BlueClaws to Host RWJBarnabas Health Blood Drive on January 13th

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – The BlueClaws and RWJBarnabas Health will partner on a special blood drive to be held at FirstEnergy Park on Wednesday, January 13th from 11:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Registration is strongly encouraged and can be made by clicking here or calling 732-235-8100 ext 221 or 248. There is limited availability within each 15-minute time slot to ensure social distancing protocols will be followed.

While the need for blood is typically highest in the summer, the COVID-19 pandemic has further depleted the blood supply, making drives like these all the more important.

All donors are instructed to eat and drink prior to the donation and to bring a photo ID. Masks or cloth face coverings are required for entry. Those that have been exposed to or cared for a positive COVID-19 patient within 28 days prior to the drive are not eligible to donate.

A screening will take place on the ground level before donors enter the lobby outside the ballpark.

All donors will receive two complimentary BlueClaws tickets and a commemorative t-shirt. Donors will also be entered to win a $50 gift card and a BlueClaws VIP experience for 20 that includes a night in a Luxury Suite, a ceremonial first pitch, and 20 boardwalk and mini golf passes.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment.

Paws & Claus event set for Saturday, December 12th

The Reading Fightin Phils are excited to team up with Humane Pennsylvania for their exciting Paws & Claus event this Saturday, December 12th from 12-3pm. Spike’s Pet Pantry is seeking donations to help keep their shelves well-stocked for our four-legged friends in need. Additionally, the Fightins Team Store will be open for holiday gifts, including R-Phils merchandise and discounted 2021 ticket books. Join us at America’s Classic Ballpark to support Humane Pennsylvania and the R-Phils.

The magnitude of this event cannot be understated. Due to the pandemic, there has been a higher than normal need for pet food. From 12-3pm, community members will have the opportunity to donate pet food and in exchange will receive a complimentary family photo with Santa in front of his tiny house. The event will run as a drive thru food donation drop off in the parking lot of FirstEnergy Stadium. Everyone is asked to remain in their vehicle throughout the donation process. Then, each family will be escorted to take their photo with Santa. Families can remove their masks for the photo, but must put them back on immediately after. Pups are encouraged to join in on the photo, but will not be able to be taken off leash or in the photo by themselves. Through your generosity, Humane Pennsylvania is looking forward to filling their truck for the animals in need in our community!

Anyone who donates will also be given a 10% off coupon for the Fightins Team Store, presented by Steve Moyer Subaru. The store will be open for the entirety of the event for all your holiday shopping needs. The RPhils are excited to feature new gear while still showcasing traditional ballpark merchandise. There is a hat, sweatshirt, or jersey for everyone on your Christmas list! And, set your sights on the 2021 season by purchasing a ticket book or flex bank package. For a limited time, holiday deals are available!

“This event will provide much-needed Christmas cheer to the community, but also help us stock Spike’s Pet Pantry,” said Lauren Henderson, Director of Events & Corporate Relations at Humane Pennsylvania. “Everyone is encouraged to stop by FirstEnergy Stadium with a bag of dog and/or cat food between 12-3pm and receive a complimentary family photo with Santa! This year alone Spike’s Pet Pantry has donated over 268,000 pounds of pet food to pet caretakers in need. Paws & Claus will be a fun and significant event to benefit the community. BlueClaws Charities Christmas Cruise-Thru on December 12th

Drive-through event to include appearance by Santa; toy drive to benefit Salvation Army of Ocean County

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – Santa Claws is coming to the Jersey Shore! BlueClaws Charities will host their first Christmas Cruise-Thru in the parking lot of FirstEnergy Park on Saturday, December 12th from 10 am until 12 pm. The event, which takes place exclusively in vehicles, serves as a toy drive benefiting the Salvation Army of Ocean County.

This event replaces the annual _Breakfast With Buster Holiday Food & Toy Drive_, which could not be held this year in its traditional form due to COVID-19 regulations.

Beginning at 10 am, cars will pull into the lot at FirstEnergy Park and stop at four different stations.

