with the saddening and worsening reports of sickness and over-strained health care workers, and you just don’t know what you can do to help. I appreciate everything that Mercy, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, the City of Springfield and CoxHealth have done to help us so far. But now seems like the time to try something new, and I don’t know about you all, but I LOVE being incentivized! So that’s what the Springfield Cardinals will try to do, starting with a total of 4,000 possible tickets to donate for our friends, family and neighbors throughout Southwest Missouri to get vaccinated.

Free COVID-19 Vaccinations to be Available Friday at ONEOK Field

 

The Muscogee Nation Department of Health, in partnership with the Tulsa Drillers, will be offering free COVID-19 vaccinations at ONEOK Field prior to and during the Drillers game on Friday, June 25. The vaccinations are available for everyone who is interested in getting vaccinated.

The Muscogee Nation Department of Health will have a mobile medical unit located just outside the First Base Gate at ONEOK Field on Elgin Avenue from 5:30 – 8:30pm.

A ticket to the game is NOT required in order to receive the vaccination.

The Muscogee Nation is presenting the Friday Night Fireworks Show following the Drillers game with the Springfield Cardinals on Friday night.

Captains to host vaccine clinic June 18

 

 

(Eastlake, OH) – The Lake County Captains have partnered with the Lake County Department of Health to make COVID-19 vaccines available at Classic Park this Friday, June 18. Vaccines will be administered during the Captains game against the West Michigan Whitecaps.

Fans may pre-register at the link below. Those fans who pre-register can pick up their ticket at the Will Call window of the Classic Park Box Office on Friday using their photo ID. Walk-in appointments will also be available. Fans will be able to choose between receiving a dose of the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The Anthem Game Changer program recognizes essential workers, and their organizations, for the relentless commitment to the community during the pandemic. Their selfless efforts to provide necessities such as food, education, and emergency medical support throughout Covid-19 are immeasurable. Katherine’s Story

When the pandemic shut the world down last spring, essential personnel rose to the occasion to provide critical needs for our community. The selfless efforts of these people ensured access to necessities such as food, education, and emergency medical support. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio and the Dayton Dragons highlight Katherine Stewart and her employer, Kroger, for being Game Changers during COVID-19.

In the spring of 2020, Katherine started as a Clerk at her local Kroger. After a couple months, her employer noticed her leadership skills and promoted her to Store Lead. As a Store Lead, Katherine saw firsthand how the pandemic affected her shoppers. Many customers felt uncomfortable in public and were paralyzed by the potential to hurt themselves or their loved ones.

As many were met with an inability to get their groceries, Katherine knew she wanted to help. She applied for the E-Commerce Supervisor position and was quickly promoted. As an E-Commerce Supervisor, Katherine oversees 20 associates who assist customers with their online shopping and provide them a safe, no-contact, pickup. Katherine believes that helping others is what she was meant to do, especially when that help is making sure her community is secure in their food source.

Outside of work, Katherine continues to lead as an example in the community. When she is not shopping for her customers, Katherine invests her time with her _Anything’s Pawsible Animal Rescue Center_, rings bells for the Salvation Army during the holidays, and is on the Senior Citizens Task Force in Clark County. On top of her already busy life, Katherine also home schools her five children who range from age 5 to 15.

BlueClaws, RWJBarnabas Health to Partner on Vaccine Clinic at Ballpark June 9th 

 

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – The Jersey Shore BlueClaws and RWJBarnabas Health announced today that they will jointly host vaccination clinic at the BlueClaws game on Wednesday, June 9th at FirstEnergy Park.

Fans that pre-register through this link will be able to come to the ballpark beginning at 4:30 pm before the BlueClaws 7:05 pm game against Wilmington (Nationals). Vaccine shots will be set up on the lawn outside the stadium. Walk-ins will also be accepted though fans are encouraged to pre-register.

Second shots of the Moderna vaccine will be administered on June 30th, also at the ballpark.
