Jumbo Shrimp open registration for February 20 National Anthem auditions

2020 NATIONAL ANTHEM REGISTRATION FORM

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp prepare to open their schedule of 70 home games on April 15, the club is inviting the talent of Northeast Florida to audition to perform the National Anthem before a Jumbo Shrimp home game this season. Individuals and groups can now register for the February 20 National Anthem auditions, to be held at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

National Anthem auditions will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 20 – rain or shine – at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Interested individuals and groups may schedule an audition time by completing a registration form emailing it to director of promotions & special events David Ratz at david@jaxshrimp.com or faxing to (904) 358-2845.

Individuals or groups who performed during the 2019 Jumbo Shrimp season are not required to audition if they are interested in performing again in 2020. Such individuals or groups should still complete and email the registration form, indicating a past performance at a Jumbo Shrimp game.

“We always enjoy listening to local individuals and groups perform to have an opportunity to open each Jumbo Shrimp game in the 2020 season,” said Jumbo Shrimp executive vice president/general manager Harold Craw. “Jumbo Shrimp games at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville are community events, and we are excited to build another extraordinary lineup of local talent that will be among the highlights of each night of Affordable Family Fun.”

National Anthem Auditions at Queen City Q on February 18

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) — The Charlotte Knights and Queen City Q — the team’s Official BBQ — are once again teaming up to host the club’s annual National Anthem auditions on Tuesday, February 18. For the seventh consecutive season, the auditions will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Queen City Q in Uptown Charlotte. The auditions are free of charge and are open to the public. Performers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Contestants will be required to pre-register before February 18 and will be given a specific time to perform that evening.

Anyone interested in auditioning at Queen City Q on February 18 should fill out an online registration form: http://bit.ly/KnightsNationalAnthemAuditions_2020.

Each individual will be given a maximum of two minutes to perform his or her best rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” on stage at Queen City Q. All in-person auditions will be given priority when selecting National Anthem performers for the upcoming 2020 season. Individuals with instruments are more than welcome to audition, but will need to bring their own equipment. Queen City Q is located at 225 E. 6th Street, Charlotte, NC 28101.

The Knights and Queen City Q recently renewed their partnership. Queen City Q has been prominently featured at BB&T Ballpark since April 11, 2014 — the opening of the team’s Uptown Charlotte home. The Knights and Queen City Q will now continue their partnership for another three seasons (through 2022).

“We have enjoyed a tremendous relationship with the Knights over the past six seasons and look forward to the next three seasons,” said Bryan Meredith, Managing Partner of Queen City Q.

Registration Now Open For 2020 National Anthem Tryouts

OKLAHOMA CITY – Registration is now open online for the 10th annual Oklahoma City Dodgers National Anthem Tryouts. The OKC Dodgers will host open auditions Saturday, March 28 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark for musical performers to sing or play “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Dodgers home games throughout the 2020 baseball season.

National Anthem Tryouts will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. March 28 in conjunction with OKC Dodgers Fan Fest. The tryouts will be held on the ballpark’s outer Johnny Bench Plaza, located at the corner of South Mickey Mantle and Reno Avenues.

“Our National Anthem Tryouts bring out many talented performers each spring and pairing the auditions with our annual Fan Fest has become an exciting way to kick off our season,” Oklahoma City Dodgers President/General Manager Michael Byrnes said. “This is the 10th straight year we have held auditions in front of a live audience, and the second straight year at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. We look forward to previewing what these skilled individuals and groups will showcase throughout the upcoming baseball season.”

The first 125 people to register online will have a guaranteed audition. The tryouts will be open to the public and registration begins today online at: okcdodgers.com/anthemtryouts. Registration slots typically fill well in advance of the event each year, so interested performers are encouraged to register early. The auditions draw a wide variety of performers from the Oklahoma City area, as well as from across the state of Oklahoma and even a handful from surrounding states.

Performers will take the stage to audition in front of a live audience and a judging panel consisting of city officials, community leaders and OKC Dodgers front office staff. Winners will be selected based on voice quality, creative style and stage presence.

Winners will perform the national anthem at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark throughout the upcoming 70-game home schedule. The grand prize winner will have the opportunity to perform as part of the OKC Dodgers’ Independence Day celebration July 3.

Those who do not register online will still have a chance to audition on a standby basis the day of the event. If the tryouts run ahead of schedule, or if a performer does not show up for a scheduled time, those in the standby line will be chosen to audition. Standby performers are encouraged to arrive early and will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the day.

