Sky Sox, CenturyLink Renew Small Business Spotlight

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox are proud to announce the return of a sponsorship program with CenturyLink, the Official Communication Services Company of the Sky Sox, which showcases local businesses. The Small Business Spotlight, which began in 2014, is designed to help businesses in the Colorado Springs area market themselves free of charge at Security Service Field during the 2016 Sky Sox season. In addition, the Colorado Springs Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which CenturyLink also sponsors, will help supply consulting and training to existing and new businesses.

Through their partnership with the Sky Sox during the 2016 baseball season, CenturyLink will provide businesses in Colorado Springs with the opportunity to market themselves through the “Small Business Spotlight” at one of 30 Sky Sox home games. The selected businesses for the game will receive a tremendous marketing package provided free of charge by CenturyLink that includes:

  1. A table in the main concourse to showcase their organization
  2. Four tickets to the game and one parking pass
  3. Public address announcement and live in-game scoreboard recognition
  4. A ceremonial first pitch
  5. On-air recognition during the Sky Sox broadcast on AM 1300 “The Animal”

Sky Sox & Domino’s Announce 4th Year Of Charity Spotlight

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox are proud to announce that they will once again be partnering with Domino’s to showcase local charities. The joint venture, named the “Charity Spotlight”, is designed to help charities in the Colorado Springs area and after tremendous success over the last three seasons the two organizations are excited to bring the program back for another year. In the current economic environment, many charities are working harder than ever to meet budgets to support the ever increasing demand for their services. Domino’s will again provide these charities with an opportunity to market themselves and raise awareness for their causes at Security Service Field during the Sky Sox 2016 season free of charge.

New England Federal Credit Union And Lake Monsters Team Up For CHAMP Sightings

BURLINGTON, VT — New England Federal Credit Union and the Vermont Lake Monsters will once again be teaming up this year to actively support the community by offering free CHAMP appearances (called “CHAMP Sightings”) to non-profit organizations and other programs that share their commitment to enhancing the well being of the local communities.

“Whether it is at the ballpark or out in the community, CHAMP stands for so many positive things,” said Nate Cloutier, Lake Monsters’ Executive Director – Sales & Marketing. “He creates smiles and memories, and it is such a joy to work with New England Federal Credit Union on bringing CHAMP in to the community to enhance these local events. To see CHAMP at awareness walks or at the hospital, and see the smile and hear the laughter is priceless.”

This partnership between New England Federal Credit Union and the Lake Monsters will give certain organizations and programs the opportunity to have CHAMP make an appearance at their event for no charge.

Organizations and programs interested in participating in the “CHAMP Sightings” program, and having CHAMP attend their event for free must submit a formal application that can be downloaded from CHAMP Sightings page on the CHAMP section of website. Please note that depending on the event location, travel costs may apply. Interested parties should submit their application as soon as possible, as appearances are limited.

“CHAMP makes events fun while helping to draw attention to worthwhile causes that are important to our community,” said Cindy Morgan, Senior Marketing Executive at NEFCU. “We’re delighted to support the Lake Monsters, and we encourage all non-profits and other programs that qualify to apply for a free CHAMP Sighting at their 2015 event.”

Five Guys Team Up With Lake Monsters For Annual “May Days” Fundraising Campaign

BURLINGTON, VT — The Vermont Lake Monsters are excited to announce Five Guys as a partner for their annual May Days fundraiser to benefit non-profits from across the state of Vermont. “Five Guys May Days” fundraiser will launch May 1st as a month-long program devoted to helping raise funds and awareness for state wide non-profits.

Support of local non-profits has demonstrated the strong commitment both the Lake Monsters and Five Guys have to the greater Burlington community. The goal of this program is not only to provide the opportunity for organizations to raise money, but also raise awareness for their programs while providing a chance for supporters to come together at the ballpark.

COTS is just one of the many local non-profits who has benefited from participating in Five Guys May Days and will continue the tradition this year. “COTS very much appreciates the support we receive from our local community, and the Lake Monsters fundraiser is a great example of how we can work together to raise awareness about homelessness in Vermont” said COTS Executive Director Rita Markley.

