Four Winds Field to Host Vaccination Clinic on April 10

SOUTH BEND, IN – Beacon Health Systems and Saint Joseph Health Systems are teaming up with the South Bend Cubs to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Four Winds Field prior to the game on Sunday, April 10.

Health officials will be on hand to administer the vaccine as well as 1st and 2nd booster shots. Anyone interested can pre-register for the vaccine by visiting www.coronavirus.in.gov/vaccine/. Pre-registration is advised but walk-ups are welcome. Everyone who receives the vaccine will receive a free ticket to the game on April 10 or a voucher that can be exchanged for any other game in April.

Those who sign up for the vaccine must report to the check in table located outside of Gate A on the 3rd base side of the stadium.

“We’re always trying to find ways to help serve and give back to the community and that’s why we’re happy to partner with Beacon Health Systems and Saint Joseph Health Systems to provide vaccine and booster shots this Sunday,” said South Bend Cubs President Joe Hart. “It’s something we can do to help make sure the vaccine reaches as many people in Michiana as it can.”

Tennessee Smokies Announce Smokies Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run for June 18

SEVIERVILLE, TN – The Tennessee Smokies have announced the team will host its Smokies Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at Smokies Stadium on June 18, 2022 at 8:00am. Early packet pick-up will take place on June 17, 2022 from 4:00pm-7:00pm inside The Batter’s Box Bar + Grill.

The Smokies Trot 5K will begin at Smokies Stadium, continue onto roads surrounding the stadium, and finish with runners rounding the bases and crossing home plate.

Registration for the race will open at 9:00am on April 1 and will be $30. The registration fee will increase closer to the event. The fee for the 1 Mile Fun Run will be $25. Participants may register in teams or individually. Registrants will receive a Smokies Trot 5K t-shirt and a field level ticket voucher good for any June 2022 Smokies home game.

Age groups for the event will include 16U male, 16U female, 17-29 male, 17-29 female, 30-39 male, 30-39 female, 40-49 male, 40-49 female, 50-59 male, 50-59 female, 60+ male, and 60+ female.

The top three overall male and female winners will receive a custom Tennessee Smokies full size wood baseball bat. Age group winners in the 5K will receive a Smokies Trot medal.

During and after the event, beer and concessions will be available for purchase.

17th annual 5K event takes place Saturday, May 28

After a two-year hiatus brought about by the pandemic, the Charleston RiverDogs “Run Charlie Run” 5K presented by Fleet Feet Sports will return to the Holy City and Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Registration is now open for the event which will take place on Saturday, May 28.

Runners can pre-register for one of the most unique race opportunities in the Lowcountry, featuring a 5K course that begins at the ballpark, continues through nearby Hampton Park and culminates with a home plate finish at The Joe. Registration to the event includes a race bib, a RiverDogs t-shirt, post-race beer, and a ticket to that evening’s game as the RiverDogs take on the Delmarva Shorebirds at Riley Park.

“We are thrilled to be hosting one of our favorite events again after a two-year break,” said RiverDogs Vice President/Corporate Sales Andy Lange. “When someone participates in our 5K, it is more than just a race. It’s an opportunity to host participants for a full day of fun at the ballpark.

Fans can pre-register for the event for just $40 until April 30. Beginning May 1, the registration fee increases to $50 and registering on the day of the race will cost $55.

Registrant packet pick up will take place on Friday, May 27 at Fleet Feet Sports in Mt. Pleasant from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on the day of the run from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at The Joe. The race begins at 3:30 p.m. with first pitch for that evening’s ballgame scheduled for 6:05.

Reno Aces, Washoe County Health District, and Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition Team Up to Make Greater Nevada Field Tobacco Free

RENO, Nev. – The Reno Aces are thrilled to announce that Greater Nevada Field will be a smoke and vape-free facility starting on Aces’ Opening Day on Tuesday, April 12 thanks to a newly formed partnership with the Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with The Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition on this very important Tobacco Free initiative at Greater Nevada Field. We are constantly working to improve the ballpark experience for our fans and this is a big step in the right direction,” said Chris Phillips, Chief Operating Officer for the Aces.

