Shorebirds Present Toy Donation To Brooke’s Toy Closet

SALISBURY, MD – The Delmarva Shorebirds are proud to announce in conjunction with partners at Market Street Inn, Mojo’s, and the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, the results of the Brooke’s Toy Closet Toy Drive, held on July 23rd at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

In total, 151 items were donated by Shorebirds fans, with the Shorebirds presenting the donation to Brooke’s Toy Closet at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center recently, along with members from Market Street Inn, Mojo’s, and the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation, which oversees and maintains Brooke’s Toy Closet.

Toy Donations ranged from activity books, to stuffed animals, to interactive toys. All these items will be extremely beneficial to replenishing Brooke’s Toy Closet, and very much appreciated from members of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation and staff from the Emergency Department and Pediatrics Unit.

“This was a fantastic partnership with Market Street Inn, Mojo’s, PRMC, and the Shorebirds. All parties were extremely excited with the results.” said Shorebirds Director of Community Relations Eric Sichau. “We appreciate the support from the local community and Shorebirds fans, and encourage those to donate to the Toy Closet year round to keep it replenished.” “We look forward to continuing the Toy Drive during the 2017 Season!”

Brooke’s Toy Closet was started in 2014 by Brooke Mulford, a local girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer, in 2009, when she was 4 years old. The closet is a special cabinet filled with toys, coloring books and other goodies that PRMC’s Emergency Department and Pediatrics Unit can give to children who are hospitalized. The recipients of these gifts will be able to use them when they’re in the hospital, and take them home to enjoy when they are feeling better. Tampa Yankees to “Play4theCure” on Fan Appreciation Night

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Yankees will host their annual Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, August 27th. The Yankees are scheduled to play the Brevard County Manatees at 6:00 p.m. Fans are welcome to enjoy a night full of prizes and fun as the 2016 season comes to an end. The night will conclude with a postgame fireworks show, presented by Sonny’s BBQ.

Play4TheCure and Minor League Baseball are teaming up for the second year in a row to raise funds for the National Foundation for Cancer Research. Proceeds from a 50/50 raffle, along with other fan games, will benefit cancer research. Players and fans will receive “I Play 4 ___” signs and are encouraged to fill them out to be recognized on the video board during the game.

“Play4TheCure inspires young athletes and their teams to leverage their passion for sports to “Play4″ loved ones affected by cancer and encourages them to actively participate in working to fund cancer research to make a difference.” – NFCR.org

In addition, August 27th will also be the final “Salute to Service Members Saturday” of the season. All military receive a FREE upper reserved ticket with valid I.D. Kids run the bases before the game from 5-5:15 p.m. and receive player autographs on the concourse from 5:10-5:30 p.m. **Ticket special can ONLY be redeemed at the George M. Steinbrenner Field Box Office.

Portland, Maine– The Portland Sea Dogs in conjunction with the Maine Track Club and Intermed, will be hosting the 15th annual Mother’s Day 5K Road Race on Sunday, May 10th at 9:15am. Proceeds from the event will benefit Maine breast cancer patients and research with the funds being split between the Cancer Community Center and the Maine Cancer Foundation. There will also be a Kid’s Run, presented by Maine Running, beginning at 8:30am that is free of charge.

The Portland Sea Dogs Mother’s Day 5K is the largest 5K road race in the State of Maine. It is also the second largest road race in the state, only the Beach to Beacon is larger. A capped field of 3,000 runners is once again expected for this year’s race.

In the previous 14 years of the event, the Sea Dogs have been able to donate over $189,507.00 to support breast cancer research and patients in Maine including $20,000.00 from last year’s race.

Slugger and his Mom lead the way on the flat 5K course which begins in front of the Portland Expo building, travels down Congress Street, turning down Stevens Avenue, and making a right onto Brighton Avenue back down Deering Avenue into Fitzpatrick Stadium. The race culminates with a unique finish inside Hadlock Field in front of the third base dugout. The course is USAT&F certified and is part of the USAT&F Sanctioned Grand Prix series.