Participating non-profits will have the entire month of May to promote and sell $6 Lake Monsters tickets through a specific URL link designated to their organization for a specific game during the season. After the month of May is completed, the Lake Monsters will donate half of the proceeds back to the organization. Following the selling period, Five Guys will donate up to $500 to match the amount raised by the highest selling non-profit in the program. Organizations will then be recognized on field with a check presentation at a Lake Monsters game this season. This opportunity is an easy way to fundraiser for non-profits, simply by reaching out to your employees, supporters, volunteers, and sponsors with the URL link. MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (APRIL 6, 2015) – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, are pleased to announce that TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, will return as a partner in the Pelicans TD Bank Community Corner program for the 2015 regular season. Joining TD Bank this season is Sparks Toyota. The two organizations will provide approximately 1,750 tickets to local non-profit organizations in Horry and Georgetown counties.

The Community Corner program enters its fifth season, and this year, tickets will be provided for all 70 Pelicans home games. Each night, a non-profit organization will receive 25 tickets as part of the expanded program.

The groups will enjoy a unique night out at TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark with tickets in the reserved box seating area. The group will have the name of their organization appear on the video board during the game as well.

Great-Lakes-LoonsThe Great Lakes Loons and Saginaw Valley State University are pleased to present the “Community Organization of the Night” promotion for the 2015 season at Dow Diamond.

Sponsored by SVSU, the “Community Organization of the Night” will give non-profit groups the opportunity to win up to $1,500, while also spotlighting their organization at a Loons home game and through various media.

Non-profit organizations wishing to participate can do so by purchasing a minimum of 20 tickets to their scheduled game. Each organization will get a skirted table set up on the concourse to display information about their group, radio mention on ESPN 100.9-FM, and a Dow Diamond public address and video board announcement.

Helping to drive traffic to the group’s table will be an entry form box in which fans can enter a drawing to win an iPad Mini, courtesy of SVSU.

The organization which sells the most tickets to a Loons game during the season will receive $1,000. Organizations that purchase the minimum of 20 tickets are also automatically entered into an end-of-season raffle to win an additional $500.

Community Organization of the Game Program Returns

Scranton-W-B-RailRiders-logoOne of the signature pieces of community outreach for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) is back and better than ever. The Community Organization of the Game program, presented by the Greater Scranton YMCA, is looking for NEPA community groups that wish to spread their word to the masses during the 2015 season.

YMCA-logo-red&orange“The Greater Scranton YMCA is so excited to serve as the Community Organization of the Game sponsor for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ 2015 season,” said Greater Scranton YMCA mission advancement and marketing director Meghan Davis. “At the Y, our focus areas are youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We believe our partnership with the RailRiders, an organization dedicated to our community, will allow us to give back and serve our community in an even greater capacity.”

A total of 72 non-profit groups, one for each home game, will receive a tip of the cap and more throughout the 2015 campaign. The groups chosen will own a prime spot on the front porch of NEPA. In addition to receiving four free field reserve seats, the group will also have a concourse table allowing them to pass out information on their organization and cause. Beyond that personal face-to-face time, each group will have a live pre-game interview on the field that will be shown to all in attendance on PNC Field’s state-of-the-art video board. The message will be further disseminated with a live in-game interview on the RailRiders’ radio broadcast.

The Community Organization of the Game receives other perks like a ceremonial first pitch, their logo getting some time to shine on the video board and most of all, the chance to interact with the very folks they touch with their efforts.

“We are honored to highlight the great organizations that benefit our community,” said RailRiders interim GM Jeremy Ruby. “These people and their organizations do so much. If we can help get their message out in any way, we are humbly glad to do so.”

Kannapolis-IntimidatorsThe Kannapolis Intimidators have teamed up with ACN Inc. to once again host Charity Spotlight Nights during the 2015 season to give local non-profit organizations a larger platform to raise money and awareness for their cause. Organizations can apply through the team website or by calling the front office at (704) 932-3267. Groups interested in applying are encouraged to do so now as consideration will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. ACN Charity Spotlight Nights will be on five Friday nights during the 2015 season: April 17, May 1, May 23, June 26, and July 31.

Up to four area non-profits will be able to set up an information table on the stadium concourse to promote their cause to fans on each ACN Charity Spotlight Night. Organizations will also receive vouchers for discounted tickets to distribute to supporters throughout the community. The Intimidators will donate 50% of proceeds from these vouchers to the organizations. During each ACN Charity Spotlight Night, the Intimidators will also recognize that night’s spotlighted non-profits over the public address and on the scoreboard.

