Girl Scout Day is Sunday at Fluor Field

The Drive’s homestand against the Augusta GreenJackets concludes with Girl Scouts Day on Sunday at 4:05 PM.

The Drive are excited to team up with the Girl Scouts of South Carolina Mountains to Midlands for another day of celebration. Girl Scouts will participate in a pregame parade around Fluor Field, and when the gates open, there will be an on-field bridging ceremony in which Girl Scouts receive a commemorative patch from this special day.

During the game, Girl Scouts will take part in the Education Adventure Challenge that teaches the importance of healthy living by combining Scout practices with the game of baseball.

Pulaski Yankees bring back Free Youth Outings Program for 2018 season

Pulaski, Va. – The Pulaski Yankees are excited to announce they will once again offer free admission to area youth groups during the 2018 season as part of the Calfee Park Free Youth Outings Program presented by Virginia529 and Shelor Motor Mile Growing the Future.

The program is open to all area youth groups, including sports teams, church groups, school groups, Boy and Girl Scouts, and child care centers. Each child in the group will receive one (1) free General Admission (GA) ticket. Youth group leaders accompanying the group will also receive one (1) free GA ticket. Parents, guardians, and other family members may join the group by purchasing GA tickets at a discounted rate of $5 per ticket.

“The youth in our community are an important part of Calfee Park,” said Pulaski Yankees General Manager Christina Edney. “We are grateful for our partners who help make this program possible, ensuring every child has the opportunity to enjoy a safe, fun, family-friendly event during the summer.”

Last year the Yankees distributed nearly 3,000 tickets through the free youth outings program, which has been in place since the 2015 season.

All youth group outings through the Calfee Park Free Youth Outings Program presented by Virginia529 and Shelor Motor Mile Growing the Future must be booked in advance. The Pulaski Yankees open the 2018 season on the road with a three-game series against the Danville Braves June 19-21. Individual game tickets will go on sale later this spring.

BlueClaws Charities Hands Out Grants to 40 Community Partner Organizations

BlueClaws Charities completed their grant program, handing out grants to its Community Partner organizations.

LAKEWOOD, NJ – BlueClaws Charities, the official 501c3 non-profit organization of the Lakewood BlueClaws, completed its 2017 grant program, handing out grants to 40 Community Partner organizations.

All Community Partners applied for and received a grant from BlueClaws Charities this year. Each applicant was asked to detail a specific use for the grant, with the requirement that all money received from BlueClaws Charities stays in Ocean & Monmouth Counties. A complete list can be found below.

“BlueClaws Charities is proud to be able to support such a wide-variety of organizations in our communities,” said Jim DeAngelis, the BlueClaws Vice President of Community Relations and Executive Director of BlueClaws Charities. “These organizations have pledged to keep all funds in Ocean & Monmouth Counties and they are doing spectacular work to assist the underserved. It is our pleasure to be able to lend financial support.”

BlueClaws Charities raises money throughout the year through special events like the Nine & Dine Golf Outing and Phillies Winter Banquet, through jersey and other specialty merchandise auctions, and a 50/50 raffle at each BlueClaws home game.

“Our fans and donors have been tremendously supportive of BlueClaws Charities over the years, and this year was no exception,” said DeAngelis. “We look forward to another successful season in 2018!”

The following organizations received a grant from BlueClaws Charities.

  • ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia to subsidize their Chapters Care Services Program for ALS patient families in Ocean & Monmouth Counties.
  • Alzheimer’s Association of Greater New Jersey to offset costs for a fundraising event to benefit New Jersey residents.
  • The Arc, Ocean County Chapter to subsidize costs associated with their major fundraising event, The Arc Walkathon.
  • The Ashley Lauren Foundation to assist children with cancer and their families through direct financial assistance.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County to provide group mentoring activities which enables children on their waiting list to become involved with the agency.
  • Boy Scouts of America, Jersey Shore Council to provide program support for their ScoutReach Cub Scout Pack at Clifton Elementary School in Lakewood.
  • Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey to help defray costs of criminal background checks on volunteers prior to assignments.
  • Cheer Dream Xplosion Foundation to purchase equipment for their special needs program.
  • Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation to improve the quality of life of those affected by the disease in Ocean & Monmouth Counties.
  • Daniela’s Wish to grant wishes to ill children in their communities.
  • David’s Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation to support families in Ocean & Monmouth counties affected by a cancer diagnosis.
  • Dottie’s House to help funding their transitional housing program designed to provide survivors of domestic violence with tools, guidance and support to achieve financial and emotional independence.
  • Easter Seals New Jersey to provide individuals with disabilities and special needs the training and skills needed to independently work within their communities.
  • Emiliana’s Hope to spread cheer to pediatric cancer patients in the area.
  • Exit 82 Theatre Company to help fund their 2018 production season.
  • Family Options Adoptions to provide funding for birth parent scholarships and supplies for birth mothers that decide to parent.
  • Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore to help offer over 200 underserved girls from Lakewood the opportunity to attend the Girls Are Great summer day camp.
  • Go4TheGoal to help kids with cancer achieve their goals.
  • HABcore to help fund the supportive services program component of HABcore’s Rapid Re-Housing program in Ocean County.
  • Holiday Express to help provide a unique interactive holiday musical program, led by volunteer professionals, to individuals who are often forgotten by society and in need of kindness.
  • JAR of Hope to help fund research to eliminate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
  • Kids Need More to enhance the lives of children, families, and young adults coping with cancer and life threatening illness.
  • LADACIN Network to support their integrated Child Care program to empower children with and without disabilities to work together to succeed in their future education.
  • Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Fund to assist the organization in its mission to aid wounded warriors and their families.
  • Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanities for repairs for the 21 Easter Seals group homes.
  • Ocean County Family Support Organization to help offset the costs of trips for our Youth Partnership program.
  • Ocean County Shrine Club to support the hospital’s MAGEC System, an adjustable magnetic growing rod used in a non-invasive, non-surgical manner to brace a child’s spine during childhood growth to minimize the progression of scoliosis.
  • Ocean County YMCA to help kids, families, and seniors in the community find assets in YMCA programs and memberships regardless of incomes and backgrounds.
  • Ocean’s Harbor House to provide for the fundamentals of setting up a household after youth graduate from the Transitional Living Program.
  • Ocean Partnership for Children to provide needy children and teens served by Ocean Partnership with winter attire, including hats, coats, boots, mittens, and gloves.
  • Piece of the Puzzle to purchase a computer desk and stool for their offices.
  • Parents of Autistic Children to provide a challenger sports league designed to offer a socialization opportunity through athletic participation between disabled students from different high school and middle schools in Ocean & Monmouth Counties.
  • Raising Hope for Others to assist with financial cost of organizing and running its major fundraiser.
  • RJM Sportsgroup to provide scholarships to Jackson Township graduates.
  • Saint Vincent DePaul Society to help pay for temporary sheltering for the homeless.
  • The Salvation Army of Ocean County to provide funding to their Feeding Program.
  • The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide to help their Youth Council seeking to engage ambassadors in the prevention process.
  • The TEARS Foundation to provide assistance to families who have lost a child due to pregnancy or sustained the sudden loss of an infant or child in Monmouth & Ocean Counties.
  • Tom Giannattasio Jr. Memorial Fund to provide a scholarship to graduating seniors.
  • United Way of Monmouth & Ocean Counties to purchase warm clothing for lower income children.

BlueClaws Charities, in addition to the grant program, supports hundreds of non-profit organizations with gift package donations, golf outing hole-in-one sponsorships, and specialty organizations such as OCEAN, Inc., a federal program that assists the less fortunate in the community. The “Tickets for Kids Program,” another BlueClaws Charities initiative, donates over 2,000 tickets to under-served youths in Lakewood and elsewhere in Ocean County.

Community Partners raise money through a BlueClaws fundraiser outing and have the opportunity to volunteer in the FirstEnergy Park concession stands to raise additional funds. These organizations also receive exposure through on-field presentations, table displays, and on BlueClaws.com, plus they have special opportunities to hold events, such as charity walks, at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment. They crossed the 7-million fan plateau in 2017.

