Bear Up on Missouri State Bears Night – Saturday, August 19

The Cardinals are excited to “Bear Up” this year and are excited to host Missouri State Bears Night on Saturday, August 19 to help get everyone ready for the fall sports schedule.

As part of Missouri State Bears Night, the Cardinals are going to show their MSU support by wearing Missouri State Bears Specialty Cardinals Jerseys during that night’s game against the Corpus Christi Hooks. Not only a first-time co-branded and game-worn collectible item, the specialty jerseys will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.

Cardinals and Bears fans can also show their Springfield sports pride with the Missouri State Bears Theme Ticket. Rescheduled from the rained out game on April 29, the Cardinals and Bears Theme Ticket includes one seat to the 6:10pm game on August 19 and a co-branded Cardinals cap with the Bears logo on the back, all for only $15.

Get Four Free Tickets with Cardinals Kids Fun & Fit Day, presented by Anthem – Saturday, August 19

In an effort to promote the fun of a fit and healthy lifestyle among young Cardinals fans throughout the Ozarks, the Springfield Cardinals are excited to partner with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to present the Cardinals Kids Fun & Fit Day on Saturday, August 19.

Cardinals Kids Fun & Fit Day, presented by Anthem, will run from 9 – 11am on Saturday, August 19. All kids are welcome to come to Hammons Field during that time to participate in a fun fitness course on the field.

All kids that complete the fitness course will receive four free tickets to their choice of one game from a list of select 2017 Regular Season games. All kids that participate will also receive a complimentary Springfield Cardinals Cap and more.

St. Louis Cardinals Ticket Voucher Giveaway & Matt Gifford Day – Sunday, August 20

To celebrate the contributions and impacts that former Springfield Cardinals Vice President / General Manager Matt Gifford made at the ballpark and throughout the community, the Springfield Cardinals are excited to host Matt Gifford Day on Sunday, August 20.

The first Vice President / General Manager in team history, Matt guided the Springfield Cardinals to 12 and a half years of excellence on and off the field before being promoted by the St. Louis Cardinals to Vice President of Stadium Operations at Busch Stadium on June 20, 2017.

The Sunday, August 20 game will also feature an added giveaway to the Promotional Schedule – the St. Louis Cardinals 2018 Ticket Voucher Giveaway (2,000), giving fans the opportunity to see Matt at Busch Stadium next year.

Newborns in Need Baby Supplies and Diaper Drive – Sunday, August 27

For their third charitable drive of the month, the Springfield Cardinals are excited to partner with Newborns in Need to host the Baby Supplies and Diaper Drive at Hammons Field.

Running right now through the Sunday, August 27 game at Hammons Field, the Cardinals are seeking donations of new baby supplies and diapers. All fans that donate from the list of needed baby supplies below may purchase a discounted $1 ticket to the August 27 game for each item donated.

Scrappers Sock Out Hunger on August 11

August 3, 2017

Dr. James LaPolla, Jr. DPM and the Howland Health & Wellness Committee will be sponsoring a sock giveaway on Friday, August 11 when the Scrappers take on the Staten Island Yankees at Eastwood Field. The first 1,000 fans will receive a pair of Scrappers branded socks. Anyone who brings in a canned food donation will also receive a free ticket voucher for an upcoming Scrappers game. All donations will go directly to the Bolindale food pantry inside of The Boldindale Christian Church (2749 Fairview Ave. SE, Warren, OH 44484).

The food pantry at The Bolindale Christian Church serves 60-70 families twice a month. According to the 2008-2013 U.S. Census Bureau, 31.2% of the residents of Bolindale live below the poverty level and 54.3% are receiving food stamps.

The Bolindale community is also a focus of the Creating Healthy Communities initiative spearheaded by the Trumbull County Combined Health District. Grant monies were used to purchase additional lighting to improve the safety and visibility of the park and upgrades have been made to the park by repairing playground equipment and adding several pickleball courts.

The goal of the Howland Health and Wellness Committee is to promote healthier lifestyles and workplaces in the township. The Township has received the Healthy Ohio Healthy Community award from the Ohio Department of Health in 2015 and 2016. Drive and Blood Connection Team Up on Friday

August 1, 2017

The Greenville Drive and The Blood Connection are teaming up to host a blood drive at Fluor Field on Friday, August 4th between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The Blood Connection buses will be set up at the Main Street gate.

Those who donate will receive complimentary rewards, including a Drive/Blood Connection t-shirt, a pair of vouchers good for any Sunday-Thursday Drive home game in 2017, and a hot dog plate with chips and a drink.

Every time you donate blood, you could save up to three lives, so come on out to Fluor Field on June 9th to support The Blood Connection.

