Iowa Cubs Now Accepting National Anthem Auditions for 2020

Auditions will be held at Principal Park on April 4

The Iowa Cubs are now accepting auditions to perform the National Anthem before a home game in 2020. Live auditions will be held at Principal Park on April 4 from 2:30-4:40 p.m. Participant entrance and registration will be at Gate C.

For the first time, applicants can also submit video files for consideration in lieu of a live audition. Applicants wishing to virtually apply must email Beth at bethk@iowacubs.com with a completed application (download here) and a downloadable video file, or a video link such at YouTube, Google Drive or DropBox. Audio files, tapes, or CDs will not be accepted.

Individual and group vocalists, as well as instrumentalists, are invited to audition. All vocal auditions must be performed a cappella (no musical accompaniment). Performances of the National Anthem are not to exceed two minutes.

The last day to submit 2020 National Anthem auditions is Saturday, April 4. A member of the Iowa Cubs staff will reach out to those who have been selected.

The Iowa Cubs play 70 games at Principal Park in 2020 and will open the home schedule on April 14 at 6:38 p.m. vs. San Antonio.

National Anthem Tryouts on April 1st at FirstEnergy Park

LAKEWOOD, NJ- The BlueClaws will hold their 2020 National Anthem tryouts on Wednesday, April 1st at FirstEnergy Park. The auditions will run from 5 pm – 7 pm.

All interested participants must fill out an application prior to the audition. Applications can be filled out online by clicking here.

All National Anthem auditions will be performed a capella. Instruments will be permitted, but only those that do not require electricity. Singers can apply individually or as a group.
Groups no larger than three are welcome at the auditions. Those that are interested in performing with larger groups can contact the BlueClaws at 732-901-7000, option 3.

Applications will be reviewed on a first-come-first-served basis and performance times are subject to availability. All applicants will be notified by phone regarding a possible audition, but applicants are not guaranteed an audition.

A decision will not be made the day of the tryout. All who tryout will be notified if they have been selected to perform at FirstEnergy Park for the 2020 season. All judges’ decisions are final.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment. The 2020 season kicks off with Opening Night at FirstEnergy Park on April 16th, presented by Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.

Spring Fan Fest, Anthem Auditions to be Held March 7

The Durham Bulls will host their 2020 Fan Fest on Saturday, March 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The free event provides fans a chance to take batting practice on the field and purchase single-game tickets for the 2020 season. Additionally, National Anthem auditions

The Durham Bulls will host their 2020 Fan Fest on Saturday, March 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The free event provides fans a chance to take batting practice on the field and purchase single-game tickets for the 2020 season. Additionally, National Anthem auditions will take place at the DBAP the morning of March 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

The event will feature a free raffle for all fans in attendance, with grand prizes such as Bulls merchandise. Each fan in attendance will be given a raffle ticket upon arrival. Fans can earn more raffle tickets throughout the event in several ways, such as purchasing individual game tickets and packages along with retail purchases. Winners will be selected every 30 minutes, and the individual must be present to win.

Two batting practice sessions will be held at the event. All attendees 13 and older wishing to hit on the field will be able to line up from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and all fans 12 and under wishing to take batting practice may line up from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Each participant will get 3-5 pitches only. Guests will be required to sign a waiver to participate. Waivers are available here for completion prior to Fan Fest. Please print, complete and bring with you for Spring Fan Fest.

The team’s ticket representatives will be available to showcase available 919 Club member seating locations, and the Mako Medical Box Office will be open at 12:00 p.m. to provide fans an opportunity to purchase single-game tickets. 919 Club members in attendance will be granted access to the PNC Triangle Club 30 minutes prior to the event to pick up their membership package and giveaways. In addition to 919 Club packages and single-game tickets, a special Fan Fest Pack will be available only on March 7. Fans eager to secure single-game tickets for the 2020 season can do so beginning Monday, March 2 in an online-only sale, and tickets will become available by phone and in-person at the DBAP beginning March 7.