The new policy will prohibit the use of all smoke and tobacco products, including cigarettes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes (including Juul) and all vapes on ballpark property. Signage will be posted at all entrances of Greater Nevada Field and fans can expect educational messaging to be shared throughout Aces’ games all year.

“The Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition (NTPC) is very excited to support a smoke and vape-free setting at Greater Nevada Field,” said Taylor Allison, NPTC President. “By offering a smoke and vape-free environment, the Reno Aces are prioritizing the health of Northern Nevada’s children, parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors.”

First Horizon Park to Host Clip In 4 The Cure

The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club announced today that First Horizon Park will host Clip In 4 The Cure on Saturday, March 26 at 8:00 a.m. Nashville’s inaugural relay-style cycling event supports cancer initiatives at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Participants can register as a team of four (4) or individually. Each bike allows for four team members, one for each cycling hour of the event. Each hour of the relay pairs a live DJ with a Nashville spin instructor, creating four exhilarating hours to sweat it out and help beat cancer.

The cycling sessions run in 45-minute increments beginning at 8:00 a.m. and finishing at 11:45 a.m. The stationary cycling will take place on the concourse level of First Horizon Park.

Registration is live and can be found here. All attendees will be given the opportunity and are encouraged to fundraise for their team. All registration fees will be credited toward fundraising, and every dollar raised will go directly toward lifesaving research and innovative patient care with the ultimate goal of creating a world without cancer.

Clip In 4 the Cure will continue to follow guidance from hospital leadership pursuant to CDC updates for social distancing, masking, vaccination and testing guidelines. Event organizers will communicate protocols and updates to participants via email prior to the event.

Because it’s Pi Day in Worcester…Polar Park to host Inaugural “Pie-K” Saturday, April 30, presented by Table Talk Pies to Benefit The WooSox Foundation

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Red Sox will team up with a century-old staple of the Worcester community, Table Talk Pies, to host the Inaugural “Table Talk Pies Pie-K” which starts and ends at Polar Park, Saturday, April 30. Opening Ceremonies commence at 8:15 a.m., followed by the race at 9 a.m. Closing Ceremonies take place at 10:30 a.m.

Registration is now open at woosox.com or woosoxfoundation.org/pie-k. Using this link, participants may also purchase a special Berm ticket, presented by Simply Orthodontics, to the WooSox’ Friday night game April 29, or the late afternoon game Saturday, April 30. Five dollars of the $14 ticket will benefit the WooSox Foundation.

The walk ‘n’ run begins and ends at the ballpark and showcases the Heart of the Commonwealth, including the Miss Worcester Diner, City Hall, the Mercantile Center, and the DCU Center. For those who would like an inside-the-park home run (or walk), they will be permitted to enjoy the Polar Park Warning Track. Each lap is a quarter mile.

Pie-K participants will comprise six age groups: under 18, 18–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 and up. The male and female winners of each group receive a special WooSox Swag Bag. All participants will receive a medal and a Table Talk Pie.

The male and female to place first overall will each receive the grand prize, including four tickets to a mutually agreed upon WooSox game with seats in the suite of WooSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg; the opportunity to throw out a Ceremonial First Pitch; a WooSox Swag Bag, and a commemorative plaque.

The second-place finishers will each receive four tickets to a WooSox game; the opportunity to say, “Play Ball!” presented by Webster Five Bank at home plate before the game; a WooSox Swag Bag; and a commemorative plaque.

The third-place finishers will each receive two tickets to a WooSox game; the opportunity to participate in “Placing the Bases” before a game; a WooSox Swag Bag; and a commemorative plaque.

Friends and family members are invited to cheer on their loved ones from anywhere along the Main Concourse, including the seating bowl. Concessions will be available for purchase. In addition, children may enjoy the Plymouth St. Playground, presented by the CCUA, where they will be greeted by WooSox Mascots Smiley Ball and Woofster the WonderDog.

“We have long contemplated a 5K that starts and ends at Polar Park,” Steinberg said, “and we are thrilled that our corporate partners, Table Talk Pies, are making our 5K a Pie-K. We are also delighted that the route is quintessential Worcester, with many of the landmarks that reflect the past and future of this warm and welcoming city. With so many sites, our runners may lead the league in selfies.”

