The St. Lucie Mets are hosting Teacher Appreciation Night on Wednesday, June 5th at Tradition Field. The Mets host the Lakleland Flying Tigers at 6:30 p.m. and the gates open at 5:30 p.m.

All teachers with a valid teacher’s ID get in for free. Teachers will receive one free beverage voucher and $1 beverages throughout the game.

It’s also ESPN 106.3FM “All You Can Eat and a Seat”. For only $12 fans can purchase an “all you can eat” ticket which includes admission and an all you can eat menu.

Breast Cancer Awareness Night set for June 8

Miracle to don special pink jerseys to be auctioned off

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 30, 2013) – On Saturday, June 8, the Fort Myers Miracle will host a very special evening at the ballpark with the 4th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by the Lee Memorial Health System Foundation and Sun Broadcasting.

The Miracle play the Bradenton Marauders at 6:05 p.m. at Hammond Stadium and fireworks will light up the Southwest Florida sky after the game. The first 500 women entering the ballpark will receive a pink tote bag compliments of McDonald’s. Gates will open at 5 p.m.

In honor of breast cancer survivors, the Miracle will wear pink jerseys that will be available for auction during the game. The auction will take place on the concourse and conclude in the middle of the sixth inning. Fans with the winning bids will be invited onto the field after the game to receive the jersey from the respective player.The silent auction will also other items including a Key West Express Round Trip flight from Air Expeditions Seaplane Adventures, dinner and show for four from the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, a two-day, one-night stay at the Crowne Plaza including gift certificates to Shoeless Joe’s Sports Cafe, gift certificates from Norman Love Chocolates, the Prawnbroker restaurant, the University Grill and much more.

Prior to the game, a survivor walk will begin at 5:15 p.m. around the warning track at Hammond Stadium. Fans who are survivors are invited to take part. Proceeds from the jersey auction, silent auction and raffles will be used to assist with mammogram services for uninsured women and men in the community.

Tampa Yankees Raise Money For Breast Cancer Awareness

Tampa, FL – The Tampa Yankees and The Container Store teamed up for this year’s Annual Pink Out Night held on Saturday, May 4th. This event raised over $2,200 this year for the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Research Center and Institute and has raised over $20,000 since 2007.

Over 3,600 fans, the majority clad in pink attire, entered the stadium to enjoy the Tampa Yankees game and post game fireworks. Players wore pink and blue jerseys, which were auctioned off during the game. Auction winners were invited to go onto the field after the game to meet the player who wore the jersey and get it autographed.

Redbirds To Unveil Military POW/MIA Seat

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone have partnered to create the AutoZone Military Seating and a distinct Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) black seat at AutoZone Park to honor past and present United States military servicemembers.

“It is an honor to be able to recognize our military members and veterans, as well as bring awareness to the POW/MIA cause,” said AutoZone Vice President and Redbirds Foundation chairman Ray Pohlman.

The AutoZone Military Section will contain 26 seats in the first three rows of section 106 adjacent to the Redbirds home dugout along the third base line. Seat one in row A of that section will be wrapped in black with the official POW/MIA logo on the seat with the writing “Reserved In Memoriam.” That seat will not be available for purchase and remain empty.

Military personnel will receive 50% off seats located in the AutoZone Military Seating every game this season by presenting a valid military ID at the Redbirds box office.

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the 25th and final combat mission of the World War II B-17 bomber, the Memphis Belle, the Redbirds are giving away 2,000 Memphis Belle T-shirts on Veteran’s Appreciation Night on this Saturday, May 25. Knights to Honor Veterans on Memorial Day

(Fort Mill, SC) – The Charlotte Knights will hold the first of their three Military Appreciation games of the 2013 season on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27 at Knights Stadium. All veteran and active Military members are welcome to come out and enjoy a great night of baseball. All three Military Appreciation games are presented by Bank of America, OrthoCarolina, and Uncle Bob’s Self Storage.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. on Monday and first pitch between the Charlotte Knights and the Toledo Mud Hens (Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Before the game, the Knights will welcome a Military member from each of the most recent wars. All five veterans will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Here is a list of recent war veterans that will be honored on Memorial Day and will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch:

– Tony Harper, Vietnam War

The photos will be used in a special slideshow that will be played on the in-stadium videoboard before the first pitch of Monday’s game.