Other events/offers scheduled for Fan Fest include:

  • Fans that purchase a 919 Club package are entered into a raffle to win four (4) PNC Triangle Club tickets or a suite night for Opening Week (April 9 Opening Night excluded)
  • The Ballpark Corner Store will offer select merchandise at discounted prices in their rummage sale
  • Local food trucks American Meltdown, Stuft and Hot Chix will be in attendance on the outfield patio
  • Photo opportunities with Wool E. Bull, the Wool E. Wagon and his go-kart
  • Photo opportunities on the Durham Bulls Grounds Crew equipment in center field
  • Tours of the area inside the Blue Monster (left field wall)
  • Tours of the Durham Bulls Clubhouse
  • Special preview tasting of select new concessions items for the 2020 season
  • Beer, soft drinks and water will be available for purchase near Wool E. World
  • Face painting will be available, and a balloon artist will also be in attendance

National Anthem auditions will also take place at the DBAP the morning of March 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for individuals wishing to perform the Star-Spangled Banner at a Bulls game in 2020. Performers who arrive after 8:30 a.m. will not be permitted to audition. Performers will have one minute and 30 seconds to perform the anthem, and lyrics must be memorized and performed in a traditional style.

Participants for anthem auditions may enter through the ballpark’s left field gate and register upon arrival to perform on a first-come, first-sing basis. Singers may leave at the completion of their audition and will be contacted at a later date as the Bulls choose those who will perform at limited, select dates during the 2020 season.

National Anthem Tryouts Set for Saturday, February 22

DAYTON, OHIO – A traditional sign that baseball season is just around the corner in the Miami Valley is National Anthem Tryouts, presented by the Dayton Daily News. Tryouts for national anthem performers for the 2020 season will take place on Saturday, February 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mall at Fairfield Commons.

Finalists will perform the national anthem at Dragons games throughout the season, with the grand prize winner performing on Opening Day 2020 before the Dragons host the Great Lakes Loons on Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m.

While all time slots have been filled with performers who registered at DaytonDragons.com, there are still opportunities to perform at the tryouts on a stand-by basis.
To register as a stand-by performer, you must come to the Saturday, February 22 tryouts at the Mall at Fairfield Commons. You will receive a stand-by number that will be called when a spot becomes available. Standby performers are not guaranteed a chance to tryout.

A panel of local citizens including media personalities, city officials, and community leaders will be judging the event. The panel will make its selections based on voice quality, creative style, stage presence, and appearance.

The Dragons Green Team as well as mascots Heater and Gem will entertain fans throughout the auditions at the Mall at Fairfield Commons on Saturday.

SeaWolves to Hold Auditions for National Anthem, Public Address Announcers and On-Field Emcees

The SeaWolves will hold open auditions on Saturday, March 14 for National Anthem singers, public address announcers, and on-field emcees. Auditions will be held at the Center Court stage in the Millcreek Mall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Interested parties will register and audition on the spot. Tryouts will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

NATIONAL ANTHEM SINGERS
Singers will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” a cappella (without music) and must complete their audition within a 90-second time frame. Solo performances and ensemble auditions are encouraged. There is no age requirement, but performers must be comfortable singing in a stadium environment. No CDs, tapes, emails or digital submissions will be accepted. Those auditioning are encouraged to review the SeaWolves’ game schedule and identify their availability throughout the season.

PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCER
The team is seeking one to two individuals to serve as the in-stadium public address voice(s) of UPMC Park for all 70 SeaWolves home games. PA Announcer duties include introducing starting lineups, batters and defensive changes, delivering promotional scripts and improvisational contests, and other duties as assigned. The PA Announcer works closely with the Director of Entertainment to create a fan-friendly and enjoyable experience at UPMC Park. Those auditioning will each read a variety of game day scripts and announce the SeaWolves lineup. Qualifications for this seasonal, game-day position include:

  • Strong vocal talent
  • A unique and definitive personality
  • Execute pre-game, in-game and post-game scripts and player introductions
  • Comfort speaking into a microphone in the control room to a large audience
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and an effective communicator
  • Must possess the ability to think quickly based on game situations and improvise when needed
  • Demonstrate professionalism and comfort while announcing complex names
  • Strong knowledge of baseball rules and positions

