Bandits to donate part of every Ferris wheel ride ticket to Genesis Foundation

Quad-Cities-River-BanditsEvery ride of the opening season for the new Ferris wheel at Modern Woodmen Park will help benefit the Genesis Health Services Foundation, the Quad Cities River Bandits and Main Street Amusements announced on Friday. For each ride, 50 cents will be donated to the Genesis Health Services Foundation, benefiting Camp Genesis, Genesis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Genesis Flu-Free Quad Cities.

The River Bandits also announced a new Fast Lane to board the Ferris wheel for IHMVCU members who purchase tickets for the ride and show their membership at the Ferris wheel queue.

Genesis-Health-Services-FoundationBeginning Saturday, May 24, the amusement areas of Modern Woodmen Park – including the Ferris wheel and the Bounce QC Kids Zone are scheduled to be open – weather permitting – to fans at every River Bandits home game, and will also be open on weekend non-game days during the following hours:
Fridays, 6 p.m.-10 p.m.,
Saturdays, 10 a.m.-noon and 6 p.m.-10 p.m.,
Sundays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This weekend’s special Memorial Day hours will be noon to 6 p.m. on both Sunday, May 25, and Memorial Day Monday, May 26, to celebrate the opening of the first Ferris wheel inside of a minor league ballpark.

“We are so excited to open the Ferris wheel and amusements for the Quad Cities community and visitors for every game and every weekend all summer long,” said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. “Not only will our guests enjoy some of the best and most affordable family-friendly entertainment in the Midwest, but they will also be supporting a local charity and creating lifelong memories.”

To ride the Ferris wheel and enjoy the other amusements at Modern Woodmen Park, fans may purchase special tickets that can be redeemed at amusement areas, including the Ferris wheel and Bounce QC Kids Zone. Tickets are sold at $1 each, 5 for $5, 12 for $10, and 20 for $15. One Ferris wheel ride is 5 tickets. No tickets are required for children three years and under, but children shorter than 42 inches must be accompanied by an adult on the Ferris wheel.

The Ferris wheel has 20 gondolas, with each able to hold a maximum of six adults or up to eight people including children. The loading process requires weight balance throughout the Ferris wheel. Once loaded, a full ride is approximately three to four minutes. The wheel moves at approximately 7.5 miles per hour.

The River Bandits and Main Street Amusements are offering an all-you-can-ride-and-bounce daily pass for $20, and a season pass for unlimited rides and play in the Bounce QC Kids Zone for $49. Purchases can be made at the amusement areas of Modern Woodmen Park.

Proceeds from Friday’s release of Homefront IPA will benefit Operation Homefront.

Richmond-Flying-SquirrelsThe Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants are excited to announce that once again Homefront IPA, a specialty beer brewed by Center of the Universe Brewery with all proceeds going directly to Operation Homefront, will be released at The Diamond and available for a limited time on Friday night. Center of the Universe Brewery along with 10 other designated breweries across the country brew this IPA for the Memorial Day weekend to benefit Operation Homefront, a non-profit with a nationwide organization that provides emergency and other financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. Operation Homefront has provided assistance to thousands of military families since its inception in 2002. The 11 breweries combined donate 100% of proceeds and will raise a minimum of $150,000 for Operation Homefront this year.

Operation-Homefront“Homefront IPA is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to all of the men and women who dedicate themselves to protecting our safety and our way of life,” said Chris Ray, Co-founder of Center of the Universe and former Major League pitcher. “By releasing this beer so close to Memorial Day at The Diamond, we hope to give a reminder to everyone of how important the past, present, and future members of our armed forces are and to remember the ultimate sacrifices so many have made in their pursuit of our freedom.”

A limited amount of Homefront IPA will be for sale at the top of the main entrance to the right of the stage. It is brewed with West Coast hops, fresh orange zest, and aged on Louisville Slugger Maple bats. The bats will then be auction off with the proceeds also benefiting Operation Homefront.

