Cutters Honoring Frontline Heroes in 2021

The Williamsport Crosscutters are honoring essential workers during the upcoming 2021 season.

The program, called Frontline Heroes, is presented by UPMC and will honor an essential worker in pregame ceremonies at every Cutters home game this season.

Cutters Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations Gabe Sinicropi stated, “As we all know, frontline and essential workers were all heroes, and continue to be, during the pandemic. If this was a normal year, we’d have a full night in their honor. But faced with very limited stadium capacity that was unfortunately impossible. In lieu of that, we will shine the spotlight on one of these extraordinary heroes each night to represent the countless essential workers who have continually gone above and beyond every day in our community.”

To nominate your Frontline Hero, simply fill out the short online nomination form available by CLICKING HERE. Those chosen will receive;

  • 4 tickets to the selected game
  • A $25 Cutters gift card
  • Recognition on the field prior to the game
  • & Ceremonial 1st pitch honors

Frontline and essential workers comprise numerous professions including but not limited to; medical personnel, teachers, fire and emergency personnel, police officers, service and hospitality workers, grocery and retail workers and many more. The 2021 Williamsport Crosscutters home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25 at Historic Bowman Field as the Cutters begin play in the new MLB Draft League. Storm Chasers Announce Thank You Tuesdays presented by Atlas MedStaff

PAPILLION, Neb. — The Omaha Storm Chasers are proud to announce a weekly initiative during the 2021 season to celebrate frontline and essential workers. Each Tuesday home game at Werner Park will be a Thank You Tuesday presented by Atlas MedStaff, designed to welcome and honor a specific frontline or essential industry and share stories of that industry’s heroes in the Omaha metro area.

Each of the 12 Tuesday home games will be dedicated to a specific group of frontline or essential workers. That group will be recognized on the video board during the game and have a representative throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

“We cannot fully express how grateful we are for our essential and frontline workers and the sacrifices they make to keep everyone healthy, safe, and moving forward,” Storm Chasers Promotions and Game Operations manager Rachel Rea said. “We hope each Thank You Tuesday is a start in honoring their commitment to the well-being of our community. We also want to give our fans a chance to participate in sharing our appreciation by nominating their friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors for special recognition as heroes in our community. We look forward to celebrating all these incredible people and thanking them for the hard work they do every day.

Categories for frontline and essential industries to be celebrated include, but are not limited to: Food Service, Utility and Construction, Healthcare, Emergency Response, Sanitation and Postal, Law Enforcement and Military, Caregivers and Educators, Residential/Commercial Facility, Transportation and Warehouse, Financial/Insurance, Information Technology, and Government and Community.

Fans are encouraged to nominate individual frontline or essential heroes for special recognition by filling out this nomination form.

The Omaha Storm Chasers are scheduled to begin the 2021 season on April 6 at Toledo before welcoming fans to Werner Park for the home opener on April 13 vs. St. Paul. The full 2021 schedule can be found here.

TinCaps Donate $10,000 to the Parkview Foundations

Money Raised Through “IN This Together” T-Shirt Sales

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Fort Wayne TinCaps are proud to have donated $10,000 to the Parkview Foundations, as a way of expressing support and appreciation for healthcare workers during the fight against COVID-19. The money was raised through the sales of special edition TinCaps “IN This Together” t-shirts.

“We’re glad to support healthcare workers in our community while they’re protecting us during these uncertain times,” said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President for Marketing and Promotions. “In addition to our tremendous appreciation for our healthcare heroes, we also send gratitude to all of our fans who purchased an ‘IN This Together’ t-shirt.”

Parkview Health is a not-for-profit health system. As a 501(c)(3), Parkview Foundations accept tax-deductible donations. These fund essential needs such as new equipment, enhanced health services, outreach programs, the expansion of medical facilities, access to medication, and assistance to patients and their families. 100% of every gift made through Parkview Foundations is used to benefit patients, their families, and the care received at Parkview Health locations.

The t-shirts, which were produced by _18 Threads_, a Fort Wayne-based custom print apparel shop, are green and read “TinCaps” across the chest. While the team’s primary logo features a red apple at the center, this design substituted in a red heart. Below that is the phrase “IN This Together,” part of a statewide campaign to promote social distancing to keep Hoosiers healthy and return Indiana to normal social interactions and business operations. Nearly 1,000 shirts were sold from late April through late June.