The WooSox Foundation, established January 28, 2020, focuses primarily on four areas: education, social justice, conquering cancer, and diamond sports. Among its programs are WooSox Scholars, middle schoolers who each receive college scholarships of $10,000; WooSox Mentors, front office members who partner with Big Brothers/Big Sisters to spend time with children at Gates Lane Elementary School; the WooSox’ partnership with UMass Memorial Medical Center and the Jimmy Fund to help children and families who are in the battle; and “Tyler’s Teammates,” which helps raise and distribute funds to give more children the opportunity to play and enjoy baseball and softball.

Hillsboro Hops Announce 2022 Virtual Hops Fund Banquet

HILLSBORO, OR (January 20, 2022) – The Hillsboro Hops (@HillsboroHops) are pleased to announce their annual Hillsboro Hops Fund Banquet will be going virtual in 2022. A live stream of the event will take place from 6:30-8 PM on Wednesday, February 2nd. There is no cost to view.

The goal of the Hillsboro Hops Fund is to develop and establish a community benefits program, the purpose of which is to promote, foster and support education, health, culture and youth activities, including activities for underprivileged youth, in the Greater Hillsboro area.

The Hillsboro Hops Fund Banquet is a signature fundraising event for the Hillsboro Hops Fund. This year’s edition will feature an online silent auction, highlights from the Hops community efforts over the past year and feature conversations with current and former Hops players and staff.

This year’s special guests include 2021 Hops Manager, Vince Harrison, drafted in 2001 by the Rays, Harrison played in the Minor League System until signing on as a coach in 2013 with the Diamondbacks. Joining him is Ronnie Gajownik, Gajownik played college softball at the University of South Florida before making the United States Women’s National Baseball team, where she won Gold at the 2015 Pan-Am Games. She served as the Hops Video Coordinator in 2021 and has accepted a coaching position within the Diamondbacks organization for 2022.

Rounding out the panel, is Tristin English, who played collegiately at Georgia Tech before being drafted by the Diamondbacks in the third round in 2019. English was a position player for the Hops in 2019 and 2021.

MODESTO NUTS RELEASE 2021 COMMUNITY IMPACT REPORT

MODESTO, CA – The report covers the 2021 fiscal year and discloses the Nuts contributions of over $170,000 to community related programs.

“It was an absolute honor to return in 2021 and offer Stanislaus County a safe, affordable place to enjoy friends, family & co-workers,” said Zach Brockman, General Manager of the Modesto Nuts. “We are supremely confident that our organization will complete that comeback in 2022 and get back to hosting more fans and attending more community events. Donations, in-kind services & direct support for quality-of-life projects in the Modesto area will return in full. We couldn’t be more excited for the future!“

With the help of The Parks Group and Mocse Credit Union, the Modesto Nuts began the Health and Wellness Program with over 10 schools enrolled and about 10,000 students participated. The Health and Wellness Program motivated children to focus on mental health, physical health, and cleanliness by offering performance-based incentives from Save Mart, Health Plan of San Joaquin, and The Modesto Nuts.

Non-profit organizations and little leagues used the Modesto Nuts ticket fundraising program to generate much needed funds. Additionally, the Nuts donated gift baskets which included game tickets, premium suites & autographed memorabilia.

Modesto front office donated their time generously to different organizations throughout the community. From school career fairs, to little league opening days, and much more; the Modesto Nuts were able to teach important values such as chasing dreams, having integrity and working hard for what they want.

Bike Donation Helps Area Families During Holiday Season

Dozens of children’s bicycles sat lined up all shiny and new outside of the Academy Sports + Outdoors location on South Walker Avenue in Oklahoma City on a recent chilly December morning.

Inside the store, a dozen more bikes surrounded a festive holiday display with balloons and a sign reading “Merry Christmas.”

In the middle of the display, Oklahoma City Dodgers mascot Brooklyn joined members of the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation, Academy Sports + Outdoors and the Latino Community Development Agency for a donation presentation.

Academy Sports + Outdoors, in partnership with the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation, donated 100 children’s bikes and helmets to the LCDA earlier this month in preparation for the holiday season. The bikes were then gifted to families in need identified through the LCDA.

