OKC Dodgers to “Pack the Park Pink” with MidFirst Bank Friday

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Dodgers players and coaches will wear special pink jerseys and hats that will be auctioned off to benefit Susan G. Komen Oklahoma as the Dodgers and MidFirst Bank team up to “Pack the Park Pink” Friday night.

The Dodgers will take the field at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark at 7:05 p.m. Friday against the Las Vegas Aviators and fans can bid on their game-worn pink jerseys and hats via the DASH Auction app, which is available for free via the App Store and Google Play Store.

Unique events to promote breast cancer awareness will be held throughout the evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark and “Pack the Park Pink” will culminate with a pink fireworks show following the game, presented by MidFirst Bank.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of the cause and representatives from Susan G. Komen Oklahoma will be on the concourse throughout the night to provide information about the organization. The mission of Susan G. Komen Oklahoma is “to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.”

Oklahoma City-area breast cancer survivors will take the field pregame during the announcement of the starting lineup, sing the national anthem and deliver a ceremonial first pitch. A unique and fun photo opportunity featuring a balloon arch, backdrop and light-up “OKC” marquee letters will be on display on the concourse for fans to use throughout the game. A breast cancer awareness quiz in Friday night’s digital PlayBall! game program can be completed and redeemed for an exclusive OKC Dodgers color-changing cup.

The OKC Dodgers return home to open a 12-game homestand as well as a six-game home series against the Las Vegas Aviators at 7:05 p.m. Thursday. The series then continues with Friday night’s “Pack the Park Pink” game.

Saturday’s 7:05 p.m. game between the team falls on Marvel Super Hero Night, and Star-Lord and Black Widow will make special appearances throughout the game. Kids can run the bases following Sunday’s 6:05 p.m. game. The series against Las Vegas wraps up with 7:05 p.m. games Monday and on a $2 Tuesday, featuring $2 select beer, soda and bottled water from a line of Budweiser and Pepsi products. COOP Ale Works draft beer will also be available at a special rate of $3 Tuesday. The OKC Dodgers then remain home for a six-game series against the Albuquerque Isotopes Thursday, Sept. 2 – Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Drive to Host Mobility Night August 26

The Greenville Drive are excited to host the first-ever Upstate Mobility Night August 26 at Fluor Field. Gates open at 6 PM while first pitch is at 7:05 against the Hickory Crawdads.

Teaming up with the Drive for the event is the Upstate Mobility Alliance. They will have booths on display throughout the concourse to show the future of electric vehicles, bikes, buses and charging stations.

There will also be t-shirt and water bottle giveaways throughout the evening.

Dash Announce Hometown Heroes USA Celebration

The Winston-Salem Dash are teaming up with Salem One for a Hometown Heroes USA event at Truist Stadium on Saturday, September 11 to honor all service members and first responders (active and retired). The Dash will take on the Bowling Green Hot Rods, an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, at 6:00 p.m.

Service members and first responders (and one guest) can take advantage of a special $5 offer that includes their game ticket and a voucher for a hot dog, chips, and a Pepsi product. Additional tickets that include the food and beverage voucher can be purchased for $16. The first 500 service members and first responders to purchase tickets will be eligible to receive a free pair of OnCloud athletic shoes at the game, courtesy of Veterans Service of the Carolinas. Fans should register for shoes when purchasing their tickets, and the shoes generally run a half size small. All tickets through this offer must be reserved by Wednesday, September 1.

Margaritaville Night, Healthcare Heroes headline final six of ‘Tugas homestand

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Tortugas continue their two-week homestand at Jackie Robinson Ballpark with more fun and excitement over six games against the Palm Beach Cardinals, Low-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, on Tuesday, August 17. Among the highlights are a Thirsty Thursday, Margaritaville Night on Saturday, and a First Responders and Healthcare Heroe Appreciation Night on Friday.