BlueClaws Staffer Jamie Stone To Be Recognized By Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore

BlueClaws staff member Jamie Stone will be recognized as part of the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore’s Phenomenal Women Under 40 event on Thursday, September 14th at Park Pavilion in Seaside Park.

Stone serves as the BlueClaws Marketing, Events, Promotions, and Partnership Activation Manager, a role that she has held since 2015. She has previously worked as a Group Sales Manager and Food & Beverage Assistant with the BlueClaws.

In her role with the BlueClaws, Jamie is responsible for all entertainment at the ballpark, including the BlueClaws promotional schedule, giveaways, on-field promotions, and theme nights/events, among many tasks.

She helped the BlueClaws win a Golden Bobblehead Award in 2015 for the Ball Brawl on-field promotion, and helped the BlueClaws get nominated for another Golden Bobblehead Award in 2016 for Harry Potter Night, which was recognized as the Minor League Baseball promotion of the Month for May of last year.

“I am truly honored to be recognized by the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore,” said Stone. “There are so many great young women doing awesome work at the Jersey Shore and it is very humbling to be a part of the group.”

A native of Barnegat, NJ, Jamie graduated from Southern Regional High School in 2006 before attending Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI where she earned her degree in Sports/Entertainment & Event Management.

“When our Girl Scouts look to the community for role models, we want to show them young women professionals who are making a difference today,” said Susan H. McClure, chief executive officer, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore. “Our Phenom Award recipients are fearless and daring leaders who set an example in everything they do. Their drive and determination make them excellent examples of women who aren’t afraid to try new things and who do whatever it takes to get the job done.”

Stone and nine others will be recognized as Phenomenal Women Under 40 by the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore on September 14th. Tickets for the event, which begins with a 6:00 pm cocktail hour, are available online at JerseyShoreGirlScouts.org.

SCOUT NIGHTS IN 2017 PRESENTED BY WHATABURGER

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are excited to partner with Whataburger for three Scout Night Campouts at Arvest Ballpark during the 2017 season. Scout Nights presented by Whataburger are open to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts and will be on Friday, April 21, Saturday, June 10, and Friday, August 25.

The annual fan favorite is not only open to scouts but their friends and family as well. These designated event nights give scouts from Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding area the opportunity to attend a Naturals game for a discounted ticket price. The game is just the beginning as after the game scouts will get the chance to watch a kid-friendly movie on the videoboard as well as camp overnight in the outfield for no additional cost. All scouts and leaders in attendance will receive a commemorative 2017 scout patch courtesy of the Naturals and a coupon courtesy of Whataburger that is redeemable at any of their Northwest Arkansas locations.

All three Scout Nights will feature a post-game Fireworks Spectacular. Friday, April 21 is a Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular with Popular Player Walk-Up Songs presented by SeaPak while Friday, August 25 is a Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular with Fan Vote Music Theme by Farm Rich. Saturday, June 10 is our popular Star Wars Night Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular. Saturday, June 10 begins at 6:35 p.m. while both Friday games start at 7:05 p.m.

Legends’ donations for 2016 top $1,000,000

Big L and the Legends welcomed Girl Scouts to Whitaker Bank Ballpark for a campout May 6. More than 330 girls spent the night at the ballpark. The Girl Scouts were one of many organizations who received support from Legends’ community programs in 2016.

             (WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) The Lexington Legends made donations totaling $1,000,763 in 2016 to a variety of non-profit organizations serving central Kentucky.

In its 16-year history, the Legends organization has donated close to $15 million to the region.

“The Legends are proud to be part of this community and region,” said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea. “We will continue to provide support to these great organizations that do so much good work.”

Among the organizations and causes who benefited from events and programs in 2016 were:

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts:  Overnight campouts for Boy Scouts (August 18) and Girl Scouts (May 6) were held following Legends games at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The scouts sold nearly 1,000 donated game tickets to raise funds for their organizations. About 700 scouts participated in the campouts.

