Portland Sea Dogs and KeyBank team up for KeyBank Assists Program

PORTLAND, Maine – Portland Sea Dogs and KeyBank, a long-time sponsor, are collaborating on a #KeyBank Assists in-game promotion to support Westbrook-based nonprofit Woodfords Family Services. For every assist recorded by the Sea Dogs during all 69 home games throughout the entire season, KeyBank pledges a donation of $10 per assist, up to $10,000 total for the season.

“The Sea Dogs are proud to continue our partnership with KeyBank to help generate awareness and funds for local non-profits,” stated Geoff Iacuessa, the president and general manager of the Portland Sea Dogs. “KeyBank shares our commitment to the community, together we can hit out of the park to help make a lasting impact.”

KeyBank’s involvement in the Sea Dog’s in-game promotion is part of the bank’s #KeyBank Assists program, launched in 2020 to support local businesses and communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. KeyBank has worked to support over 250 small businesses in their markets and provided contributions to over 100 community organizations.

Last season the Sea Dogs and KeyBank partnered for the #KeyBank Assists program, where the Sea Dogs compiled 942 assists, resulting in a $9420.00 donation from KeyBank to Cooking for Community.

KeyBank currently has 42 branches in Maine. The bank has sponsored the Portland Sea Dogs since the inaugural season in 1994.

Local Black Owned Businesses Will Be Featured At Five Games This Season

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists in conjunction with the Western NC Black Business Expo are proud to announce Black Business Nights Presented by UScellular.

During five designated nights during the 2022 season five local Black-owned Businesses will be able to showcase their products or professional services on the concourse during Asheville Tourists Games. The first featured game is this Saturday, May 28. The remaining four games are scheduled for June 15, June 29, July 26, and August 12.

This Saturday’s game at McCormick Field will feature the following local Black-owned Businesses: HOTWORX, The Plug Chiropractic, Makeba Loving Hands, Rita Lee & Associates, and Upstate Essential Solutions, LLC.

The initiative is part of Minor League Baseballs “The Nine” outreach platform. Prior to the 2022 season Minor League Baseball launched “The Nine,” a new, Black-community focused outreach platform specifically designed to honor and celebrate the historic impact numerous Black baseball pioneers made on the sport, provide new opportunities for youth baseball and softball participation, further diversify the business of baseball, and embrace millions of passionate fans throughout MiLB’s 120 communities nationwide.

It is named for the number Jackie Robinson wore during his only season playing in MiLB with the Triple-A Montreal Royals in 1946

The Western NC Black Business Expo is a creation of the Western NC Minority Business Association. The WNCMBA is a non-profit organization created to advocate and promote the development of minority-owned businesses in Western North Carolina through networking events, workshops, and annual business expos.

Amarillo Sod Poodles Community Driven Programs For 2022 Season

AMARILLO, Texas – The Amarillo Sod Poodles are excited to announce details of its 2022 programs aimed towards shining a light on local non-profits and small businesses for the 2022 season. The club will return the Small Business Spotlight sponsored by Carpet Tech, the Charity Spotlight sponsored by Brick & Elm, and Launch-A-Ball sponsored by KTBlack Services.

All three programs are designed specifically to help hard-working, local small businesses and non-profit organizations raise awareness and funds to continue to provide their goods and services to the Texas Panhandle and surrounding areas.

Each organization that signs up for our Small Business and Charity Spotlight will be provided the following elements during any of the 69 Sod Poodles regular-season home games at no cost. Groups or individuals will receive a marketing table on the main concourse to showcase their organization, in-park recognition via a live public address announcement, and scoreboard recognition. They can also have someone from their organization do a live on-air interview during the Sod Poodles Radio Broadcast to further promote their organization or small business. In addition, these programs come with a ceremonial first pitch and four tickets to the game for which the group or business owners will be recognized.

The Sod Poodles are also excited for the return of Launch-A-Ball presented by KTBlack Services. This program along with our Concessions Fundraising Program are exclusively for area non-profit groups (schools, churches, etc) looking for a fun way to raise money during a Sod Poodles 2022 home game. Each game, one organization receives numbered tennis balls to sell (3 for $5) from a table on the concourse, around the ballpark, and in the suite level. The non-profit group will receive 50% of gross sales for their Launch-A-Ball game.