The Tortugas open up the set on Tuesday, August 17, with a Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Radiology Associates Imaging. Daytona players and coaches will don special pink-tinted uniforms to mark the occasion, as the organization looks to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Silver Sluggers Night — the best club in baseball for fans 60-and-over — presented by Conviva Cares Solutions will also be a part of the festivities. As a part of Silver Sluggers Night, fans can enjoy Michelob Ultra drafts for $2.50. The first pitch of that night and all weekday games are set for 7:05 p.m. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

Charity remains a focal point for the organization with a Wishful Wednesday presented by VyStar Credit Union on August 18. The Tortugas partner with a local non-profit organization to swell up donations and awareness for a worthy cause. Starting at just $14, patrons will be able to enjoy all-you-can-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, and popcorn thanks to a Belly Buster Wednesday presented by Marco’s Pizza. The biggest party in Central Florida returns to the oldest ballpark in Minor League Baseball on August 19 courtesy of a Thirsty Thursday presented by Bud Light. All those in attendance can beat the heat with fountain drinks and draft beers starting at as low as $1.

We recognize the selflessness of those who have aided others during the pandemic as a part of our First Responders and Healthcare Heroes Appreciation Night on Friday, August 20. It will be another Friday Night Happy Hour presented by Ormond Brewing Company and Cutwater Spirits. Fans will be able to enjoy free tastings of a selection of Ormond Brewing draft beers and Cutwater Spirits from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Additionally, patrons will be able to enjoy Ormond Brewing Company draft beers and Cutwater Spirits at a reduced price at all our beer stands throughout the evening.

The clock will be frozen at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, as the Tortugas host their annual Margaritaville Night bash. The Tortugas get dressed up in their Sunday best to close out the homestand on Sunday, August 22. The Best Dressed Team in Baseball series squeezes into Sunday, as Daytona players and coaches will don special tuxedo-themed uniforms. It will also be a Bark in the Park and Tiny ‘Tugas Night. For just $2, fans can purchase a “pooch pass” so their four-legged friend can enjoy a nine-inning vacation, as well. Additionally, there will be activities for all Tiny ‘Tugas members who come out to the ballpark, including Running the Bases after the game. It will also be the Tortugas’ Yappy Hours with 16 oz. Springfield Cardinals specialty ‘City Jersey’ announced for August 20-21 at Hammons Field

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Cardinals are excited to announce the team’s first City Jersey, featuring the Springfield Identity Project/Springfield Flag Movement flag design. These brand new specialty uniforms will be worn by the Cardinals at Hammons Field on Friday, August 20 and Saturday, August 21, and will bring the Cardinals closer to the city we love than ever before.

While the specialty jersey and jersey auction have been scheduled for several months, it happens to coincide with the City of Springfield gathering public input on a potential new flag. Citizens can visit https://flag.questionpro.com/ to comment and/or submit flag designs through August 18.

Combining the unmistakable Cardinals identity on the chest and sleeves with the design of the proposed new flag itself, the white stripe on the uniform represents both the Ozark Plateau on which Springfield rests as well as the world-famous Route 66, which was born here in Springfield. The three stars represented Innovative Spirit, Connection with Nature and Ozarks Culture. The “Compass Crown” combines two core elements of our city’s identity, with the compass representing our role as a crossroads to the nation and the crown paying homage to our over century-old moniker as the “Queen City of the Ozarks.” On either side of the crown and perched on the white stripe are a pair of inward facing Cardinals. The jersey’s left sleeve features a single Bird-on-the-Bat with the Springfield script. The right sleeve features the interlocking “SGF,” first introduced in 2019 on a limited-release off-field cap. This will be the debut of the interlocking “SGF” logo on a uniform.

The jerseys will be auctioned off on the LiveSource App and Livesourceapp.com beginning when gates open on Friday, August 20 and ending at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21. Proceeds will benefit the Sertoma Club of Springfield—a non-profit organization chartered in 1941 whose primary focus is to raise money for children charities in our local area.

Friday, August 20 is the Mercy Crossbody Purse Giveaway for 2,000 fans and Girl Power Friday Fireworks. Gates open at 6:05 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. when the Cardinals face the Wichita Wind Surge (AA, Twins).

Dragons to Recognize “Community All-Stars” Recipient During Game on August 17

*Dayton, Ohio *— The Dayton Dragons will recognize The Hope Center for Families as a “Community All-Stars” recipient during a special inning break of the Dragons game on Tuesday, August 17 against the Lake County Captains at Day Air Ballpark. The game will start at 7:05 p.m. In addition, half of the 50/50 proceeds will be donated to The Hope Center for Families.