  1. Item Collection – we will be collecting unwrapped toys and non-perishable food to benefit the Salvation Army of Ocean County.
  2. Letters to Santa – children are encouraged to bring letters for Santa. We’ll collect them and send them off to the North Pole!
  3. Picture with Buster and Santa – Santa and Buster will take a picture in front of each car, which we’ll then email to everyone after the event.
  4. Hot Chocolate – the BlueClaws will deliver hot chocolate to each car as a thank you for their participation.

“We’ve welcomed Santa to FirstEnergy Park for the last two decades, and while we can’t do that in the traditional manner this year, we wanted to still offer local families the chance to see Santa and for kids to drop off their letters,” said BlueClaws Team President Joe Ricciutti. “Plus, our community has been immensely supportive of the Salvation Army and their food and toy drive over the years, and that is especially important in 2020.”

Each vehicle will also receive a coupon code that can be used online for 25% off in the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Team Store. Orders must be placed by December 16th to ensure Christmas delivery.

Fans will never leave their vehicle at the event. BlueClaws staff members will be wearing masks at all times.

Donate a Turkey

Turkey Drive sponsored by Provident Bank to be held at Coca-Cola Park

Turkeys will be brought to New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem, PA and donated to families in need

Allentown, Pennsylvania (3 November 2020) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Provident Bank and New Bethany Ministries are partnering to hold a Turkey Drive on Thursday, November 19 from 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Coca-Cola Park. Guests will be able to drive up and donate a Thanksgiving turkey! The turkeys will be collected then transported over to New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem, PA courtesy of Provident Bank. New Bethany Ministries has set its goal to a quantity of 750 turkeys to collect and distribute to those in need (frozen, 10-12 lb. turkeys preferred).

“COVID-19 continues to have an impact and with the holidays approaching, this is a wonderful opportunity for people to provide a Thanksgiving Turkey to people throughout the Lehigh Valley,” said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. “We are excited to partner with Provident Bank for this great event and hope many people donate a turkey this Thanksgiving season. Normally I am 100% focused on pork, but for this one day it’s all about turkeys!”

This is Provident Bank’s fourth consecutive year hosting a frozen turkey collection. The idea was originated by Senior Vice President/Lending Relationship Manager Bob Price who sits on the board of New Bethany Ministries. This is also the fourth consecutive year that the refrigerated truck that transports the turkeys to New Bethany Ministries, is donated by Tom Mesko, a longtime friend and customer of Provident Bank.

“We’re proud to partner with New Bethany Ministries and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on this important initiative to support families of the Lehigh Valley. Involvement with the communities we serve and helping those in need is fundamental at Provident Bank,” said Chris Martin, Chairman and CEO.

Provident Bank employees will be available for curbside collection of donations outside of the Provident Bank Ticket Office at Coca-Cola Park. All participating employees will be wearing masks as well as abiding by social distancing guidelines and a daily health check. The first 500 turkey donors on Thursday, November 19 will receive a commemorative oven mitt. A 10% coupon to the Clubhouse Store for Thursday, November 19 only, will be provided to anyone who donates a turkey.

“We are truly grateful for the outpouring of support from our community of volunteers and donors, especially now, our clients who experience poverty, hunger and homelessness need our support more than ever,” said Marc Rittle, Executive Director of New Bethany Ministries.

New Bethany Ministries, located in Bethlehem, PA offers hope and support to people who experience poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

LVHN Flu Drive

Lehigh Valley Health Network to host Flu Drive at Coca-Cola Park

The flu drive will be held on Sunday, November 8 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Allentown, Pennsylvania (30 October 2020) – Lehigh Valley Health Network will be hosting a flu drive at Coca-Cola Park on Sunday, November 8 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. This will be the 23rd straight year Lehigh Valley Health Network will administer free seasonal flu vaccinations for adults and children. For the past 22 years, 180,000 free flu shots have been administered by LVHN’s community influenza vaccination campaign.