The top overall male and female finishers will receive a trophy, a pair of 2015 Season Tickets for the remainder of the 2015 Sea Dogs season, and throw out the ceremonial first-pitch prior to a future Sea Dogs game. The top three male and female finishers in each age group will also be presented with awards. All participants of the race will receive a complimentary ticket to attend a future Sea Dogs game.

The race is open to the public. Walkers and wheelchair racers are welcome as well. A limited number of spots are still available. Registration is $20.00. The kid’s race is free. If you would like to run in the 15th annual Sea Dogs’ Mother’s Day 5K you may register online at www.seadogs.com or at Fleet Feet Maine Running located on Marginal Way in Portland on Friday, May 8th from Noon to 6:00 PM or Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Road Closures:
Park Avenue from Weymouth Street to Saint John Street will be closed to traffic from 8:50 AM to 9:15 AM on Sunday, May 10th.

SALT LAKE CITY (April 28, 2015) – The Salt Lake Bees will host their ninth annual “Pack the Park Pink Night” at Smith’s Ballpark on Saturday, May 9 in collaboration with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF) and Swing for Life, in an effort to raise funds for breast cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. This night is part of the club’s year-round community outreach initiatives that support health and wellness, education and youth development.

“Huntsman Cancer Foundation is very grateful to the Bees organization and Miller Sports Properties,” said George Mathis, Development Officer at Huntsman Cancer Foundation. “We are honored to invite the community to be a part of Huntsman Cancer Institute’s efforts to eradicate cancer. What could be better than a night at the beautiful ballpark with your family while supporting cancer research?”

Fans attending the Bees game will be encouraged to help “Pack the Park Pink” by wearing the color pink and anyone wearing pink can go to the box office the day of the game to receive a $3 discount on tickets. During the game, Swing for Life will have pink t-shirts available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting HCF.

The team will be wearing commemorative caps featuring a pink Bees logo and jerseys with pink lettering, which will be auctioned off in a silent auction. The highest bidders will have the opportunity to meet Bees players on the field after the game for photograph opportunities while collecting their player-autographed jerseys. All of the proceeds from the auction will benefit cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

One dollar from all ticket sales for that night’s game will go to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. Tickets can be purchased at Smith’s Ballpark box office, at all Smith’sTix outlets and Smith’s Food & Drug Stores, by phone at 801-325-BEES (2337) or online at www.slbees.com, with no additional fees.

Gates open at 5:35 p.m. with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. against the Reno Aces. The first 2,000 fans attending that night’s game will receive a free pink shirt and there will be a fireworks show at the conclusion of the game.

The Scrappers Host “POPS at the Ballpark” Featuring the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra are excited to host one of the Valley’s premiere summer events, POPS at the Ballpark, presented by the Chevy All-Stars and 21 WFMJ on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Eastwood Field. The Scrappers have partnered with Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley for this year’s concert with $2.00 being donated back to the hospital with each full price ticket purchased.

The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra will perform a selection from their repertoire which will culminate in a spectacular fireworks finale synched to Star Wars Main Titles and Stars and Stripes Forever. FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Grizzlies are allowing fans to pay whatever they want for any available seat to their Wednesday, April 15th home game that begins at 6:35 p.m. The promotion, called Good Karma Night, has the Grizzlies donating half of the proceeds from each ticket purchased to Valley Children’s Hospital. Fans can choose their own price point at the Chukchansi Park Box Office or by calling 559.320.TIXS. If a fan wants to purchase tickets for the game online, there are three price points listed for each available seating section.

            The unique promotion also has the Grizzlies adding an additional player to the roster. Jackson Standifer, 12, is a Valley Children’s patient who recovered from Burkitt’s Stage-4 Lymphoma this past January and signed a one-day contract with the team last week. Standifer is expected to enter the ballpark at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, head to the Grizzlies clubhouse, take the field with the team for warmups, and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Barons, Children’s of Alabama Host Superhero Night

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Barons are partnering with Children’s of Alabama Friday, April 24 to bring Superhero Night to Regions Field. The Barons will wear superhero-themed jerseys to be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting ill and injured children treated at the state’s only freestanding hospital.

