SeaWolves Team with UPMC Hamot to Host Vaccine Clinic

The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, have teamed with UPMC Hamot to host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic during their game against the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians) on Friday, May 14 at UPMC Park. Game time is 6:05 p.m.

Ticket holders (ages 12 & older) can receive a Pfizer vaccine between 4:30-6:30 PM in the new Celebration Cove picnic area, located inside the main gate entry plaza of UPMC Park. No appointment is necessary. Attendees must have a ticket to the game to enter.

Captain’s Club Members can enter UPMC Park Gate #2 at 4:30 PM. UPMC Park’s Main Entry Gate #1 will open at 4:45 PM. Each individual who receives their Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at the May 14 game will receive a voucher for a free Smith’s hot dog, chips, and a drink, redeemable at any SeaWolves home game this month. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

“We are thrilled to partner with UPMC Hamot to help get Erie County vaccinated,” SeaWolves Team President Greg Coleman said. “It’s been wonderful to welcome fans back to UPMC Park, and we’re thankful to all the healthcare heroes for making it possible.”

Aces, Washoe County Health District to provide free vaccines at Opening Day

RENO, Nev. – The Reno Aces and Washoe County Health District are partnering to offer free vaccines at Greater Nevada Field for all attending fans on Opening Day. The vaccines will be administered on the concourse.

“We appreciate ourpartnership withReno Aces and hope fans will take advantage of this convenient opportunity to receive the vaccine,” said Kevin Dick, District Health Officer for Washoe County. “Getting back to normal means enjoying a day at Greater Nevada Field without fear of contracting or spreading COVID-19. The COVID-19 vaccine can help that cause. Plus, there might not be a better place in Washoe County to get the COVID-19 vaccine than Greater Nevada Field.”

“We have worked closely with the Washoe County Health District throughout the pandemic to return our fans to Greater Nevada Field,” said Aces president Eric Edelstein. “Getting our community vaccinated is the most important last step to returning our lives to normal and we’re thrilled to help in that effort at Aces games this season.”

The station will be behind section 115 in the stadium, and will run for the entirety of the game, with Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) available.

Blue Wahoos Partner With FDOH-Escambia To Offer In-Game Vaccines

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County, will offer free COVID-19 vaccines to fans at their games on Tuesday, May 11th, Saturday, May 15th, and Sunday, May 16th. Single-shot vaccines will be available to medically-eligible fans ages 18 and up and will be administered by Department of Health nurses.

“We’re so excited for the opportunity to work together with the Florida Department of Health to offer vaccines to our fans,” team president Jonathan Griffith said. “Helping get Pensacola vaccinated meets our mission as an organization to improve the quality of life in our community. I’m so excited about this chance that I’ve committed to get vaccinated myself on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch while singing Take Me Out To The Ballpark!”

No appointments will be necessary for fans attending the games. 500 vaccine doses will be available at the ballpark in first-come, first serve fashion.

“This collaboration with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos is not only a great opportunity to increase vaccinations in our community but also a model of the vital role that partnerships play in our public health system,” Marie Mott, health officer and administrator for FDOH-Escambia, said. “The COVID-19 vaccine is an important tool to stop the spread of COVID-19, and I encourage all eligible persons to get vaccinated.”

Mount Carmel and Columbus Clippers Offer COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Columbus, Ohio – “Take me out to the ball game; take me out to get my COVID-19 shot.”

It may not be how the old song goes, but that’s how the Columbus Clippers and Mount Carmel will be celebrating the return of baseball to the Arena District in downtown Columbus next week.

From Tuesday, May 11th through Sunday, May 16th — the Clippers’ first home stand of the season — the Clippers and Mount Carmel will be offering a week-long COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Huntington Park. Fans ages 18 and over can visit the first-aid center located behind home plate from the time gates open through the end of the third inning to receive the Janssen (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine. The J&J vaccine provides full vaccination with a single shot.

