BlueClaws Charities Announces 2018 Grant Recipients

BlueClaws Charities announced the 39 different organizations to receive a grant as part of their 2018 grant distribution.

LAKEWOOD, NJ – BlueClaws Charities completed their 10th annual grant distribution by handing out grants to 39 area organizations, it was announced on Monday.

BlueClaws Charities Community Partner organizations, all 501c3s that work with the BlueClaws throughout the year, were eligible to apply for a grant and all organizations that applied for a grant received one.

Each applicant was asked to detail a specific use for the grant, with the requirement that all money received from BlueClaws Charities stays in Ocean & Monmouth Counties. A complete list can be found below.

“We are very proud to be support such a wide variety of local organizations that do tremendous work as part of the non-profit community around the Jersey Shore,” said Jim DeAngelis, BlueClaws Charities Executive Director. “These organizations are on the ground working with the underserved in our communities, doing spectacular work.

“Further, it is important that all of the grant money donated by BlueClaws Charities stays here in Ocean and Monmouth Counties,” said DeAngelis. ” It is an honor for BlueClaws Charities to be able to assist these great groups doing their work in our local community.”

The following organizations received grants:

– ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia – to subsidize the cost of services for people living with ALS who reside in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
– Alzheimer’s Association – to provide services to people living with Alzheimer’s and their families.
– The Arc, Ocean County Chapter – to provide funding to the Arc programs that support 1,500 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential, vocational, and recreation services throughout the community.
– The Ashley Lauren Foundation – to assist children with cancer and their families through direct family financial assistance.
– Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Ocean County – to continue community mentorship programs in Ocean County.
– Boy Scouts of America, Jersey Shore Council – to provide direct support to the Scoutreach Cub Scout pack at the Clark Elementary School in Lakewood.
– The Brodie Fund – to continue their mission of offering financial assistance to families that have pets fighting cancer.
– Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey – to help defray the cost of criminal background checks completed on all volunteers prior to assignments.
– Cheer Dream Scoliosis Foundation – to enhance the equipment for their special needs team.
– David’s Dream and Believe Cancer Foundation – to offer financial assistance and wellness services to families affected by a cancer diagnosis.
– Dottie’s House – to provide essential counseling to families to become self-sufficient in their futures.
– Easterseals New Jersey – to teach individuals living with disabilities and special needs and their families about health, nutrition, and exercise education.
– Exit 82 Theatre Company – to assist in their 2019 production season.
– Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore – to fund the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore’s outreach program in Ocean County.
– Go 4 The Goal – to support the Kart 4 Kids, a kart stocked with snacks, gift cards, toys, activities, and electronics to entice kids of all ages.
– Guidinglight House – to provide funding for program services for homeless female veterans.
– HABcore, Inc – to help fund the supportive services program component of HABcore’s Rapid Re-Housing Program in Ocean County.
– JAR of Hope – to fund research in the hope of eliminating Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
– Kids Need More – to enhance the lives of children and their families dealing with a diagnosis of cancer or life threatening illness.
– LADACIN Network – to support their Child Care and Preschool Program which integrate children with and without disabilities.
– Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Fund – to provide funds to assist in aiding and assistant wounded warriors and their families.
– The Mya Lin Terry Foundation – to support their Holiday Gifting Campaign to benefit pediatric cancer warriors.
– Northern Ocean County Habitat for Humanity – to provide necessary repairs and modifications to a senior’s home through their Aging in Place program.
– Ocean County Family Support Organization – to offset the costs of trips for their Youth Partnerships Program.
– Ocean County Shrine Club – to expand and upgrade the hospital’s Walk-in and Urgent Pediatric Fracture Clinic.
– Ocean County YMCA – to support kids, families, and seniors through the Y-Cares Financial Assistance Program such that they will be able to benefit from membership regardless of their financial resources.
– Ocean’s Harbor House – to replace aging computers in their Emergency Youth Shelter.
– Ocean Partnership for Children – to provide needed equipment for the agency’s consulting psychiatrist to use with the youth being seen, as well as to provide books, sensory materials, and toys for the waiting room and psychiatrist’s meeting space.
– Piece of the Puzzle – to produce a Corner Cafe vocational curriculum for students with autism.
– Parents of Autistic Children – to provide a challenger sports league designed to offer a socialization opportunity between disabled students along with typically developing peers from across Ocean and Monmouth Counties.
– Probation Association of New Jersey Education Fund – to enhance education training opportunities through the operation of their annual training conference.
– Raising Hope for Others – to offset the cost of their August fundraiser.
– RJM Sportsgroup – to help raise money for scholarships for students who belong to the Jackson School District.
– The Salvation Army of Ocean County – to help fund their weekly soup kitchen meal, which serves 50-100 meals each week.
– Seabrook Village – to provide scholarships to eligible student employees who graduate high school and are participating in a form of higher education.
– Society for Prevention of Teen Suicide – support Ocean County Youth Council programming for the 2018-19 academic year by engaging youth ambassadors in the prevention process and working on suicide prevention projects.
– The TEARS Foundation – to provide assistance to families who have lost a child due to pregnancy or infant loss in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
– Tom Giannattasio Jr. Memorial Fund – to provide scholarships to graduating seniors residing in Brick Township.
– United Way of Monmouth & Ocean Counties – to purchase warm clothing for low-income children.