The Dragons Community All-Stars Program honors individuals who have gone above and beyond to improve the quality of life in the Miami Valley. They could be firefighters or police officers, doctors or good Samaritans. It could be a first responder or a volunteer. The Dragons are going to highlight these Community All-Stars at games all summer long.

More than half of children in the City of Dayton live below the poverty level. The statistics show that when those children grow up, they are likely to continue the poverty cycle to their children as well. The “poverty cycle” often persists across multiple generations unless that cycle is interrupted through outside intervention.

The Hope Center for Families was developed to interfere with the poverty cycle in Northwest Dayton, giving families the support and hope needed to grow and advance into sustainable living wages.

The Hope Center for Families is an initiative by the Omega Community Development Corporation that focuses on the two-generation model – a model that targets low-income children and their parents simultaneously. The center will focus on the three main factors that aid in the reduction of poverty through workforce, health, and educational development.

Mini University, Sinclair Community College, and Dayton Children’s Hospital will have a significant presence within the Hope Center. Mini University will operate an early learning program within the center. Sinclair Community College will offer certificate programs for adults to further their education, allowing them to gain higher wages. Dayton Children’s Hospital will aid in childcare.

The Center plans to start transforming the lives of the people of Northwest Dayton as soon as the door open in Fall 2021.

Vanessa Ward, Omega Community Development Corporation president, said her dream once the center is open would be that when people walk in, they will be greeted by people that care.

Penultimate Homestand Includes Military Appreciation and Opera Night

The Charleston RiverDogs continue to own the best record in the Low-A East and return to The Joe for their penultimate homestand of 2021 to battle the Columbia Fireflies next week. The series, which runs from August 17-22, will consist of seven games in six days. The RiverDogs will take a big step toward clinching a berth in the postseason with a successful series on the field.

The homestand includes plenty of reasons for fans to be excited. On Wednesday, the RiverDogs meet the Fireflies in a doubleheader on Pride Night where the team will wear Charleston Rainbows uniforms in the nightcap. Friday features our third Military Appreciation Night of the season, as well as Opera Night. The team will close out the homestand by taking on their Perros Santos identity for the final two games of the series on Saturday and Sunday. Here is the full lineup:

Tuesday, August 17, 7:05 p.m.: Dog Day: There are only two more chances to enjoy a ballgame with man’s best friend this season. Bring the pup along to the ballpark for each and every Island Coastal Lager Dog Day, when we encourage you to #TakeItEasy. This week’s featured breed will be the French Bulldog! We’ll throw it back to a previous era in Charleston baseball history and play as the Charleston Rainbows. That’s right, you can grab a $1 beer (or two) no matter where you are in the ballpark. Don’t forget, DJ Natty Heavy will be dropping beats on the Ashley View Pub. Friday, August 20, 7:05 p.m.: Military Appreciation Night/Opera Night/Red Shirt Friday/Post-Game Fireworks: On this night, we will celebrate the classical music tradition of opera with themed games, trivia and a t-shirt toss alongside the Holy City Arts and Lyric Opera. The RiverDogs will also open the weekend with a gigantic tribute to military members on Boeing Red Shirt Friday. Members of the military will receive free tickets to the game. Retired and active military members can call the RiverDogs box office to receive the discount code. The team will make their new inductions into the Hall of Honor prior to the game. Once again, on the final day of the work week, the RiverDogs and Boeing invite you to wear red in support of those who serve our country. Along with MUSC Health and Berkeley Electric Cooperative, we’ll celebrate the local Latin American culture with special uniforms, music courtesy of DJ Luigi and Spanish public address announcements. Our opponents, the Columbia Fireflies, will join in on the fun, playing as Chicharrones de Columbia. Following the game, stick around for a post-game light show featuring our LED lights at The Joe. Saturdays are presented by ABCNews4 and MyTV Charleston.

Sunday, August 22, 5:05 p.m.: Perros Santos Weekend/Family Sunday/Jewish Heritage Night/Strike Out Stigma Night: The RiverDogs will spend the weekend suiting up as Los Perros Santos de Charleston as part of Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la Diversión initiative. Along with MUSC Health and Berkeley Electric Cooperative, we’ll celebrate the local Latin American culture with special uniforms, music courtesy of DJ Luigi and Spanish public address announcements. Our opponents, the Columbia Fireflies, will join in on the fun, playing as Chicharrones de Columbia. In addition, we are partnering with the Charleston Jewish Federation for Jewish Heritage Night. It’s also Strike Out Stigma Night with information and resources available on mental illness and substance abuse. Parking is free and kids will be invited to run the bases following the game! This Sunday’s game is presented by Star 99.7.