Coca-Cola Park to host Covid-19 vaccinations on

Thursday, May 6 at the IronPigs’ home game

From 5-7 p.m. the Allentown Health Bureau will administer Covid-19 vaccines at the entrance plaza

Allentown, Pennsylvania (5 May 2021) – Getting vaccinated is a GRAND SLAM! The Allentown Health Bureau is coming to Coca-Cola Park on Thursday, May 6 from 5-7 p.m. to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to adults 18 and older just prior to the IronPigs game that evening at 7:05pm.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are encouraging everyone 18 and older to get vaccinated. For those who do receive a vaccination tomorrow, Thursday, May 6, those individuals can show their new vaccination card at the Provident Bank Ticket Office and receive a FREE game ticket to the game to see the IronPigs play the Rochester Red Wings immediately after their shot.

“We want to do our part to encourage vaccinations so that all of us can return to ‘normal’ as soon as possible and to help keep our entire community healthy,” said Kurt Landes, President and General Manager of the IronPigs. “It’s time to strike out Covid once and for all. Ballparks have hosted vaccination drives before, but never AT a game and while providing a free game ticket in return.”

“We’re trying to cover all our bases and get the vaccine into as many arms as possible,” said Allentown Health Bureau Director Vicky Kistler. “We’re happy to partner with the IronPigs to score more victories over the COVID-19 virus.”

The Allentown Health Bureau is distributing only the Moderna vaccine. Guests who receive a Covid-19 vaccination on Thursday, May 6 will be able to receive their second dose on Thursday, June 3 at the Allentown Fairgrounds any time from 8:30-2:30 p.m.

In addition to hosting the vaccinations, it is Nurses Night, presented by Bayada Home Service at the IronPigs game tomorrow evening and it is also the first Happy Hour of the year featuring $1 Berks hot dogs and alcoholic drink specials from 5-7pm.

Fluor Field to Serve as COVID Vaccination Site Thursday

Consistent with its ongoing “Front Porch Of The Community” focus, the Greenville Drive are excited to announce today, in partnership with Prisma Health, a series of COVID-19 vaccination events to occur at Fluor Field throughout the Drive’s 2021 season. The Drive announced plans this week to host the first vaccination event on Thursday, May 6th during their doubleheader against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.

On Thursday, vaccinations will take place from 6-8pm in the Power Alley hospitality area of Fluor Field, directly inside the Main Street entrance to the stadium. No appointments are needed; vaccinations will be offered on a walk-up basis and administered by officials with Prisma Health. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered free of charge; those 16 years of age or older, needing their first or second dose, will be eligible. For those needing their second dose, it must be a minimum of three weeks since their first dose, but no later than six weeks.

To help encourage participation, all of those that get vaccinated on May 6th at Fluor Field will receive a complimentary ice cream at the Drive’s destination ice cream stand Sweet Caroline’s as well as a complimentary ticket to any remaining 2021 regular season game.

Syracuse Mets and Onondaga County Team Up to Provide Free COVID-19 Rapid Testing for Fans to Attend Syracuse Mets Games

SYRACUSE, NY – The Syracuse Mets and Onondaga County are partnering to provide free COVID-19 rapid testing at NBT Bank Stadium for fans during the 2021 season. New York State guidelines require fans to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test prior to entry. This rapid test that will be provided by Onondaga County at NBT Bank Stadium will fulfill the testing requirement set forth by New York State.

Testing will take place on the day of Syracuse Mets home games Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. There are no games on Mondays this season. This gameday testing is available for fans who are attending the Syracuse Mets game on the same day. Fans will need to register in advance at https://covid19.ongov.net/appointments/testing-registration-form/

The tests will be administered outside NBT Bank Stadium in clearly marked areas. All fans will be directed to an initial screening area. Those already with proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will proceed to one of the gates clearly marked for entry into the stadium. Fans without proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be directed to the testing tent where they will check in, get tested, and wait for the test result. After receiving proof of a negative test, those fans can then proceed to the one of the entrance gates. Fans should plan accordingly as the test may take up to 30 minutes to deliver results.

Since the testing begins more than four hours before all games, fans can come early to get tested and then return later in the day for the game with proof of negative test already in hand.

Fans are encouraged to get proof of a negative COVID-19 test ahead of time in order to reduce the amount of people needing a test at the stadium and the wait time.

Proof of full vaccination is only valid if the individual has received their second Moderna or Pfizer shot, or first Johnson & Johnson shot at least 14 days prior to the event date. Negative COVID-19 tests must be dated within 72 hours of the event if it is a PCR test, or within 6 hours of the event if it is an Antigen test. The Syracuse Mets will be screening fans upon entry to the stadium, including temperature testing.