“This will be a fun, exciting night for such a great cause,” Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson said. “Visible just beyond the right field wall, Children’s of Alabama is such an important part of our city, and it is always very fulfilling to give back. We will have a few patients at the game, but even those who can’t make it can still enjoy the fireworks from just a couple of blocks away.”

Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero, and a special fireworks show set to the theme music of superhero movies is to follow. The Barons also welcome many specials guests with representatives from Children’s to serve as honorary bat boy, throw out the first pitch and cue the start of the game by yelling “play ball!”

Artist Patrick Giles will also be on-hand to entertain fans on the concourse. Fans have the opportunity to purchase original comic sketches and have themselves drawn as superheroes by Patrick, whose resume includes work with Topps, Upper Deck and Conan O’Brien. His recent projects include creating trading cards featuring characters from Star Wars, Batman, X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The jersey auction is also set to take place on the concourse throughout the game as a silent auction. After the game, jerseys will be signed by the player and awarded to the highest bidder.

“Children’s of Alabama is thrilled to partner with the Birmingham Barons for Superhero Night,” Children’s Coordinator of Community Development Shane Autrey said. “We think this theme is ideally suited for the families we treat right down the street from Regions Field, because all of our patients are superheroes to us.”

Kela Robinson Celebrates “Home Run For Life” Opening Night with the OKC Dodgers

Young Mother is First Oklahoman to Benefit from New INTEGRIS ECMO Life Support Program

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Dodgers and INTEGRIS Health proudly begin the 2015 “Home Run for Life” series on Opening Night Thursday, April 9 during the Dodgers’ game against the Round Rock Express at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers and INTEGRIS will recognize Shaquile “Kela” Robinson, a young mother who became the first patient in the state of Oklahoma to undergo a new specialized life support program at INTEGRIS that utilizes extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

“Home Run For Life” recognizes people in the Oklahoma City area who, with the help of their families, physicians and health care professionals, have overcome a significant medical event. Honorees are recognized during a Dodgers’ game and take a home run “lap” around the bases, symbolizing the end of their battle against adversity.

“We are so pleased to continue the ‘Home Run For Life’ series with our partner INTEGRIS Health,” Dodgers President/General Manager Michael Byrnes said. “Throughout the season, ‘Home Run For Life’ allows us to feature several extraordinary individuals from the local community who summoned a great deal of tenacity and courage to get where they are today.”

Robinson, 21, began experiencing chest pains shortly after the birth of her son in June 2014. Breathing became difficult and she fatigued so easily she was unable to hold her newborn baby.

Doctors soon discovered her heart was working at just 10 percent capacity. Her condition continued to worsen, despite the implantation of a defibrillator. She developed pneumonia and coughed up blood. Her heart and lungs were shutting down and Robinson’s life was in immediate danger.

A newly created specialized life support program at INTEGRIS Health saved the Oklahoma City resident’s life.

INTEGRIS became the first hospital in Oklahoma to establish an ECMO program for adults facing imminent death caused by heart or respiratory failure. Robinson was the first patient to benefit from the INTEGRIS program.

“I had no idea what ECMO was, but I know it saved my life,” Robinson said.

The last-resort lifesaving technique provides both cardiac and respiratory support oxygen to patients whose heart and/or lungs are so severely diseased or damaged they can no longer serve their function, such as after a heart attack, cardio surgery, pulmonary embolism, near drowning or lung-related issues like flu or pneumonia.

ECMO therapy continually pumps blood from the patient via a tube to a membrane oxygenator that imitates the gas exchange process of the lungs, removing carbon dioxide and adding oxygen before returning the blood to the patient.

The therapy aims to allow the heart and lungs to rest and recover while the machine does the work. Once the heart and or lungs have healed, and can function on their own, the support of the ECMO machine is gradually removed.

Doctors told Robinson’s family that if they didn’t try the ECMO therapy, death was the only alternative.

“Given those odds, we chose life,” Robinson’s mom, Kerri Harkey, said.

ECMO technology has traditionally been used to support underdeveloped hearts and lungs in premature babies. Medical adaptations and advancements have led to increased, and extended, adult usage.