Keys National Anthem Auditions Around the Corner

FREDERICK, MD -Local area singers and musicians can begin preparing for the 2020 Frederick Keys National Anthem auditions. Taking place on Tuesday, March 3, auditions are once again set to take place at the FSK Mall in Center Court from 5-8 p.m.

“You get so excited for the game when you have a great rendition of the national anthem beforehand,” said Keys Director of Public Relations and Broadcasting, Geoff Arnold. “Each year at Keys games I am impressed by the awesome talent in our community and I can’t wait to see what is out there in 2020.”

Individuals or groups who want to participate in this year’s auditions must pre-register by visiting frederickkeys.com. The participation form is available here and can also be found by clicking on the national anthem panel located on the main homepage.

National anthem forms MUST be submitted to Dani Fox by email, mail, fax or by dropping off at the Keys main office. To email Dani or for any additional questions, reach out to DFox@frederickkeys.com or call 301-662-0013.

March 3 is the ONLY day national anthem auditions will take place this year. Due to a large pool of tryout candidates, those who cannot make the auditions will not be able to perform in 2020. Video/audio links in place of an in-person tryout will not be accepted.

Once again, performers will be evaluated by a panel of judges from Key 103, 106.9 The Eagle as well as members of the Keys staff. Tryout results will be posted on the club’s social media platforms. Those who are selected to sing will be contacted to set up a date.

General rules/guidelines about the audition process:

-Tryouts occur on a first-come-first-serve basis

-Participants can either sing or play an instrument, but each individual gets only ONE audition

-Participants will sing/play the first verse of the national anthem in its entirety (“O say can you see to “and the home of the brave”)

-No musical accompaniment is provided

-No other songs may be performed at the tryout

-Solo acts and groups are equally encouraged to tryout

-Although there are no age restrictions for singing the national anthem at a Keys game, those who audition need to be comfortable singing in front of a large crowd

The Keys season begins on Thursday, April 9. South Bend Cubs Welcome National Anthem Auditions for Upcoming 2020 Season

SOUTH BEND, IN – Auditions and applications are now being accepted for individuals and groups to perform the National Anthem at Four Winds Field prior to a 2020 South Bend Cubs home game.

Audition Requirements:

All auditions must be submitted as a video. Audio files, tapes, or CDs will not be accepted. Videos will be accepted as a downloadable file, video link such as YouTube or Google Drive, or DVD. Videos can also be recorded on a mobile device. The 2020 audition form must accompany your submission. Performances of the National Anthem are not to exceed two minutes. All vocal auditions must be performed a cappella (no musical accompaniment). Instrumental performances will be accepted. Those who audition in groups must include all members in the audition video.

Please send all electronic auditions to marketing@southbendcubs.com. Mailed auditions should be sent to South Bend Cubs, National Anthem Audition, 501 W South St. South Bend, IN 46601. Audition drop-offs can be submitted at the same address.

The last day to submit 2020 National Anthem auditions is Monday, March 2, 2020. Applicants are asked to submit their audition video via email or DVD by dropping off at the Four Winds Field main office. Once submitted, auditions will go through a careful judging process. Final decisions will be made in March and a member of the South Bend Cubs staff will reach out to those who have been selected.

The South Bend Cubs open the 2020 season at Four Winds Field on April 9 against the Lake County Captains. Opening Night will feature a special presentation celebrating the 2019 Midwest League Championship. Additional details on the celebration will be released in the coming weeks.

OKC Dodgers and MidFirst Bank Present “Pack the Park Pink” T-shirt Design Contest

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Dodgers and MidFirst Bank are calling for submissions to design this season’s “Pack the Park Pink” T-shirt.

The 2020 “Pack the Park Pink” game to benefit Susan G. Komen Oklahoma and promote breast cancer awareness is scheduled for Friday, July 31, when the Dodgers face the Las Vegas Aviators.

The special limited-edition T-shirt will be gifted to all breast cancer survivors attending the game, and it will as be distributed to fans attending the game through the “Pack the Park Pink” group ticket package.

The template for T-shirt design submissions is now available to download at okcdodgers.com/pink. Each T-shirt design can feature two colors, one of which must be pink. There are no limits on the amount of submissions an individual can make, but all submissions must be received by April 3 by uploading them to okcdodgers.com/pink or via email to [email protected].