Fans who purchase from Launch-A-Ball groups will have the opportunity to toss their numbered ball(s) towards a target in left-field after the game is over. The fan with the winning toss will receive the other 50% of the nightly jackpot or a prize from one of many other local businesses partnered with the Sod Poodles.

Along with the 50% of gross Launch-A-Ball sales for their game, each organization will also receive in-park recognition via a live public-address announcement and the opportunity to display promotional materials at their table to promote their cause and interact with local community members. To be eligible to participate in Launch-A-Ball, groups and organizations are first required to participate in a Sod Poodles ticket fundraiser which will further help benefit the organization. Read With Ballplayers January 15 At The Bodacious Bookstore!

In conjunction with Fish Fest at Blue Wahoos Stadium, Miami Marlins prospects Jordan McCants and Jeff Lindgren will visit the Bodacious Bookstore and Café on Saturday, January 15 for a morning of family-friendly fun at Books With Ballplayers! From 11:00 AM until noon, McCants, Lindgren, and Blue Wahoos mascot Kazoo will read with children in attendance and participate in a question and answer session. The event is free to the public. Interested participants are encouraged to arrive early as space is limited.

In accordance with Major League Baseball health and safety protocols, face masks are required for all guests at Books With Ballplayers.

The Bodacious Bookstore and Café opened in August 2019 at 110 E. Intendencia Street in downtown Pensacola offering a wide selection of books for both children and adults, a children’s area highlighted by a replica lighthouse, and a full menu of coffee, tea, smoothies, and café-style food.

Following the Books With Ballplayers event, McCants and Lindgren will head to Blue Wahoos Stadium for the first annual Fish Fest event at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, the event will feature autographs, question and answer sessions, a yard sale, behind-the-scenes tours, and more. Minor League Baseball Announces 2021 CommUNITY Champion WooSox Capture Coveted Award from MiLB

NEW YORK CITY, Dec. 6, 2021 — Minor League Baseball™ (MiLB™) today announced the Worcester Red Sox as their 2021 CommUNITY Champion Award winner. Nominees from each league were selected by their peers and were candidates for the overall award.

CommUNITY Champion Award – Worcester Red Sox (Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox)

In their inaugural season in Worcester, the Worcester Red Sox took every opportunity available to become a valued member of their new community. Whether they were hosting baseball clinics for children, building awareness for charities or providing scholarship opportunities, the WooSox always went above and beyond.

Since the announcement in August 2018 that the Worcester Red Sox were moving to Polar Park, the valuable perspective of fans and community leaders has been instrumental in shaping the franchise’s goals and values. The WooSox show their appreciation for those in their community on a nightly basis, using pregame ceremonies like “Hometown Hero,” “Heart of Worcester” and the ceremonial first pitch to recognize and honor the contributions of community leaders and unsung heroes.

Their nightly “In Debt to a Vet” promotion honors the sacrifice and bravery of local veterans, and all fans are invited onto the playing field following Saturday and Sunday games to enjoy the Polar Park experience with a game of catch or running the bases with friends and family.

In celebration of the diverse identities and cultures of the City of Worcester, the team introduced “Los Wepas de Worcester” in 2021 and highlighted a different Spanish-speaking country in each of the Copa de la Diversion games. From Mexico to Puerto Rico to El Salvador, Polar Park transformed into a hub of that country’s local culture, music and food during “Los Wepas” games. Hispanic and Latinx leaders were honored in pregame ceremonies, the national anthem of the featured country was performed, local vendors were invited to sell their food at concession stands and the on-field “Worcester Red Sox” jerseys were replaced by “Los Wepas de Worcester” jerseys, with “Wepas” being a Spanish expression of excitement.

In an effort to strengthen the organization’s spirit of empathy and inclusion and create a clearer understanding of how they can make baseball more inclusive and celebratory of differences, the club played host to several events throughout the season. In July, the WooSox hosted “Autism Acceptance Night,” where the volume of public address announcements and music was turned down across the ballpark to reduce stimulation and highlighted Polar Park’s Unum Sensory Room, which offers a quiet space for fans to take a break on the comfortable couches, borrow noise-reduction headphones and play with kinetic sand, fidget spinners and coloring books. In August, “Peanut Allergy-Friendly Nights” were introduced to allow a safe, stress-free experience for fans with peanut allergies to enjoy a game at Polar Park, and in September “Deaf Awareness Night” included an interpreter on the videoboard to communicate pregame ceremonies, in-game promotions and PA announcements.