Robinson was on the ECMO device for seven days. Once her heart and lungs were strong enough to tolerate the medications she needed to stabilize her condition, she was removed from the therapy. She then received a left ventricular assist device, known as a heart pump.

Kannapolis-IntimidatorsThe Kannapolis Intimidators have teamed up with the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation for the 2015 season to raise money at all 12 Friday home games at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The Intimidators will be selling JGCF wristbands at the ballpark for $5, and each wristband comes with a voucher for a free Pepsi product at the concessions stand ($3 value).

The mission of the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation is to support children battling cancer by funding programs that improve patients’ quality of life, treatment prograJeff-Gordons-Children-Foundationms that increase survivorship and pediatric medical research dedicated to finding a cure. In addition, the Foundation provides support to the Jeff Gordon’s Children’s Hospital in Concord, NC, which serves children in the community by providing a high level of primary and specialty care, regardless of their ability to pay.

Granite State Baseball Dinner Donates $142,000

New-Hampshire-Fisher-Cats-logo-2013In the offices of the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Manchester today, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats announced the proceeds from the 2014 Granite State Baseball Dinner, presented by Northeast Delta Dental. Through sponsorship donations, ticket sales, silent and live auctions, and raffle ticket sales, $142,049 was donated to benefit CHaD, the Ted Williams Foundation, and the Fisher Cats Foundation at the annual gala on Nov. 22.

CHaD-Hospital-logo“It is with great pride that our organization gets to host this event and present this check every year,” said Art Solomon, Fisher Cats owner and Chairman of the Fisher Cats Foundation board. “The work of our Foundation is near and dear to my heart, but this event in particular means so much because of the impact it is able to make. We are so thankful for the support of all of the sponsors and fans who continue to make this event so meaningful each year.”

“Each year during the holiday season we are able to make this announcement, and it means so much to our team and our staff,” said Fisher Cats President & General Manager Rick Brenner. “It takes a lot of dedicated people donating a lot of their time and resources to make this event successful, but this announcement and presentation today, and the work of these great charities, is the reward for those efforts. We know these funds will assist these groups with the important and necessary services they provide our communities.”

Since the Fisher Cats became involved with the dinner in 2007, it has generated more than $1.28 million for the three charitable groups. CHaD has received more than $558,000 to support its mission to provide world-class care to families and kids throughout the northeast. The Fisher Cats Foundation has used a similar amount to help fund more than $3.5 million in monetary and in-kind donations since its inception in 2006. The Ted Williams Foundation has been gifted with nearly $173,000 to continue its efforts to promote the history and tradition of baseball while also providing outreach to community groups and scholarships to high school students.

The 2014 dinner featured a unique panel of celebrity guests, including New Hampshire legend and Cy Young Award winner Chris Carpenter. Red Sox star Brock Holt co-headlined the event alongside Carpenter, as well as several popular former Red Sox, including Luis Tiant, Rich Gedman, and Lou Merloni. Other guests with major league connections included Cy Young winners Denny McLain and Dwight ‘Doc’ Gooden, All-Stars Bob Stanley and Gary Matthews, and Claudia Williams, author and daughter of Hall-of-Famer Ted Williams.

Several Granite Staters also featured at the head table, including minor league infielder Michael Fransoso of Portsmouth and pitcher Derrick Sylvester of Franklin. Miss New Hampshire Megan Coolely was joined by 2012 Paralympic gold medalist Victoria Arlen of Exeter.

The dinner tradition will continue in 2015 on Saturday, Nov. 21.

The Fisher Cats will open the 2015 season on Thursday, April 9, at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium against the New Britain Rock Cats (Colorado Rockies). Bandits fulfill $50,000 pledge to Genesis Foundation

Quad-Cities-River-BanditsFulfilling a pledge made for the inaugural season of the Ferris wheel and other amusements at Modern Woodmen Park, the Quad Cities River Bandits and Main Street Amusements on Wednesday presented a $50,000 donation to the Genesis Health Services Foundation. Dave Heller, owner of the River Bandits, presented the check to Ken Croken, Genesis Health System Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Advocacy, during a press conference Wednesday at Modern Woodmen Park.