Money is raised for BlueClaws Charities throughout the year including through a nightly 50/50 raffle at all BlueClaws home games, special jersey auctions, and events like the Nine and Dine golf outing.

BlueClaws Charities, in addition to this grant program, supports hundreds local organizations and fundraising events with gift package donations, golf outing hole-in-one sponsorships, and specialty organizations such as OCEAN, Inc., a federal program that assists the less fortunate in the community. The “Tickets for Kids Program,” another BlueClaws Charities initiative, donates over 2,000 tickets to under-served youths in Lakewood and elsewhere in Ocean County.

Other events hosted by BlueClaws Charities include a Challenger Clinic for the developmentally disabled, a food & toy drive during the holiday season, a school supply drive leading into the fall, and baseball camps for the underserved in conjunction with the MLB Players Association.

Jumbo Shrimp to host Family Holiday Event at the Baseball Grounds Dec. 8

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Fun 4 First Coast Kids invite fans to kick off the Holiday season with our very Shrimpy Christmas event on Saturday, December 8 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Christmas movie classics How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Frosty’s Winter Wonderland being shown on the high-definition video board. Fans can also enjoy free pictures with Santa Claus, face painting and Christmas crafts. There will be s’more for sale, as well as other Christmas treats, and a kid zone on the field with a bouncy house and inflatable slide.

Admission is only $1 per person at the home plate gate or free with one new unwrapped toy, per family, to donate to children in need this holiday season. Attendees may sit on the field, and the stadium seating bowl will be open for seating. Contribute to the Annual Toys for Tots Drive!

FREDERICK, MD-The Frederick Keys are excited to announce their continued partnership with the Toys for Tots Program. Entering the seventh straight year where the Keys and Toys for Tots have worked together, fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys in November and December. These gifts are then handed out to less fortunate children on Christmas Day.

“It is important that the holiday season is a special time for local children,” said Keys Director of Marketing, Erin Lawson. “We’ve been impressed at the community’s support each year and we can’t wait for another great turnout in 2018.”

The collection period for Toys for Tots is underway and runs through Friday, December 14. To make a donation, fans can visit the Nymeo Field main office (adjacent to the stadium main gates) during normal business hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) Monday-Friday. Anyone who contributes a new, unwrapped toy receives a Keys hat and two tickets to a game in 2019. Fans can also bring toys to the annual Keys Holiday Event on Saturday, December 1 which runs from 10 a.m-1 p.m. Prize packs will be limited to one per person.

Nymeo Field has frequently been one of the top collection sites in Frederick County. A program that began in 1947, there are more than 150 Marine reserve sites as wells as more than 800 local Toys for Tots programs across the country. In 2016 nearly 50,000 toys were collected in Frederick County and almost $30,000 was raised.