Naturals to Raise Money for Tornado Relief at Arvest Ballpark

Team puts programs in place over Memorial Day weekend to help tornado victims in Arkansas

Northwest-Arkansas-NaturalsThe Northwest Arkansas Naturals are teaming up to help the Salvation Army Northwest Arkansas Area Command as they assist with the recovery efforts after devastating tornadoes hit Central and North Central Arkansas in late April.

This Memorial Day weekend, the Naturals will do our Launch-A-Ball Fundraiser – normally done after each Friday home game – following the Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular on both Friday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 25th. Fans can purchase Launch-A-Balls for $1 at each game, and then try and hit targets on the field after the game to win prizes from the Naturals. In addition, 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Salvation Army Northwest Arkansas Area Command to help tornado victims in Arkansas.

Salvation-ArmyOn Saturday, May 24th, the Naturals will hold a memorabilia auction behind Section 109 on the concourse that will feature signed memorabilia from the Naturals, the Kansas City Royals, and other Minor and Major League organizations. Like with Launch-A-Ball, 100% of the auction proceeds will go to tornado relief efforts and the Salvation Army.

Items that will be up for auction on Saturday night include a Vance Wilson Jersey, a Wil Myers Jersey, a Brian Poldberg Kansas City Royals Jersey, a Frank White autographed Wichita Wranglers Jersey, a 2008 Naturals’ team autographed jersey, along with a wide array of autographed baseballs, and other items collected over the past few weeks. The auction will end in the middle of the 6th inning.

“Our hearts go out to those affected by this devastating weather,” said Justin Cole, Naturals General Manager. “The needs of these areas will go on for a long time, and we wanted to do our part to continue to raise funds and awareness for their recovery.”

Fisher Cats Foundation, Velcro USA Inc. Award $5,000 to Local Schools

Nine schools recognized for perfect Reading Challenge participation

New-Hampshire-Fisher-Cats-logo-2013The Fisher Cats Foundation and Velcro USA Inc. awarded $5,000 to local schools on Saturday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Nine schools were honored on the field for having one-hundred-percent of their students complete the Fisher Cats Reading Challenge presented by Velcro USA Inc. during the 2013-2014 academic year. Three of those schools took home cash prizes for completing the challenge.

The nine schools from across New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts weFisher-Cats-Foundation-logo-2013re recognized as finalists during Saturday’s pre-game ceremony for having every student complete the challenge by reading five books outside their normal school curriculum. Each school was entered into a drawing to win one of three cash prizes, totaling $5,000, from the Fisher Cats Foundation. Webster Elementary earned the top prize of $3,000; St. Joseph Regional Junior High School and Highland-Goffe’s Falls Elementary School were each awarded a $1,000 prize for their all-encompassing efforts during the challenge.

“This is a tremendous success for the faculty and students at each and every one of these schools,” said Fisher Cats president Rick Brenner. “We congratulate them for putting in the time and effort to meet our challenge this year. Their dedication shows a true commitment to the improvement of their education both in the classroom and at home.”

On Saturday night, faculty members from Ashby Elementary, Bakersville School, Highland-Goffes Falls School, Maple Avenue School, Salisbury Elementary, St. Benedict Academy, St. Joseph Regional Junior High School, Thomas Ditson Elementary School, and Webster Elementary School were celebrated for their success. Four of the schools – Ashby Elementary, Maple Avenue, Salisbury Elementary, and St. Joseph – have been recognized for their participation efforts in successive years.

During the school year, the Fisher Cats and Velcro USA Inc. reached out to approximately 60,000 students in more than 150 schools to present this year’s Reading Challenge. Students needed to complete the challenge in order to earn individual recognition at a Fisher Cats game. Upon completing the challenge, each student received a pair of tickets, courtesy of Velcro USA, to a Fisher Cats Reading Challenge game and the opportunity to participate in a pre-game parade around the field.

Heroes Game during the 2014 Eastern League All-Star Stop presented by UPMC Health Plan, the parties announced today. The Curve Pa. Heroes Game presented by the Altoona Mirror & AMBCUS Altoona will kick off the two days’ worth of festivities surrounding the Eastern League’s midsummer classic in Curve, Pa.