Genesis-Health-Services-FoundationWith a portion from each of 68,000 rides of the new amusements this season at Modern Woodmen Park – including the 105-foot Ferris wheel, the expanded 300-foot zip line, Space Camp gyroscope and the Mediacom Drop’N Twist – the donation will benefit Genesis Health Services Foundation health initiatives for children, including the Flu-Free Quad Cities campaign, Camp Genesis for kids who have someone close to them with cancer and Genesis Neonatal Intensive Care services to help struggling newborn babies.

“The River Bandits belong to the people of the Quad Cities, and a big part of our mission is to make a positive and lasting impact across this great community,” said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. “When both of my sons were born, they had to spend time in the neo-natal intensive care unit. Fortunately, we were able to afford such care. My hope is that, with this donation, needy families throughout our region will be able to come to Genesis and get the care they need when they need it. We are so grateful for all of the support we receive every day from Quad Cities families and we are delighted to be able to give back in a big way to help others in our community.”

“By their conduct here, the Quad Cities River Bandits and their owner, Mr. Dave Heller, have helped define corporate social responsibility for our community,” said Ken Croken, vice president of corporate communications, Genesis Health System.

On May 24, with an Inaugural Ferris Wheel Ride event and fundraiser, the Quad Cities River Bandits became the first team in Minor League Baseball to open a Ferris wheel inside its ballpark. Towering 105 feet above the playing field, the Ferris wheel was part of the debut for a full lineup of amusements that opened every weekend, including non-game days, for the Quad Cities community to enjoy through November 1. The Ferris wheel was named Monday as the Best Ballpark Improvement in all of baseball for the 2014 season by Ballpark Digest. It followed a year in which Modern Woodmen Park drew its largest average attendance – 3,885 per game – in the history of the 83-year-old ballpark.

“The success and recognition the amusements have brought to this community has been exciting, but it is most gratifying when our success makes such a positive difference in the lives of Quad Cities families in need,” said River Bandits General Manager Andrew Chesser. “This season’s donation to the Genesis Health Services Foundation is another example of the strong partnerships we are blessed to have in the Quad Cities community.”

Fifth Third Field to Host Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Dayton-DragonsFifth Third Field will host the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on Saturday, October 11th. Check-in for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. on October 11. Opening Ceremonies begin at 10:00 a.m. and the walk will start at 10:15 a.m.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. In 2013, more than 42,000 teams participated in nearly 650 walks across the United States, raising more than $55 million. The Walk provides a means for participants to learn more about Alzheimer’s and become involved in the cause.

Walk-to-End-Alzheimers-logoEach walker may participate in a ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s. Walkers will also have the opportunity to have team photographs taken.

A City of Dayton water truck will be on site and walkers may bring a water bottle to refill. Healthy snacks will be available.

Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. One-out-of-three senior citizens dies of Alzheimer’s. More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s.

RailRiders 2014 Community Report

Over $360,000 Given Back to NEPA, 66% Jump from Award-Winning 2013

Scranton-W-B-RailRiders-logoComing together for the greater good. All baseball teams try to accomplish it on the field. In the case of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) – the off-the-field efforts in that same vein added up to a whole lot of good to date in 2014.

Among the highlights:

– Five jersey auctions raised over $20,000 to benefit: Hunt of a Lifetime, IamMore Foundation, Allied Health Services, Fisher House and the Dave Miley HOF Scholarship Fund.

– The debut of the team’s Fit Track program, presented by Odak.

HOPE-Week– Another successful HOPE Week in concert with the rest of the New York Yankees organization.

– An increase in charitable giving from $217,000 to over $360,000 including cash and in-kind gifts.

– Over 550 hours volunteered in the community by full-time staff, players and coaches.

– Over 200 mascot appearances.

– Support of our military with the Metlife Military Appreciation program, Honor Guard program, veterans parade appearances in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, and a players/field staff visit to the Gino Merli Veterans Center.

Boys-&-Girls-club-of-Americ– The RailRiders and Kost Tire and Auto raised $14,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of NEPA with the Hurl the Pearl promotion (up $2,000 from 2013).

