Fluor Field to Host Heroes Softball Game October 31

The Greenville Drive are excited to partner with The City of Greenville to host the first Heroes Softball game at Fluor Field October 31 to support Shriners Hospital for Children.

Admission to the game between the Greenville Police Department and Fire Department is free but donations are encouraged.

First pitch is set for 2 PM while the Main Street gate will open at 1 PM.

Boo Bash Returns in 2021 to BayCare Ballpark

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Boo Bash is back at BayCare Ballpark! The 2021 edition of the free, family-friendly Halloween event is on Sunday, October 31st. BayCare Ballpark gates will be open from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. for children to trick-or-treat on the concourse.

Kids may gather candy and goodies from the tables of local businesses around the ballpark. There will also be festive photo ops and a kids’ costume parade around the bases.

Businesses interested in being a vendor for this event may sign up for a table by October 28.

Dodgers, USA Softball to Host PLAY BALL Event Oct. 24

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Dodgers, USA Softball and OKC Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, will host a free PLAY BALL event for all children 18 and under at Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City Sunday, October 24 from 4-5:30 p.m.

Participants will take part in a series of basic drills in order to further development of the game and promote awareness for the upcoming OKC Dodgers Rookie League in Spring 2022. All participants will receive a free Franklin bat and ball set, T-shirt and bracelet.

In addition to USA Softball, instruction will also be provided by Turiya Coleman of the University of Oklahoma softball team, as well as members of the Oklahoma Christian University softball team.

In partnership with Major League Baseball and USA Baseball, USA Softball launched the “PLAY BALL” initiative in 2015. Together, PLAY BALL events are conducted across the United States, offering opportunity for youth athletes to get involved in the game. PLAY BALL encourages widespread participation in all forms of softball and baseball among all age groups – especially youth – whether at the championship or recreational level. The initiative also provides players, parents and coaches with information and resources to help with proper play and instruction.

Rawhide gives back with $30,000 in grants to Visalia Community

Visalia, CA – To commemorate the end of a wonderful 2021 season of Rawhide Baseball under new ownership, the Sigal Family Rawhide Charitable Fund is pleased to announce their 2021 Community Grants. In partnership with the Central Valley Community Foundation, three grants of $10,000 each will be awarded to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias, Family Services of Tulare County, and United Way of Tulare County.

“We fully support the good work of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias, Family Services of Tulare County, and the United Way of Tulare County”, said Sam Sigal, President and Co-owner of the Visalia Rawhide. “The work that these three organizations do could not be more vital to our community.”

The Boys and Girls Clubs will receive $10,000 to provide needed maintenance on their facilities. This grant will help Boys & Girls Clubs provide safe, quality spaces for kids to attend during after school hours, school holidays and summer vacation. “We are very thankful to the Sigal Family for their concern and investment in our community’s children,” said CEO Galen Quenzer. Tulare County currently has 15 clubs located throughout the South Valley and sees an average of 910 kids a day.

Family Services of Tulare County will receive $10,000 to continue providing emergency shelter, counseling, and legal services for survivors of domestic violence and their children, as well as other programs that help strengthen families and prevent future violence. “During the COVID-19 Pandemic the need for our services increased, while survivors of violence faced new barriers to seeking safety,” said Caity Meader, CEO. “The Sigal family’s donation allows Family Services to continue its work to help local children and families heal from violence and thrive in healthy relationships.” Family Services works with more than 5,000 people each year.

United Way has been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response in Tulare County. They will receive $10,000 to continue connecting community members with resources and services through their non-emergency hotline and comprehensive app. United Way directly serves families that have been impacted by COVID-19 by connecting them with available resources. This grant will provide critical mortgage and utility assistance for 20 families. The need in Tulare County is great. In the past year and a half, over 2700 families have requested support for mortgage and utility bills totaling over $3,000,000.

Shorebirds and Concord Pet Foods & Supplies Donate over $2,500 in Pet Supplies and $900 in cash to Humane Society of Wicomico County

Through the Shorebirds Wag Your Tail Tuesday promotion during the 2021 season, the Shorebirds and Concord Pet Foods & Supplies were able to raise over $2,500 worth of pet supplies to donate to the Humane Society of Wicomico County. In addition, through Wag Your Tail Tuesdays and Shorebirds Season Ticket Holders, the Shorebirds were able to raise an additional $900 in cash to donate to the Humane Society of Wicomico County to aid in their efforts of finding forever homes for animals.

