Armed Forces Night

Tampa, FL – On Saturday, May 16th, the Tampa Yankees will host Armed Forces Night sponsored by Bill Currie Ford. The Tampa Yankees will be playing the Brevard County Manatees in a double header at 5:00PM. The gates at Steinbrenner Field will open promptly at 4:00PM.

For Armed Forces Night, the Tampa Yankees invite all active and retired military personnel to enjoy the game for free if they bring their military I.D to the box office. There will also be a promotion for discounted Family-4-Packs for military families for $25 dollars. The 4-pack includes 4 reserved tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 bags of chips, 4 sodas, 4 Tampa Yankees ball caps, and 2 passes to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.

The Tampa Yankees have also teamed up with Cell Phones for Soldiers in hopes to collect old gently used cell phones from fans that will later be turned into calling cards for soldiers to use overseas. The box to donate these cell phones will be out on the concourse of Steinbrenner Field by Customer Service.

Children 14 and under are invited to run the bases from 4-4:15PM and players will be signing autographs on the concourse from 4:10-4:30PM. There will be a fireworks display after the game sponsored by Bright House Networks.

Individual game tickets can be purchased at the George M. Steinbrenner Box Office. Tickets start at just $4 for general admission, $6 for reserved seating and parking is always free.

Pride Center of WNY partners with Bisons for ‘Out at the Ballpark’ night, July 16

The Pride Center of Western New York and the Buffalo Bisons have announced Out At The Ballpark, an evening of professional baseball celebrating the vibrancy of Western New York’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer Community, for Thursday July 16 during the team’s game versus the Columbus Clippers at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.).

The event marks the first time a professional sporting organization in Western New York has created an official event for the LGBTQ community. Founder of the Queen City Softball League Doug Scheidt will throw the game’s ceremonial first pitch while the national anthems will be sung by out actor Marc Sacco, recipient of the 2008 Artvoice Theater Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical. The evening will also feature entertainment and trivia by and for the LGBTQ community.

The Coca-Cola Field centerfield pavilion area will also open at 5:00 p.m. and feature live music and food and beverage specials from 5:00 p.m. to first pitch.

Fans can purchase a specially-priced $12 reserved seat ticket to Out at the Ballpark night by contacting Rob Kates at the Buffalo Bisons at (716) 846-2032 or rkates@bisons.com. Proceeds of advanced ticket sales will benefit the Pride Center of Western New York and their efforts to promote and celebrate the area’s LGBTQ community. The Bisons will also be selling ‘Out at the Ballpark’ game tickets at the Pride Festival on Sunday, June 7.

“The Buffalo Bisons approached us a few months back expressing their interest in creating an event that would celebrate our community,” said Matthew Crehan Higgins, Senior Director of The Pride Center of WNY. “Immediately it felt like something a little different and unexpected, and certainly whenever we have mentioned it to someone they smile right away.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to throw the first pitch and proud of the success of the Queen City Softball League, which has been playing every summer since 1993,” Sheidt said. “At the time, we were eight teams, mostly gay and lesbian players, and mostly at a recreational level. I never would have imagined that 23 seasons later we would still be playing, sharing the field with a lot more straight allies, and playing at a variety of levels, from recreational to competitive. It’s been great fun and I think a contribution to the social and athletic landscape of the city of Buffalo.”

The Pride Center of Western New York, Inc. (PWNY) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to work with the community to make Western New York a safe, healthy, and satisfying place for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people to live, work and establish their families.

SALT LAKE CITY (April 28, 2015) – The Salt Lake Bees will host their ninth annual “Pack the Park Pink Night” at Smith’s Ballpark on Saturday, May 9 in collaboration with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF) and Swing for Life, in an effort to raise funds for breast cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. This night is part of the club’s year-round community outreach initiatives that support health and wellness, education and youth development.

“Huntsman Cancer Foundation is very grateful to the Bees organization and Miller Sports Properties,” said George Mathis, Development Officer at Huntsman Cancer Foundation. “We are honored to invite the community to be a part of Huntsman Cancer Institute’s efforts to eradicate cancer. What could be better than a night at the beautiful ballpark with your family while supporting cancer research?”

Fans attending the Bees game will be encouraged to help “Pack the Park Pink” by wearing the color pink and anyone wearing pink can go to the box office the day of the game to receive a $3 discount on tickets. During the game, Swing for Life will have pink t-shirts available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting HCF.