ON-FIELD EMCEE
The team is seeking one to two individuals to serve as on-field hosts at UPMC Park for all 70 SeaWolves home games. On-field emcees are responsible for fan engagement during pre-game, in-game and post-game promotions on a nightly basis. The emcee(s) will work closely with the Director of Entertainment and the Wolf Pack Entertainment team. Those auditioning will host a mock in-game contest and read sample promotional scripts. Qualifications for this seasonal, game-day position include:

  • The ability to execute pre-game, in-game and post-game promotions
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and an effective communicator
  • Comfort and poise using a hand-held microphone to speak in front of a large audience
  • Must possess the ability to think quickly based on game situations and improvise as needed
  • Must possess effective interpersonal communication skills for fan engagement
  • Must have a basic understanding of baseball and adhere to MiLB game operations requirements

Fireflies Seek 2020 National Anthem Performers

Fireflies to Host Three National Anthem Audition Dates in March

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Columbia Fireflies today announced that they will be hosting auditions in search for National Anthem singers to perform during the 2020 season. The Fireflies are seeking soloists and groups of all ages to perform the National Anthem for Fireflies regular season home games. Auditions will take place in the Club Lounge at Segra Park.

Auditions are by appointment only Monday, March 2nd, Wednesday, March 4th and Tuesday, March 10th . To reserve your audition time please contact Nick Musial at [email protected] or (803)888-3047. Those that have performed at a Fireflies game in the past must audition again.

The Fireflies host 70 home games between April 9th and September 4th. Performances during the season are not guaranteed to everyone that auditions. Those that are selected to perform will receive four complimentary tickets to the game the night of their performance. Season tickets are now available for the 2020 Columbia Fireflies season.

The University of Mary Washington to Host FredNats Auditions for Emcee, PA, National Anthem & Mascot

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The Fredericksburg Nationals want the best of the best to perform at the new Minor League Baseball park when it opens for its first home game against the Frederick Keys in April. A FredNats sponsor, the University of Mary Washington, is stepping up to the plate, hosting auditions this month and next for emcee and public address (PA) announcers, team mascots and National Anthem performers.

Emcee and PA try-outs will take place Saturday, February 29th, while National Anthem and mascot auditions will be held on Saturday, March 21st. Both will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in UMW’s Hurley Convergence Center Digital Auditorium.

Emcee auditions will include a script-read of game introductions and in-game entertainment segments. PA auditions will include script-reads of roster lineups and in-game sponsor advertisements.

The FredNats also need dozens of performers of the National Anthem, sung prior to each of 70 home games. Hopefuls will sing the anthem in full, in a cappella-style, without musical accompaniment.

The team also is looking for alternate mascot performers for the 2020 season. Candidates should arrive ready to rock a provided suit and run a pumped-up routine of crowd engagement. Prepared skits are welcomed and encouraged but not required.

FredNats’ Vice President of Creative Services Robert Perry will manage all emcee, PA, National Anthem and mascot auditions with assistance from other members of the 2020 promo team and FredNats Community and Mascot Relations Manager, Nathan Gunnels.

Anyone interested in attending tryouts is encouraged to RSVP to the Facebook event pages titled “FredNats Emcee & PA Auditions 2020” and “FredNats National Anthem & Mascot Auditions 2020.”

More details regarding scheduling on the day of auditions will be distributed at a later date.

Gwinnett Stripers Announce National Anthem Auditions

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Gwinnett Stripers are seeking National Anthem performers for the 2020 season.

All interested singers or vocal groups (five singers or less) must send a digital submission (video or audio) of their acapella performance of the National Anthem to [email protected] by Monday, March 2.

Candidates will be judged on tone, pace (90 seconds or less), and clarity. Top candidates will be invited to Coolray Field for in-person auditions on Saturday, March 14. No walk-ups will be admitted entry to the auditions.

Baysox to Hold National Anthem Auditions March 14

BOWIE, Md – The Bowie Baysox will host live auditions at Prince George’s Stadium on Saturday, March 14, to sing the national anthem before a 2020 Baysox home game. Stadium gates open for registration at 9 a.m. and auditions begin at 9:30 a.m. The team featrures a live performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” before all 70 home games.