Bandits, American Bank donate $1,500 to YMCA

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Furthering the commitment to giving back to the local community, the Quad Cities River Bandits have donated $1,500 to the Scott County YMCA and Two Rivers YMCA. The funds were raised from ticket sales during the July 10 game at Modern Woodmen Park, which was sponsored by American Bank. The River Bandits annually donate more than $300,000 back to the Quad Cities community.

Scott County YMCA on the Iowa side and Two Rivers YMCA in Illinois will split the donation of funds raised from ticket sales to the 2,095 fans attending the game on Monday, July 10. American Bank was the title sponsor of the game, helping to facilitate the fundraising.

This is the latest in a long line of community efforts by the River Bandits. Already in 2017, the River Bandits have created the Bill Edmond seats, which honor the late local leader and provide two free box seats to every River Bandits game to deserving, underprivileged members of the Quad Cities community; expanded the club’s Bandit Scholars program, already the largest in all of Minor League Baseball, by adding Eastern Iowa Community College to its list of recipients; and partnered with the Bechtel Trust to create the new Carousel Corporation, a nonprofit designed to donate 100% of the proceeds from four new rides at Modern Woodmen Park back to underprivileged youth in the Quad Cities area.

“Paying for our young people to attend college and donating back to this great community are two things that we are delighted to do,” said team owner Dave Heller. “The River Bandits are 100 percent committed to making the Quad Cities the best possible place to live, work and raise a family for everyone who calls this great area home.”

In addition to the financial donations of over $300,000 a year, the River Bandits staff also volunteers over 1,000 hours of collective community service with local organizations, including the local YMCAs. The two locations receiving this specific donation are free to spend the money however they see fit. NATURALS PARTNER WITH AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

SPRINGDALE, Ark – The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are proud to partner with the American Red Cross on a blood drive in August. An emergency call for blood and platelet donations was issued due to a current shortage.

Recently it was announced that the American Red Cross is experiencing a severe blood shortage and has issued an emergency call for the need of blood and platelet donations as right now there is more blood being distributed to hospitals than being donated. Thus the American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive in August and the Naturals are teaming up with them to try and reach a goal of over 150 donors at blood drives across the region.

Each person that donates blood or platelets to the American Red Cross from August 1 through August 15 will receive a voucher for two (2) FREE Dugout Premium tickets to the Naturals 7:05 p.m. game on Tuesday, August 22 against the Springfield Cardinals (Double-A St. Louis Cardinals). The voucher will need to be turned into the Arvest Ballpark Box Office in advance or on the day of the game where it will be exchanged for the best available seats.

Shorebirds to Hold Collection for Brooke’s Toy Closet

SALISBURY, Md. — The Delmarva Shorebirds are proud to partner with Market Street Inn and MoJo’s again in 2017 to hold a toy drive to benefit Brooke’s Toy Closet at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Brooke’s Toy Closet was started in 2014 by Brooke Mulford, a local girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer, in January of 2009, when she was four years old. Brooke, unfortunately, lost her battle with cancer earlier this year on June 12th. Brooke’s Toy Closet is a special cabinet filled with toys, coloring books and other goodies that PRMC’s Emergency Department and Pediatrics Unit can give to children who are hospitalized. The recipients of these gifts will be able to use them when they’re in the hospital, and take them home to enjoy when they are feeling better.

The toy drive will be held on Saturday, July 29th when the Shorebirds host their annual Christmas in July game at 7:05 PM against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Gates will open at 4:00 PM so that fans can watch the Shorebirds and Grasshoppers take batting practice. The Shorebirds will be holding the collection in the Fun Zone outside the main gates of Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Those who make a donation will receive a ticket voucher to a future 2017 Shorebirds home game, a $10 gift card to Market Street or MoJo’s and an entry in a raffle to win another $50 gift card to each restaurant. The Shorebirds will accept new unwrapped toys, activity books, and other children’s toy items.

That night’s game will also feature the Shorebirds wearing special Christmas-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit the Shorebirds Fly Together Fund and a postgame Q105 fireworks show presented by MoJo’s and Market Street Inn.

BlueClaws, Bush’s Best to Hold Food Drive at July 28th Game

LAKEWOOD, NJ – In honor of National Baked Beans Month, the BlueClaws and Bush’s Best will be hosting a Food Drive on Friday, July 28th at the 7:05 pm game.

The BlueClaws will be collecting Bush’s Baked Beans and other non-perishable food at the game. Fans are instructed to bring their donations to the New Jersey Natural Gas Information Booth on the concourse behind home plate.

Anyone that donates will receive two tickets to the BlueClaws game on August 30th.