                Breast Cancer Research and Awareness: The Legends held Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on July 9. Funds raised through an auction of pink jerseys and pink bases used during the Legends game that night, along with t-shirt sales, benefited Kentucky Cancer Link, which serves breast cancer patients on a personal basis by reducing or eliminating barriers to screening, diagnosis and treatment; The Markey Cancer Center, established in 1983 as a Comprehensive Cancer Center; and Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. The Legends and LBX held a celebration lunch, with proceeds going to those same three organizations.

                Military Appreciation Night: The Legends’ Military Appreciation night was held on June 25. It included an auction of jerseys to benefit Military Missions, a local non-profit organization that supports troops in a variety of ways, including the sending of care packages with personal items and snacks to military personnel.

                Bark in the Park: The Legends held 12 “Bark in the Park” nights during the 2016 season. Dog owners were invited to bring their dogs to the game, and a two-dollar “admission” charge for each dog was donated to the Scott County Humane Society.

Guns and Hoses Softball Game:  The Legends provide the setting for the Guns and Hoses game, which matches the Lexington Police Department against the Lexington Fire Department in a softball game and home run derby. The winning team takes home a trophy, and the loser receives a toilet seat as the runner-up prize. More than 2,000 people attended the 2016 game.

Community Organization of the Night:  The Legends provide an opportunity for a local non-profit organization to step into the spotlight at a Legends home game. Organizations may set up an information table on the concourse, and a representative is interviewed on the field before the game and on radio during the game.    Organizations who purchased discounted tickets for re-sale as a fundraiser also received 25% of the proceeds from that night’s 50-50 raffle. (The Legends Charitable Fund also received 25%, and the fan holding the winning ticket received 50%.)

                Hit the Books Reading Program: Geared toward elementary schools, the Legends’ Hit the Books Reading Program is designed to encourage students to read, both in school and away from school.    The Legends gave away 33,000 Hit the Books bookmarks to students in central Kentucky in 2016. (A winning bookmark design is selected from students’ entries.) Those who complete the Hit the Books reading program are awarded two tickets to a Legends home game.

Field of Dreams: The Paul Miller Ford Field of Dreams program allows youth baseball and softball players to be part of pre-game festivities. Members of the youth teams are introduced to the fans and take the field along with the Legends starters. Teams are selected at random from registrations received at Field of Dreams sponsor locations.   Team members receive complimentary admission to the game. The Legends hosted 80 Field of Dreams teams in 2016.

           Legends Character Award at William Wells Brown Elementary:   Every nine weeks during the school year, 19 students from William Wells Brown Elementary School in Lexington are selected to receive the Legends Character Award. The award is designed to motivate students to demonstrate good behavior and a great attitude. The students are nominated by their classroom teachers. Winners are publicly recognized and personally congratulated by the Legends’ Big L.

Kids Area:   At every Legends home game in 2016, Lafayette High School cheerleaders volunteered to work in the Aetna Kids Play Area to raise money for their cheer program. The Legends made a $7,500 donation to the program.

Go Red Night: The American Heart Association and St. Joseph Health Care System sponsored a “Go Red” Night June 3 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, where fans received information on the dangers and risks of heart disease. Free blood pressure checks and presentations of information were provided throughout the game.

Donation requests:  The Legends donate tickets, memorabilia or merchandise to as many organizations as possible. Tickets are used by members of the non-profit organizations or for auctions to raise funds for those organizations. The Legends fulfilled more than 300 donation requests in 2016.

  United Way of the Bluegrass:  Donors to the annual United Way of the Bluegrass campaign receive two free box seat tickets to a Legends home game. In 2016, the Legends donated 23,333 tickets for use by the United Way.

St. Joseph Hospital Nursing Scholarship Program: At the end of every baseball season, the Legends hold a silent auction for the jerseys worn by the players during home games. Proceeds go to the St. Joseph Hospital Nursing Scholarship Program.

                Fundraising tickets:   The Legends offer schools, teams and other organizations an opportunity to buy tickets at a discounted price and raise funds by selling the tickets at the regular price. More than 5,000 tickets were purchased at the discount rate for fundraising in 2016.