Every participant must register in person, and auditions are conducted on a first-come, first-audition basis. The auditions are held rain or shine, and no word sheets are allowed during the audition. All auditions must be done in person, meaning that no recordings or videos are accepted for review. People who either performed or were approved to perform last season do not have to audition again this year.
The auditions are open to any individual or small group that is interested, and instrumentalists are permitted. Large church or school groups interested in performing the national anthem at a game should call the Baysox at (301) 464-4880.

The Bowie Baysox 2020 season is presented by Money One Federal Credit Union. The Baysox will return in 2020 to celebrate their 28th Season. National Anthem Tryouts Hosted By Shuckers On February 29

With the 2020 baseball season approaching, the Biloxi Shuckers will host tryouts to perform the National Anthem on Saturday, February 29 at Edgewater Mall. Auditions will take place from 10 am to 12 pm.

The Shuckers are seeking talented singers and musicians to perform the National Anthem for each of their 70 regular season home games at MGM Park. Those that wish to audition should come prepared to perform the entirety of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’ Performances should be less than 90 seconds, and individual singers, instrumentalists and bands are welcome to audition.

Oh Say Can You Sing? Winston-Salem Journal National Anthem Tryouts set for March 7

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Feb. 7, 2020) – The Dash and the Winston-Salem Journal will once again host National Anthem Tryouts for the general public. On Saturday, March 7, we will be hosting Tryouts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lower level of Hanes Mall, below the food court. There will be two rounds of auditions.

To obtain an invitation to the National Anthem Tryouts, singers can send an audition video to the Dash’s Director of Ballpark Experience and Branding, Jessica Aveyard, at jessica.aveyard@wsdash.com. Videos can be attached by Dropbox or YouTube. Entrants must sing a capella, and sheet music or lyrics are not allowed during either the video submission or the audition at Hanes Mall. Deadline to submit a video is 5 p.m. on Friday, February 28. Instrumentalists are also welcome to audition, but they must bring their own equipment (including amplifiers).

All performances will be recorded, and a panel of judges will be present. All contestants are asked to dress as if it were gameday, and there will be a 90-second time limit.

Contestants will be notified if they have been selected to move on to the next round, and only 100 entrants will be guaranteed an audition at Hanes Mall. If you are among the 100 selected, the Dash will notify you of your audition time by email or phone.

From the Tryouts, the Dash will select singers for 50 of their 70 home games at BB&T Ballpark in 2020, and contestants will be notified by April 1 if they have been selected to perform at a Dash game. Also, the five entrants with the highest scores from the judges will have their videos placed on the Journal‘s website to be eligible for the grand prize. The grand prize winner will receive a singing opportunity on the Fourth of July and four Club level game tickets that include an All-You-Can-Eat buffet and four Dash caps.

Performers of all ages are welcome to sing, though a parent or guardian must be present at the Tryouts if a participant is younger than 18 years of age. For more information on the National Anthem Tryouts, call Jessica Aveyard at (336) 714-6862.

In addition to the National Anthem tryouts, the Dash are hosting a fashion show that will feature the club’s new-look jerseys for the 2020 season and beyond. Pre-orders for replica jerseys will be made available at Hanes Mall on that day.

Bees National Anthem Auditions Slated for March 7

SALT LAKE CITY (February 6, 2020) -The Salt Lake Bees invite talented singers, groups and musicians to audition for the opportunity to perform the National Anthem before a Bees game this season. An open tryout will take place at Smith’s Ballpark on Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The audition will be first-come, first-served and is open to the public, individuals and/or small groups (eight people or fewer).

It is required that the National Anthem be sung in a cappella and traditional manner with no styling or individual musical interpretation. Audition participants should enter at the Diamond Entrance at Smith’s Ballpark to sign in. There is no need to bring résumés, photos, portfolios or recordings. Selected performers will be notified via email if they have been invited to sing the National Anthem before a Bees home game during the 2020 season.

If applicants are unable to attend the live audition, a video recording can be submitted to Caylor Tarter via email to Caylor.Tarter@slbees.com. Video submissions must be received by Thursday, March 12 to be considered for the 2020 season.

The Bees season begins on Thursday, April 9 at Smith’s Ballpark with a five-game series against the El Paso Chihuahuas. Season tickets and mini plans are on sale now and single game tickets will be available at www.slbees.com starting on March 1.