Planning for the 2019 Frederick Keys season is underway, which includes the Carolina League All-Star Classic on Tuesday, June 18 presented by Visit Frederick. Shorebirds Present Toy Donation To Brooke’s Toy Closet

SALISBURY, MD – The Delmarva Shorebirds are proud to announce in conjunction with partners at Market Street Inn, MoJo’s, and the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, the results of the Brooke’s Toy Closet Toy Drive, held on Saturday, July 21st and Friday, August 3rd at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

In total, 449 items were donated by Shorebirds fans, with the Shorebirds presenting the donation to Brooke’s Toy Closet at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center recently, along with members from Market Street Inn, MoJo’s, and the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation, which oversees and maintains Brooke’s Toy Closet. An anonymous donor donated $1,000 that was used by Shorebirds’ first baseman, Ryan Ripken, Shorebirds’ front office staff, Brooke’s half sister, Arden, and Brooke’s long time friend, Greyson, to go purchase toys to be included in the donation to Brooke’s Toy Closet.

Toy Donations ranged from activity books, stuffed animals, interactive toys, coloring books, books, action figures, etc. All these items will be extremely beneficial to replenishing Brooke’s Toy Closet and very much appreciated from members of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation.

“For the third straight year, Shorebirds fans in this community have come together as one to help support this tremendous community asset at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center. We are extremely grateful for these partnerships. Thank you to all the fans who made this possible!” said Shorebirds Director of Marketing Eric Sichau.

Shorebirds to Hold Collection for Brooke’s Toy Closet

SALISBURY, Md. — The Delmarva Shorebirds are proud to partner with Market Street Inn and MoJo’s again in 2018 to hold a toy drive to benefit Brooke’s Toy Closet at The Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Brooke’s Toy Closet was started in 2014 by Brooke Mulford, a local girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer, in January of 2009, when she was four years old. Brooke, unfortunately, lost her battle with cancer in June of 2017. Brooke’s Toy Closet is a special cabinet filled with toys, coloring books and other goodies that PRMC’s Emergency Department and Pediatrics Unit can give to children who are hospitalized. The recipients of these gifts will be able to use them when they’re in the hospital, and take them home to enjoy when they are feeling better.

The toy drive will be held on Saturday, July 21st when the Shorebirds host their annual Christmas in July game at 7:05 PM against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Gates will open at 4:00 PM so that fans can watch the Shorebirds and Grasshoppers take batting practice. The Shorebirds will be holding the collection in the Fun Zone outside the main gates of Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Those who make a donation will receive a ticket voucher to a future 2018 Shorebirds home game, a $5 gift card to Market Street or MoJo’s, an entry in a raffle to win another $50 gift card to each restaurant, and other prizes. The Shorebirds will accept new unwrapped toys, activity books, and other children’s toy items.

If you can’t make it to the Shorebirds game on July 21st, starting on July 1st, you can drop off your donated toys at Market Street Inn at 130 W Market Street in Salisbury.

That night’s game will also feature the Shorebirds wearing special Christmas-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit the Shorebirds Fly Together Fund and a postgame Q105 fireworks show presented by MoJo’s and Market Street Inn.

Dragons and Vectren Present 2018 “Community All-Stars”

Dayton, Ohio – The Dragons and Vectren will honor Shoes 4 the Shoeless during the unique “Community All-Stars” program on Monday, June 25, at 7:00 p.m. when the Dayton Dragons take on the Great Lakes Loons at Fifth Third Field.

The Dayton community is a great place to live, work and play. But what makes Dayton truly great are the people that call Dayton home. We have great people and great organizations in our community that do incredible things each and every day. Throughout the season, the Dragons and Vectren will honor five “All-Stars” with a special inning break tribute in recognition of their service.

Shoes 4 the Shoeless Story: “Shoes & Socks Bring Hope”

Kris Horlacher is a nurse by trade, but a decade ago she began devoting her time to a tutoring and mentoring program for homeless kids. Whether it’s finding food to eat or shelter for the night, these children have plenty of needs, and something that is often overlooked is their feet. According to Horlacher, “a pair of shoes and socks that are in good condition and fit, is the biggest unmet need for children living in poverty.” After researching, they found only a few organizations nationwide who provide these resources. They did not appear to be highly effective so, in 2010, Horlacher decided to take action into her own hands.

Within the first year of forming Shoes for the Shoeless (S4TS), Horlacher and her team won the Pepsi Refresh competition, a nationwide competition for organizations to compete for a $50,000 grant. Horlacher proudly states, “against all odds, Shoes 4 the Shoeless won, beating out large corporations from all across the country.” This funding was the traction needed to launch the organization.