In order for guests to receive their free flu vaccine, they must complete and print a consent form for each person being vaccinated and review the vaccine information sheet. This information can be found by going to lvhn.org/flu shot or requested by calling 888-402-LVHN (5846). In addition, Lehigh Valley Health Network is asking those who are requesting to receive a flu shot to wear loose-fitting clothing for the shot to be administered in the arm, and the leg of children under two years old.

In conjunction with the flu drive, Lehigh Valley Health Network is partnering with food banks and shelters throughout the Lehigh Valley to accept donations of unexpired, non-perishable food items during each of the drive-thru sessions. Over the last 22 years, more than 140,000 pounds of food have been collected for food banks throughout the Lehigh Valley. Food donations are optional and not required to receive a shot. Lehigh Valley Health Network is urging those to check the expiration date and only bring items that have not expired and are non-perishable. In addition, other items such as diapers, personal hygiene products, coffee pods and wipes will be accepted.

Pet Food Drive at Coca-Cola Park

Pet Food Drive to be held at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday, November 7

Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center are looking for pet food donations starting today

Allentown, Pennsylvania (26 October 2020) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Valley Central Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center are partnering to hold a Pet Food Drive on Saturday, November 7 from 9-11 a.m. at Coca-Cola Park. The IronPigs and Valley Central Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center are looking for generosity in donation from the community to help families in need to help feed their pets.

“We are excited to once again to partner with Valley Central Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center to host a pet food drive here at Coca-Cola Park,” said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. “Pet owners and their pets have been impacted by COVID-19 and this pet food drive will provide an opportunity to help families in need to help feed their pets.”

Valley Central Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center has created a wish list for families the pet food will be donated to and are asking those who will be donating to visit the wish list. The link can be found by clicking here. Guests can begin to visit the wish list starting today. Guests will be able to select either dog or cat food plus canned or bagged dry food if they choose to donate via the wish list. Any non-wish list donations will also be accepted. In-person donations are welcome and are to be made at Coca-Cola Park. Guests must call the IronPigs Front Office at 610-841-7447 upon arrival to the ballpark. Donations can be made starting immediately and continue all the way up to the morning of the event. Guests can make their donations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Pet food redemptions will begin on Wednesday, November 4. A link will be provided via the IronPigs social media pages as well as an email shortly prior to November 4. For guests who redeem via the link provided by the IronPigs, will receive a confirmation on the time frame they are to arrive at Coca-Cola Park and have the food put into their car.

Upon arrival on Saturday, November 7, guests will be directed by IronPigs staff members to the pick-up area outside the West Ballpark entrance. Guests will need to show their confirmation for pick-up and must remain in their vehicle. They are to pop open their trunk for an IronPigs or Valley Central Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center staff member to place their food. Staff members will be wearing protective masks and following all social distancing guidelines.

FirstEnergy Stadium to Host 14th Annual Eastern PA Toy Run

(Reading, PA) – FirstEnergy Stadium will welcome the 14th Annual Eastern PA Toy Run, presented by Classic Harley-Davidson, on Sunday, November 1st from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tompkins VIST Bank Plaza.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program and The Children’s Home of Reading. Bikers will come from Classic Harley-Davidson and present a new, unwrapped toy in exchange for a free Berks Hot Dog and hot chocolate.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a toy of any value or make a monetary donation that will be used to purchase additional toys for children.

The Grand Slam Grill and the Yuengling Tap Room will be open for classic ballpark food and drink. In addition, the Steve Moyer Subaru Fightin Phils Team Store will be open during the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Motorcycle registration for the Toy Run will begin at 9 a.m. at Classic Harley-Davidson. The ride will depart from Classic Harley-Davidson on Route 183 at 11 a.m. and will follow a direct route to America’s Classic Ballpark arriving at approximately 11:30. All motorcycles, Jeeps, and classic cars are welcome to participate in the Eastern PA Toy Run with a donation of an unwrapped toy.