Wounded-Warrior-Amputee-Softball-TeamThe Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST), which is made up of young, competitive, athletic veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs post-9/11 while serving their country in the military/war, will be taking on a group of Curve, Pa. Alumni in the Heroes softball game. One member of the WWAST that will be participating in the game will be Josh Wege, who was in the U.S. Marines and served in Operation Enduring Freedom. Wege participated in the 2013 MLB Legends Celebrity Softball Game and was named the game’s MVP.

“The Mirror is thrilled with the opportunity to be involved with such a great event in the all-star game and such a great cause in the Wounded Warrior Project,” said Ray Eckenrode, the Mirror General Manager for Advertising. “To be able to recognize the sacrifices of our service men and women is truly an honor. The POW/MIA Chair is a pet project of our publisher, Ed Kruger, and we’d like to thank the Curve staff for taking Ed’s vision and making it a reality in such a special way.”

Already scheduled to represent the Curve Alumni in the game are Adam Hyzdu, Mike Johnston, Tike Redman, Chris Snusz and Jack Wilson. They’ll be joined by a few additions in former Curve OF Kory DeHaan and LHP Mike Connolly.

DeHaan, who is currently the hitting coach with High-A Bradenton, played for the Curve during their inaugural season in 1999, reached the major leagues in 2000 with San Diego and again in 2002. DeHaan batted .268 with 13 doubles in 47 games for the Curve during the 1999 campaign. He last played professionally in 2003 for the Portland Beavers (Padres’ AAA Affiliate), playing in 54 games.

Connolly played for the Curve from 2003 to 2006 and reached as high as Triple-A both in 2005 and 2006. He was originally a 19th round draft pick in the 2000 draft out of Oneonta (NY) HS. Connolly currently resides in Altoona and is the co-owner/operator of ERA Sports, a baseball and softball academy offering advanced lessons and fielding teams that travel regionally to participate in tournaments.

“It will be great to welcome Kory and Mike back for the Heroes Game,” said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. “Our fans remember Kory for his outstanding second-half with the Curve in our inaugural season and for being just our second-ever player to go on and play in the Major Leagues. ‘Conno’ was a big part of our starting rotation for four years and, in each of those seasons, the Curve made the playoffs. It’s great to see him having success running ERA Sports teaching hundreds of local young players how to play the game.”

AMBUCS AltoonaAMBUCS-Altoona, which is a national non-profit service organization consisting of a diverse group of men and women who are dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities, has partnered up for the first day of events to help raise support and funds for the purchase of an Action Trackchair for one veteran here in Blair County. AMBUCS is working with the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center to select the recipient for the Action Trackchair. The Action Trackchair is the ultimate in off-road wheelchairs and will give its user the ability to navigate mountain roads, campgrounds, woods, beaches, hiking trails, frozen lakes, snowy terrain and much more.

All proceeds from the Ghostman Games & Hitting Challenge jerseys that the All-Stars will wear will be donated to the fund to purchase of the Action Trackchair. In addition, fans can purchase their very own Ghostman Games jersey with a portion of the proceeds from the sales going to the purchase of the Trackchair. The Curve will be accepting general donations up until the Eastern League All-Star Stop during game days at the Laurel Eye Clinic Customer Service Booth or non-game days inside the front office at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

AquaSox to Host Pink at the Park Game 6/27

Everett-AquaSoxThe Everett AquaSox announced today that they are partnering with the Providence Comprehensive Breast Center for Pink at the Park at the Everett AquaSox-Spokane Indians game on Friday, June 27. The event will celebrate women’s health, raise awareness and proceeds will benefit the Breast Center.

AquaSox players and coaches will be wearing pink jerseys on the 27th, which will be autographed and auctioned off during the game. There will be face painting and hair painting available in the concourse, an information fair on women’s health as well as a raffle for several gift baskets. Proceeds from all of these elements will go to the Providence General Foundation’s Comprehensive Breast Center Fund to help raise awareness for local breast cancer detection and treatment.

Lakewood-BlueClaws-LogoThe BlueClaws are proud to hold their 14th annual ALS Celebrity Waiter Event on Wednesday, June 4th at TGI Friday’s on Route 70 in Brick.

The event, which started in 2001, raises money for the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, the principal charity of the Philadelphia Phillies.