Through the Shorebirds Wag Your Tail Tuesday Promotion hosted every Tuesday starting on June 15, 2021, the Shorebirds and Concord Pet Foods & Supplies teamed up to allow fans to bring their dog to Perdue Stadium to watch a Shorebirds game. In turn, fans were able to gain free admission for their dogs if they donated a toy, treats, food, or paper towels to the Humane Society of Wicomico County. Through this initiative, the Shorebirds and Concord Pet Foods & Supplies were able to raise over $2,500 worth of pet supplies that were donated to the Humane Society of Wicomico County earlier this month.

“Through partners like Concord Pet Foods & Supplies, we are able to positively impact our community in a variety of different ways like the Wag Your Tail Tuesday Promotion,” said Shorebirds General Manager Chris Bitters. “We love seeing all the dogs at Perdue Stadium and we are thrilled to have been able to partner with Concord Pet Foods & Supplies, our Season Ticket Holders, and fans to donate pet supplies and a monetary donation to the Humane Society.”

In addition to the donation of pet supplies, the Shorebirds also teamed up with Season Ticket Holders and Concord Pet Foods & Supplies to raise an additional $900 to donate to the Humane Society of Wicomico County. Prior to the season, Season Ticket Holders were given the opportunity through the Shorebirds Season Ticket Holder rollover incentive program to donate a portion of their tickets to a charity of their choice. Through this program and monetary donations collected through the Wag Your Tail Tuesday promotion, the Shorebirds were able to provide the Humane Society of Wicomico County with an additional $900 to support their efforts in finding animals their forever home.

In total, the Shorebirds, Concord Pet Foods & Supplies, and Season Ticket Holders were able to raise over $3,400 in pet supplies and monetary donations to support the Humane Society of Wicomico County.

Read & Hit a Home Run Reading Program Returns For 2022

Bowie, Md: The Bowie Baysox are excited to announce the return of their “Read & Hit a Home Run” Reading Program in partnership with Educational Systems Federal Credit Union for the 2021-2022 school year. This year marks the program’s 25th year working with schools to encourage literacy education around the region.

The program, which began in 1996 (the 4th season of Baysox Baseball), works with over 200 schools across the DMV region, impacting over 35,000 elementary and middle school students a year. Those numbers include public schools, private schools and area homeschools/co-ops, helping encourage and foster an excitement for literacy in students.

Registration for the free program is now open for the 2021-22 school year. Public, Private and Home Schools can register for the program HERE. Registered schools can participate in the program by having their students read four (4) books during the given time frame. Every student that completes the reading goal will receive two free tickets to their school’s Read & Hit a Home Run Reading Program Rewards game during the Baysox 2022 season. Students that completed the program will be recognized for their accomplishments during the game.

All reading teachers & media specialists and homeschool teachers/directors are encouraged to register their school. Once registered, all students can participate in a jersey design contest, with the winning design being unveiled at a school assembly. Actual jerseys will be made out of the winning design, and those jerseys will be worn by the Baysox players during a game. The game worn jerseys will be auctioned off with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the school of the winning designer.

Rattlers & Scheels Host Trick-or-Treat at the Ballpark on October 31

GRAND CHUTE, WI – Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium is the place to be for Halloween! The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Scheels will host a free Trick-or-Treat event for kids at the ballpark on Sunday, October 31 from noon to 3:00pm. Make sure to attend in costume.

There will be food trucks outside the stadium to provide refreshments during the event and participating sponsors will be set up on the concourse with treats for the children. There will be Halloween-themed games to play, too.

Make the stadium your first stop for the day and you will still have time to make it out in time for Trick-or-Treat in your town.

Track-or-Treat at Hammons Field event, ticket, timing information

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — TRACK-OR-TREAT, presented by Xtream, is back! On Saturday, October 30, Hammons Field opens up to any and all ghosts, goblins, ghouls and their spooky costumed counterparts for a free night of trick-or-treating around our award-winning field.

To participate, families must sign up for a specific time slot between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes! Please note each group must include at least one child aged 12 or under and each group member (adults and children) must have their own ticket. Time slots will be organized in 15-minute increments.

Springfield Cardinals RED Access Members will be granted an early registration window from Monday, October 18 to Tuesday, October 19.

Sign-ups open to all fans on Wednesday, October 20.

Space per time slot and for the entire event is limited and expected to sell out quickly, so be prepared to sign up online or call 417-863-0395. Sign-up links will be shared with fans through e-mail, Cardinals social media and online on the above dates.