BlueClaws Charities Completes Grant Program With Grants to 35 Local Partner Organizations

BlueClaws Charities Community Partner organizations, all 501c3s that work with the BlueClaws throughout the year, were eligible to apply for a grant and all organizations that applied for a grant received one.

“BlueClaws Charities is excited to support such a wide variety of outstanding, local, non-profit organizations,” said Jim DeAngelis, BlueClaws Charities Executive Director. “These organizations are on the ground working with the underserved in our communities, doing spectacular work. It is an honor for BlueClaws Charities to be able to assist.”

BlueClaws Charities, a registered 501c3 organization, raises money at all 70 BlueClaws home games. A 50/50 raffle, special jersey auctions, and miscellaneous programs are used to raise money during games. The annual “Phillies Winter Banquet,” “ALS Celebrity Waiter Event,” “Bowling With the BlueClaws,” and the “BlueClaws Charities Nine & Dine Golf Outing” are additional fundraising initiatives conducted by BlueClaws Charities.

“Our fans and donors have been tremendously supportive of BlueClaws Charities over the years, and this year was no exception,” said DeAngelis. “We look forward to another successful season in 2017!”

Below, find a list of organizations and programs supported through the annual BlueClaws Charities grant program:

  • ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia – For patient care services to help the 50 ALS patient families living in Monmouth & Ocean Counties.
  • American Heart Association – For their Heart Walk, a community event that encourages physical activity to help lower risk factors that can lead to heart disease.
  • Arc of Ocean County – For their mission of helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities be accepted and valued as citizens of the community.
  • Ashley Lauren Foundation – For assisting children with cancer and their families through direct financial assistance.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County – For providing group mentoring activities to children on their waiting list of 180 children, enabling them to be involved with the agency.
  • Boot Campaign – For raising awareness and assistance for military families and personnel especially relating to the unique challenges they face during and post-service.
  • Caregiver Volunteers – For defraying the cost of criminal background checks completed on volunteers prior to assignments.
  • Cheer Dream Scoliosis Foundation – For assisting children with medical needs in their facility.
  • Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation – For improving the quality of life for children and adults affected by the diseases.
  • Daniela’s Wish – For granting wishes to sick children in the community.
  • Dottie’s House – For providing safe housing for women and their children through a program that empowers them to become self-sufficient and free from violence.
  • Easter Seals New Jersey – For installing a new ram and deck to an existing residential home for Easter Seals program participants.
  • Exit 82 Theatre Company – For funding their 2017 production season with selected shows.
  • Tom Giannattasio Jr. Memorial Fund – For providing scholarships for Brick Township High Schools.
  • Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore – For supporting their summer outreach initiative Girls Are Great, which sends underserved girls to camp.
  • Go4TheGoal – For helping kids with cancer in the program achieve their goals.
  • Interfaith Hospitality Network – For supporting their mission of providing emergency shelter and other urgently needed services to a growing number of homeless families in Ocean County.
  • Kids Need More – For enhancing the lives of children, families, and young adults coping with cancer and life-threatening illness.
  • LADACIN Network – For enhancing the program offerings at their Adult Day Habilitation program with a new horticulture gardening and farming experience.
  • Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Fund – For aiding their mission of aiding and assisting our wounded warriors and their families.
  • Mary’s Place By the Sea – For supporting the oncology massage program for women with cancer.
  • NJ Tears Foundation – For promoting pregnancy and infant loss awareness and support in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
  • Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity – For assisting in building a home for a single mother and two children in Ocean County.
  • Ocean County Family Support Organization – For assisting in their spring camping trip for youth partnership.
  • Ocean Partnership for Children – For assisting needy youth families during the holiday season.
  • Ocean County Shrine Club – For the Shriners Hospital’s Surgical Navigation System for Children’s Spine Injuries.
  • Ocean County YMCA – For helping kids, families, and seniors in the community find the assets they need in YMCA programs and memberships regardless of incomes and backgrounds.
  • Ocean’s Harbor House – For supplementing the salary of a Life Skills counselor working with homeless youths in their Transitional Living Program.
  • Opportunity Knocks – For assisting in long-term community placement of the disabled.
  • Parents of Autistic Children – For providing a challenger sports league designed to offer a socialization opportunity for disabled students and developing peers in Ocean and Monmouth Counties.
  • Piece of the Puzzle – For technology to help students with autism learn and practice vocational skills.
  • Raising Hope for Others – For assisting the organization with financial costs for organizing and running their major fundraising events.
  • Salvation Army – For funding their feeding program for local underserved.
  • St. Vincent DePaul Society – For helping to fund temporary sheltering of local homeless.
  • United Way of Monmouth & Ocean Counties – For acquiring hats, coats, gloves, and scarves to help keep children warm this winter.