The team will be wearing commemorative caps featuring a pink Bees logo and jerseys with pink lettering, which will be auctioned off in a silent auction. The highest bidders will have the opportunity to meet Bees players on the field after the game for photograph opportunities while collecting their player-autographed jerseys. All of the proceeds from the auction will benefit cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

One dollar from all ticket sales for that night’s game will go to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. Tickets can be purchased at Smith’s Ballpark box office, at all Smith’sTix outlets and Smith’s Food & Drug Stores, by phone at 801-325-BEES (2337) or online at www.slbees.com, with no additional fees.

Gates open at 5:35 p.m. with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. against the Reno Aces. The first 2,000 fans attending that night’s game will receive a free pink shirt and there will be a fireworks show at the conclusion of the game.

Kay Yow Cancer Fund to join Mudcats for “Strikeout Cancer Weekend”

ZEBULON, NC – The Carolina Mudcats, the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and member of the historic Carolina League, are proud to announce the Kay Yow Cancer Fund as an official partner of the “Strikeout Cancer Weekend” event being held at Five County Stadium on May 15, 16 and 17 when the Mudcats play the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund will be the official charity for Friday’s May 15 game in Zebulon at 7:00 p.m. Fans wishing to attend the game and support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund can purchase specially priced tickets through the Mudcats front office. A portion of those ticket sales will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Contact Yogi Brewington or Aaron Freeman in the Mudcats front office for more information at (919) 269-2287.

Additionally, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will be on hand at Friday’s game (May 15) with an information booth available for fans. Representatives from the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will also participate in pregame on field ceremonies.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund was officially founded on December 3, 2007, from the vision of the organization’s namesake Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women’s basketball coach.

Kay Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, and passed away on January 24, 2009, after facing her third bout with the disease. Before her death, she joined forces with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation for Cancer Research to form the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

“Strikeout Cancer Weekend” at Five County stadium will take place May 15, 16 and 17 when the Mudcats play the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. All of the proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to local cancer-fighting charities including the “Kay Yow Cancer Fund,” the “Vs. Cancer Foundation” and “Ed Randall’s Fans for the Cure.”

The Carolina Mudcats are the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The 2015 “Braves New World” season is the first for the Mudcats as an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and their fourth straight in the historic Carolina League. Five Guys Team Up With Lake Monsters For Annual “May Days” Fundraising Campaign

BURLINGTON, VT — The Vermont Lake Monsters are excited to announce Five Guys as a partner for their annual May Days fundraiser to benefit non-profits from across the state of Vermont. “Five Guys May Days” fundraiser will launch May 1st as a month-long program devoted to helping raise funds and awareness for state wide non-profits.

Support of local non-profits has demonstrated the strong commitment both the Lake Monsters and Five Guys have to the greater Burlington community. The goal of this program is not only to provide the opportunity for organizations to raise money, but also raise awareness for their programs while providing a chance for supporters to come together at the ballpark.

COTS is just one of the many local non-profits who has benefited from participating in Five Guys May Days and will continue the tradition this year. “COTS very much appreciates the support we receive from our local community, and the Lake Monsters fundraiser is a great example of how we can work together to raise awareness about homelessness in Vermont” said COTS Executive Director Rita Markley.

Participating non-profits will have the entire month of May to promote and sell $6 Lake Monsters tickets through a specific URL link designated to their organization for a specific game during the season. After the month of May is completed, the Lake Monsters will donate half of the proceeds back to the organization. Following the selling period, Five Guys will donate up to $500 to match the amount raised by the highest selling non-profit in the program. SALT LAKE CITY (April 27, 2015)– The Salt Lake Bees will host their second annual Teacher Appreciation Night on Tuesday, May 5 when the Bees take on the Tacoma Rainiers. Teachers can receive free admission to the game by showing their school I.D. at the box office and can also purchase discounted tickets for family members for just $8.

Teacher Appreciation Night, which is part of the Bees year-round community outreach to support health and wellness, education and youth development, allows the club to honor and thank local educators for their efforts in the classroom. The Bees have an eight-game homestand May 4-11. ‘Recycling Pays’ Nights at The Pfitz to Demonstrate Importance of Recycling

Potomac-NationalsThe Potomac Nationals are excited to announce a pair of “Recycling Pays” nights at Pfitzner Stadium sponsored by the Prince William County Recycling Program. The first recycling appreciation night is scheduled for Friday, July 18th as the Nationals take on the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Kansas City Royals), and the second evening in which recycling will be in the spotlight is Friday, August 15th in a P-Nats contest against the Carolina Mudcats (Cleveland Indians).

P-Nats fans will get the opportunity to save money and the environment with these events thanks to Prince William County Solid Waste Division’s Recycling Program. All fans who show up to the Potomac Nationals Ticket Office on each game day with recyclables in hand will receive half-off general admission tickets. In addition, everyone who tweets or posts to Facebook a picture of themselves recycling inside the ballpark during the July 18th game will receive a ticket to the second recycling night on August 15th.

