More than 5,000 students attended the game and were able to watch the Mudcats play while also learning about how the various ways in which weather factors into the outcome of a baseball game.

Children ages five to 14 years old are eligible. Each camper is responsible for bringing a glove, bat and any safety equipment normally worn in organized play (please remember to label ALL equipment).
Each participant receives a General Admission Ticket to see the Mudcats vs. Frederick Keys that same evening (August 19) at 5:00 p.m. and a Mudcats Baseball T-shirt.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (April 18, 2017) – With dinosaurs, fireworks, and a Play Station 4 giveaway, the Kannapolis Intimidators 4-game home stand April 20-23 has something for everyone. Fans in attendance on April 20 will be eligible to win a PS4 as the Intimidators host Gamer Night on Thirsty Thursday at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. The Kannapolis Intimidators have partnered with the Center for Prevention Services to host a “Medication Take Back Event” at Opening Night on Thursday, April 6, at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. This provides a great opportunity for community residents to dispose of their unwanted, unused, and expired medications. Fans that bring medications to drop off will receive a voucher for $2 off their ticket at the Intimidators Opening Night game.
Fans will have a chance to meet Major League Baseball legend Darryl Strawberry, who will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans from 7-9 p.m. courtesy of Hope Haven and Serenity House.
The Center for Prevention Services will have an educational booth located inside the stadium with safe medication storage and disposal information, keychains, t-shirts and so much more to share with game attendees. The Center for Prevention Services will be supported by community partners and high school students (members of Taking Responsible Actions in Life Program) in their effort to reach out to community residents with this great message.

Hickory, NC- The Hickory Crawdads and Barkley Baseball School are partnering once again to provide fans with both a free, one-day clinic and a four-day, paid camp this season at L.P. Frans Stadium.
The Free Clinic is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th from 2:50 pm -5:00 pm. Kids ages 5-14 will receive training from both the Barkley Baseball School instructors and Crawdads players, while also taking home a free ticket to that night’s ‘Dads game.
The four-day, paid Baseball Camp will run from Tuesday, July 18th through Friday, July 21st. Attendees will receive in-depth instruction from Barkley teachers and Crawdads players every day from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, while also getting a baseball camp t-shirt, a free meal each day, a ticket to every ‘Dads game during the camp, and a pre-game parade around the field on July 21st.
Registration for the Baseball Camp is only $80 for all Claw Club members and $99 for non-members until June 30th. The fee rises to $115 from July 1st – July 17th, and is $130 if paid the day of the camp. GREENSBORO, N.C. – With less than a week’s supply of food on the shelves, Greensboro Urban Ministry’s executive director turned to the community for help on Monday afternoon. On Wednesday, Greensboro Grasshoppers President and General Manager Donald Moore delivered a home run.
The Hoppers presented Greensboro Urban Ministry (GUM) with a check for $5,000 to purchase needed food items immediately.
“Hunger and food insecurity create a terrible need in our community, and we thought it was the right thing to do to get involved and encourage others to step up so that our neighbors who need food can continue to receive help,” Moore said Wednesday afternoon. “This donation – and the tremendous support it represents – is such a blessing to the households who are counting on food assistance to make ends meet,” said Rev. Myron W. Wilkins, GUM executive director. “We are thankful and grateful for the Grasshoppers’ quick and generous response.”
The Greensboro Grasshoppers are a key partner in GUM and Church World Service’s annual CROP Hunger Walk.
Greensboro Urban Ministry’s Food Pantry is the largest local resource for men, women and families who lack adequate access to food. Requests for assistance continue to increase. In the first 12 business days in January, GUM distributed 49,686 pounds of food through emergency assistance food bags, compared with 59,132 pounds for the entire month of January 2016.
GUM distributed 1,058,152 pounds of food to the community in 2016 through the food pantry and Potter’s House Community Kitchen, which serves lunch daily to anyone in the community who is hungry. The majority of the food, 759,737 pounds, was distributed through the food pantry to men, women and families with children needing food assistance. GUM assisted 38,429 individuals and 20,947 households with food assistance in 2016.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Nov. 15, 2016) – The Winston-Salem Dash’s annual Commemorative Brick “Call-A-Thon” will take place on Tuesday, November 29, from 4-6 p.m. Through this event, the Dash will raise money for the organization’s 2016 Charity Partner, Veterans Helping Veterans Heal (VHVH).
Throughout the Call-A-Thon, members of the Dash’s front office team and VHVH will sell engraved bricks that will be installed outside the main gates at BB&T Ballpark in advance of the 2017 season. These bricks can be personalized to honor family members or friends, memorialize a loved one or celebrate a special event.
From now until the end of the Call-A-Thon, the Dash are offering special pricing for these bricks. The first brick is just $125, and each additional brick is only $75 each. Normally, the cost of additional bricks is $100.
In addition to brick purchases, the Dash are accepting monetary donations for VHVH, which can support a veteran for a day with a $10 donation, a week with a $50 donation or a month with a $300 donation. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Sept. 13, 2016) – The Winston-Salem Dash and Flow Chevrolet have announced that Northwest Forsyth American Little League (NWFALL) has won the 2016 Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation program. Therefore, NWFALL’s field will receive a Major League makeover this fall.
The Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation contest, which ran throughout the month of July, invited area Little Leagues and softball leagues to submit videos to the Dash on social media to show why their field is in need and deserving of a makeover. NWFALL’s submission emerged victorious from a group of impressive finalists.
This marks NWFALL’s 52nd year of operation, and more than 400 players participated in spring activities in 2016. The little league added a Challenger Division for children with physical or mental challenges this season. NWFALL also hosts several district and state tournaments in baseball and softball.
“NWFALL is thrilled to be the recipient of the Diamond in the Rough renovation,” said Chris Swink, President of NWFALL. “The renovations and upgrades so generously provided by Flow Chevrolet and the Dash will have a big impact on all of our players. We want to thank both Flow Chevrolet and the Dash for their support of Little League Baseball in our community.”
The Flow Chevrolet Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation program will be transforming its third facility. This special three day long event will take place May 15, 16 and 17 when the Mudcats play the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
“Strikeout Cancer Weekend” is designed to raise awareness and help in the fight against cancer. It is also designed to help raise funds for local cancer fighting charities.

ZEBULON, NC – The Carolina Mudcats, the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and member of the historic Carolina League, will host the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina as they grant a special wish on May the Fourth Be With You Night at Five County Stadium on Monday, May 4.
May the Fourth Be With You is a Star Wars themed night that will take place on Monday, May 4 when the Mudcats play the Frederick Keys in Zebulon at 7:00 p.m.
The Eastern North Carolina Make-A-Wish Foundation will grant a special wish to a young child with a special ceremony scheduled to take place on the field on May 4 in conjunction with the special theme night. Additionally, the Mudcats will also make a donation to the Eastern North Carolina Make-A-Wish Foundation with a check presentation before the game.
The Mudcats have also invited young fans, and their families, from the Eastern North Carolina Make-A-Wish Foundation to participate in the May the Fourth Be With You festivities. Fans wearing a Star Wars themed costume to the game will have an opportunity to purchase $6.00 discounted tickets.
The Carolina Garrison, a local chapter of the 501st Legion (a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans) will also participate in Monday’s May the Fourth Be With You Night. The Carolina Garrison is the only official chapter of the 501st Legion in North and South Carolina.

Hickory, NC – The Hickory Crawdads, the Hickory Downtown Development Association, and the Hickory Convention & Visitors Bureau are teaming up to host the free Downtown Crawdads Bash event on Tuesday, May 12th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm “Under the Sails” in downtown Hickory.