The winning design will be announced in June. The winner will receive four complimentary tickets to the “Pack the Park Pink” game and will be recognized during an on-field presentation.

“Pack the Park Pink” is an annual tradition between the Dodgers, MidFirst Bank and Susan G. Komen Oklahoma. Unique events will be held throughout the evening and “Pack the Park Pink” will culminate with a pink fireworks show following the game. More details regarding the game will be released in the future.

The Dodgers’ game-worn pink jerseys and hats, in addition to pink bats, breast cancer awareness baseballs and game-used bases will be auctioned off throughout the night to benefit Susan G. Komen Oklahoma. The mission of Susan G. Komen Oklahoma is “to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.”

A special “Pack the Park Pink” ticket package is currently available for purchase starting at $12 per person for groups of 10 or more and includes the new T-shirt and a pink Dodgers hat.

Registration Open for National Anthem Tryouts

DAYTON, OHIO – A traditional sign that baseball season is just around the corner in the Miami Valley is National Anthem Tryouts, presented by the Dayton Daily News. Tryouts for national anthem performers for the 2020 season will take place on Saturday, February 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mall at Fairfield Commons.

Finalists will perform the national anthem at Dragons games throughout the season, with the grand prize winner performing on Opening Day 2020 before the Dragons host the Great Lakes Loons on Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Pre-registration is now underway at www.daytondragons.com/nationalanthem. The first 200 entrants who pre-register for this event will receive a scheduled tryout time. In the event that all of the allotted spots are filled, you could still have a chance to perform at the tryouts on a stand-by basis.

To register as a stand-by performer, you must come to the Saturday, February 22 tryouts at the Mall at Fairfield Commons. You will receive a stand-by number that will be called when a spot becomes available. Standby performers are not guaranteed a chance to tryout so, interested performers are strongly encouraged to sign up at www.daytondragons.com/nationalanthem.

A panel of local citizens including media personalities, city officials, and community leaders will be judging the event. The panel will make its selections based on voice quality, creative style, stage presence, and appearance.

National Anthem Auditions Scheduled for Saturday, January 18

Bradenton, Fla. – The Pittsburgh Pirates will hold National Anthem auditions on Saturday, January 18 from 10:00 a.m.-12 p.m. at LECOM Park. Auditions are open to anyone interested in singing The Star Spangled Banner prior to a Pirates Spring Training game in 2020. Prospective singers must feel comfortable performing in front of audiences of 7,000 people or more.

Auditions will be conducted a cappella and must be no longer than two minutes in length. There is no preregistration for auditions. Prospective singers will perform in the order they sign up on the day of auditions. Registration will close at 11:30 a.m. National Anthem auditions will be conducted for vocalists only.

Pirates employees will supervise the auditions and determine which performers to invite to fill open spots in the Spring Training schedule. Contestants that wish to sing the Canadian National Anthem before the Pirates game against Toronto on March 1, March 9, or March 12 are welcome to audition singing O Canada as well. Participants that audition but are not selected to perform will have their information kept on file for potential anthem openings during the Bradenton Marauders season. The Marauders are preparing for the 11th season in franchise history, which runs from April 9 until Labor Day.

The Pirates will play a 16-game home schedule at LECOM Park this spring, beginning with a matchup against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday, February 22. Chihuahuas Cheer and Dance Classic Registration Now Open

EL PASO – January 6, 2020 – Leg Up Entertainment and Superior Festivals is proud to present the Chihuahuas Cheer and Dance Classic to be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Southwest University Park!

Teams from the southwest region are invited to participate! The dance competition is slated for 8:30 a.m. with the cheer portion scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

Registration closes on February 14, 2020 and payment deadline is February 21, 2020.

Registration fees are as follows:

DANCE (Groups and Solo):
$150 per team (seven or more)
$150 per ensemble
$150 per exhibition
$50 per solo routine

CHEER (Groups and Solo):
$150 per team
$50 per solo
$100 per exhibition

TIME LIMITS
Team or Rec – Rules & Restrictions
• Each team will perform a choreographed routine not to exceed 2 minutes and 30 seconds (150 seconds).
• Up to 90 seconds of the routine may be performed to music 60 seconds must equal cheer.
• No voice-overs or words may be recorded to make the team’s vocal projection sound louder.