Bats Team Up With Humana, UPS & LSC For “Playing It Forward” Item Drive

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville Bats have partnered with Humana, Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) and UPS to host an item drive for the “Playing it Forward” initiative during Thursday’s (Aug. 12) game against the Nashville Sounds (Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers) at 6:30 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. Fans who donate new or gently-used youth sports equipment will receive a voucher for a FREE hot dog and Pepsi product to be used during Thursday’s Bats game.

Donations can be made at any of the four gates to Louisville Slugger Field upon entrance to the ballpark Thursday. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Playing It Forward initiative is designed to provide new or gently-used youth baseball or softball equipment to low-and moderate-income families, with the goal of eliminating the cost of equipment as a potential barrier to participation in organized sports.

The Bats, Humana and LSC also previously teamed up in April for the first item drive of the 2021 season. Fans generously donated sports equipment during the Bats’ Open House event and were treated to an intrasquad scrimmage between members of the Cincinnati Reds’ Alternate Training Site team at Louisville Slugger Field.

Dash to Host Fill the Stands with Cans Night

The Winston-Salem Dash, in partnership with the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association (PTAA) and WXII will host the eleventh annual Fill the Stands with Cans Night as the Dash take on the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Saturday, August 14th at Truist Stadium.

This event benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, an organization whose mission is to eliminate food waste and eradicate hunger throughout the Carolinas. Fans are encouraged to lend a helping hand by donating non-perishable food items or cash, both of which will be collected by volunteers stationed around the stadium on Saturday.

According to Jon Lowder, Executive Director of the PTAA, the Fill the Stands with Cans campaign has given the organization’s annual food drive a tremendous boost over the last few years. Second Harvest can provide seven meals for every $1 raised, so every dollar donated makes a big impact. Food donations are equally important, as they can be effective immediately.

As a thank you from the Dash and the PTAA for helping support Second Harvest, any fan who brings a non-perishable food item or cash donation to Saturday’s game will receive a ticket voucher that can be redeemed for any remaining 2021 Dash home game, excluding Saturday night’s game. Vouchers can be redeemed at the PTI Box Office, which is open leading up to all home games and from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on non-gamedays.

Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. for Saturday’s 6:00 p.m. game against the Grasshoppers. ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Express are proud to partner with We Are Blood to host a blood donation drive inside the United Heritage Center at Dell Diamond from 9:00 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, August 12. Appointments are required in order to give blood at Dell Diamond and are available at WeAreBlood.org.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Round Rock Express and their support for Central Texas’ community blood supply,” We Are Blood Vice President of Community Engagement Nick Canedo said. “Every donation made at We Are Blood’s blood drive at Dell Diamond will make a lifesaving difference for a local patient in need at a Central Texas hospital.”

We Are Blood is the exclusive supplier of blood donations for over 40 hospitals and clinics across 10 counties in Central Texas, including all St. David’s HealthCare locations. Blood donations are needed every summer as donations dip due to schools being out of session and individuals becoming busy with vacation and family commitments.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, community blood supply has been at critically low levels due to less blood drives hosted in local communities. The Round Rock Express previously partnered with Brown Distributing and We Are Blood to host a sold-out blood donation drive at Dell Diamond in May of 2020. Together, over 80 donations were made totaling nearly 70 units of blood, a significant boost to the community’s blood supply.

“We are always honored to partner with great organizations like We Are Blood to open the gates of Dell Diamond and serve our community,” Round Rock Express President Chris Almendarez said. “We showed during the peak of the pandemic just what a difference this community can make in the lives of others and we are excited to make another meaningful impact at our next blood drive this Thursday.”

We Are Blood is requesting that all donors wear face coverings while visiting We Are Blood donor centers, including the mobile drive at Dell Diamond. WooSox to Host “Peanut Allergy-Friendly Nights” for both Tuesday Games in August at Polar Park

and the New York Yankees’ affiliate in a twin bill August 17.