MODESTO NUTS PARTNER WITH CRYSTAL CREAMERY & SUTTER HEALTH TO RECOGNIZE FRONTLINE WORKERS

MODESTO, CA – The Modesto Nuts are proud to partner with Crystal Creamery and Sutter Health to recognize local Frontline workers as part of the 2020 “Hometown Heroes” promotion. During this pandemic, countless local heroes have risked their own well-being for the betterment of their community. These heroes will be recognized with a weekly campaign on social media highlighting all their extraordinary accomplishments.

Previous to the pandemic, the Modesto Nuts have executed the “Hometown Heroes” promotion annually in August. “It’s truly awesome to be able to continue this great promotion, even if baseball isn’t being played. We’re honored to have Crystal Creamery & Sutter Health assist with this effort.” said Zach Brockman, Modesto Nuts General Manager.

Bulls & Blue Cross NC to Provide Meals and Recognition for Health Care Workers

The Durham Bulls announced the launch of a summer community outreach program in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) to recognize the effort and sacrifice made by health care workers during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. As a way to say thank you, health care workers in Durham and Chapel Hill will receive professionally prepared meals, along with recognition on social media and more.

“We are happy to partner with Blue Cross NC on this outstanding community program,” said Chip Allen—Assistant General Manager at Durham Bulls Baseball Club. “Frontline health care workers and many other essential workers in our community put themselves in harm’s way every day to help us. We hope rewarding these health care workers during the summer, through a meal, a day out at the stadium, or their name in lights in front of the ballpark represents a small part of how grateful we are here at the Bulls.”

Beginning today, the Bulls and Blue Cross NC will deliver 600 meals per week to health care workers at Duke Health and UNC Health locations, along with other small tokens of appreciation such as Bulls ticket vouchers.

This eight-week program will be executed by Bulls and Blue Cross NC staff, including the greatest mascot in the world, Wool E. Bull! Individually packaged meals will be prepared by Blue Cross NC’s cafeteria vendor, Compass. Health care workers will also be recognized with photos, videos and special messages on social media.

In addition to the meals and social media recognition, the Durham Bulls and Blue Cross NC will also launch a “Community Heroes” campaign, allowing fans to nominate community workers who have gone above and beyond in times of need. Winners will be featured on Bulls and Blue Cross NC digital channels, as well as on signage at and around Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP). The program will culminate in a health care worker appreciation day hosted at the DBAP, where local health care workers and their families will be invited to enjoy a day of fun on the field.

OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation Participating in MiLB CommUNITY First Campaign

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Dodgers Baseball Foundation, in conjunction with Minor League Baseball and Feeding America, is participating in the new CommUNITY First campaign, aimed at helping fight hunger while also recognizing frontline workers battling against the COVID-19 pandemic.

From now through May 31, fans can visit milb.com/CommUNITYFirst to donate and select the community they want to support. All proceeds pledged to Oklahoma City will be given to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

For every $10 donated, the Oklahoma City Dodgers and OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation will provide one ticket to a local first responder and/or frontline worker during the 2020 or 2021 baseball season through the team’s Community Night Out program. Between 2018-19, approximately $60,000 was raised through Community Night Out to provide 6,000 tickets to families and individuals in need.

Fans are encouraged to donate on Giving Tuesday, May 5, and use #MILBCommUNITYFirst and tag the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation (@OKCDBFoundation) on social media to show support.

“At this time it’s especially important to recognize community victories, and we see this as a true win-win situation,” said OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation Executive Director Carol Herrick. “Not only does this program allow us to provide for those in need, but we can also say ‘thank you’ to those who are doing their best to fight this pandemic.”

Per Feeding America, an estimated additional 17.1 million people will experience food insecurity within the next six months. As a result, Feeding America is projecting a $1.4 billion shortfall during that time.

“In times of uncertainty, coming together to help others is crucial to the health, well-being and stability of our local communities,” said Minor League Baseball President & CEO Pat O’Conner. “With the support of our fans and through the Feeding America network of food banks, we want to do our part to continue to fight hunger across America during this pandemic. When it is possible to hold games once again, our teams will provide local heroes across the country with unforgettable experiences in our ballparks.”