BlueClaws Charities, in addition to the grant program, supports hundreds of non-profit organizations with gift package donations, golf outing hole-in-one sponsorships, and specialty organizations such as OCEAN, Inc., a federal program that assists the less fortunate in the community. The “Tickets for Kids Program,” another BlueClaws Charities initiative, donates over 2,000 tickets to under-served youths in Lakewood and elsewhere in Ocean County.

Community Partners raise money through a BlueClaws fundraiser outing and have the opportunity to volunteer in the FirstEnergy Park concession stands to raise additional funds. These organizations also receive exposure through on-field presentations, table displays, and on BlueClaws.com, plus they have special opportunities to hold events, such as charity walks, at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment. They have led the South Atlantic League and New Jersey in attendance in each year of existence and will reach the 7-million fan plateau in 2017.

Dodgers to Honor Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma as Chesapeake Community All-Stars

Organization to become first honoree of the 2015 season Saturday

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Dodgers and Chesapeake Energy Corporation are proud to honor Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma as Chesapeake Energy Community All-Stars during Saturday’s Dodgers’ game against the Omaha Storm Chasers at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Chesapeake Energy Community All-Stars program identifies organizations that have gone above and beyond to make a difference in their communities. In partnership with the Dodgers, Chesapeake will honor five organizations throughout the 2015 baseball season.

“We’re so fortunate to live in the state of Oklahoma, which is full of so many generous organizations,” OKC Dodgers President/General Manager Michael Byrnes said. “Dodgers games provide an ideal platform to assist in Chesapeake’s mission of recognizing deserving organizations that better their communities.”

More than 14,000 people are involved with Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma, which aims to build “girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place,” according to the organization’s mission statement.

“At Girl Scouts, girls have the opportunity to do something big,” Shannon Evers, chief executive officer at Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma said. “They discover themselves and they learn about who they are, what they care about and what interests they may have.”

Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma will be honored at the end of the third inning of Saturday’s game.

Lindsay McIntyre, with Chesapeake, will present the award. Karen Sandlin, public relations and marketing specialist for Girls Scouts Western Oklahoma, will accept the award on behalf of the organization.

First pitch for Saturday’s game is set for 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The award presentation, including an informational video about Girls Scouts Western Oklahoma, will follow the end of the third inning.

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Calling all Scouts! The BlueClaws will again hold an extensive Scout program in 2015 and kick it off in style, wearing special Boy Scout Jerseys at their first Scout Day game on Sunday, June 7th.

The special scout jerseys are presented by the Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts. They will be auctioned off at the 1:05 pm game and the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts.

The BlueClaws Scout Program includes four days – June 7th (1:05), July 25th (7:05), August 8th (7:05), August 17th (7:05). July 25th and August 8th are both Scout Night Sleeporvers presented by Camping World, where scouts can camp out on the field after the game. June 7th and August 17th are Kids Eat Free days where scouts 12 and under will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips, and a soda.

Each participating boy or girl scout will receive a Scout Patch. This year’s patch was designed by Grace Beeler of Girl Scout Troop 114 in Hazlet. She was the winner of the annual BlueClaws Scout Patch Design contest.

Scout patches from each of the BlueClaws 15 seasons of Scout Nights are available in the Claws Cove.

All scout groups receive value-priced tickets and a pre-game parade, as well as additional fun.