The Eastern PA Toy Run began in 2007 after the Berks County Toys for Tots motorcycle run was nearly cancelled due to the deployment of the Marine Corps Reserve Unit. Multiple motorcycle runs combined and teamed with the Fightin Phils in order to continue benefitting Toys for Tots in Berks and Lebanon counties as well as The Children’s Home of Reading.

BooClaws Spooktacular Comes to FirstEnergy Park on October 30th

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – Get ready for a spooky night out with the family and celebrate Halloween with the BlueClaws on Friday, October 30th. The first BooClaws Spooktacular, presented by RWJBarnabas Health, NJR Home Services and the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore comes to FirstEnergy Park with gates opening at 6:00 pm.

The team will screen Hocus Pocus on the 1,857 square-foot video board beginning at 7:00 pm.

Additionally, the night includes a costume parade for kids, and fun, safe, and low-contact trick-or-treating with food provided by Bimbo Bakeries featuring Takis and Entenmann’s, plus additional candy from Hershey’s.

TICKET INFORMATION – Tickets are just $10 and includes popcorn plus soda or water. CLICK HERE to order online.

Due to current state regulations regarding outdoor gatherings, only 450 tickets will be sold.

“This is certainly a unique Halloween around the Shore, but the BlueClaws are excited to help do what we can to provide a fun and safe option for families,” said BlueClaws Team President Joe Ricciutti. “We look forward to a spooky, fun, and safe Halloween!”

Everyone is encouraged to come dressed up. Fans are permitted to bring lawn chairs or blankets to watch the movie from the field.

All kids will automatically be signed up for Home Run Membership in the BlueClaws Kids Club, and five random kids will win a 5-Game BlueClaws Mini Plan for the 2021 season.

Masks are required when moving about the ballpark, while in line for entrance or food, while in the restrooms, or in the team store. Groups must be seated in a socially-distant manner, at least 6-feet from other groups. Fans are permitted to sit either in the stands or on the field. Utilities Employees Credit Union to Host Halloween for Baseballtown Dream League

Baseballtown Charities and the Reading Fightin Phils are excited to give members of the Baseballtown Dream League a safe opportunity to Trick-or-Treat this Halloween. The event will take place on the Savage 61 Dream League field thanks to Utilities Employees Credit Union.

On Saturday, October 31st people with special needs are invited to dress up in costume and participate in a Halloween event. From 12-2pm, they will have the opportunity to experience the holiday in a safe and friendly environment. It will be filled with lots of fun and candy! Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

“Baseballtown Charities is excited to present a Halloween event to engage members of the Dream League! This is a great opportunity to spend some time outdoors in a safe, community environment,” said Jenna Lawville, the Extra Events and Baseballtown Charities Manager.

The event caters towards people with special needs who could benefit from having a set up at a handicap accessible facility. It gives the Baseballtown Dream League the chance to experience a classic Trick-OR-Treating environment complete with candy galore.

Greg Cosgrove, the Marketing Manager of Utilities Employees Credit Union, notes the significance of participating in this event. “Our employees are very excited to be a part of this special event with the Reading Fightin Phils and the Dream League community. As a credit union, we whole-heartedly believe in living the credit union mantra of “people helping people” and volunteering in the communities we serve. This past year has been challenging for families, and we hope this event will give them a fun family outing they can enjoy together.”

Baseballtown Charities is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded to keep baseball alive in Reading so youngsters can benefit from the many life lessons the game teaches.

Baseballtown Charities’ Dream League is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Reading, Pa. that focuses on making dreams come true one pitch at a time. IronPigs look to ‘sell out’ Coca-Cola Park

The IronPigs are looking to sell out Coca-Cola Park this October as they will be teaming up with Olympus Corporation of the Americas and Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute to host a “Virtual Strike Out Cancer” throughout the month of October. The event will run through Saturday, October 31.

“We are honored to be teaming up with Olympus and Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute to host the virtual Strike Out Cancer throughout all of October,” said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. “This will be a great way to recognize those battling cancer and their families, along with cancer support organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley.”