ALS-logo2This marks the third straight year the event will be at TGI Friday’s in Brick. There will be two seatings: one at 5:30 and another at 7:00. As in years past, BlueClaws players will be serving as the waiters, and coaches will serve as bartenders.

20% of every check, plus 100% of all tips, will be donated directly to the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia.

“This has been a wonderful partnership between the BlueClaws and the ALS Association over the last 13 years and we are looking forward to what is always a great event,” said Jim DeAngelis, BlueClaws Director of Community Relations.

“The Phillies and their family have raised money to fight ALS for 30 years and here at the minor league level, the BlueClaws have been able to do the same since our inception in 2001,” he added.

The ALS Celebrity Waiter event has raised nearly $125,000 in its first 13 years.

There will also be a silent auction, while BlueClaws players will sign autographs and pose for pictures throughout the night.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore’s top stop for affordable, family entertainment. They have led the South Atlantic League in attendance in all 13 years of existence.

Chicken of the Sea Donates $10,000 to Kiwanis Miracle League

Iowa-CubsIn a special ceremony prior to tonight’s Iowa Cubs game at Principal Park, representatives from Chicken of the Sea made a $10,000 donation to the Downtown Kiwanis Miracle League. The donation will allow 50 kids to play the entire season with the Miracle League this summer in downtown Des Moines.

The donation was part of the Chicken of the Sea’s “Great American GratituMiracle-League-logode Tour.” In celebration of their 100th anniversary, Chicken of the Sea is touring the country to give back to local organizations and individuals who are doing great work in their communities. Chicken of the Sea will donate $1,000,000 by the end of their tour. Chicken of the Sea Vice President of Marketing Christie Fleming addressed the crowd and made the official presentation to several of the board members, parents, and players from the Miracle League on hand at Principal Park tonight. Fleming is a native of Oskaloosa, Iowa and a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She was joined on the field by Catalina, the mermaid mascot for Chicken of the Sea.

Orem Owlz Efforts Benefit ‘Locks of Love’

Orem-OwlzJune 21st marks a great day for baseball and haircuts at the Home of the Owlz. If you are wondering if Owlz really need haircuts, of course they do! We are teaming up with Locks of Love and Aveda Institute of Provo for the second home game of the season. The students at Aveda will be providing free haircuts for all eligible donors. Haircuts will be offered starting at 6:30 PM and will run through the end of the 4th inning. Owlz front office members will be supporting the cause to show community rally for the event. General Manager, Justo Vazquez, will be the first donor as he is attempting to grow his hair out to the appropriate length. “We are excited to be a part of this, as this is our first big event for Locks of Love,” says Vazquez. “I personally can’t wait to donate and help a child in need.” Since the idea first came to fruition, Vazquez has made it a goal to have his hair ready by June in order to show his support.

Locks-of-LoveThis event will benefit Locks of Love, a public non-profit organization that provides vacuum fitted hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated human hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. Others have suffered severe burns or injuries or endured radiation treatment to the brain stem or other dermatological conditions that result in permanent hair loss. The vacuum fit is designed for children who have experienced a total loss of scalp hair and does not require the use of tape or glue. The prostheses they provide help to restore self-esteem and confidence, enabling these children to face the world and their peers.

The organization, which began operation in 1998, provides the prostheses to children under age 21. These hairpieces require between 6-10 ponytails and take approximately 4-6 months to manufacture. Thousands of bundles of donated hair arrive as a result of the national publicity that Locks of Love receives in newspapers, magazines, and television programs. It is estimated that children comprise over 80 percent of the donors, making this a charity where children have an opportunity to help children.

Donate hair is evaluated for its usefulness according to the following guidelines:

  • It must be at least 10″, clean and dry
  • It must be bundled in a ponytail or braid
  • Bleached hair cannot be used
  • Hair that has been dyed or permed can be used

Monetary donations to Locks of Love are tax deductible.