As part of the Military-themed game, all Knights players will wear special Military jerseys on Monday and for all three games this season (May 27, June 29, and July 3rd). A jersey auction, which will take place online at charlotteknights.com, will run until Sunday, July 7 at 11:59 PM. Fans can bid on the game-worn, autographed jerseys right from their home computer. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the USO of NC.

The Charleston RiverDogs bring “Pink in the Park” to The Joe

To celebrate Mother’s Day, and to raise awareness for Breast Cancer, the Charleston RiverDogs teamed up with a locally founded Breast Cancer Awareness nonprofit, Save the Milkshakes for the inaugural Pink in the Park event at The Joe.

“Since Breast Cancer Awareness Month does not fall within our season, it was important for us to show our support somehow.” says Director of Community Relations, Lauren Allio. “We feel that the inaugural Pink in the Park event went very well! And we look forward to continuing it in the future.”

San Bernardino, CA – The Inland Empire 66ers have partnered with the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Department and local police departments for a special Protect and Serve Night, presented by Toyota and Scion of Redlands, honoring the brave men and women of local law enforcement. Proceeds from ticket sales for the game and bids from the silent auction of team jerseys will benefit the MacKay and Collins families, both affected during the recent Big Bear manhunt.

“The Inland Empire’s law enforcement was tested recently, and they showed the nation their strength and resolve under pressure,” said Inland Empire 66ers General Manger Joe Hudson. “We look forward to honoring our brave local men and women who protect us every day, and especially the two families who were most deeply affected during the recent tragedy.”

“The Protect and Serve Night is a wonderful event that brings together the community and law enforcement,” said San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner John McMahon. “We will be honoring two of our very own heroes, Detective Jeremiah MacKay and Deputy Collins. A generous amount of the proceeds will benefit both families as they embark on new challenges and the process of healing.”

Twenty percent of all ticket revenue will be donated to the families of fallen officer Detective Jeremiah MacKay as well as his seriously wounded partner, Deputy Alex Collins. In addition, sheriff’s-inspired jerseys worn by the team and coaches for the night will be auctioned after the game to benefit the families as well.

“Toyota of Redlands and the Tom Bell Auto Group are honored to host this special event to benefit the families of fallen Detective MacKay as well as injured Detective Collins, and all law enforcement,” said Paul Smith, General Manager of Toyota and Scion of Redlands. “These individuals put their lives in jeopardy every day to protect and serve the people, property and businesses in our areas. More than 11,000 Students to Attend Prevention Dimensions Day on Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY (May 20, 2013) – The Salt Lake Bees, in conjunction with the Utah State Office of Education, will host Prevention Dimensions Day at the Bees vs. Memphis Redbirds game on Tuesday, May 21 at 10:35 a.m. The Bees will welcome more than 11,000 students to this 10th annual event at Spring Mobile Ballpark which promotes drug and alcohol prevention.

The fifth and sixth grade students in attendance will enjoy an opening ceremony featuring more than 400 Utah elementary students from the Davis, Granite and Salt Lake school districts. Also participating in the program will be Utah’s First Lady, Jeanette Herbert, and Verne Larsen, Safe and Drug-Free Schools Coordinator for the Utah State Office of Education. Larsen will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch, while the Lehi Children’s Choir will perform the national anthem.

Prevention Dimensions is Utah’s Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities lesson set, which supports the Utah State Office of Education pre-kindergarten through 12th grade health core. The program began in 1982 as a joint effort between the Utah State Division of Substance Abuse, Utah State Department of Health, Utah State Office of Education, and Utah State PTA, and has been revised several times since. The mission of PD is to give students a strong foundation of effective violence and substance abuse prevention skills.

Silver Hawks Ready to Knock Cancer out of the Park

Your Silver Hawks host the annual Pink in the Park this Saturday and Sunday to honor all those affected by breast cancer. The annual event at the Coveleski Regional Stadium is presented by Memorial Regional Breast Care Center, B100 and ABC 57. A special pink Silver Hawks’ replica jersey on will be given out to the first 500 women 18 and older Saturday and Sunday.

Bees to Honor U.S. Military Personnel on Saturday, May 18

SALT LAKE CITY (May 16, 2013) – The Salt Lake Bees will honor men and women of the United States Armed Forces during Military Appreciation Night, sponsored by Larry H. Miller Collision Centers, on Saturday, May 18 as the Bees take on the Nashville Sounds at 6:35 p.m. The team will wear camouflage jerseys during the event.