Once inside, Track-or-Treaters will walk around the Hammons Field warning track where they’ll get to collect candy from different tents and tables decorated and assembled by Cardinals partners and other Springfield companies. The Cardinals will have Halloween-themed fun and music playing on the video board and will have a photo station set up in center field. Before exiting, kids can pick out a pumpkin from the Price Cutter Pumpkin Patch (while pumpkin supplies last)!

Patriots To Receive SCBP Economic Vitality Award

Bridgewater, New Jersey- The Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) have selected the Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, as a recipient of their annual Economic Vitality Awards.

The Economic Vitality Award is designed to recognize an organization’s leadership in enhancing the economic competitiveness of Somerset County.

“First and foremost, this award is a recognition of the community we serve,” said Patriots President/General Manager Patrick McVerry. “We’ve always prided ourselves on being the hometown team and a strong representative of the local business community. Now with our partnership with the New York Yankees and Major League Baseball, we look forward to shining an even brighter spotlight on why Somerset County is one of the best places in the state and throughout the country to live, work, and play.”

It is the second time that the team has been honored with the award (2005). After 23 seasons in independent baseball, Somerset became the Yankees Double-A affiliate in 2021. The Patriots now combine the experience that fans have come to love with the excitement of seeing the Yankees’ future stars, as well as current MLB players during rehab assignments, as part of Minor League Baseball.

Home Runs for Heroes Scores Record-Breaking $91,000 For Charities

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – OceanFirst Foundation has awarded $91,000 to 16 non-profits through its Home Runs for Heroes partnership with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws and Townsquare Media. Each home run hit by the Jersey Shore BlueClaws at FirstEnergy Park during the 2021 season scored a $1,000 donation from OceanFirst Foundation for designated charities that helps to meet the emergency and basic needs of local Veterans and members of the United States Armed Forces. Townsquare Media has donated promotional support to each of the charity partners since the program’s inception. In the thirteen seasons of Home Runs for Heroes, a total of $499,000 in grants have been awarded to charities supporting our nation’s heroes.

“92.7 WOBM and Beach Radio 104.1 are honored to play a small role in the success of this wonderful program which supports active and retired members of the military and their families. The shore area is home to many of our veterans and Home Runs for Heroes is a terrific initiative by OceanFirst Foundation and Jersey Shore BlueClaws to help and honor those who have worn the uniform. Shorebirds Raise over $4,900 for Operation We Care through 9/11 Patriotic Jersey Auction

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, the Delmarva Shorebirds wore special patriotic jerseys to honor the 20th anniversary of all those lost through the terrible attacks of September 11, 2001. Through the patriotic jersey auction, the Shorebirds were able to raise $4,916.52 for Operation We Care to support the men and women who serve in the military and as first responders. In addition, Operation We Care will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Department of MD VFW Family Assistance Program.

“Operation We Care is a great initiative that the Shorebirds are proud to support each and every year,” explained Shorebirds General Manager Chris Bitters. “Our men and women in our military, hospitals, and first responders have been battling on the front lines throughout the pandemic and we are thrilled to support them by donating to Operation We Care to aid in their efforts.”

The special patriotic jerseys honored all our military branches with all the service marks located on the back of each jersey. On the front of the jersey underneath the Shorebirds script, was the United States official seal with stars and stripes located just below each player’s jersey number. On the right sleeve of each jersey, the Shorebirds placed a Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States badge in support of all veterans and those who have served our country. The jersey auction was held online from September 11 to September 22 with fans having the opportunity to bid on these special, game-worn autographed jerseys.

On September 11, 2021, the Shorebirds hosted a special patriotic night to honor the lives lost during the September 11th attacks presented by Pohanka of Salisbury. The night featured the players wearing these patriotic jerseys, special in-game tributes, and the night capped with the final fireworks show of the year presented by Pohanka of Salisbury.

Trick-Or-Treat At Louisville Slugger Field

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Louisville Bats are treating families to a night of Halloween fun at Louisville Slugger Field for the first-ever Trick-or-Treat at the Ballpark on Friday, Oct. 22 from 6:30 – 10 p.m. The holiday festivities will include trick-or-treating on the concourse, a costume contest with prizes for both kids and adults and a screening of the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus” on Louisville Slugger Field’s giant, high-definition video board.