Mets announce 5K to kick off spring training festivities

PORT ST LUCIE, Fla. – The St. Lucie Mets are excited to unveil plans for the first Swing into Spring Training 5K to be held on the eve of spring training, Sunday, February 13th at Clover Park.

The Swing into Spring Training 5K, sponsored by the Hospital for Special Surgery, will begin at 8 a.m. and is open to participants of all ages and skill levels.

Runners will receive a race bib, custom finisher medal, Swing into Spring Training T-shirt, swag bag and a ticket to a Mets spring training game (March 5th vs. Washington, March 18th vs. Pittsburgh or March 18th vs. Houston).

“The beginning of spring training is always an exciting time of year and this is great new way to kick off the season,” Lauren DeAcetis, St. Lucie Mets Director of Corporate Sales, said. “The Swing into Spring Training 5K will be fun for all runners, as they get to enjoy racing a new course in and around Clover Park.”

Adult entry fee is $50 prior to January 14th. After January 14th the cost is $55 and on race day it is $60. For kids 12-and-under the cost is $45 prior to January 14th, $50 after January 14th and $55 on race day. There is no fee for children under three.

A portion of the proceeds from the Swing into Spring Training 5K will benefit the Treasure Coast Hope for Homeless Foundation.

The race course begins near the Clover Park main gate, goes out along Peacock and California Boulevards, winds back around through the practice fields and concludes at home plate of the stadium. After the race participants can gather in the stadium to enjoy refreshments and live music while waiting for the awards ceremony.

Trash Pandas To Host September 11 Tribute Night

On Saturday, September 11 the Rocket City Trash Pandas, in conjunction with AUSA, are proud to host a special Tribute Night at Toyota Field as we honor and remember our heroes in recognition of the 20th Anniversary.

This tribute day will feature events throughout the day, capped off by a softball game featuring the USA Patriots against the BeArded WARRIORS, a dazzling post-game fireworks display, and a live concert after the game with Brandon Elder. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the event.

Pre-Game Activities

  • 9/11 Memorial Service: Madison Fire and Police departments will be hosting a memorial service beginning at 8:30 a.m. in honor of all of those who perished on September 11, 2001.
  • Adventure Fun Run: AUSA and Huntsville Boot Camp will be hosting a free adventure at Toyota Field following the conclusion of the 9/11 Memorial Service. Runners can register at https://bit.ly/AUSAfunrun. Check in starts at 8 a.m.
  • Cornhole Tournament: The AUSA Redstone Huntsville will be hosting a 16-team cornhole tournament beginning at 10 a.m. Space is limited and teams must register at https://bit.ly/AUSAcornhole.

  • Gates Open: All gates will open at 5 p.m. The USA Amputee Patriots and BeArded WARRIORS softball game will be seven innings and is scheduled to begin at 6:35 p.m.
  • T-Shirt Giveaway: The first 2,000 adults through the gates will receive a commemorative Tribute Night T-Shirt, presented by Northrop Grumman.
  • Meet and Greet: The USA Patriots softball team will be available for a meet and greet to sign autographs and take photos with fans on the concourse at Toyota Field from 5-5:30 p.m.
  • Parachute Team: Before the game, the All-Veterans Group Parachute Team will jump from the Rocket City sky and land on the field.
  • National Anthem: Sheena Collier will perform the national anthem, as a large American Flag is unfurled on the field by members of the local ROTC.
  • Tribute Night Fireworks: Following the game, a dazzling fireworks display will light up the Rocket City sky, presented by Northrop Grumman.
  • Post-Game Concert: After the fireworks, country music star and former American Idol contestant Brandon Elder will be performing live from home plate.

Bob Ross Night 4.0, Vaccine Drive, Fireworks part of ‘Tugas season-ending homestand

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Tortugas open their final homestand of the 2021 regular season on Tuesday, August 31, against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, the Single-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Among the highlights are a Bob Ross Night 4.0 extravaganza on Saturday, a Vaccination Drive on Wednesday, and the final Postgame Fireworks show of the campaign on Friday.