-The addition of several other new initiatives including: Breast Cancer Awareness Night which raised $2,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Girl Scouts of NEPA; an Easter Egg Hunt for children with special needs; and special school day themes for including an anti-bullying day and an anti-drug and alcohol day.

Susan-G.-KomenThe RailRiders franchise prides itself on engaging with the community. The signature addition in that regard for 2014 – the Fit Track program. Fit Track’s inaugural year sported over 30 schools in NEPA and over 12,000 children. It encourages children to develop healthy habits during their youth that will transition into adulthood. The Fit Track focuses on three main healthy behaviors: being active for 60 minutes each day; making healthy food choices; and getting at least eight hours of sleep a night. Each enrolled child received a free RailRiders jump rope to aid in their physical activity. Each child that completed the program received a free ticket to one of four RailRiders home games with Fit Trackers honored on the field during the pre-game festivities.

Girl_ScoutsThe Community Organization of the Game program, presented by DePietro’s Pharmacy, came back for its second season. Each of the team’s 72 home games spotlighted a local non-profit/civic organization. That COG had the opportunity to spread its message to every guest through a pre-game on-field interview, a ceremonial first pitch, an on-air radio interview and a concourse table display.

A standard from previous years, the Adopt-A-Field program, renovated four local fields (one high school field; one softball field; two youth fields). Front office staff and grounds crew members spent the entire day at each park cutting the infield, rebuilding pitching mounds, fertilizing/mowing grass, cleaning dugouts and more. The fields were chosen through a contest on the team’s website with fan votes deciding the lucky winners.

As the top affiliate of the New York Yankees, the RailRiders proudly played their part in the organization’s annual HOPE (Helping Others Persevere and Excel) Week effort. The week-long community outreach program’s purpose is to touch as many lives as possible in your area. Members of the RailRiders’ coaching staff, players and front office folks made their way throughout NEPA.

Childrens-Miracle-Network-Hospital-2014HOPE Week 2014 in SWB included partnerships with the Children’s Miracle Network and Make-A-Wish Foundation to welcome children in for an unforgettable day; shaved heads and over $13,000 raised for childhood cancer research; a visit to the Gino Merli Veterans Center; and laser tag with the NEPA Boys and Girls Club.

Make-A-WishThe RailRiders’ Military Appreciation program was brought back to show the team’s support of our nation’s active and retired military. The serviceperson and his/her family were honored. Activities included complimentary game tickets, a pre-game on-field interview and a ceremonial first pitch.

SWB’s patriotic pride continued by Setting A Seat Aside. To honor men and women affiliated with our nation’s military whom could not be at PNC Field, one significant seat (section 13, row 15, seat one) remains forever empty and unsold.

“2014 was a great year,” said community relations manager Rachel Mark. “Seeing the impact our community outreach makes in NEPA is priceless. We are excited to continue these efforts and watch them grow in 2015.”

Cyclones Get Slimed For ALS Association

Brooklyn-CyclonesOn Wednesday, August 27th the Brooklyn Cyclones and Staten Island Yankees will square off at MCU Park on 90s Night at the ballpark.  As part of the evening’s festivities, the Cyclones will be wearing special Nickeldeon “90s Are All That” jerseys that will be raffled off throughout the game with all proceeds to benefit the ALS Association.  To kick things off, the Cyclones front office had their own twist on the “Ice Bucket Challenege” with the Slime Bucket Challenge thanks to our friends at Nickelodeon.

ALS-logo2During the game on August 27th, fans will have the chance to make a donation to ALS and then join the team on the field post-game to participate in the ice bucket challenge around the infield.  It’s going to be a great night, to benefit a great cause.

“We’ll be celebrating alot of things from the 90s that will make people say ‘Oh yeah, I remember that,'” said Cyclones Vice President Steve Cohen.  “And we hope that through all of the money raised through the ice bucket challenege and other events like our jersey raffle, that in the not-to-distant future people will be able to make Lou Gehrig’s disease a distant memory as well.”

All tickets for the game on August 27th will have special throwback pricing of just $10.