The WooSox took advantage of the extended season by supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and “Going Gold” in September 2021. The WooSox put the spotlight on children, families and heroes who are helping to conquer cancer. Dressed in gold, children and families in the battle as well as their nurses and doctors gathered in center field in the shape of a ribbon as fans raised gold signs from the stands to honor loved ones who are currently in, or have lost, their battle with cancer. In their inaugural season, the team and the WooSox Foundation collectively donated over $50,000 to UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center, which works to treat and cure cancer and provide resources and comfort.

The WooSox Foundation also launched the “WooSox Scholars” Program to provide college scholarships to ensure young students’ dreams of education are funded. In July 2021, four Worcester Public Schools eighth graders stepped onto the field in front of a crowd of cheering fans and were presented with various gifts from the team and a certificate honoring their achievement. The WooSox have already invested $40,000 into the college funds of local students in just one season.

The WooSox introduced the “WooSox Book Nook” in the Worcester Public Library — a collection of baseball-themed books donated by WooSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg and WooSox Chairman of the Board Larry Lucchino. The Book Nook provides young readers a chance to learn the history of baseball and the power of sports in community while developing their reading skills.

BRADENTON, Fla. — The Bradenton Marauders, Low-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, have announced plans to feature local area non-profit organizations and small businesses for Friday and Saturday games at LECOM Park in 2021. The Marauders will partner with the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, the Manasota Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce to promote the program.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (April 14, 2021) – The St. Lucie Mets are excited to announce the launch of the St. Lucie Mets Community Market.

The mission of the St. Lucie Mets Community Market is to promote and support regional artists, crafters and food vendors by providing a viable and productive market place where local producers can create mutually beneficial interactions with area residents and visitors. Promoting healthy food and local commerce fosters a sense of a community supported economy. There are over 30 vendors ranging from food, crafts, artists and vegan/all-natural products that will be joining us.

The launch date of the first market is Sunday, April 25th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clover Park. Moving forward the Community Market will take place two Sundays per month. Parking and entry to the market is free.

RubberDucks Team Up With Local Small Businesses, Akron Public Schools For Two February Community Initiatives

(AKRON, OHIO) February, 3 2021 – The Akron RubberDucks are proud to announce two community initiatives in support of February’s celebration of Black History Month: The Local, Minority-Owned Business Spotlight and the Black History Month essay contest. During the month of February, the Akron RubberDucks will launch two simultaneous initiatives to promote and celebrate the diversity of backgrounds in the Greater Akron area.

Minority-Owned Small Business Spotlight

First, the RubberDucks will utilize team social media channels to showcase one minority-owned business within the Greater Akron per week for the month of February. Businesses will be selected through a nomination process via the Akron RubberDucks website where nominations include the business’ name, website, social media handles, and a testimonial about its importance to the community. Business owners as well as customers are encouraged to nominate their favorite minority-owned small businesses in the Greater Akron community.

Black History Month Essay Contest

Second, the Akron RubberDucks and Akron Public Schools have teamed up to introduce a Black History Month essay contest for students kindergarten through 12th grade. Students will be asked to submit a double-spaced, one-page essay on what Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have A Dream Speech” means to them personally. Winners will be selected from three groups of students: Grades K-5th, 6-8 and 9-12.

This essay contest begins Feb. 3, and submissions will be accepted until Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. Each entry must be submitted to [email protected] and must include the student’s name, age, grade level and school in order to be accepted for the contest. Each grouping will have one winner for the contest and that student will win tickets to an upcoming RubberDucks game for their whole class. Winners of this contest will be notified by email and announced on Feb. 26.

City Stadium to host Food Truck Tuesdays this fall

Lynchburg, Va. – The Lynchburg Hillcats are excited to present Food Truck Tuesdays, which will be coming to City Stadium next month.

Food Truck Tuesday will occur every Tuesday from September 4 to November 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the City Stadium parking lot.

“As the regular season begins to wind down, we’re thrilled to announce this weekly event that will begin immediately during our off-season,” said Hillcats Assistant General Manager, Matt Klein. “Food Truck Tuesdays offer Lynchburg business owners a unique opportunity to showcase their products in a fun, laid back, and spacious environment that City Stadium has to offer. The 13 Tuesdays this fall will also allow Lynchburg and Central Virginia residents to taste all of the amazing food trucks that have recently sprouted throughout the area. We look forward to bringing people together to enjoy lunch of all different kinds of recipes this fall.”