Tickets for the 2021 Syracuse Mets baseball season are now on sale. Fans can purchase tickets at the Onondaga Coach Ticket Office at NBT Bank Stadium or over the phone during regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or online anytime at syracusemets.com.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Rochester Red Wings President & CEO Naomi Silver are excited to announce that Frontier Field will host a pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Saturday, April 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. As an incentive, those who get their vaccine at Frontier Field on Saturday will receive a coupon good for a hot dog when they come to a Red Wings game this season.

“Summer nights at Frontier Field are a Monroe County tradition that residents and families missed out on in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the Red Wings anticipated return on the horizon, now is the time to get your COVID-19 vaccine and ensure you’re able to catch a game at Frontier Field this season,” said Bello. “Vaccination is key to returning to normalcy and enjoying the things we love most about the summer months in Monroe County. We can all end this together, and it starts with the simple act of getting your COVID-19 vaccine.”

The COVID-19 vaccine is FREE to anyone, regardless of health insurance or coverage. This clinic will offer first-dose Pfizer vaccine, which is approved for anyone 16 years of age and older. Appointments will be required for this vaccine clinic and can be made on the Monroe County scheduling website, https://www.monroecounty.gov/health-covid19-vaccine, or by calling the Monroe County COVID-19 hotline at (585) 753-5555. Second-dose Pfizer appointments for anyone attending this clinic will be held on Saturday, May 15 at the same time as your first-dose appointment.

The Rochester Red Wings are slated to make their long-awaited return to Frontier Field on May 18, 2021, with an extended home stand until May 30. The Red Wings will then have another extended home stand from June 15 – June 27.

Under New York State COVID-19 guidelines, fans will have to present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination OR a recent negative COVID-19 test in order to attend outdoor professional sporting events, including Rochester Red Wing games at Frontier Field. Anyone vaccinated at through this weekend’s clinic will be eligible to attend games at Frontier Field starting May 29 under the full vaccination guidelines, meaning no COVID-19 test will be required.

St. Lucie Mets Community Market Coming April 25th

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (April 14, 2021) – The St. Lucie Mets are excited to announce the launch of the St. Lucie Mets Community Market.

The mission of the St. Lucie Mets Community Market is to promote and support regional artists, crafters and food vendors by providing a viable and productive market place where local producers can create mutually beneficial interactions with area residents and visitors. Promoting healthy food and local commerce fosters a sense of a community supported economy. There are over 30 vendors ranging from food, crafts, artists and vegan/all-natural products that will be joining us.

The launch date of the first market is Sunday, April 25th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clover Park. Moving forward the Community Market will take place two Sundays per month. Parking and entry to the market is free.

Annual Cutters 5K Race Set for June 12

The Williamsport Crosscutters, in partnership with Hope Enterprises, will be holding the Annual Cutters 5K on Saturday, June 12 at Historic Bowman Field sponsored in part by; Hamilton Patriot, Horizon FCU, iHeart Media, Lamar, Muncy Bank & Trust, Williamsport Sun-Gazette, & Woodlands Bank.

The race, through Williamsport’s West End, begins at 9am with registration open at 8am. The course has runners starting outside the ballpark entrance with the final leg taking place inside the stadium. Both runners and walkers are encouraged to take part in the event.

All proceeds benefit the Hope Foundation and Hope’s TeenLink facility. The TeenLink site, located next to the McCall Middle School in Montoursville, is a community-based learning opportunity for local school districts, BLaST IU 17, autism support coordination and Hope individuals.

“Hope Enterprises is honored to once again be the beneficiary of the 2021 Cutters 5k race,” stated Hope’s CEO/President Rob Labatch. “We are blessed to have the support of the Williamsport Crosscutters, as their devotion to the philanthropic needs of our community is truly remarkable.”

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place runners in seven male and female age categories with the first-place runners having the opportunity to throw out ceremonial first pitches at the Williamsport Crosscutters game on June 19. Additionally, prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female walkers. In keeping with
health and safety guidelines, there will not be a Kids Fun Run held in conjunction with the event this year.