Loons, Girl Scouts Team Up For Dow Diamond Sleepover!

Girl Scout Family Night and sleepover scheduled for May 15

Great-Lakes-LoonsThe Great Lakes Loons and Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan are pleased to partner for the Girl Scout Family Night and Sleepover at Dow Diamond on May 15.

The event will include two options for participants. The Game Only option will give participants the opportunity to watch the Loons game vs. the South Bend Cubs, take a behind-the-scenes tour, receive a patch, and meet and greet with Rall E. Camel

Girl_ScoutsThe Game and Sleepover option will include all of the above plus a post-game dance party, a movie shown on Dow Diamond’s video scoreboard, as well as the opportunity to sleep on the field. All participants must supply their own tent. Males will sleep in a separate area and must also provide their own tent.

The Game Only Option is $8 per participant until April 30 and $11 after until May 6. The Game & Sleepover Option is $15 per participant until April 30 and $18 after. The sleepover will last until 7 a.m. Saturday. Dow Diamond is located at 825 E. Main St., Midland, MI.

A special prize will be awarded to the troop or Girl Scout family who show the most Girl Scout spirit.

To reserve tickets, fill out a Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan program registration form and roster (attached), or register online at gshom.org. BlueClaws Host Scout Patch Design Contest

Lakewood-BlueClaws-LogoThe BlueClaws are holding their annual Scout Patch Design Contest to determine the official patch that will be given out to scouts at Scout Nights this summer.

Click here to download the official contest rules and a design template.

Use 10 colors or less to fill in the circle with your patch design. Please note on each sheet the scout’s name and their parent’s contact information. As a reminder, 2015 is the BlueClaws 15th season in Lakewood, so keep that in mind when designing your patch!

The winner will be decided on April 1st, and will be rewarded a ceremonial first pitch before whichever 2015 Scout Night they attend.

Northwest Arkansas Naturals Announce 2015 Scout Campout Dates

Scout patch & post-game campout included in events for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, & Cub Scouts

Northwest-Arkansas-NaturalsThe Northwest Arkansas Naturals are excited to announce that we will once again be hosting Scout Campouts by Camping World of Northwest Arkansas at Arvest Ballpark during our upcoming 2015 season. For the first time in franchise history, the Naturals will host three (3) of these Scout Campouts during the year and they will be on Friday, April 17, Saturday, June 27, and Friday, August 28.

Boy-Scouts-logo3The annual fan favorite is open to not only scouts but their friends and family as well. These designated events give scouts the opportunity to attend a Naturals game for a discounted group rate and enjoy an overnight campout in the outfield after the game for no additional cost. In addition, a kid-friendly movie will be shown on the videoboard during the campout after the game and all scouts and leaders in attendance will receive a commemorative 2015 Naturals’ scout patch. The Naturals selected the scout patch this off-season from a collection of designs created by local scouts and this year’s winner was Kendra McMaster, a 9 year old from Bella Vista and a member of Girl Scout Troop 5850. Tickets for Scout Night are only $8 per person if reserved in advance.

Girl_ScoutsFor scout groups wishing to participate in these events, the Naturals encourage one (1) parent or leader in the group to collect RSVP’s and payment from each family that would like to attend. This ensures that all members of the group will be seated together during the night of the event. Toledo-Mud-HensCalling all Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops! Back by popular demand, the Toledo Mud Hens are hosting Scout Experience Nights during the 2015 season. This is a great opportunity for scouts to watch the world famous Mud Hens in action, meet boys and girls from other troops, and have a sleepover at the ballpark!

Scout Experience Nights for Boy Scouts will be held on: May 23, June 6, June 19, July 17, July 18 and August 15. Scout Experience Nights for Girl Scouts will be held on: June 20 and August 8.

Tickets are $10, which includes a pregame Scout Parade on the field, a ticket to the Mud Hens game as well as an awesome postgame fireworks display! Add the sleepover adventure for $8, which includes running the bases following the fireworks, building a tent, rolling out the sleeping bag and enjoying a family-friendly movie on the video board during an overnight stay at Fifth Third Field.