WORCESTER, MA – Addressing the desires of many families in Central Massachusetts, the Worcester Red Sox will present “Peanut Allergy-Friendly Nights” at Polar Park on Tuesday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 17. The club hopes to create a more comfortable opportunity for fans with peanut allergies to attend WooSox games at Polar Park.

Because the 2021 baseball schedule provides off days on Mondays, the WooSox are able to do a deep cleaning of the seating bowl, the concourses, and the DCU Level on the Mondays prior to each Peanut Allergy-Friendly Night. On each of those nights, the sale or consumption of peanut products will not be allowed.

The WooSox play the Syracuse Mets at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, and they play two games against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders starting at 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17. The Mets are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, and the RailRiders are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The August 17 date is a resumption of a game suspended on July 17 and again on July 18, due to rain at Polar Park. The 9-inning game will resume in the top of the 6th inning with no score. It will be followed by the regularly-scheduled 9-inning game.

“We have attended Major League Baseball meetings and seminars that have heightened our awareness and enlightened us about the plight of families who need to be so cautious of peanuts and related allergens,” said WooSox Vice President of Marketing Brooke Cooper. “We were truly touched by how many families seek to come to baseball games if only they can be assured that the ballpark will be friendly to those with this serious allergy. LP Frans Stadium to Host Disability Dream & Do Camp

HICKORY, NC – Six local Rotary Clubs, with the generous support of the Hickory Crawdads and their parent club, the Texas Rangers, are offering a Dave Clark Disability Dream & Do (D3Day) Baseball Camp to children and young adults with varying disabilities along with their families and caregivers on Saturday, August 28th at LP Frans Stadium. The camp will run approximately from 10am-12pm.

The camp is a professional style baseball camp and will be staffed by numerous volunteers from the Crawdads, the Rotary Clubs, and the baseball teams from Lenoir-Rhyne University and Catawba Valley Community College.

The camp is free to participants. Pre-registration is required at www.D3Day.com. Interested families should select “events” on the website; then click on the Crawdads logo. A tab for participant registration is on the left-hand menu. All participants will receive a free t-shirt and cap, and lunch will be provided. Volunteers may also pre-register by selecting the volunteer registration tab on the same menu.

“The Crawdads organization is about making life-long memories and we can’t wait to be a part of the Disability Dream and Do Camp and help do just that for the participants and their families,” Crawdads General Manager Douglas Locascio said.

The Rotary project has been titled “The 100 Years of Rotary Disability Camp” to celebrate 100 years of Rotary service to local communities. According to Kelly Farr, president of the Rotary Club of Hickory, it is a demonstration of how Rotary does good in the world.

“Rotary is a huge international organization, and our local clubs support a number of worldwide projects but we especially value service to the local communities,” Farr said. “This project allows six clubs to join hands and offer something very special to the often underserved and forgotten population of wonderful disabled children.”

D3Day sports camps were created by Dave Clark, the only pitcher in professional baseball history to pitch on crutches, and Doug Cornfield, a medal winning runner at Georgia, who himself has a son born without arms. The Crawdads’ camp will also feature Emmy award-winning ESPN analyst Dave Stevens who was born without legs but played college football and hockey as well as professional baseball.

The Dave Clark camps allow children with any disability to interact with college and professional athletes in various drills and compete in sports with no limitations. There will be various stations to learn baseball skills and a “high five game.” The event will conclude with an award ceremony for participants.

Check-in for the camp will begin at 9:45am and will wrap up with lunch at noon.

Fireworks, Salute to Service highlight start to ‘Tugas two-week homestand

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Tortugas return to their nest at Jackie Robinson Ballpark for a fun and exciting first six games of a 12-game homestand starting against the Jupiter Hammerheads, Low-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, on Tuesday, August 10. Among the highlights are a Postgame Fireworks show and the annual Salute to Service Night on Friday in addition to a Thirsty Thursday and a Copa de la Diversión celebration on Saturday.