Swing-for-LifeThe Owlz will also be promoting Breast Cancer Awareness with Swing for Life of Utah. We are doubling our efforts for this special evening and inviting everyone to “Pink Out the Park”! This is a great opportunity to support two causes and help the Owlz continue to be a force for good in our community. “Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death (death from any type of cancer) among women ages 20 to 59,” according to the Susan G. Komen Foundation website. Help the Owlz make this evening one to honor those special people in our lives and community who have fought this disease.

Lakewood-BlueClaws-LogoThe BlueClaws have partnered with OceanFirst Foundation and Stop & Shop to raise money for local organizations when a BlueClaws batter hits a home run or when a BlueClaws pitcher strikes out an opposing hitter at FirstEnergy Park this summer.

OceanFirst Foundation’s Home Runs for Heroes
The BlueClaws and OceanFirst Foundation have again partnered on Home Runs for Heroes, a program that raises money for local military-based non-profit organizations. Each inning of the game is tied in with a local military-based organization. Each time the BlueClaws hit a home run in Lakewood, OceanFirst Foundation makes a donation of $1,000 to that organization. The BlueClaws and Stop & Shop have again partnered on the Strike Out Hunger campaign, through which Stop & Shop makes a donation to the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties for every BlueClaws strikeout by a pitcher in Lakewood this year. Last year, the program raised over $10,000 for the Food Bank, which supports over 260 pantries and soup kitchens at the Jersey Shore.

Further, this year, as part of their 100th anniversary celebration, Stop & Shop will give out a $100 gift card to one lucky fan each time the BlueClaws reach a 100-strikeout milestone this year (100th, 200th, etc strikeout of the year).

Kia Country Pink in the Park This Saturday

Savannah-Sand-GnatsOn Saturday, May 17, the Savannah Sand Gnats will join forces with Kia Country of Savannah and Susan G. Komen For the Cure Coastal Georgia Affiliate to bring awareness to breast cancer education and research.

“Pink in the Park is one of the most emotional nights of the season,” said team president, John Katz. “We celebrate the Survivors, remember those that lost the fight, and reinforce the message that early detection is critical.”

Susan-G.-KomenAs in years past, Sand Gnats players and coaches will take the field in special pink jerseys. Throughout the game, fans are encouraged to bid on each jersey. After the game, the highest bidders will be presented with their jersey by their respective player or coach.

All proceeds from the pink jersey auction go directly to Susan G. Komen For the Cure Coastal Georgia Affiliate.

“It is through the generous support of Kia Country of Savannah that provides the opportunity for us to donate 100% of the proceeds from the Jersey Auction to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Coastal Georgia Affiliate,” added Katz.

Any breast cancer survivors who participated in the most recent Race for the Cure on April 12, are asked to wear their race t-shirt for free admission to the baseball game. Charleston-RiverDogsThere aren’t many things more American than baseball, cold beer, and our Military. That trio will come together in a big way this year as the Charleston RiverDogs and Palmetto Brewery have partnered to help raise funds for military themed charity Operation Homefront.

The Class A affiliate of the New York Yankees will be the first venue in Charleston to sell Homefront IPA, and all proceeds benefit Operation Homefront. The RiverDogs will sell this special beer with the slogan “Hops for Heroes” during their home game against the Asheville Tourists on Thursday, May 29 to coincide with Military Appreciation Night at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Operation-HomefrontHomefront IPA was developed in 2011 by Fremont Brewing Company of Seattle, Wash., and Center of the Universe Brewing Company of Ashland, Va., in order to raise money and awareness for Operation Homefront.

Aged on Louisville Slugger maple bats, this specially-made craft beer does more than just quench one’s thirst as it improves the lives of our soldiers. Homefront IPA is a unique charity beer in that 100 percent of the proceeds are donated to Operation Homefront. One of the solid Maple Bats will be auctioned off during the game to raise money as well.

“We feel certain that our fans that enjoy a craft beer will certainly enjoy Homefront IPA while assisting our military troops and their families,” said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. “We’re proud to have first rights and to be the only site in the state of South Carolina to get this beer.”

“Palmetto Brewing Company is honored to support this very worthy cause with the Charleston RiverDogs,” said Ed Falkenstein, Founder, Palmetto Brewing Company. “We recognize the service of our men and women in the Armed Forces and respect the sacrifice they and their families make every day. Donating 100 percent of our proceeds to this project is a small acknowledgment. Enjoy a Homefront IPA at the ballpark with food and friends.”