Last year’s race was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and this year’s event will follow CDC guidelines including masking during check-in, and post-race awards along with a timed staggered start to assure safety and social distancing.

Cutters Vice-President of Marketing Gabe Sinicropi said, “The Cutters 5K continues to be one of our signature charity events and are thrilled that we can bring it back this year after a year layoff. We are long-time supporters of Hope Enterprises and their mission and are happy to assist in supporting all they do in our community.”

IronPigs Charities Presents $37,400 in Community Grants

Grants were provided in support of educational and recreational programs

Allentown, Pennsylvania (9 February 2021) – IronPigs Charities presented by Air Products, the philanthropic branch of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, announced the 14 recipients of the 2021 Community Grants. Grants, which totaled $37,400, were provided to the following organizations in support of educational and recreational programs for youth in the Greater Lehigh Valley, especially those in underserved populations or those who are differently abled. IronPigs Charities has donated $1,118,729 since 2007.

“2020 was a hard year for the nonprofit community,” said IronPigs Charities Director Emily Bettys. “Despite not having a baseball season where our typical in-game fundraising efforts take place, the IronPigs had to create unique fundraising opportunities to directly benefit the community grant program for IronPigs Charities. We were able to continue our mission without interruption by funding 14 worthy projects across the Lehigh Valley, thanks to the loyal support of the IronPigs fanbase. We feel honored to have the ability to back these programs as they adapt with the times and strive to go above and beyond in making a difference for a community that had their resources cut tremendously due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The IronPigs hosted a number of special events in 2020 that directly benefited IronPigs Charities. The first of its kind – a Character Cruise-thru was held as fans were guided through Coca-Cola Park’s lots in parade-style passing by more than 60 costumed cars. Due to much success, a second cruise event was added so more fans could participate. Between the two cruises, 2,000 cars participated in total and nearly $14,000 was raised with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit IronPigs Charities.

Ballpark Bingo was held on Wednesday evenings from July through November. The event gave guests an opportunity to play 12 rounds of bingo, eat ballpark food, and soak up the ambiance of Coca-Cola Park. Bingo nights raised over $26,000 for IronPigs Charities.

Suites N Treats, which provides an all-inclusive trick or treat experience for youth who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to do so. Safety was the top priority as nearly 400 children were invited to walk the concourse along the ballpark for a socially distanced and safe trick or treat experience.

The IronPigs were not able to host games or any traditional events in 2020, but the front-office staff worked diligently to support their community partners by focusing all their efforts on funding IronPigs Charities.

IronPigs Charities is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the cornerstone of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs’ commitment to the Lehigh Valley community and is presented by the Air Products Foundation.

Fireflies to Host Holiday Themed Virtual 5K; Mason’s Jingle Jog

A portion of Race proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Columbia Fireflies are hosting a virtual holiday 5K Wednesday, December 9 through Wednesday, December 16 for fans looking to stay active this winter. The 3.1-mile race can be walked, jogged or run, and fans of all ages and athletic abilities are encouraged to participate. The race is entirely virtual and can be completed anywhere at any time between December 9-16.

Race entry fees for Mason’s Jingle Jog are $40 per person and includes a special holiday Fireflies dry-fit race shirt, entry to the race, a donation to the Salvation Army and a prize for the top male and female finishers in each of the four age brackets. The divisions will be under 18, 19-25, 26-35 and 36+. All shirts will be mailed to runners; shipping is also included in the entry fee.

Runners will track their time by joining the race group on the Strava app. Once you download the app, you can sign into the race and the app will track your time and distance and submit it to the Fireflies upon completion of your 5K. After registering for the race, runners will be sent direct access to the race group as well as instructions on how to download Strava and join the group.

”This is a great virtual event to promote fitness and our community’s great holiday spirit of giving,” said Fireflies team President John Katz. “The Salvation Army does such amazing work in our region, and we’re excited to continue our support.”

Bats to Host Youth Sports Equipment Drive & Holiday Open House

Louisville, KY – The Louisville Bats are partnering with Humana and the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) this holiday season to host “Playing It Forward”, a used sports equipment collection drive on Saturday, December 5 & Sunday, December 6 from 10 AM – 2 PM at Louisville Slugger Field.