Many of the children served by S4TS have never owned a pair of new shoes. Instead they wear hand-me-downs that are extremely worn, and not even close to the right size. Children go to school wearing shoes full of holes, missing soles, taped together, etc. Hundreds of local children do not even own socks. S4TS corrects these painful and embarrassing problems for children on the spot.

Since 2011, Shoes 4 the Shoeless has served over 75,000 children in 7 counties. Around 500 volunteers go to schools each month and work one-on-one with kids to find the right pair of shoes. Sea Dogs Partner with Goodwill for Donation Drive

Portland, Maine– The Portland Sea Dogs have partnered with Goodwill Northern New England to host the 9th Annual Goodwill Night and Donation Drive at Hadlock Field on Wednesday, June 20th when the Sea Dogs take on the Reading Fightin Phils at 7:00 PM.

Fans are encouraged to bring bags of gently used clothing, books, and other household items to Hadlock Field to donate to Goodwill. Goodwill will have a donation center at Hadlock Field to collect the items. Donations help fund Goodwill services that strengthen our local communities by getting people back to work and receiving the support they need to lead more stable lives.

Isotopes, Cumulus Media to hold “Pack the Van” Clothing Caravan

The Albuquerque Isotopes and Cumulus Media Albuquerque are partnering to help Locker #505 provide clothing to Bernalillo County students in grades K-12 in need.

The “Pack the Van” Clothing Caravan’s goal is to collect new or gently used clothing for the Locker #505 program. There is a need for clothing in a variety of sizes for children in grades K-12, with an emphasis on hoodies, winter gloves, winter coats, winter hats and new socks. Donations for the Caravan will be accepted from Feb. 20 through Mar. 2. The Clothing Caravan of Isotopes and Cumulus vans to Locker #505 will take place on Saturday, Mar. 3.

“Our eight radio stations are dedicated to serving New Mexico,” said Cumulus Albuquerque Market Managers Jeff Berry. “We’re proud to work with our long-time partner, the Albuquerque Isotopes and Locker #505, whose mission is so noble and critical in helping clothe the students of Bernalillo County.”

Isotopes Vice President and General Manager John Traub stated, “This is a great opportunity for everyone to help the kids of our community. We look forward to working with Cumulus over the next two weeks, bringing in as much clothing as possible for the youth of Albuquerque.”

Donations can be dropped off at Isotopes Park or at a number of Cumulus radio remotes throughout Albuquerque over the Caravan’s two week duration. Collection sites for “Pack the Van” include Isotopes Park (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm) and the Burlington Coat Factory East and West side locations on Feb. 23 and Mar. 2, 4pm – 6pm.

Locker #505 is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that has established a student-focused facility where children can try on and choose outfits that they feel good about wearing. Having appropriate school clothing allows children to concentrate on their school work, not their clothing. It also helps keep children, who might not go to class because of their clothes, stay in school.

RiverDogs Host Charlie Claus Toy Drive to Benefit MUSC Children’s Hospital

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charlie and the RiverDogs are asking fans to help give back this holiday season. The club will be accepting donations of unopened toys at Riley Park all this week as they open their gates for the Charlie Claus Toy Drive to benefit the MUSC Shawn Jenkin’s Children’s Hospital.

“After cancelling our original Charlie Claus event due to weather this past weekend, we wanted to come up with an alternative for our fans to give back this holiday season,” said RiverDogs Community Relations Director Walter Nolan-Cohn. “We would like to thank our fans in advance for their show of support. These donations are a wonderful way to make an impact in the Lowcountry community.”

The four-day long toy drive will run from Monday, December 11 through Thursday, December 14 between the hours of 9am and 4:30pm. Fans are encouraged to donate a new, unopened toy that can be dropped off inside the main gate on Fishburne St. or inside the front office lobby. Every family that donates a toy will also receive a family four-pack (includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four drinks and four bags of chips) for a RiverDogs game in 2018.

 

The week will also culminate with a meet-and-greet featuring Charlie T. RiverDog, Chelsea, and Santa Claus on Thursday, December 14 from 5:30-6:30 in the RiverDogs clubhouse. Families will have the opportunity for photos and to meet the RiverDogs’ signature mascots along with Santa himself.

Charlie will deliver the donated toys from the week’s efforts to the children’s hospital on Wednesday, December 20.