Vendors are asked to arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday to set up their truck. Additionally, vendors must be self-sufficient with their trucks in supplying their own power and water needs. To boost variety, Food Truck Tuesdays will be limited to five trucks per day, along with one truck per food specialty.

To maximize attendance at Food Truck Tuesdays, the Hillcats will promote the notion during the clubs remaining home games in 2018. Video board and public address announcements will spur fans excitement for this off-season experience, as well as through social media posts on the Hillcats Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Sign-ups for the event will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email mklein@lynchburg-hillcats.com to reserve your spot now. There is no up front cost to sign up, rather, a 10% of net sales fee per event will be charged for a spot at the Lynchburg Hillcats facility.

“Businesspersons in the community deserve a chance to consistently set up shop and unleash their talented cooking skills,” Klein said. “We’re excited to see the local impact that Food Truck Tuesdays has in our neighborhood, and are hopeful that this is a launching pad for these vendors to book more events in the future.”

The Lynchburg Hillcats are the Advanced-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The Hillcats are eight-time Carolina League Champions, having most recently won the Mills Cup Championship in 2017. The Hillcats play their home games at City Stadium, which has been home to Minor League Baseball in Lynchburg since 1963. Aces Donate $303,046 to 650 Groups in Northern Nevada, California

RENO, Nev. – Since the Reno Aces Baseball Club’s inception in 2009, the club has maintained a dedicated focus on making a positive impact in Reno and the surrounding Northern Nevada region. The Aces posted record-breaking charitable donations in 2017, thanks to overwhelming support from Aces fans and the community.

“In return to our great fans and wonderful community, we strive to impact Reno and Northern Nevada through a variety of programs and charitable donations,” said Reno Aces and Reno 1868 FC president Eric Edelstein. “Our vision builds on making Greater Nevada Field more than just a sporting venue, but a center for community empowerment and celebration.”

The Aces and their staff focused on four key components to the club’s overall community impact: baseball development, community events at Greater Nevada Field, community outreach and in-game fundraising and awareness.

BASEBALL DEVELOPMENT

In 2017, the Aces showed their continued support to baseball at all levels locally by hosting youth baseball fundraising programs and high school games at Greater Nevada Field.

$15,000: The Reno Aces and University of Nevada Baseball team played its annual exhibition game prior to the first game of the season. This game provides not only an opportunity for our players to get back in the game, but gives Nevada Baseball the experience of playing on a professional field and a fundraising source. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales of that night’s game are donated to the Nevada Dugout Club. This season, the Reno Aces donated $15,000.

Youth Baseball & Softball Days: The Reno Aces partnered with multiple Northern Nevada and California Little League and softball leagues to provide on-field inspiration and once-in-a-lifetime experiences through Reno Aces Youth Baseball and Softball Days. Youth teams attend a Reno Aces game, parade around the field pre-game and have their team’s name announced by the PA announcer for all of those in attendance to hear. In addition, the Reno Aces staff and mascot, Archie, attend each leagues’ opening ceremonies and bring baseball into more communities.

$54,000: For the past nine seasons, the Aces invited local high schools to play regular-season games at Greater Nevada Field. To participate in the program, high schools committed to purchasing 500 tickets (good for any Aces regular season home game) to sell to local community supporters, with the proceeds benefiting their respective school’s athletic program. Twelve high school baseball programs participated in 2017, and a total of 4,500 tickets were sold, equating to $54,000 in donations.

COMMUNITY EVENTS AT GREATER NEVADA FIELD

In 2017, the Aces and Greater Nevada Field hosted multiple programs and events, ranging from the Biggest Little Startup Fair to Trick-or-Suite prior to Halloween. A few major events are highlighted below:

30: Biggest Little Startup Fair, benefiting the Northern Nevada Community – Greater Nevada Field hosted the Biggest Little Startup Fair for a fourth consecutive year. The fair is a cooperative effort between 30 Reno startup companies, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, the University of Nevada and Truckee Meadows Community College. Students from across Northern Nevada were given the opportunity to meet potential employers and find out about volunteer opportunities, internships and job openings.

City of Reno Stuff-A-Buss- In 2017, Greater Nevada Field again hosted the City of Reno Stuff-A-Buss event to benefit local senior citizens in need. The Regional Transportation System parks a bus in front of Greater Nevada Field from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in an effort to “stuff the buss” with new and unused items. Upon donation, those who donated received free Aces tickets or free skate rental to the Reno Ice Rink.

