Awards for the Spring Cycle will be selected in March
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Kernels Foundation is now accepting grant request applications online at www.kernels.com. All information, including the application form, guidelines, and application cycles, can be found at the following link: https://www.milb.com/cedar-rapids/community/grants.
The Kernels Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for the Spring Cycle, which runs from January 1 – February 15. Approved grants will be announced in March.
The purpose of The Kernels Foundation is to ensure that all youth in Eastern Iowa have the opportunity to experience the thrills and life-enhancing lessons that come from engaging in athletics and recreational activities.
All grant applications that are submitted online will be evaluated by The Kernels Foundation Board of Directors.

(Reading, PA) – The Reading Fightin Phils announced on Thursday that former R-Phils and Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Steve Jeltz will be hosting a special baseball clinic at Rip It Batting Cages on Saturday, February 1st to benefit Baseballtown Charities.
CHARLESTON, SC – The Charleston RiverDogs are for the first time introducing a youth travel team program affiliated with the team, the New York Yankees’ Class-A South Atlantic League affiliate. The program will kick off with its first open tryout and information session, to be held on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the West Ashley High School baseball field. Check-in will start at 9:00 a.m., and the tryout will begin at 10:00a.m. Players who are eligible to participate in 9u through 12u programs are invited.
MOOSIC, PA (December 20, 2019) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, in partnership with Maines Food and Party Warehouse, will once again offering the Pinstripe Pals program, supporting area youth softball and baseball leagues. Applications are being accepted now and 10 youth leagues will be chosen to receive a sponsorship from The SWB Pinstripes Foundation and a gift card from Maines.
LAKEWOOD, NJ – The BlueClaws will be holding their annual Job Fair on Saturday, January 18th from 9 am until 1 pm at FirstEnergy Park. The team will interview for all part-time, seasonal positions that run from April through the team’s last home game.
The Philadelphia Phillies and Clearwater Threshers at Spectrum Field are hiring seasonal game day staff for 2020! Interviews will be conducted on site at the Spectrum Field Job Fair on Thursday, January 9, from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
EL PASO – December 19, 2019 – Southwest University Park, home of the Chihuahuas and Locomotive, will host its 2020 job fair in a two-day event starting on Tuesday, January 14th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and concluding on Wednesday, January 15th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the WestStar Club at Southwest University Park.
GRAND CHUTE, WI – It was a good year for the various charities supported by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Charity Fund. The Rattlers have released a brief report on their charitable works during 2019 as they prepare for 2020.
The team was also involved in programs like Whiffer’s Fitness Program and Fang’s Reading Club. The reading club is an incentive-based program that allows schools in Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula to get children from Kindergarten through fifth grade involved in reading. The fitness program helped to get kids in the Fox Cities to get and stay active.
The Timber Rattlers front offices also tended to their on-site garden to grow and harvest over 400 pounds of food in the Greenstone Farm Credit Services Ballpark Garden at Neuroscience Group Field. The fresh vegetables were taken to St. Joe’s Food Pantry.

GENEVA, Ill. – The Kane County Cougars Baseball Foundation was honored yesterday on the NASDAQ MarketSite Tower that illuminates Times Square with a special message of congratulations after the Foundation received the 2019 Ballpark Digest Commitment to Charity award at the Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego, Calif. This was a historic event as the Cougars Foundation became the first MiLB Foundation to appear on the NASDAQ MarketSite Tower.
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Gwinnett Stripers, in conjunction with the Atlanta Braves Foundation, are now accepting applications for the 2020 Stripers Grant Program. The program will award a $2,500 grant to a different nonprofit organization each month from May through August.