The “Virtual Strike Out Cancer” will raise awareness and support for cancer patients, their families, and cancer support organizations in the Lehigh Valley. Fans are encouraged to submit photos of their loved ones (past and present) – those they will Stand Up to Cancer for. The IronPigs will share these photos on their social media platforms, with a special Strike Out Cancer frame around their loved one’s photo.

Safe Trick-OR-Treat & Halloween Movie Night at FirstEnergy Stadium, Presented by T-Mobile

“It’s A Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” movie will air for families on FirstEnergy Vision video board

The Reading Fightin Phils are excited to offer a safe Trick-or-Treat opportunity for the community. On Friday, October 30th, fans can experience a socially safe Halloween at FirstEnergy Stadium filled with lots of fun, candy, and the perfect movie.

Limited passes will be available for this event for only $2, guests are recommended to buy them in advance. Passes may be purchased at bit.ly/3l4vpPF. A portion of the proceeds will go to Baseballtown Charities.

The gates will open at 5:00pm, with the Trick-or-Treating scheduled running from 5-6:30. “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” movie will begin at approximately 6:30pm. The run time is 25 minutes.

All attendees are encouraged to dress in costume or Halloween attire. R-Phils classic ballpark concessions will be open for dinner and drinks along with merchandise store.

The organization is committed to bringing exciting events to the ballpark this fall. This is a great opportunity to spend some time outdoors in a safe, community environment. Don’t miss out on one of the last events at the ballpark this season!

The Williamsport Crosscutters have announced a free trick or treating event for children and their families. Boomer’s Drive-Thru Trick or Treat will take place in the parking lot of BB&T Ballpark on Halloween night from 6pm-8pm presented in part by Backyard Broadcasting.

The event will be hosted by Boomer, the Cutters popular mascot, and give children age 14 and under in costume, the opportunity for a fun, safe trick or treating experience. Over a dozen other exhibitors, including some of Boomer’s mascot buddies, are slated to be part of Boomer’s Drive-Thru Trick or Treat.

Crosscutters Vice-President of Marketing and Public Relations Gabe Sinicropi stated, “With COVID-19 impacting many of the usual Halloween activities in our area, we simply wanted to give children and their families a safe way to do some trick or treating.”

All participants will be required to stay inside their vehicle as they receive treats from the Williamsport Crosscutters and other area businesses. CDC Halloween recommendations will be observed including;

· All exhibitors wearing protective masks and gloves

· All candy individually wrapped and in treat bags

· No-contact trick or treating where children (or parents) pick up the treat bag instead of it being handed to them

Those attending the event are asked to enter the BB&T Ballpark lot via the 4th St. entrance only. Cars will exit at the back of the stadium on Bieber St.

OceanFirst Foundation Honors Non-Profits as Part of Home Runs for Heroes

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – OceanFirst Foundation made donations to 16 organizations that support military personnel on Friday as part of an adjusted version of the Home Runs for Heroes program. The ceremony took place during the Party in the Park fireworks event at FirstEnergy Park.

Since 2009, OceanFirst Foundation has donated to non-profit organizations for each BlueClaws home run hit at FirstEnergy Park. Despite the 2020 season being canceled, the organization still to 16 organizations.

The following organizations received a donation from OceanFirst Foundation.

Baseballtown Charities ‘Dinner Under the Stars’ Set for October 3rd

The Reading Fightin Phils are pleased to announce the Baseballtown Charities Dinner Under the Stars. The fifth annual event will be held on the field at FirstEnergy Stadium. Enjoy a wonderful night outdoors and support a great cause!

Tickets are $100 per person with the cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 and the dinner at 6:30. All attendees are encouraged to wear white attire to match the ‘Beisbol Blanco’ theme!

Join us for a night of entertainment from Erich Cawalla and the Uptown Band. The R-Phils are proud to have partnered with Willoughby’s on Park, The Berkshire County Club, Crowne Plaza Reading, and Redner’s Markets for the night’s cuisine. FirstEnergy Stadium will be spectacularly decorated by Dave Reppert through Wishes Entertaining & Event Design.