Palmetto Brewing, located in downtown Charleston, is one of only two Southeastern distributors (Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Fla. is the other) that dispense Homefront IPA. Other providers include Center of the Universe Brewing Company of Ashland, Va.; Fremont Brewing Company of Seattle, Wash.; Sly Fox of Pottstown, Pa.; Perennial Artisan Ales of St. Louis, Mo.; Saint Arnold Brewing Company of Houston; Left Hand Brewing Company of Longmont, Co.; Stone Brewing Company of Escondido, Calif.; and Maui Brewing Company of Lahaina, Hi.

Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistance for American military troops, the families they leave behind, and wounded servicemen when they return home. The organization raises funds to provide emergency, financial, and morale assistance to families while troops are participating in a tour of duty. Since its creation in 2002 Operation Homefront has met over 741,000 needs of military families and military personnel returning from duty.

Operation Homefront was developed to support the families of deployed service members immediately following 9/11. Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, the organization currently provides services to military families across the nation with 23 locations serving 43 states. The national office handles cases in states that do not have their own local offices. The majority of its clients are the lowest-paid service members, the E-1 through E-6 enlisted ranks.

The RiverDogs are currently home through Friday evening hosting the Savannah Sand Gnats tonight and the Hickory Crawdads for three games beginning Wednesday night. Swing For A Cure Will Have City Stadium Seeing Pink

Lynchburg-HillcatsThe Hillcats will have everyone wearing pink on Saturday, May 17th will the 8th Annual “Swing For A Cure” Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Centra’s Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center! Proceeds from this event will benefit the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation.

General admission tickets for the 6:05pm game against the Wilmington Blue Rocks will be $10, with a portion of each ticket being donated to the fight against cancer. Plus, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free pink t-shirt! All Hillcats players will don pink commemorative jerseys which will then be up for bid during a silent auction during the game.

Susan-G.-KomenIt’s estimated that there will be 232,670 reported new cases of invasive breast cancer in the United States in 2014 and as many as 1 in 800 women in Virginia alone, may be diagnosed each year. The Susan G. Komen Foundation was created in 1982 by Komen’s sister and has since raised $2.5 billion for research, treatments, and support for survivors.

Bees to Support Health and Education During Eight-Game Homestand May 2-9

Salt-Lake-BeesThe Salt Lake Bees will host their eighth annual “Pack the Park Pink Night” at Smith’s Ballpark on Saturday, May 3 in collaboration with Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF) and Swing for Life. On Tuesday, May 6, the eight-game homestand will continue with the team honoring local educators during “Teacher Appreciation Night.”

Huntsman-Cancer-FoundationWhen the Bees take on the Reno Aces on May 3, players will wear commemorative caps and jerseys featuring pink ribbons in support of breast cancer awareness and fans will encouraged to help “Pack the Park Pink” by wearing the color of the night. A highlight of the evening will be a blind auction of the player-worn jerseys and caps with all proceeds benefiting HCF. Following the game, jersey buyers will have the opportunity to meet Bees players on the field for photograph opportunities while collecting their player-autographed jerseys. In partnership with the Bees, Swing for Life will also have pink t-shirts available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting HCF. Gates open at 5:35 p.m. and fans will be treated to a fireworks show following the conclusion of the game.

As part of an ongoing effort to honor and thank local educators, the Bees will host “Teacher Appreciation Night” on Tuesday, May 6 when the team takes on the Las Vegas 51s at 6:35 p.m. Admission to the game is free for all teachers when they show their school I.D. at the box office. Teachers may also purchase discounted tickets for family members for just $8.

“Pack the Park Pink Night” and “Teacher Appreciation Night” are part of the Bees organization’s year-round community outreach initiatives to support health and wellness, education and youth development.

Bees tickets are available at the Smith’s Ballpark box office from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., as well as at all Smith’sTix outlets and Smith’s Food & Drug Stores. Tickets may also be purchased online with no additional fees at www.slbees.com or by phone at (801) 325-BEES (2337).