Playing It Forward is designed to provide new and/or gently used youth baseball or softball equipment to low-and moderate-income kids and help eliminate the cost of equipment as a barrier to participate in organized sports. By removing this barrier, the LSC will help nearly 100 Louisville-area kids participate in sports in their own neighborhoods as a means to experience physical activity.

“The Bats are thrilled to partner with Humana and the Louisville Sports Commission to help make possible such an impactful initiative. With so many young people in need of proper sports equipment, we’re asking our fans to donate so that we can all help make a difference in the lives of the youth in our community,” says Team President Vic Gregovits.

Walk-up drop off will be available inside the Hall of Fame Pavilion of Louisville Slugger Field. Participants may enter through the east gate doors next to Against the Grain. Parking is free in the main lot located on the east side of the ballpark.

Participants who wish to donate but want to stay in their cars may do so by visiting the drive-by drop off bins located in the main parking lot located on the east side of the ballpark. Bats staff members will be on hand to help with the drive-by donation process.

All participants who donate will receive a 20% off coupon to Dick’s Sporting Goods as well as a 20% off coupon for the Bats Team Store.

Holiday Merch Blowout Sale

In addition to the Playing It Forward initiative, the Bats will be holding their first-ever “Holiday Merch Blowout Sale” which will be offering discounted team merchandise items for up to 50% off. Specially discounted items will be available inside the Team Store. All fans will be required to wear masks when shopping and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.

Ballpark Renovations

Fans who attend are invited to walk around the ballpark to view many of the exciting renovations happening in advance of the 2021 season.

The Emeralds Buy a Mask/Give a Mask Program

Last month the Eugene Emeralds launched their online initiative to donate reusable, washable masks to local school districts. Through the Emeralds Buy a Mask/Give a Mask Program fans can purchase an adjustable face mask, or a gator, and the Emeralds will donate an identical mask to a local school district.

The Emeralds will distribute the masks through the Eugene Education Foundation, Bethel Education Foundation and the Springfield Education Foundation to go to the students, teachers and supporting staff. Although the re-opening of in person instruction is fluid, schools will be able to disturb the masks as needed and have them on hand when they are able to start in person instructions.

“It is so important for our students, teachers and support staff to have access to face masks,” said Anne Culhane, Director of Community Relations. “Masks are going to be an ongoing need for schools for the foreseeable future, and we want to make sure schools are able to provide PPEs to those who need them.”

The Emeralds have two options for fans to purchase from. The first one, a mask that has adjustable elastic ear loops. This mask is made of polyester super dry mesh fabric interior and has an interior pocket for a filter pad. Also available is a light weight and breathable gator. This standard fit (one size fits most) gator can be worn in any number of ways such as a headscarf, face mask or bandanna. These are not medical grade masks, but it has been proven to help reduce a person’s chance of spreading COVID-19 by up to 70 percent.

LVHN Flu Drive

Lehigh Valley Health Network to host Flu Drive at Coca-Cola Park

The flu drive will be held on Sunday, November 8 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Allentown, Pennsylvania (30 October 2020) – Lehigh Valley Health Network will be hosting a flu drive at Coca-Cola Park on Sunday, November 8 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. This will be the 23rd straight year Lehigh Valley Health Network will administer free seasonal flu vaccinations for adults and children. For the past 22 years, 180,000 free flu shots have been administered by LVHN’s community influenza vaccination campaign.

In order for guests to receive their free flu vaccine, they must complete and print a consent form for each person being vaccinated and review the vaccine information sheet. This information can be found by going to lvhn.org/flu shot or requested by calling 888-402-LVHN (5846). In addition, Lehigh Valley Health Network is asking those who are requesting to receive a flu shot to wear loose-fitting clothing for the shot to be administered in the arm, and the leg of children under two years old.

In conjunction with the flu drive, Lehigh Valley Health Network is partnering with food banks and shelters throughout the Lehigh Valley to accept donations of unexpired, non-perishable food items during each of the drive-thru sessions. Over the last 22 years, more than 140,000 pounds of food have been collected for food banks throughout the Lehigh Valley. Food donations are optional and not required to receive a shot. Lehigh Valley Health Network is urging those to check the expiration date and only bring items that have not expired and are non-perishable. In addition, other items such as diapers, personal hygiene products, coffee pods and wipes will be accepted.