Trick-or-Suite, benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada – The Reno Aces and Greater Nevada Field hosted the fifth annual Trick-or-Suite event to provide a safe trick-or-treating environment for children in the Northern Nevada community. Aces community partners assisted in decorating the NVision Glass Suite Level and passed out candy to local children. Attendees donated a total of $972, an increase of 77% from 2016, and over 1,100 pounds of canned and boxed food equating to 1,948 meals.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Aces heightened focus on community outreach paid dividends in 2017.

2017 monetary donations: $36,075.00

Archie’s Kids Club – Since the inaugural season, the Aces have provided Archie’s Kids Club to Aces fans between the ages of 3 and 12. For the third consecutive season, Kids Club has been free to these fan to provide as many individuals as possible the gift of Aces Baseball including: Access to the lovable Aces mascot, Archie continued education of the game of baseball, a t-shirt, exclusive Kids Club event invites, personal e-mails from Archie and much more. In 2017, over 1,100 young Aces fans participated in Kids Club.

Nevada Humane Society – In the fall of 2014, the Aces fostered Princess, a pit bull from the Nevada Humane Society, in effort to get her adopted and begin the organization’s goal to be ambassadors for not only pit bulls, but all animals in need of a home. After five months of no potential adopters, the organization officially adopted Princess and crowned her the “Princess of the Field.” This year, the Reno Aces continued to sell Princess Plush toys in the Team Shop. Overall, over 150 Princess Plush Toys were sold and approximately $3,200 will be donated to the Humane Society.

In-Kind Donations/Donation Requests- Throughout the year, the Reno Aces donated tickets, memorabilia, mascot appearances, merchandise and ice skating admissions to as many organizations in the Northern Nevada and California communities as possible. Donated items are used for members of those organizations to raise funds for their cause, provide awards and spread the love of baseball. The Aces donated to 650 organizations, totaling over $182,818.

 IN-GAME FUNDRAISING AND AWARENESS

The Aces hit a home run with their in-game fundraising and awareness in 2017, with fundraising totals reaching $87,353.00.

Saint Mary’s Home Run For Life – In 2017, Saint Mary’s Home Run for Life returned for a fifth consecutive season. Once a month, a brave individual in the Northern Nevada Community was honored by taking a ceremonial trip around the bases with each team lining the baselines. The ceremony symbolizes the end of a battle against adversity. Individuals honored had overcome a significant medical event in their life with the help of their families, physicians and healthcare professionals. Five individuals were honored during the 2017 season.

Non-Profit Ticket Fundraising Program Presented by Greater Nevada Credit Union – The Non-Profit ticket Fundraising Program presented by GNCU returned for the fourth consecutive season, with over 100 organizations participating in 2017. Available to non-profit organizations, schools, sports teams, special causes and community organizations, the Aces provide tickets and fundraising materials for groups to sell game tickets at a value price in the effort to make the attributed organization the most money possible. Groups also receive a variety of benefits to spread awareness about their cause during their game, depending on the number of tickets sold. This season, non-profit organizations raised $77,000.

JAKKS Pacific Home Run for the Holidays,- For the sixth consecutive year, the Reno Aces partnered with JAKKS Pacific, Inc., and Reno 1868 FC to donate toys to help less-fortunate children living in Northern Nevada. This holiday season, 2,000 toys were donated to organizations in the Reno-Sparks/Carson community assisting at risk and in need youth. Since 2011, JAKKS Pacific has donated over 44,500 toys to the Northern Nevada community.

105: In partnership with Gamer Baseball, the Aces served 105 campers over three separate youth baseball camps. The camps provided instruction on the fundamentals of baseball, along with speed, agility and strength training to make Northern Nevada youth successful baseball players in the future. Each camper received a free Reno Aces t-shirt, Aces Team Card set, two tickets to an Aces game and an Aces batting practice viewing session.

4,767: The Reno Aces partnered with multiple Northern Nevada and California little league and softball leagues to provide on-field inspiration and once-in-a-lifetime experiences through Reno Aces Youth Baseball & Softball Days. Youth baseball and softball teams attend a Reno Aces game and parade around the field pre-game. In 2016, three Youth Baseball & Softball Days were held with over 4,767 participants.

$15,000: The Aces and University of Nevada baseball team played their annual exhibition game in early April, with $15,000 of the ticket sales proceeds being donated to the Nevada Dugout Club.