On August 15th, the P-Nats’ faithful may also bring recyclables to receive 50% off GA tickets for that evening’s game and can tweet or post to Facebook the act of recycling at The Pfitz to receive an undated ticket voucher for the 2015 season.

Express to Host Military Appreciation Night

E-Train to Honor All Branches of Military during Express Game

Round-Rock-Express-2014On Thursday, July 17, the Round Rock Express will honor and support the brave men and women that serve or have previously served in the United States Armed Forces by hosting Military Appreciation Night at Dell Diamond, presented by Budweiser and USAA.

There will be special military-themed promotions and recognitions throughout the evening as the E-Train takes on the Iowa Cubs. Military vehicles will be on display outside of Dell Diamond for fans to observe as they enter the stadium.

Two generations of heroes will be involved in the night’s ceremonial first pitch. A veteran of World War 2, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, Rufus Dye Jr. will be joined by his son Colonel Michael Dye. Michael currently serves in the Texas Army National Guard as the Director of Army Aviation for Joint Forces Headquarters.

Joining the Express on the field for the National Anthem are the children of troops deployed from the 3rd Calvary Regiment out of Fort Hood. The Anthem will be performed by country music artist Jenna McDaniel.

Wish-For-Our-HerosDuring the game, each branch of the military – Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard – will be recognized individually along with a Marine Corps swearing-in ceremony. Silver Star recipient SSG Matthew Kinney, Gold Star Mother Tami Sims and SGT Travis King, who is scheduled to deploy in the coming weeks, will be among those honored during the game. Express players and coaches will wear commemorative patriotic jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game with proceeds going to WISH for OUR HEROES. Additionally, there will be a wish granted during the game in conjunction with the Wish for Our Heroes initiative.

For the seventh-inning stretch, country music artist and songwriter Ryland Edwards will be on hand to sing “God Bless America”.

All military personnel receive half-price tickets to all Express games by presenting their military ID.

Connecticut-Tigers-2014The Connecticut Tigers, in partnership with the Better Business Bureau, announce the 2014 Connecticut Military All-Stars promotion in conjunction with the annual Military Appreciation Night.

For the second consecutive year, the Better Business Bureau Military Line will be the presenting sponsor of Military Appreciation Night on Friday, August 8th. The Tigers and Better Business Bureau have teamed up with The Day to help recognize nine individuals for their service on that night.

A panel of community judges will select the nine nominees they feel best fit the spirit of the promotion to be honored on the field prior to the game on August 8th. In addition, those selected will be part of a commemorative Connecticut Military All-Stars baseball card set given away to the first 1,000 fans through the gates that night courtesy of the Better Business Bureau Military Line.

All current and former military will receive a reserved ticket and a food voucher redeemable for a hot dog, bag of chips, and non-alcoholic bottle beverage for just $7 when showing their military ID at the Dodd Stadium box office on August 8th. In addition, the Tigers will be wearing special “stars and stripes” uniform tops that will be auctioned off during the game on the concourse. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the jerseys in a silent auction. The proceeds from that auction will go towards a scholarship for a deserving military family to help offset the cost of college tuition through the Better Business Bureau Military Line.

There is also a $2 discount off Premium, Reserved, and Grandstand tickets with a military ID at the Dodd Stadium box office for all Connecticut Tigers games.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. The 2014 home schedule begins Wednesday, June 18th against the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox affiliate) with fireworks after the game presented by US Foods! 2014 season tickets, mini plans, individual game tickets, and team merchandise are now on sale! Pelicans team up with HTC and Backpack Buddies

Partnership renewed to bring much-needed essentials to underprivileged youth

Myrtle-Beach-PelicansThe Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are working with HTC for a second straight season to bring Backpack Buddies Monday to TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. The program invites fans to bring certain essentials to the ballpark for donation on Monday home games. Those donating will receive half-price admission on their Monday game ticket.

Starting in 2004, the Backpack Buddies program aims to provide schools with nutritious, child-friendly, self-serve food designed to put in a backpack and feed a child over the weekend. The program began with a pilot program of approximately 300 children. Now, a decade later, the program provides over 1,500 meals a week across Horry County.

The Pelicans are pleased to bring back the program after a successful first year with a valued partner in HTC. To participate, fans can bring the following items to Monday night home games for half-priced admission: powdered drink mix, Ramen Noodles, Pop Tarts, individual servings of pudding, individual servings of apple sauce, fruit cups, jelly (plastic container), peanut butter (small jars), Beanie Weenies, Vienna Sausage, canned meats, cereal, raviolis (pop-top cans), mac and cheese, snack crackers, chicken noodle soup (pop top cans), and unopened containers of mustard, ketchup, and mayo.