Trick-or-Treat at the Ballpark is free to attend for kids ages 12 and under and just $5 for each accompanying adult. Tickets can be purchased in advance at batsbaseball.com or in-person at the Box Office window upon arrival to the ballpark.

The event offers the opportunity to trick-or-treat in a fun, safe and family-friendly environment. The Bats will have trick-or-treating stations set up around the concourse and participating sponsors will provide treats for trick-or-treaters as families make their way around the ballpark throughout the evening.

While trick-or-treating, fans can stop by the Suite Lobby behind Section 115 to register for the evening’s costume contest. Registration must be completed by 7:30 p.m. and the Bats will announce winners for best costume (adult), best costume (child), best couple costume, scariest costume and funniest costume at 8 p.m. Each winner will receive a special trophy and limited-edition Bats Prize Pack.

Following the costume contest, fans are invited to grab seats in the park for a screening of the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus” (rated PG). Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis on the outfield grass and within the stadium-bowl seating area (chair-back seats). The movie is scheduled to run from 8 – 10 p.m.

Concessions will be open throughout the evening on the concourse. Available items and pricing will be consistent with a normal Louisville Bats game day.

Teachers may begin enrolling their schools in the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers program that encourages reading development in children from grades K through 5! This year’s program is presented by Fox Communities Credit Union, Badger Sports Park, Myndology, and EatStreet. Teachers and reading coordinators have until December 31 to get involved in this program.

Personnel at participating schools have the flexibility to design the program to meet the needs of their students. Students who meet all their goals for the program are rewarded with a FREE ticket as part of their school’s Family Night at a Timber Rattlers game in 2022. Sponsors and the Timber Rattlers will have a special prize waiting for those who complete the program at the ballpark when they attend their game!

The Timber Rattlers and the sponsors of Fang’s Reading Club will provide:

  • An introductory letter to be sent to parents at the start of the program.
  • Baseball related verification aids to help parents and teachers track the progress of participants.
  • A FREE ticket to a 2022 Timber Rattlers home game with a hot dog & soda voucher for students who complete the program.
  • Home Run Prize to be redeemed by students on their School’s Family Night at the Ballpark.
  • An easy, online ticket ordering option.
  • Information to aid schools in setting up their Family Night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

The club had 125 schools and over 25,000 students participate in the program last year. Fang wants to make this year’s club even bigger and he needs you!

BlueClaws Charities Accepting Grant Applications

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – BlueClaws Charities, the 501c3 foundation of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, is now accepting grant applications from area organizations. Organizations may apply for a grant through Friday, October 29th.

“BlueClaws Charities’ goal is to support the less fortunate in Ocean & Monmouth Counties, and one of the ways that we give back is through our end-of-year grant program,” said BlueClaws Charities President Kevin Fenstermacher. “We encourage non-profits to apply for a grant through this process so we can continue to give back to the Jersey Shore community.”

Organizations are asked to provide specific details about where the grant money will be used. Priority will be given to organizations whose projects are based in Ocean & Monmouth Counties. Filling out an application does not ensure the receipt of a grant. Grant allocations will be made in November by the BlueClaws Charities Board of Directors.

BlueClaws Charities raises money in a variety of ways throughout the year. In-stadium fundraising includes a nightly 50/50 raffle, jersey auctions, scoreboard messages, and other miscellaneous raffles. BlueClaws Charities also raised money through Mystery Bags sold at games this summer. This year, the team hosted a Virtual Hot Stove event in March that featured several Phillies players and personalities and included an online auction. Other fundraising included “Wash Your Claws” t-shirt sales last year.

BlueClaws Charities is the official 501c3 organization of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

Yard Goats to Once Again Host Connecticut’s Largest Halloween Trick or Treat Community Event

Free Event set for Sunday, October 24th at Dunkin’ Donuts Park from 12:00PM until 3:00PM

Hartford, Conn- The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, has announced it will be hosting Connecticut’s largest Halloween Trick or Treat community event for the third year at Dunkin’ Donuts Park on Sunday, October 24th from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. This free event will be open to the public and kids 12 and under are invited to participate. The Yard Goats Halloween Trick or Treat will take place throughout the open concourse at the ballpark. All participants may enter through the Center Field gate on Trumbull Street.

Over 50 local businesses and sponsors will be participating in the event and passing out candy to the kids.

“We’re happy to be able to once again provide a fun environment for children to celebrate Halloween,” Yard Goats President Tim Restall said. “It’s another great way Dunkin’ Donuts Park serves as the front porch of our community.”