The Tortugas open up the set on Tuesday, August 10, with a Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Radiology Associates Imaging. Daytona players and coaches will don special pink-tinted uniforms to mark the occasion, as the organization looks to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Silver Sluggers Night — the best club in baseball for fans 60-and-over — presented by Conviva Cares Solutions will also be a part of the festivities. As a part of Silver Sluggers Night, fans can enjoy Michelob Ultra drafts for $2.50. The first pitch of that night and all weekday games are set for 7:05 p.m. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

Charity remains a focal point for the organization with a Wishful Wednesday presented by VyStar Credit Union on August 11. The Tortugas partner with a local non-profit organization to swell up donations and awareness for a worthy cause. Starting at just $14, patrons will be able to enjoy all-you-can-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, and popcorn thanks to a Belly Buster Wednesday presented by Marco’s Pizza. Courtesy of Landshark, souvenir cup holders will also be able to enjoy refills at concession stands for just $3.

The biggest party in Central Florida returns to the oldest ballpark in Minor League Baseball on August 12 courtesy of a Thirsty Thursday presented by Bud Light. All those in attendance can beat the heat with fountain drinks and draft beers starting at as low as $1.

We pay homage to the brave men and women that have selflessly risked their lives to protect our country and way of life on Friday, August 13, with the Tortugas’ annual Salute to Service Night. All those in attendance with a valid military ID will be able to receive tickets at a discounted price in addition to food vouchers to the concession stands. It will be another Friday Night Happy Hour presented by Wicked Weed Brewing on July 30. Fans will be able to enjoy free tastings of a selection of Wicked Weed Brewing draft beers from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Additionally, patrons will be able to enjoy Wicked Weed Brewing draft beers at a reduced price at all our beer stands throughout the evening. Following the final out, fans are encouraged to stick around for another fabulous Postgame Fireworks show.

Daytona continues its monthly Copa de la Diversión celebration on Saturday, August 14. Tortugas players and coaches will wear specially branded uniforms and caps to honor Hispanic heritage, while fans in attendance will be able to enjoy various interactive on-field promotions and activities throughout the night.

The first six games of the homestand wrap up on Sunday, August 15, with a Bark in the Park and Tiny ‘Tugas Night. For just $2, fans can purchase a “pooch pass” so their four-legged friend can enjoy a nine-inning vacation, as well. Additionally, there will be activities for all Tiny ‘Tugas members who come out to the ballpark. It will also be the Tortugas’ Yappy Hours with 16 oz. Bud Light Seltzer and Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer cans on sale for $4. The series finale gets underway at 5:35 p.m.and gates open at 4:30 p.m.

Greenville to Host Blood Drive Saturday, August 29

The Greenville Drive is proud to partner with the Blood Connection for another blood drive Sunday, August 29 at The Front Porch at Fluor Field, located at the corner of Field Street and Markley Street.

The blood drive lasts from 11 AM – 4 PM.

Bisons offer Frontline Healthcare Workers 2 FREE TICKETS to Home Opening Weekend, Aug. 14-15

The return of the Bisons to Sahlen Field isn’t the final step in our region’s battle against the coronavirus, but it’s one that could only be made thanks to the tireless efforts and dedication of our Frontline Healthcare Workers. As a way to show our gratitude, the Bisons are holding Frontline Healthcare Worker Appreciation Weekend during the team’s Home Opening Weekend; Saturday, August 14 (1:05 p.m.) and Sunday, August 15 (1:05 p.m.) against the Rochester Red Wings.

At either game, August 14 or August 15, any healthcare worker who worked on the frontlines of the COVID-19 battle can receive TWO FREE GAME TICKETS by showing their employee ID at the Sahlen Field Box Office (must claim complimentary tickets on the day of the game).

During each game, the Bisons will also honor all healthcare workers who attend with special crowd recognitions, giving the Bisons staff, the players and the fans in attendance an opportunity to show their appreciation for all that they have done. There will also be a ceremonial first pitches before each game from a member of the hard-working, dedicated staffs of Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Erie County Medical Center and Kaleida Health (to be announced).

“There are many individuals who have worked and sacrificed in an effort to get us out of this pandemic, but none are as vital as the passionate and dedicated frontline healthcare workers throughout the region and around the world,” said Anthony Sprague, General Manager of the Buffalo Bisons. “From the early, scary days of COVID-19 to the constant struggle to adapt and stay ahead of the virus, these are the heroes that are battling each day to comfort, to heal and to get our communities back on their feet. For that, we will forever be grateful.”
