AUGUSTA, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets, Single “A” affiliate of the San Francisco Giants are excited to team up with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life to present Hopefest on Saturday, November 19th from 9AM-2PM. Hopefest will feature Bark For Life and also the announcing of the winner for the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign.
Hopefest will include a 5k/Fun Run/Walk, 1 mile walk, vendors, giveaways, local animal shelters, pet costume contests, games, entertainment, children’s activities and health and wellness information. To go along with all the activities, The Real Man of the CSRA will be named. Real Men Wear Pink is a distinguished group of community leaders raising awareness and funds for this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. Together they are making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
“We strive to be very involved all throughout the CSRA, whether it be with non-profits, like the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, or any kind of community function or event,” stated Tom Denlinger GreenJackets General Manager. “The CSRA has been home to us for going on 29 seasons now and to be able to host such a heartwarming and fun event is such an honor.”
The event is part of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement, which is the world’s largest fundraising event to save lives from cancer. Uniting communities across the globe, we celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change. Funds raised help the American Cancer Society provide free information and support for people facing the disease today, and fund cancer research that will help protect future generations.

As part of the Capital BlueCross “Live Fearless” Outstanding Student program, the Reading Fightin Phils have donated $3,073 to participating schools in the club’s surrounding community. Schools will be able to support students and contribute to the educational process with the funds donated through the program.
ASHEVILLE, NC— Firefighter donations are now being accepted at the McCormick Field ServPro Box Office. Donations to local firefighters may be made during the stadium hours of operation of 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday. All donors will receive a pair of complimentary tickets to a future, select Asheville Tourists game.
After serving a homemade four-course steak dinner to veterans in the PawSox Clubhouse on the eve of Veterans Day, the PawSox celebrated the national holiday today as well, presenting a check of $3,000 to Operation Stand Down Rhode Island in ceremonies with Governor Raimondo at the Warwick Mall. Also attending the ceremonies were United States Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, and Representative Jim Langevin.
SALISBURY, Md. — The Delmarva Shorebirds are excited to announce an inaugural event this holiday season called Cards for Troops. Cards for Troops is replacing the Cookies with Claus Event the Shorebirds have hosted in previous years. Cards for Troops will be at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Saturday, December 10th from 9:00 AM to noon. The event will also include an area for guests to send well wishes to soldiers overseas, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and a toy drive for Brooke’s Toy Closet at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
DANVILLE, Va. – In recognition of Veterans Day, the Danville Braves presented the Danville Veteran’s Memorial Fund with a donation of over $1,200. The D-Braves raised the funds by auctioning off game-worn military appreciation jerseys from the 2016 season. A total of $2,419.04 was raised through the auction, with half being donated to the Danville Veteran’s Memorial Fund and half to the Camp Lejeune Fisher House.

In recognition of Veterans Day, the Lexington Legends are introducing a six-game ticket package for 2017 that will include Military Appreciation Night, Independence Day and a Sunday game on Memorial Day Weekend. The package, which is available through November 14, also includes the home opener and the final home date of the season when the Legends, class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, will play a doubleheader.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Minor League Baseball today named the Round Rock Express the recipient of the fourth annual John Henry Moss Community Service Award. The award was created in 2013 by Minor League Baseball in honor of the late John Henry Moss, who founded what would become the South Atlantic League in 1959 and headed the circuit until 2007. The Express will receive their award at the Baseball Winter Meetings Banquet on Sunday, Dec. 4, at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