“O’ Say Can You Sing?” is Back This March

Pawtucket, RI – The Pawtucket Red Sox are once again offering fans the special opportunity to sing the National Anthem prior to a PawSox game at McCoy Stadium during the upcoming 2019 season. The PawSox will hold auditions for singers and musicians on Sunday, March 8 from 12 noon until 4 pm at the Warwick Mall on 400 Bald Hill Road in Warwick, RI. “O Say Can You Sing?” will take place at the “center mall.”

Individuals or groups can register upon arrival at the event on a first-come, first-served basis.

Singers will have about two minutes to perform the “Star-Spangled Banner”-or any relevant song-in front of a cast of local celebrity “judges.” Examples of other songs that could be auditioned and performed at a ballgame include God Bless America, America the Beautiful, Take Me Out to The Ballgame, Sweet Caroline, and PawSox Baseball.

“Baseball games have a soundtrack,” said PawSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg, “And the blend of patriotic music and popular traditions contribute to that musical backdrop. Live performances by soloists, singing groups, and musicians enhance the cohesiveness of our community, and we welcome all who would like to share their talents.”

Nick Coit, Sports Director at ABC6, Brian Mulhern of the Cat Country radio morning show, and aspiring professional singer Lexi Lanni (a former winner of New England’s Got Talent), are expected to serve as “mentors” and provide feedback after each performance.

The PawSox are scheduled to play 70 home games during the 2020 home season, which begins on Thursday, April 9 with a 5:05 pm game vs. the Syracuse Mets at McCoy Stadium.

Fightins Job Fair, Anthem Tryouts, Season Ticket Pickups set for February 29th

(Reading, PA) – The Reading Fightin Phils are hiring gameday employees for the 2020 season at the team’s annual Job Fair on Saturday, February 29th at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Fightin Phils Job Fair will take place from 9-11 a.m. The Fightins are seeking part-time employees in various positions, including concession workers, ushers, ticket takers, waiters/waitresses, mascot performers, security, clean team & stadium operations, Phunland kids zone workers, Diamond Girls, and lifeguards.

Prospective employees should be willing and able to work weeknights and weekends from April through early September. Age requirements and compensation will vary by position.

Job seekers are encouraged to fill out an application in advance. Applications can be found online at fightins.com, and will also be available at the Job Fair on February 29th. Prospective employees should enter the Job Fair through the Steve Moyer Subaru Fightins Team Store on the day of the event.

National anthem tryouts will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., with individual singers and performing groups welcome to audition to fill any available dates during the 2020 season. Registration will take place at the Steve Moyer Subaru Fightins Team Store, with tryouts held on the Good Life Financial Advisors Stage in Tompkins VIST Bank Plaza.

Ticket pickups for season ticket and mini-plan holders will also be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

In conjunction with these events, the Fightins team store will be open from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

TinCaps Holding National Anthem Auditions for 2020 Season

Register for Tryouts at Parkview Field on Feb. 18, 20, and 22

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Fort Wayne TinCaps are set to host auditions to perform the National Anthem before a game at Parkview Field during the 2020 season.

Singers, instrumentalists, and groups are welcomed to try out. Auditions will be held at Parkview Field on Tuesday, Feb. 18 (4-6 p.m.), Thursday, Feb. 20 (4-6 p.m.), and Saturday, Feb. 22 (11 a.m.-2 p.m.). Those interested in trying out MUST schedule a tryout time in advance by contacting Sarah Kendall at 260-407-2808 or kendall@tincaps.com.

Note: In recent years, all tryout spots have been filled within 24-48 hours. Therefore, if interested in auditioning, schedule a tryout slot as quickly as possible.

Keep in mind, not everyone who tries out will earn an opportunity to perform before a game. Tryout participants will be evaluated by TinCaps staff members and local musicians.

Those who are selected to perform the National Anthem at one of the team’s 70 scheduled regular season games will receive four tickets to the game at which they perform. (Click here for the team’s 2020 schedule.)

Opening Day 2020 at Parkview Field is Monday, April 13 (6:05 p.m.) when the TinCaps host the Cincinnati Reds-affiliated Dayton Dragons.