All Star – Rules & Restrictions
• Each team will perform a choreographed routine not to exceed 2 minutes and 30 seconds (150 seconds).
• Music is required for all of the routine.
• A .5 penalty will be assessed if music is not used for the entire routine.

BEST CHEERLEADER – RULES & RESTRICTIONS
• Each participant will perform for a maximum of 90 seconds and in the following order: three consecutive jumps, tumbling pass, and a cheer.
• Music IS NOT allowed.
• A partner may not be used during the performance.
• Judging is based on voice projection, showmanship, cheer execution, spirit, and ability in the areas of jumps and tumbling, as well as overall impression.
• There will be a .5 penalty if more than five tricks are performed in your cheer and a separate penalty if the routine exceeds the time limit.

TOP STUNT – RULES & RESTRICTIONS
• Groups of no more than four (4) cheerleaders. May have only one (1) male per group.
• Participants must be 9-12th grade and must be from the same squad/school/gym.
• Groups will have no more than 45 seconds to perform their stunt sequence.
• Each group must have at least one (1) extended stunt from a full down.
• Group will be dged on difficulty, execution, overall technique, and overall performance.

OVERALL GENERAL RULES
• All teams will follow standard competition and safety guidelines as printed on the waiver form.
• To ensure the competition runs as efficiently as possible, no teams will be allowed to change their performance order. Additionally, there will be no division changes allowed after the registration deadline. No refunds will be given once a team is registered.
• Before the day of competition, all participants must complete the Release and Waiver Form. This MUST be signed by Parent or Legal Guardian for the participant to be able to perform. All Participant forms must be given to the Registration Table upon checking into the competition.

COMPETITION SPECTATORS
Friends and families are more than welcome to watch the cheer & dance competition. Tickets will be sold through the Southwest University Park Box Office and can be purchased before and on the day of competition. Advanced ticket purchase is suggested. Click here to purchase.

REFUND POLICY
A full refund will be made for any registered event up to the designated cancellation deadline. After the designated deadline, there will be no refund and arrangements for full payment will need to be made. If payment is not made by the designated deadline, responsible parties will need to arrange for payment ASAP.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations of any registered event must be made in writing to Superior Festivals by the designated registration deadline.

National Anthem tryouts held on Saturday, Dec. 14

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Open auditions to sing the National Anthem at New York Mets spring training home games and St. Lucie Mets home games for the 2020 season will be held on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Due to the renovation project at First Data Field, tryouts will take place on the backfields of the Minor League Complex & Rehabilitation Center located off Peacock Blvd.

The anthem can be sung or performed with instruments but must fit within a 90-second time frame. Auditions will be judged against the standard of the traditional performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Hartford, Conn- The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, has won the top community award from Minor League Baseball in 2019, the John Henry Moss Community Service Award. The award is given to the club which demonstrates an outstanding, ongoing commitment to charitable service, support and leadership. The Yard Goats were selected from a field of 160 minor league clubs across America and are the youngest franchise ever to win the award in just their third season at Dunkin’ Donuts Park. The John Henry Moss Award will be presented by Minor League Baseball in December at the 2019 Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego, California.

“When we were creating the Hartford Yard Goats brand, we spent a great deal of time talking about the kind of organization we wanted to be,” Yard Goats team owner Josh Solomon said. “We wanted our actions and our commitment to community to be so demonstrative that people associated us as much with our philanthropy as our baseball. Our community programs are vital to the Yard Goats organization, and we feel that it is our job to welcome in our neighbors and connect them with professionals who offer training, career, and higher education opportunities so they can reach their goals.”

The Yard Goats established the “Aetna Community Center” at Dunkin’ Donuts Park as a base for several youth community programs sponsored by the Yard Goats. These programs include the Young Ambassadors Program, Youth Performing Arts Program, Youth Culinary Arts Program, Fitness Program, and Dance Team.

The Yard Goats open the 2020 season on April 9th (7:10 PM) against the Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs. Yard Goats season tickets are available by calling 860-246-GOAT (4628), or in person by visiting the Click It or Ticket Box Office at Dunkin’ Donuts Park.

Just Announced: Nightmare at the Ballpark

In partnership with the Big Sky High School Drama Department, the Missoula Osprey have announced their first ever Nightmare at the Ballpark. The series of SPOOKTACULAR events will be held from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on October 18, 19, 25, 26, 30 and 31.