All donations will benefit The Salvation Army of Ocean County for their Hearty Helpings Food Pantry.

July 28th is a Friday, and that means the BlueClaws will have post-game fireworks thanks to Carl’s Fencing. It’s also Italian Heritage Night, with food specials and a pre-game performance from Frank James.

San Jose Giants Unveil San Jose Police Department Hat

San Jose, CA– On Friday, July 21, the San Jose Giants will welcome to Municipal Stadium local police officers, fire fighters, EMT’s, and paramedics along with all the brave men and women who serve and protect our community for First Responder’s Night, presented by Alliance Credit Union. During the game, our team will don fire-department-inspired jerseys which fans can bid on with proceeds benefiting the San Jose Fire Department Los Bomberos. Additionally, all first responders who show their badge or ID at the Box Office will receive complimentary admission for themselves and their families.

The San Jose Giants are also proud to announce that they have collaborated with the San Jose Police Department in releasing an all-new, SJPD-themed, On-field New Era 59FIFTY cap for First Responder’s Night. The navy colored hat features the San Jose Police emblem and yellow ‘PD’ lettering with the team’s ‘SJ’ logo in white. Beginning July 21, fans can purchase the SJPD New Era fitted hat in the San Jose Giants Dugout Store. All first responders will receive a special 10% discount. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each hat will go to benefit the Police Amateur Athletics Foundation (PAAF).

“We are grateful to have had the opportunity to team with the San Jose Police Department in designing this new hat and will wear them proudly in recognition of the police department and all that they do to serve and protect our town,” said Juliana Paoli, Senior Vice President of Communications and Chief Marketing Officer. “I would encourage fans to pick up a cap of their own and show their pride for our local law enforcement. The San Jose Giants are also proud to collaborate with the San Jose Fire Department for the second consecutive season in deputing an on-field SJFD-inspired jersey. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on these jerseys and take them right off our Giant’s backs and receive an autograph after the game on the field. Proceeds will benefit the San Jose Fire Department Los Bomberos Toy Drive. Los Bomberos grants the gift of Christmas to thousands of families in our community every holiday.

Dash to host “Fill the Stands with Cans” on July 21

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 14, 2017) – The Winston-Salem Dash are proud to announce, in conjunction with the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association (PTAA) and WXII, the return of “Fill the Stands with Cans” for an eighth consecutive season at BB&T Ballpark. On Friday, July 21, before the Dash’s 7 p.m. game against the Salem Red Sox, PTAA volunteers will be positioned outside the gates of BB&T Ballpark collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.

Last year, the Dash were among several organizations to help the PTAA provide a total of 17,832 meals to people in need in the northwest North Carolina area.

“Every summer Second Harvest’s resources are stretched thin because so many children who rely on free and subsidized meals at school are out of school for the summer,” said Jon Lowder, Executive Director of the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association. “That means that Second Harvest and its partner agencies have to supply more food to needy families, and we are so fortunate to be able to partner with three organizations that are dedicated to addressing the community’s needs. This year, we hope to raise 20,000 meals, and we’d love to reach 25,000.”

As a thank you from the Dash and the PTAA for helping support Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC, any fan who brings a non-perishable food item or cash donation to Friday’s game will receive a ticket voucher that can be redeemed for any Dash home game in August. To redeem your ticket, simply bring your voucher to the Baker Roofing Box Office, which is open leading up to all home games and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday on non-gamedays.

“We are incredibly excited about hosting ‘Fill the Stands with Cans’ again this year,” said Dash President Geoff Lassiter. “The PTAA does a fantastic job of organizing this event every season, and their goals intertwine with our organization’s community initiatives, so it’s truly a perfect match.”

BlueClaws, CJBC Blood Drive on July 29th

LAKEWOOD, NJ – The BlueClaws and Central Jersey Blood Center are teaming up for a blood drive on Saturday, July 29th from 7 am – 2 pm at FirstEnergy Park.The drive will take place in the BlueClaws Executive Conference Center and each donor will receive a pair of tickets for a 2017 BlueClaws game.

The BlueClaws encourage all fans to donate as the supply of blood needs to be replenished at this time.

While walk-ins are accepted, donors are encouraged to pre-register. To sign up, call 888-71-BLOOD or click here to register online.

Don’t Forget: Please eat before donating. All equipment used during the procedure is sterile and disposable. Donors must be healthy, be at least 16 years of age and weigh at least 120 pounds. Donors must present signature ID.