Round Rock Express to Donate Weekly Meal Kits to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Express are teaming up with RS3 Strategic Hospitality, Nolan Ryan Beef and the Nolan Ryan Foundation to donate weekly meal kits to doctors, nurses and hospital administrators at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center who are fighting the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic on the front lines.

The Express and RS3 Strategic Hospitality previously teamed up to provide family meal kits for purchase by the community through the Bullpen Bar by Dripping Springs Vodka at Dell Diamond. With the help of Nolan Ryan Beef and the Nolan Ryan Foundation, the program has expanded to include the donation of a minimum of five to ten meal kits per week to healthcare professionals through a partnership with St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center.

“We are proud to be able to assist some of our local heroes fighting the Coronavirus pandemic right here in Round Rock,” Express General Manager Tim Jackson said. “Our goal is to grow this program through additional community support so that we can help alleviate some of the stress of grocery shopping and meal preparation for our doctors, nurses and hospital administration staff.”

Donations are currently being accepted to help expand the meal kit program to even more frontline heroes. Through the help of the Nolan Ryan Foundation, businesses and individuals can purchase meal kits to be designated for donation to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center personnel when ordering online. Those interested in donating can do so by clicking here. The Express will work with St. David’s to identify healthcare professionals most in need of meal kits each week.

Prepared by RS3 Strategic Hospitality’s executive chefs at Dell Diamond, each meal kit comes complete with five unique meals with four servings each as well as several grocery staples, which may include paper towels, toilet paper, milk, bread, butter and more. Cooking and reheating instructions are also included in each kit.

Following the success of the family meal kit initiative in Round Rock, RS3 Strategic Hospitality teamed up with their partners at the Comerica Center in Frisco to offer meal kits to the North Texas community. RS3 Strategic Hospitality and Nolan Ryan Beef are proud to extend the program to include the donation of meal kits to doctors, nurses and staff at Medical City Healthcare in Frisco.

The Comerica Center is home to the practice facility and executive offices for the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars business and hockey operations, as well as a 6,000 seat arena that hosts the Texas Legends (NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks), concerts, family shows, corporate conferences and other sporting events. Dallas Stars staff will work in conjunction with Medical City Healthcare to identify healthcare professionals most in need of meal kits each week.

The Fund will provide meals to essential healthcare, police, fire and EMT personnel working tirelessly to combat this pandemic.

Pirates and Marauders Dish Out Pizza to Hospital Staff

Bradenton, Fla. – On Friday, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders teamed up with Fastfire by Oak & Stone and Demetrios’ Pizza House to provide pizzas to healthcare workers on the frontlines during the COVID-19 Pandemic at Blake Medical Center and Manatee Memorial Hospital.

“We are thrilled with the kindness the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders leadership, staff and players are showing our day and night teams, during this healthcare crisis. Their generosity to not only help hospital’s staff but local business’ is much appreciated.” said Kevin DiLallo, CEO, Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Blake Medical Center President and CEO Randy Currin echoed the sentiment saying, “Blake Medical Center is very grateful for the generous show of support and appreciation from the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Harrisburg Senators want to say a big Thank You to all of you that make our Community so special! So many events have taken place over the past year highlighting special people doing heroic acts and the Senators want to show our gratitude to those special people.

This Monday the Senators will host their first ever Community Day. All Firefighters, Police Officers, EMTs, Teachers, Nurses, Doctors, Hospital Workers and Members of the Armed Forces and their families are being offered free game tickets. Simply show your badge or work ID at the Metro Bank Park Box Office beginning today, Tuesday, July 2 through game time on Monday to receive FREE tickets for you and your family- limit of 6 per family.

This offer doesn’t apply to any of the all-you-can-eat seats and quantities are limited, so act now. This is only valid in person at the Metro Bank Park Box Office. Game time on Monday is at Noon with the gates opening at 11:00 a.m. as the Senators and Bowie Baysox wrap up a seven-game in five-day series.

Tickets are available on game days 10:00 a.m. until the end of the game, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the game. Box office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours. Tickets are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