For just $10 a ticket, guests will be invited to tour the transformed Ogren Park Allegiance Field Clubhouses and experience 10 scenes that will be sure to leave you feeling haunted!

Along side Missoula Osprey staff, the BSHS Drama Department will play an integral part in set design, creativity, and will participate as actors in the Haunted House’s scenes. Through this partnership, the Missoula Osprey will donate $5,000 to the BSHS Drama Department, so be sure to come early and often to support these kids and all of their hard work.

Keys Win Matt Minker Community Service Award

FREDERICK, MD -The Frederick Keys are excited to announce that they have been named the winner of the Carolina League’s Matt Minker Community Service Award. This award is given out to the team that best demonstrates an outstanding, on-going commitment to charitable service, support and leadership within its community.

It marks the first time that the Keys have received this award as an organization after the Minker Award became a team honor in 2014. When it was an individual award, Jacob Julius brought home the honor in 2013.

“We are thrilled to be recognized with the Minker award,” said Keys Director of Marketing Erin Lawson. “Building long-lasting community partnerships is a hallmark of Frederick Keys baseball. We look forward to expanding our footprint throughout Frederick County and beyond in the years to come through community programs, donations, appearances and other initiatives.

The Keys were recognized for their efforts in 2019 thanks in large part to charitable giving, donations and strong community programs. Over the last year, the Keys have donated more than $10,000 through the team’s charitable foundation-Frederick Keys Care. Beneficiaries included the YMCA, Heartly House, Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP), Advocates for Homeless Families, Blessings in a Backpack and Sophie and Madigan’s Playground. Over the last three years, close to $50,000 has been raised for Keys Care through the team’s Charity Golf Classic, Mystery Ball, 50/50 raffles and more.

In 2019, the Keys made donations to over 500 different organizations. These included game tickets, suites, marketing booths, jerseys, hats and autographed memorabilia. Combined, these donations were valued at just over $47,000. The Keys also hosted a Toys for Tots Drive and worked with Orioles Advocates on the Cardboard 2 Leather Program as well as the United Way’s Stuff the Bus program. To go with this, non-profit groups raised $14,500 through the Keys Pack the Park program and over $30,000 through the Charity Concession Program.

Strong community programs remained a staple of Keys baseball in 2019, with the Keys distributing 58,000 summer reading bookmarks to libraries in seven counties. Students who completed their library’s summer reading program could then come to a Keys game. Young fans were honored for their scholastic achievements through the team’s Report Card Program and were challenged to be active for 60 minutes a day leading up to Family Fitness Weekend.

The Keys worked hand-in-hand with non-profit groups during the United Way’s annual Day of Action, Make a Difference Thursday and hosted several charity softball games to raise money for the Police Activities League and for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Specific games also raised awareness for the American Cancer Society, Heartly House and the Frederick Arts Council. These games also involved the team wearing a special hat or jersey which raised money for each organization.

Keys players were active in the community this year, attending over 80 events in the Frederick community and surrounding areas along with Keys mascot Keyote. Keys players participated in a pre-game softball game with Challenger Little League, made sign language videos with students from the Maryland School of the Deaf and served as camp counselors for the team’s baseball camp. Individually, Cameron Bishop was named the winner of the Orioles prestigious Elrod Hendricks Minor League Community Service Award.

Local Kids & Las Madrinas Guild Help Raise Money for Valley Children’s Hospital

VISALIA, CA – The Visalia Rawhide partnered with Valley Children’s and Las Madrinas Guild to raise money through a jersey auction. In February, the Rawhide announced its first-ever design-a-jersey contest for children 16 and under. Two children, Kaylee Munyon (9) and Pete Lopez (13), received the most fan-votes for their separate designs. It was determined by the selection committee to combine their jersey designs into one cohesive piece.

Munyon, who is a patient at Valley Children’s, designed the front of the jersey using Photoshop. Lopez had designed the back of the jersey. On Sunday, the Rawhide auctioned the game-worn jerseys to fans. Las Madrinas Guild will receive all $2,000 of proceeds from the jersey auction, which will be given to Valley Children’s.

Valley Children has been recognized two years in a row by U.S. News and World Report as one of the “Best Children’s Hospitals” and is planning to build a Visalia hospital location in the near future.

Las Madrinas (translation: The Godmothers) Guild assisted with this fundraiser. Las Madrinas Guild is one of the 13 original guilds formed to support Valley Children’s Hospital.