The Bees are offering all military personnel a free ticket to the game by showing proper identification at the Spring Mobile Ballpark box office. Military personnel can also purchase half-priced tickets at the box office for their families by showing proper identification.

F-16 pilot and commander of the 419th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base, Colonel Bryan Radliff, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The 419th Fighter Wing Anthem Choir, also from Hill Air Force Base, will perform the national anthem and sing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch. A special military-themed fireworks show will begin at the conclusion of the game.

Saturday, May 18th is Armed Forces Day, in which the Drive and the Upstate Community celebrate active and retired personnel from all branches of the Military. The Armed Forces Day Parade begins at 5 PM on Main Street, going through Downtown Greenville and ending at Fluor Field where the celebration continues with military displays, JROTC demonstrations, and America’s Heroes.

Over 500 Military Personnel and their families will be receiving tickets and refreshments at this game courtesy of the Fluor Corporation. In addition, veterans will be receiving special recognition during the game as the Drive, in partnership with Fluor, help to salute our armed forces.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Sacramento River Cats will honor the heroic act of the Valley High School baseball team this Friday, May 17, with an on-field ceremony, in addition to treating the entire team to a night of baseball at Raley Field.

The Valley High School team received national attention recently for pulling a car off a young girl and saving her life on Tuesday, May 7. According to the Sacramento Bee, players from Valley High’s varsity and JV baseball teams heard a girl screaming and came to her aid, pulling a sedan off her and allowing their coaches to pull her from underneath the car.

In addition to the on-field recognition prior to Friday’s 7:05 p.m. game, the Cats are treating both teams and their coaches to complimentary tickets to Friday’s game against the Oklahoma City RedHawks.

Valley High School co-head coach Brett Sawyer said that his team is “beyond ecstatic” for the opportunity to take his players to Raley Field this weekend.

“John Wooden once said, Sports don’t build character, they reveal it,” Sawyer said. “The Valley baseball team exuded character in the truest form that day, and the school, administration, community and coaching staff are proud of each and every one of them.”

The Cats open an eight-game homestand beginning Thursday, May 16, at 7:05 p.m. During the homestand, fans will be treated to two nights of fireworks, two Miller Lite Thirsty Thursdays, and the first of nine bobblehead giveaways of the season, scheduled for Sunday, May 19, when 2,500 fans will receive Barry Zito bobbleheads. The San Jose Giants are excited to welcome back country artist Matt Kennon who performed at the inaugural Strikeout Violence Night. Festivities will include a pregame performance by Kennon, presented by KRTY, and a Junior Giants Peace Pledge Ceremony. Following the pregame events, the San Jose Giants will take on the Stockton Ports at 7:00 PM.

Country rocker Matt Kennon is best known for his Top 20 hit “The Call,” shining a spotlight on the conversation to help prevent suicide. Since performing at last year’s inaugural Strikeout Violence Night, Kennon began a “Stop the Bull” campaign. This effort has taken him to six states and 55 schools, where he has impacted the lives of over 100,000 children. His single, “You Had to Pick On Me” was inspired when Matt ate lunch at the school where his sister works as a teacher’s aid and saw a young boy having a tough time. This experience led Kennon to take a stand against bullying. As part of this campaign, Kennon is available to attend one school in the San Jose area on May 31, prior to performing at Municipal Stadium. Junior Giants, the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund, is a free, non-competitive and innovative baseball program for boys and girls ages 5-18 years old. Beyond baseball, Junior Giants focuses on the Four Bases of Character Development – Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork – and offers programs in Education, Health and Violence Prevention. Each of the 20,000 Junior Giants in the program take the Junior Giants Peace Pledge vowing to Strikeout Violence in their communities by preventing bullying, standing up for what is right, praising people and helping others. Friday, May 31 will also be a KRTY Family Friday at the ballpark. On May 30, Matt Kennon will perform An Evening of Music that Matters, with special appearance by Morgan Frazier, at Club Rodeo in San Jose. Country artist Morgan Frazier is a 19 year-old who has been performing since the age of five, sold her first CD when she was nine and signed a record deal at 16. Her not yet released single “Hey Bully”, was inspired by her experience as a bullied child. She is a People’s Choice Award winner who is best known for her debut single, “Yellow Brick Road”, which she released on Curb Records’ sister label, Sidewalk Records.