Rattlers to Host The Community Blood Center’s Mile of Music Blood Drive on July 22

GRAND CHUTE, WI – The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will host The Community Blood Center’s Mile of Music Blood Drive on Saturday, July 22 from 8:00 am to 12:30pm. Donors will receive several perks to go along with helping to save lives through their donations.

“The Mile of Music Blood Drive is a unique opportunity for donors with a variety of passions – whether you’re a fan of music or a fan of baseball, saving lives is the main goal by all involved,” said Jill Butzin, Marketing and Communications Manager for The Community Blood Center. “It’s so exciting for The Community Blood Center to be able to partner with both organizations to promote something we can all get behind, which is the importance of blood donation.”

All presenting donors will receive an exclusive Pre-Mile of Music concert ticket, a Cory Chisel bobblehead, a pair of Timber Rattlers ticket vouchers for the 2017 season, ballpark food and a VIP Stadium Tour, and a chance to win a suite for up to 14 people at a Timber Rattlers game in 2018.

This year’s bobblehead features Cory Chisel holding a blue guitar.

Additionally, there will be a Mini-Mile of Music Concert at 11:00am during the blood drive.

Chevy Youth Clinic coming to PNG Field on July 15

Your local Chevy dealers would like to invite kids ages 6-12 to participate in a FREE youth clinic with the Curve on Saturday, July 15!

This clinic is open to both boys and girls and will provide them an exciting opportunity to learn baseball fundamentals from Curve players and coaches. Each participant will also receive tickets to that evening’s game, a fun giveaway and lunch following the clinic.

SeaWolves To Host ‘Good Deeds Day’ on July 1

The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, have teamed up with Erie Federal Credit Union to host the fourth annual Good Deeds Day on Saturday, July 1 at UPMC Park.

Good Deeds Day is a drive to collect items needed by multiple non-profit organizations in the Erie region. Fans who donate an item at the game on July 1 will receive a complimentary Upper Box seat ticket to the SeaWolves’ Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, August 26 against the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians).

“We would like to thank our partners at Erie Federal Credit Union for supporting this community initiative,” SeaWolves President Greg Coleman said. “We encourage SeaWolves fans to support one or more Erie-area organizations by bringing needed items to the ballpark on July 1.”

Items can be donated at the stadium from 6:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the SeaWolves’ game against the Altoona Curve. Stadium gates open to the general public at 6 p.m. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The following is a list of participating organizations and their current list of needed items:

OBI All-American Blood Drive Saturday in Bricktown

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Dodgers will team up with the Oklahoma Blood Institute to host the All-American Blood Drive from 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The All-American Blood Drive aims to boost the supply of blood available in the state of Oklahoma in preparation for Independence Day weekend, as holidays often put stress on the area’s blood reserve.

All healthy adults age 16* and older who donate blood during the drive will receive two tickets to an upcoming 2017 OKC Dodgers game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, and 125 donors will have the opportunity to select tickets to the Dodgers’ July 4 game against the Iowa Cubs. First-time donors will be entered in a raffle for a VIP experience with the OKC Dodgers, including four all-inclusive club tickets.

“Each summer the All-American Blood Drive helps maintain the necessary blood supply for our state during a busy time of year,” OKC Dodgers President/General Manager Michael Byrnes said. “We are grateful for everyone who comes out to donate and want to have them return to the ballpark and enjoy a game this season as a thank you for their generosity.”

Hot dogs will be served throughout the blood drive and free parking will be available for donors Saturday in the Joe Carter Lot, located just east of the ballpark at the corner of East Reno Avenue and Joe Carter Avenue. A golf cart will be available to shuttle donors back to the parking lot from the donation site along South Mickey Mantle Drive.

Oklahoma Blood Institute is the ninth-largest non-profit blood center in America and employs nearly 800 Oklahomans. OBI works with an estimated 1,000 volunteers and 2,600 blood drive coordinators. OBI donors provide blood utilized in more than 160 medical facilities in Oklahoma.

The Dodgers open a home series tonight against the Nashville Sounds starting at 5:35 p.m. with the conclusion of a suspended game from April 21. The game will resume in the eighth inning tied, 1-1. The regularly scheduled game will then follow. Both games fall on a $2 Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, featuring $2 soda, bottled water and beer from a line of Pepsi and Budweiser products.

First pitch for Friday night’s game is 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a pair of OKC Dodgers socks, presented by Topgolf. Fireworks are scheduled to follow the game. The series continues with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Sounds Saturday and then concludes at 2:05 p.m. on a Chaparral Energy Family Sunday, offering family friendly activities throughout the afternoon, including pregame player autographs and kids can run the bases after the game.

*Donors age 16 must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission. Donors age 17 must weigh at least 125 pounds, while donors age 18 must weigh at least 110 pounds.