The Tortugas open up the set on Tuesday, August 31, with a Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Radiology Associates Imaging. Daytona players and coaches will don special pink-tinted uniforms to mark the occasion, as the organization raises money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Silver Sluggers Night — the best club in baseball for fans 60-and-over — presented by Conviva Cares Solutions will also be a part of the festivities. As a part of Silver Sluggers Night, fans can enjoy Michelob Ultra drafts for $2.50. The first pitch of that night and all weekday games are set for 7:05 p.m. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

The Tortugas, in conjunction with the Volusia County Health Department, will do their part in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by holding a Vaccination Drive from 6-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1. In the same token, charity remains a focal point for the organization with a Wishful Wednesday presented by VyStar Credit Union. The Tortugas partner with a local non-profit organization — this week it will be the Beacon Center — to swell up donations and awareness for a worthy cause. Starting at just $14, patrons will be able to enjoy all-you-can-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, and popcorn thanks to a Belly Buster Wednesday presented by Marco’s Pizza. The biggest party in Central Florida returns for one last hurrah in 2021 at the oldest ballpark in Minor League Baseball on September 2 courtesy of a Bud Light Thirsty Thursday. All those in attendance can beat the heat with fountain drinks and draft beers starting at as low as $1.

We recognize the selflessness of those who have aided others during the pandemic as a part of our second First Responders and Healthcare Heroes Appreciation Night on Friday, September 3. It will be another Friday Night Happy Hour presented by Kona Brewing Company. Fans will be able to enjoy free tastings of a selection of Kona Brewing draft beers from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Additionally, patrons will be able to enjoy Kona Brewing Company draft beers at a reduced price at all our beer stands throughout the evening. “The Best Dressed Team in Baseball” series continues all weekend as Tortugas players and coaches will don special No. 9 uniforms in honor of the ballpark’s namesake, Jackie Robinson. The franchise will also be honoring the winners of the Barrier Breakers Creativity Contest during that evening’s game. Fans are advised to stick around until after the final out, as the Tortugas host their final Postgame Fireworks show of the campaign.

The best promotion in baseball returns to Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Saturday, September 4, with Bob Ross Night 4.0. Fans are advised to get to the ballpark early, as the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a limited edition Paint-Your-Own Bob Ross Bobblehead presented by Radiology Associates Imaging. A painting station for fans to get a head start on personalizing their bobbleheads will be set up at the Turtle’s Nest along the first-base line. Fans will also be able to enjoy special food items at the concession stands featuring a “Paint Palette Box” with funnel fries, marshmallows, M & M’s, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch drizzled with chocolate syrup. It will also be a Copa de la Diversión celebration with special uniforms for players and coaches as a part of the weekend-long “Best Dressed Team in Baseball” series.

The Tortugas close out the home schedule with a 5:35 p.m. first pitch on Sunday, September 5, and the annual Scout Night at The Jack. Boys and Girl Scouts and their families will be able to enjoy discounted tickets to that evening’s contest. It will also be another Bark in the Park Night with fans being able to purchase a “pooch pass” for $2 at the box office so their furry four-legged friend can enjoy one last nine-inning vacation on the year, as well. We celebrate our beloved mascot Shelldon’s birthday on a Tiny ‘Tugas Night in Daytona Beach with special games and activities for all members of the best kids club in Volusia County. Daytona will be dressed in their Sunday best with special tuxedo-themed uniforms as part of the “Best Dressed Team in Baseball” series.

All specialty uniforms worn Tuesday and Friday through Sunday will be auctioned off on the Tortugas website following the conclusion of the homestand.

Drive, Prisma Partner on Next COVID-19 Vaccination Event September 1

The Greenville Drive, in partnership with Prisma Health, are set to host the latest COVID-19 vaccination event at Fluor Field Wednesday, September 1st as part of the Drive’s game against the Asheville Tourists. This will be the 5th vaccination event hosted at Fluor Field this season as the Drive, together with their long-time partner Prisma Health, set out to educate and protect the community from the ongoing challenges brought about by COVID-19.

Prisma will be administering the now FDA approved Pfizer vaccine.

With virus variants emerging and COVID once again surging in the community, getting vaccinated is more important than ever for the health & safety of our community.