Non-profits invited for Community Org program

Lexington-Legends-2013The Lexington Legends are inviting non-profit organizations to participate in their Community Organization of the Night program during the 2015 season.

The Community Organization program, sponsored for 2015 by Dean Dorton, offers non-profits a variety of opportunities to publicize their work at Whitaker Bank Ballpark and on Legends radio broadcasts during each of the Legends’ 70 home games.   Hundreds of organizations throughout central and eastern Kentucky have participated.

“Community involvement has been important to the Legends since day one,” said Legends’ President/COO Andy Shea. “Our Community Organization of the Night program allows us to put the spotlight on the great work being done by many organizations throughout Kentucky, and we’re very happy to help get their message out.”

On their night at the ballpark, organizations may set up a display on the concourse, where they can greet fans and distribute information. Before the game, a representative of each Community Organization of the Night is interviewed on the public address system.   The representative also is a guest on the radio broadcast for a half-inning during the game.   Each organization receives four complimentary tickets to their game.

Solicitation is not permitted, but there is a fund-raising element in the program. To maximize exposure and to boost fund-raising, organizations that reserve their night for a Thursday, Friday or Saturday game will purchase a minimum of 60 Legends fundraiser tickets at four dollars each. Fundraiser tickets may then be sold by the organization for up to the regular face value of 10 dollars, allowing the organization to raise up to six dollars per ticket sold.

“Also, the more tickets sold, the more supporters each organization will have at the game,” said Sarah Bosso, the Legends director of community relations and special events.   “It’s fun for everyone involved, and it’s always for a great cause.”

Omaha-Storm-Chasers-2014The Omaha Storm Chasers finished the 2014 season in spectacular fashion, winning the Triple-A National Championship in back-to-back seasons for the first time in franchise history, but it was also a record-setting year for the Chasers community involvement. The charitable arm of the team, the Home Run Foundation of Greater Omaha, donated $558,733 to local charities in the past year for the largest total since becoming the Storm Chasers.

Home-Run-Foundation-of-Omaha-logo“The first four years at Werner Park have been nothing but historic on the field, but what the Storm Chasers staff takes the most pride in is the impact we have in the community we call home,” said Martie Cordaro, President and General Manager of the Omaha Storm Chasers. “To set total donation records in back-to-back years is as great of a victory as back-to-back National Championships in my eyes.”

At Werner Park, the Storm Chasers showcased 78 non-profit groups throughout the 2014 season with the Live Wise Coalition Community Organization of the Night to provide the outlet for many worthwhile causes in the Omaha Metro. This included Game Worn Jersey Auctions, which raised $14,640 for three local charities, and a highlight of Werner Park involvement with fans and staff donating more than $3,000 and 630 items to Pilger Tornado Relief over two games in late June.

Heartland-Hope-Mission-logoStaples of Omaha Storm Chasers Baseball, “Hy-Vee Canned Food Sunday” and the “McDonald’s and Huber Automotive Hurl the Pearl” contest, had strong 2014 campaigns. The Heartland Hope Mission received 5,327 canned food donations ($37,289), the most since the move to Werner Park, while “Hurl the Pearl” accumulated $15,311 for the Ronald McDonald House marking a third straight year the team has raised more than $15,000 for the promotion.

Ronald-McDonald-House-Logo-The Storm Chasers players and mascots donated their time to the community with numerous player appearances at places such as Children’s/VA Hospitals. Stormy, Casey, Vortex and the three new mascots Kernel Cobb, Cappy and Sizzle made 335 mascot appearances throughout the year which was up by more than 100 appearances compared to the 2013 season.

The front office staff donated 870 hours throughout the year, including the Storm Chasers helping struggling families during last holiday season in “Drumstick On Wheels” and Chasers FUNdamentals teaching baseball to underprivileged youth this past summer. Last month, Martie Cordaro and the Storm Chasers were named the “Community Partner of the Year” by Community 360.

Dragons Host Human Services Fair Sunday

Dayton-DragonsThe Dayton Dragons will host a Human Services Fair on the plaza outside Fifth Third Field from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 24. The event will help raise awareness about Montgomery County’s Human Services agencies and provide more information about the specific services delivered by the agencies and related non-profits.