Cougars Holding Winter Coat Drive Through December 15

GENEVA, Ill. – The Kane County Cougars have announced their annual Winter Coat Drive. Now through December 15, fans are welcome to stop by the Cougars administrative office at Northwestern Medicine Field (34W002 Cherry Lane, Geneva, IL 60134) on week days between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to donate winter coats for those in need this holiday season

Donations of new or gently-used winter coats for infants, children and adults are all encouraged. Fans will receive one (1) undated reserved seat ticket voucher valid for a 2018 regular season Cougars game with each donated item. There is a maximum of 10 complimentary ticket vouchers per fan.

In partnership with the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, all donated coats will be given to local families and individuals in need of cold-weather outerwear this winter.

The Cougars are requesting that all new or gently-used winter coats be donated by Friday, December 15 at 4 p.m. For more information, contact the Cougars front office at 630-232-8811.

Auburn Doubledays to Partner with Salvation Army this Holiday Season

Doubledays School Supply Drive to Help Local Kids “Backpack for Success!”

The Auburn Doubledays, Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are excited to announce their partnership with the Salvation Army of Auburn during the holiday season and beyond. The Doubledays staff will participate in delivering dinners to the community the morning of Thanksgiving as a part of their #52forU community service initiative.

“The Salvation Army has been a part of the Auburn community for generations and it’s up to us as a community to pitch in for those in need,” Doubledays general manager Adam Winslow said. “In this season of giving, we are proud to partner with the Salvation Army to help our neighbors in the community.”

In the spirit of the season of giving the Doubledays are also collecting food and toy items for the Holiday season. The Salvation Army is looking for non-perishable food items that can be distributed to those in need. “Volunteering is vital for our progress, and we are very pleased the Auburn Doubledays have committed to us this holiday season,” said Major Campbell of the Salvation Army

You can help the Salvation Army, the Auburn Doubledays, and your community by bringing non-perishable food items and donated toys to the Salvation Army headquarters at 18 E. Genesee St. or the Doubledays office at 130 N. Division Street in Auburn during regular business hours Monday through Friday 9am-5pm starting the week of November 28th.

The Auburn Doubledays are also pleased to announce a new initiative that will take place at the ballpark in conjunction with the Salvation Army called “Backpacks for Success!” Every Sunday game during the 2018 season we will be accepting donations of school supplies and backpacks that will be donated to local school districts. As an added bonus, any individuals that bring a backpack with school supplies to be donated will receive a complimentary ticket to that Sunday game.

“Backpacks for Success! is a phenomenal way for the Doubledays to continue their support for the local Salvation Army and our community throughout the summer,” Winslow stated. “As a community organization, it is our privilege to assist and support our children in this way, by investing in their future. In my opinion this is a great cause, and doing the right thing is the right thing to do.” Major Campbell echoed that sentiment, “Backpacks and supplies are sorely needed for our children today. Children who are ill-equipped for school don’t perform as well academically, and often feel sad and embarrassed about their situation. We feel honored to be able to help in this way”

Everett AquaSox Partner with Toys for Tots

Everett, WA – The Everett AquaSox have partnered with U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots for the month of November through December 15. These toys will be distributed as Christmas gifts to needy children in South Snohomish County.

The Everett AquaSox are encouraging those in the Everett community to drop off their new, unwrapped toys for children newborn to 18 at the Everett AquaSox Front Office. The Front Office is located at 3802 Broadway, Everett, WA and is open Monday-Friday from 9 AM until 5 PM.

“Giving back to the community that has supported us since 1984 is a major key to our success as an organization.” Marketing & Website Manager, Jason Grohoske said. “We partner with multiple organizations throughout our season, but we value continuing those relationships year-round.”

The AquaSox and their fans donated 79 pairs of adult socks in October for Socktoberfest benefitting Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Socktoberfest raised nearly 1,050 pairs of socks in 2016.

Our Breakfast With Buster Food & Toy Drive returns on December 9th!

LAKEWOOD, NJ – The 18th annual Breakfast With Buster Holiday Food & Toy Drive returns to FirstEnergy Park on Saturday, December 9th from 9 am – 11 am. This year’s event is presented by Rosko’s Bagels in Jackson.