The latest vaccination event at Fluor Field will take place from 6-8pm in the Power Alley hospitality area of the ballpark, directly inside the Main Street entrance to the stadium. No appointments are needed; vaccinations will be offered on a walk-up basis and administered by officials with Prisma Health. The Pfizer vaccine, which is now fully approved by the FDA, will be administered free of charge; those 12 years of age or older, needing their first or second dose, will be eligible. For those needing their second dose, it must be a minimum of three weeks since their first dose, but no later than six weeks.

To help encourage participation, all of those that get vaccinated at Fluor Field will receive:

Wind Surge to Host Series of COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

Sedgwick County Health Department to Administer Vaccines August 6, 28, and September 18.

Wichita, KS – The Wichita Wind Surge announced that they will again partner with the Sedgwick County Health Department to host a series of COVID-19 vaccinations at their home games on August 6, August 28, and September 18. Vaccinations are free, with no proof of insurance required, and will be available to anyone age 12 or older attending the game on any of the respective dates.

“The Sedgwick County Health Department is happy to once again partner with the Wichita Wind Surge to host these Covid-19 vaccine clinics,” said Carter James, Sedgwick County Health Department Vaccine Planning Manager. “Our community has embraced the Wind Surge throughout this pandemic, and we appreciate these additional opportunities to get vaccines out into our community so we can all take part in activities like a Wind Surge ballgame.”

Vaccinations will be administered by SCHD staff in the Wind Surge administrative building located in right field, from the time gates open – 90 minutes before game time – to 90 minutes after the game starts. Those who receive their vaccination will also receive a voucher good for two tickets to a future Wind Surge game.

“Vaccinations are a huge reason our community is able to gather again, including at Riverfront Stadium,” said Wind Surge CEO Jordan Kobritz, “With Covid-19 numbers once again on the rise, we are proud to partner with Sedgwick County Health Department in their efforts to keep our community healthy, safe, and open.”

Partnership Encourages Student Vaccinations August 3 & 5

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Hammons Field will be the host of the “Knock COVID Out of the Park” Vaccination Drives, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, during the Tuesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 5 games. This is a partnership between Springfield Public Schools (SPS), Springfield Cardinals, Springfield-Greene County Health Department, Mercy and Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.

The events are available for area students, ages 12 and up, and each student vaccinated at these drives will receive two free tickets to that night’s game, courtesy of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. All students receiving the vaccine must have a parent or legal guardian with them.

Any fan who would like more information about the COVID-19 vaccines will be able to learn more during the events from representatives with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Mercy and Springfield Greene-County Health Department.

Check-in for the vaccinations will be located on the Main Plaza, right outside of Gate 3 at Hammons Field, with vaccines available for two hours starting when gates open each night. In addition to the two free tickets, eligible students who get the vaccine during these drives will receive a free backpack or duffel bag while supplies last, courtesy of Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.

Tuesday, August 3 Vaccine Drive details:

· Tuesday’s vaccine drive will go from 5:35 p.m. – 7:35 p.m.

· This game is also a Great Southern Bank $1 Dog Day, with hot dogs available all night for just a buck.

· First Pitch is 6:35 p.m. vs. the Tulsa Drillers.

Thursday, August 5 Vaccine Drive details:

· Thursday’s vaccine drive will go from 6:05 p.m. – 8:05 p.m.

· This game is also a Klement’s $1 Bratwurst Night, with Klement’s brats available all night for just a buck.

· First Pitch is 7:05 p.m. vs. the Tulsa Drillers.

“We appreciate these outstanding community partners for making this opportunity available for our students,” said Dr. Grenita Lathan, superintendent of SPS. “The vaccines are safe and they work remarkably well by preventing serious illness and hospitalization. We encourage everyone over the age of 12 to be vaccinated now. This will help us turn the page and reclaim a sense of normalcy, which is what we all want.”

“As we look ahead, vaccinations are an important tool in helping students who participate in sports or other extracurricular activities have an uninterrupted experience,” said Josh Scott, director of athletics for SPS. “If vaccinated and asymptomatic, students will not have to quarantine if a fellow team member tests positive. If enough of our students are vaccinated, that can make the difference between a team remaining viable or being sidelined by COVID-19.”