Visitors to the Human Services Fair on the plaza (prior to the Dragons game vs. Great Lakes) can browse 30 booths for more information about the work of Children Services; Developmental Disabilities Services; Public Health-Dayton & Montgomery County; and Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) as well as key senior services, the Job Center and selected social services delivered by non-profit agencies.

Montgomery County voters will vote on a Human Services levy this November 4. Based on recommendations by the Human Services Levy Council, Montgomery County Commissioners placed a renewal of an existing Human Services levy plus an increase of 1 mill on the November 4, 2014 ballot. If voters pass the levy request, the owner of a home valued at $100,000 would pay an additional $3 per month.

“For over 50,000 children, families and seniors in communities across Montgomery County, these services are vital,” said County Commissioner Judy Dodge. “We are thankful for the opportunity presented with the Human Services Fair on August 24 to raise awareness with residents and voters about the critical, effective, life-changing services funded by the levy.”

“Right now, displaced workers are getting the valuable help they need at the Job Center and thousands of children are receiving immunizations, counseling or care because of this critical human services funding,” said Montgomery County Commissioner Debbie Lieberman.

“Every service is reviewed regularly by a hard-working local panel, the Human Services Levy Council, that includes independent business leaders, financial experts, and citizen volunteers,” said County Commission President Dan Foley. “We are committed to providing quality services to the most vulnerable in our community.”

Third Annual Peanut Free Night at Werner Park

Hosted by the Omaha Storm Chasers and the Asthma and Allergy Center

Omaha-Storm-Chasers-2014On Tuesday, July 29th, Werner Park will open its gates to fans with peanut allergies who cannot generally attend baseball games and other sporting events. For the entire week leading up to July 29th, Werner Park will be sanitized and cleaned to rid of all peanut dust and allergens. There will be no peanuts, tree nuts, or sunflower seeds sold or present in the stadium. Children involved The-Asthma-and-Allergy-Centerwill have an opportunity to form a “Peanut Free Field of Dreams Team” and run on the field with the players prior to the game. Ticket packages also include first pitch opportunities, a meet and greet with an Omaha Storm Chaser player, and a pre-game parade.

Community Involvement Outside of the Game

  • VA Hospital Player Appearance – Omaha Storm Chasers staff and players will visit the VA Hospital on July 30th at 4101 Woolworth Avenue in Omaha, Nebraska.

Staybridge Suites/Missoula Independent Community Corner Returns

Osprey recognize non-profit organizations in Western Montana

MISSOULA, MONT – The Missoula Osprey announced today that the Staybridge Suites/Missoula Independent Community Corner that recognizes the impact of local non-profits in Western Montana will return for the 2014 season.

For every regular season home game, Staybridge Suites, the Missoula Independent and the Osprey team-up to donate 20 tickets to qualified non-profit organizations.

The tickets can be used by volunteers, sponsors, staff, or those that benefit from the organization’s efforts. Due to the popularity of the program, Community Corner tickets are only available on a first come, first served basis.

“The Community Corner is one of the many great programs we are able to offer to non-profits,” said Osprey Vice President/General Manager Jeff Griffin. “With the help of our corporate partners, we are able to recognize the work of local non-profits in our community. The efforts of these groups are one of the many things that make Missoula such a special place to call home.”

Community Corner requests must be made in writing to Griffin on the non-profit organization’s letterhead by the director of each group. Requests may be mailed to 140 N. Higgins, or e-mailed to jgriffin@missoulaosprey.com.

The 2014 home opener for the Osprey is slated for Thursday, June 19 versus the Great Falls Voyagers.

Ticket packages are available for purchase by contacting an Osprey ticket representative at 543-3300, at the MSO Hub Box Office at 140 N. Higgins and on the web at MissoulaOsprey.com.

TD Bank Signs on to Sponsor Pelicans Community Corner Program

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (APRIL 2, 2014) – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are pleased to announce that TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, is partnering with The Myrtle Beach Pelicans to bring the TD Bank Community Corner program during the 2014 regular season.

For a third season, the Community Corner Program will provide nearly 1,000 tickets to local non-profit organizations in Horry and Georgetown counties. For 35 select games during the season, including Opening Night, a non-profit organization will receive 25 tickets as part of the new program.

The groups will enjoy a unique night out at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark with tickets in the reserved box seating area. The group will have the name of their organization appear on the video board during the game as well.