Once again, Buster will be joined by his holiday friend, Santa Claus, at the event, which is free to the public. The BlueClaws ask that those in attendance bring unwrapped toys and/or non-perishable food with all donations benefiting the Salvation Army of Ocean County.

Rosko’s Bagels will provide complimentary bagels and the BlueClaws will provide coffee for attendees.

“This is one of the first events the BlueClaws ever hosted, debuting in December of 2000,” recalled Jim DeAngelis, BlueClaws VP of Community Relations. “It’s been very well supported by the community every year and we look forward to another great event, supporting the less fortunate leading into the holiday season.”

Potomac Nationals to Begin Toys for Tots Drive November 9th

Woodbridge, VA—As the holiday season comes upon us, the Potomac Nationals are excited to announce a new partnership with Toys for Tots. The local program, run by the Quantico Chapter of the US Marine Corps, collects new, unwrapped toys in November and December. These gifts are then spread to children in the area on Christmas Day.

“While the holiday season is a joyous time of the year for the Potomac Nationals family, spent reflecting on all which we are thankful for, and sharing gifts with our loved ones and friends, there are many underprivileged children in our region who will not be afforded the same opportunity to open presents during the holidays,” said Potomac Nationals GM of Sales, Bryan Holland.

“In an effort to serve as a conduit to our community’s less fortunate, the P-Nats are honored to partner with the Toys for Tots program, which annually distributes millions of toys to kids across the United States, as a means to collect toys that will be distributed directly to kids in Northern Virginia who would not otherwise be receiving gifts from their families,” said Holland.

This is the first year that the P-Nats and Toys for Tots have partnered during the holiday season. Collections will begin in the P-Nats’ Front Office at Pfitzner Stadium starting tomorrow, November 9th, and will conclude on Monday, December 11th. Toys can be dropped off at Pfitzner Stadium during normal business hours (9am-5pm) Monday through Friday. Anyone who contributes a new and unwrapped toy will receive four undated grandstand tickets for the 2018 Potomac Nationals’ season.

“Any time that the Potomac Nationals can utilize our network of fans, booster club members, sponsors, and friends of the franchise to benefit the greater good, and in this case, to make the holiday season a special and memorable one for underprivileged kids in our community, our club is prepared to dive headfirst into that effort,” said Holland.

“Thank you in advance to the terrific Red, White, & Blue fan base for your support towards the donation of toys and other gifts, which will reach our community’s disadvantaged children following the Potomac Nationals’ Toys for Tots holiday drive.”

Preparations for the 41st season in Potomac franchise history are already underway, as season tickets are currently on sale! Baysox Accepting Nominations, Donations for 11th Year of Louie’s Holiday Hope Project

BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie Baysox announced on Wednesday afternoon that Louie’s Holiday Hope Project will return for the 11th year to brighten the holiday season for local families in need. Beginning now and continuing through early December, the team will be accepting nominations for families that need assistance this holiday season. The Baysox will also be collecting gently used coats, new socks and other warm clothing to be donated to area families.

Louie’s Holiday Hope Project began in 2007 and over the last ten years, has aided close to one hundred area families and over 275 children. This year, the team is proud to partner with Prince George’s County Fire/EMS department, the Bowie Police Department and Bowie Youth & Family Services to help as many families as possible.

“We’ve partnered with the Louie’s Holiday Hope Project for the last several years and have been impressed with all that the Baysox have done to make the holiday special for so many Bowie families. Without this assistance, many area parents would not be able to prepare a special meal or provide gifts for their children” said Wendy Wilcox, Executive Director of Bowie Youth and Family Services.

The Baysox welcome help from fans and members of the local community in order to help as many families as possible. Members of the community can nominate families that need assistance by e-mailing a nomination to info@baysox.com. Submission information can be found at the Baysox website, www.baysox.com. Submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, December 1.

WARM CLOTHES & SOCKS COLLECTION

Prince George’s Stadium will also serve as a collection point for warm clothes and sock donations in conjunction with Louie’s Holiday Hope Project. The team invites fans to bring gently used winter coats, new socks and other warm clothing to the Baysox front office during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday, December 4) to donate to local families and individuals in need.

The Bowie Baysox 2018 season is presented by Money One Federal Credit Union. The Baysox will return in 2018 to celebrate their 26th Season. Season ticket and Holiday Ticket packages are now on sale at baysoxshop.com.