$54,000: For a seventh consecutive season, the Aces invited local high schools to play regular season games at Greater Nevada Field. To participate in the program, high schools committed to purchasing 500 tickets (good for any Aces regular season home game) to sell to local community supporters, with the proceeds benefiting their respective school’s athletic program. Twelve high school baseball programs participated in 2016, and a total of 4,500 tickets were sold, equating to $54,000 in donations.

500+: Christmas on the Corridor, benefiting the Northern Nevada Community – For the first time, Greater Nevada Field hosted the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department annual Christmas on the Corridor event. This event provided coats, toys, child I.D. and the opportunity to meet Santa for children living along the 3rd, 4th and 5th Street corridors of Reno. Families and children that attended also received the opportunity to meet the Aces mascot, Archie, and got a voucher to skate at the Reno Ice Rink. Over 500 families attended the 20th anniversary of the corridor event.

$550 + 1,077 = 898: Trick-or-Suite, benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada – The Aces and Greater Nevada Field hosted the fourth annual Trick-or-Suite to provide a safe trick-or-treat environment for children in the Northern Nevada community. Aces community partners decorated suites along the suite level and passed out candy to provide youth in Reno-Sparks a unique and fun trick-or-treating experience. Admission to Trick-or-Suite was $3 or 3 canned food items, with all proceeds and food benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. A total of $550 and 1,077 pounds of canned and boxed foods were donated, equaling 898 meals.

11,032: Slaughter House, benefiting the Washoe County School District Children in Transition Program – Slaughter House returned to Greater Nevada Field for its third year in 2016. Slaughter House is Reno’s largest and longest running haunted house, and has become the most attended and highly anticipated Halloween attraction in Northern Nevada. Slaughter House donated a portion of all proceeds to the Washoe County School District Children in Transition Program after a total of 11,032 people visited in 2016.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Aces’ heightened focus on community outreach paid dividends in 2016.

20′: Sierra Arts Foundation Partnership, benefiting the Northern Nevada Community – The largest community relations initiative the Aces and Greater Nevada Field advocated for in 2016 was the inclusion of local artwork at the Field. The initiative stemmed from seeing other ballparks’ inclusion of local artwork, and the fact that Reno has the most public artwork per capita than any other city in the world. Two 20-foot murals were painted at Greater Nevada Field’s home plate gate, and the Nevada Appeal Luxury Suite level featured local artwork along the hallway and in each suite. The Aces and Greater Nevada Field plan to continue this partnership with Sierra Arts into 2017 with another ballpark mural and new artwork in the suite level.

$1,355: Nevada Humane Society – In the fall of 2014, the Aces fostered Princess, a pit bull from the Nevada Humane Society, in effort to get her adopted and begin the organization’s goal to be ambassadors for not only pit bulls, but all animals in need of a home. $151,175: In-Kind Donations/Donation Requests, benefiting various Northern Nevada and California Communities, Organizations, Schools and Non-profits – Throughout the year, the Reno Aces donated tickets, memorabilia, mascot appearances, merchandise and ice skating admissions to as many organizations in the Northern Nevada and California communities as possible. Donated items are used for members of those organizations to raise funds for their cause, provide awards and spread the love of baseball. The Aces donated to 532 organizations, resulting in a monetary value of $151,175.

IN-GAME FUNDRAISING AND AWARENESS

The Aces hit a home run with their in-game fundraising and awareness in 2016, with fundraising totals reaching $190,434.

$12,406: Jersey Auction Totals, benifiting Veterans Guest House, American Red Cross of Northern Nevada, Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, Artown, Special Olympics and Omicron Alumni Association (NAK) – The Aces hosted six jersey theme nights in 2016, with the jersey tops being auctioned off as an in-game fundraiser. Each theme night was dedicated to one of the organizations listed above. The six theme nights are listed with their corresponding jersey auction totals in parentheses: Star Wars Night ($3,690), Artown ($2,924), D-backs Affiliation Night ($2,385), Going for the Gold Night ($2,325), Heroes Night ($555) and Los Aces Night ($527).

42,500: JAKKS Pacific Home Run for the Holidays, benefiting various Northern Nevada organizations – For the fifth consecutive year, the Reno Aces partnered with JAKKS Pacific, Inc., and Reno 1868 FC to donate toys to help less-fortunate children living in Northern Nevada.