Help-4-Kids“The Help 4 Kids organization that runs Backpack Buddies is an incredible group and we’re honored to help them in their fight to ensure that the 2400+ local children have the food and nourishment the kids need,” remarked Pelicans Vice President and General Manager Andy Milovich. “Barb Mains and her staff give these kids a chance to succeed in the classroom and life. She’s a true hero and we’re fortunate to be in a position to assist her in helping kids throughout our community.”

In 2013 the Pelicans raised nearly $400,000 for various local charities. The Backpack Buddies program saw over $9,400 of those funds. This year the Pelicans have set a goal of raising $500,000 total for local charities and $10,000 for Backpack Buddies

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (JUNE 28, 2013) – On Thursday, July 11, the Winston-Salem Dash will hold an Armed Forces Night at BB&T Ballpark to honor those who are currently serving or have served in any branch of the military.

The Dash have planned many events for Armed Forces Night, including members of the military taking the field with the Dash prior to the game. There will also be a mock induction ceremony on the field and a salute to the armed forces.

In conjunction with this special event, the Dash are offering special discounted tickets to those who have served in the armed forces. Regular $10 seats will be available for the price of $7 with a military ID. There will also be a special group outing package for groups of 20 or more. Along with the tickets, this package will include recognition on the left field LED board and game programs for just $10 per ticket.

June 13: Pelicans to hold “Book Drive”

Donations to benefit Moore, Okla., library

This Thursday, June 13, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans will be holding a Book Drive at TicketReturn.com Field. The Pelicans will collect books to donate to the library at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, Okla. The school was destroyed by a tornado on May 20 and needs books to replenish its library. Fans who bring in slightly used or new books for donation will receive half price admission.

CORPUS CHRISTI – For 10 years, the Peace Tree Project of South Texas has been providing Community Embraces and planting live trees in honor of South Texas’ fallen service members.

On Thursday, June 27, the organization will be honored by the Corpus Christi Hooks as Salute to the Military Night unfolds at Whataburger Field. On that evening in pregame ceremonies, the Peace Tree Project retires its shovels and fans raise a prayer and a wish for the safe return of all service members in 2014.

“The men and women in our Armed Forces and their families demonstrate sacrificial love for our nation each and every day,” Hooks VP/general manager Michael Wood said. “It’s important for us to show our appreciation to them and the Peace Tree Project. ‘Raising A Prayer and A Wish’ enables all of us to come together as a community and recognize true patriots.”

“If your loved one answered the highest calling of service to our country by giving his or her life in Iraq or Afghanistan, we want to hear from you,” Peace Tree Project founder Norma Jean Sierra said. Sierra added that submitted names and photographs will be displayed on the Whataburger Field video board.

The Hooks are offering special reserved-seat ticket pricing on the 27th for active duty military and all who’ve honorably served, plus their immediate family members. Corpus Christi entertains the Springfield Cardinals that night at 7:05 and gates open at 5:30.

Redbirds To Unveil Military POW/MIA Seat

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone have partnered to create the AutoZone Military Seating and a distinct Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) black seat at AutoZone Park to honor past and present United States military servicemembers.

“It is an honor to be able to recognize our military members and veterans, as well as bring awareness to the POW/MIA cause,” said AutoZone Vice President and Redbirds Foundation chairman Ray Pohlman.

The AutoZone Military Section will contain 26 seats in the first three rows of section 106 adjacent to the Redbirds home dugout along the third base line. Seat one in row A of that section will be wrapped in black with the official POW/MIA logo on the seat with the writing “Reserved In Memoriam.” That seat will not be available for purchase and remain empty.

Military personnel will receive 50% off seats located in the AutoZone Military Seating every game this season by presenting a valid military ID at the Redbirds box office.

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the 25th and final combat mission of the World War II B-17 bomber, the Memphis Belle, the Redbirds are giving away 2,000 Memphis Belle T-shirts on Veteran’s Appreciation Night on this Saturday, May 25. Military personnel can receive discounted tickets for that night by calling (901) 722-0251. Fans can stay after the game to enjoy the first of two fireworks extravaganzas of the homestand set to music from the Big Band Era.

Fans can celebrate Memorial Day and enjoy a matinee game with a ticket and buffet pack as the Redbirds take on the Round Rock Express at 1:05 p.m. on Monday, May 27 at AutoZone Park.
